Alita / Explorer / Transparent Edition, what are your thoughts!? - Xiaomi Mi 9 Guides, News, & Discussion

[NOTE: I make NOTHING from the links and am not affiliated with TradingShenzhen in any way, if links are not allowed MOD please feel free to edit]
I've just purchased the Alita transparent edition from trading shenzhen here (8/256GB) or here (12/256GB)
It hasn't arrived yet but I've bought from them before and there's NO import duty to pay - at least here in UK (seems they dropship to Germany before here (UK). Their trustpilot reviews are pretty good, overall. They also have the option for bootloader unlocked and global rom pre-installed
EDIT: This phone has no BAND 20, thanks for the reminder @vtec303
NOTE: the transparent back only shows an etched heatsink with components, they are not the real components. Still bloody lovely IMO!

Full specs here, though, the majority of you will be aware of those and basically they're same but with bigger RAM and storage.
Just wondering what your views are on the phone, personally I think it's just bloody gorgeous!!! (yes, I know it's been reviewed and seen by most, just interested in your thoughts on it...)

Man, I can't wait for it to arrive!

very nice phone indeed, but you need to make sure LTE works in UK, first I bought a 8gb/128 Chinese and the LTE didn't work on my O2 network UK apparently O2 uses band 20 800mhz, I had to return it, only the global version which is the 6gb ram global version works. I hope you have done your home work before ordering, i wanted to get the explorer edition 12gb ram but found out its not compatible with band 20, in the spec sheet only the global one shows b20 under network the rest don't show b20, cheers

Yep, thanks for the reminder. I've edited OP to highlight that. I'm on EE who use B3,7 - so I'm all good. Thanks
Yeah, I went for the 12GB version as it was the only option on their site at the time (eBay had lower spec versions but would most likely have import duty to pay). Then I saw they had the 8GB version and couldn't justify the extra £s for 4GB ram, so cancelled the order. That was just today and have since re-instated my inital order for 12GB, I won't be able to upgrade for some time after this so figured it's quite future proof, for now!

The explorer version might come with a unlocked bootloader but not sure, in case its locked you might have to wait for some time, the Chinese rom is crap even the global is.. lolz, i recently installed the latest global beta using the xiaomitools v2, not much of a choice on a locked bootloader, but its way better than the global stable, at least my notifications on status bar working and battery drain seems better as well thats my recommendations. cheers

Yes, BL is unlocked and Global ROM installed - well, that's what I ordered anyway, hasn't arrived yet.
I plan on flashing Globe ROM from Rom Builder website, it's based on Xiaomi EU but with extra customizations AND the option to remove Xiaomi Sync Daemon - that sends data to Xiaomi. Hopefully all should be good

How did you install the explorer theme and make it stick - by downloading from theme store?
I've been trying make that theme stick on mi max 3 - it works for like an hour using a 3rd party app (theme swap), but then reverts back to stock....
Any help on that front, can you shed any light on this?

yes the theme is good, but it needs improvement as some text is not visible in certain colours and apps especially on the extended notification pull down, hope it gets sorted soon. When are you receiving your MI9 ?, I am hoping MI9 should get a development as good as oneplus phones, if not I am getting rid of it might as well stick with my Huawei mate 20 pro..lolz, cheers.

well, it hasn't even been shipped yet! i had 2nd thought on going to 12GB/256GB version, so changed the order to 8/256, but then changed my mind again back up to 12/256 at the weekend, figured it would be more future proof as i won't be able to upgrade for some time after this. hope to have it by early next week.
yeah, i really hope this phone gets lots of support, or at the very least, one good solid rom as a dd

What impact if B20 is missing?
Hi y'all. I was wondering, what if my carrier supports B20 among other LTE frequencies and I buy a phone that doesn't support it? (Actually I live in Switzerland and my provider is Sunrise)
Does it simply mean it will be slower at times, and will shift to 3g instead of 4g, or should I not even consider buying the phone?
Thanks in advance for your help. Regards

Sorry for the donut question, but I am assuming the phone still works, just 3g only, is that right? Or did it not function at all without 4g?

Xiaomi Mi3 16GB Snapdragon (WCDMA)

Hello,
I dont know if my topic fits here in the category (General)
But i have a fuw questions about my new smartphone (Xiaomi Mi3 WCDMA version)
Because i have always used a Google phone (android) MIU5 is a hole diffrent OS.
So my question is there a possible way to install Google Play, and that is very stable on it?
Because i know xda-board is a very advanced board if it is something about phones, so if somebody can help me out here.???
------------
My Xiaomi Mi-3 Review.
New phone:
Since Xiaomi had released the Mi-3, there was an outbreak.
With the specifications and the low price Xiaomi had set an smartphone that is not only in China so populair but abroad the country to.
And you can see it with sales they made everytime the new stock was out.
In serval minutes there was a bunch of them sold out. The biggest one was more than 100.000 units in less than 90 seconds. You can see how populair the phone was. Because the new version with the latest highly clocked Snapdragon800 in it. Xiaomi set up an new variaty of people to there market.
Xiaomi is still out of stock in the most versions, and will be for a fuw moths.
Design:
The design of the Xiaomi Mi-3 is one of the most beuutifull phones ever made. The roundings the buttons the ultra-thin magnesium alluminum alloy gives the phone a very nice look. The roughness of the phone with his big 5 inch screens feels so nice in your hands. You dont have trouble with using one hand (only if you have big hands)
Hardware:
Xiaomi haves two versions of the Mi-3. The tegra4 TD-SCDMA only can be used in China, and the Snapdragon WCDMA an European/American/others parts of the world. Both CPU’s are diffrent clocked. the Tegra4 is clocked to max with 1.8Ghz, and the Snapdragon800 is clocked 2.3Ghz. The driffrence in the speed of the phone is actualy the same. Both versions are smooth tasking. There is no lag or something bothering you. With his 2GB on both version you are for now a happy guy. You can play the latest games on your phone as you want. With the new amazing LG Full-HD resolution IPS screen it makes the so beuatifull. The colors of the phone pop out. The angles on the screen are nice, somebody next to you will not having trouble to not see the screen.
Software:
Mi-3 is running on two diffrent android version. The tegra4 runs at an 4.2.3 android. And Snapdragon800 runs on an 4.3 newer version of the android. When you recieve your phone you can choose if you want to use it in chinese or English. If you choose english you still will see some chinese signs at the screen. This is one thing that the developers dont have chainged. But i cant hurt. You will not recieve Google App store on it, you must download it by your self. Xiaomi is very smart if you wanna use Google services, you must have an Xiaomi account, and trough the account you can download google installer. And from there you can use any google app you want.
Yes, it is possible!

I don't know if this is the right category for you question, but I'm not a moderator so I don't need to know that actually.
What I know on the other hand is that you can easily install Google Apps (GApps) on your Xiaomi Mi3. You won't need any experience with flashing gapps from internal storage or SD-card, it is easy as pie!
Once you have your phone open the MIUI Store and search for "Google". The developer Eric Xiang has put together an excellent Google Installer app. The name is in Chinese, but just search for it in English and you will find it. The installer will take care of everything else.
If that doesn't work, you should try rooting your device and flashing Gapps manually.
thank you in advance.
The GAPP store is in english right? Not chinese.
Hope i will can fix it. Uhm are there customroms made for the XIAOMI or not? So i can try that to if it doesent work for me...
How do you like the phone so far?

and yet another one by a friend of mine:
I have the phone for about 3/4 days right now.
And the MIUIV5 launcher, if you using it for the first time. Its a little bit strange.
But after using it for a while, you learn fast and see how powerfull the launcher is.
The 1ste you always do is install gapps on your phone.
I Had to make some questions an supported boards, to get it work. But now i am pleased with the usage of the phone and the powerfull hardware whats in it.
Love the phone for now, will definitly stay at the MIUI community.
One thing: i hope they can fix an Android Stock 4.4 Kitkat OS with multi-lang....
I dont know why Cynogenmod doesent come for Xiaomi Mi-3, or other custom roms for it.
XDA-developers are the moest anticipated people for smartphones, i hope they will be release an Xiaomi mi-3 miuiV5 or later v6 CUSTOM ROM OR SOMETHING.
i tough there will be alot of them because it is Androind but nothing
A nice review. I have a great apetytna this smartphone. Are you able to compare its screen with LG G2 or HTC One? I wonder if it is comparable to, or better or worse.

The phone by it selfs is great, but there are some issues that i must solve before you can use the phone.
My issues are:
1. 3G not working well <- not solved
2. Ram is filling quikly <- not solved
3. Google account had some problems (was my fault because did not install google contacts.apk) <- solved
If these things are solved, than you have an bad-ass phone..

I'm using the latest MIUI version: 4.1.24 in Polish and I have no problems from the department in both the 3 and 2G. Everything in my MI 3 WCDMA works perfectly.
I have the CDMA version with miuiV5. It works great. No problems encountered. I just wish I knew how to make a custom ROM. I have a developer rom and the V5 rom. Tried both and they both work fantastic.
Maybe you know how to turn off the meter data. After exceeding the set limit further changes cause complications itelefon off my data transmission. I do not need to set this limit, I enclosed it with curiosity, and I have no problem.

In my opinion the mi3 offers the best hardware on the whole market to a fantastic price. I can't understand why there are no developers for roms like AOKP or CM or AOSP.

It is not. Perhaps it's successor - the rumoured MI3S - might have this feature.
Btw. I have a 64GB Mi3 and so far I am very happy with this phone; even without LTE-support.
I am very happy with my phone. It is a 64GB Grey Mi3. The 3G on AT&T is fine but slow.
The Data speeds are not that fast but it gets the job done. I get some time out errors from time to time.
I like to be able to get the Temp that displays on the lock screen and home screen(default) to display current location instead of in China. Can't seem to get the default Maps app to work in the US even with it locking in on GPS it displays China. Google Maps works fine but a little show and sometimes has defaulted back to a Chinese location first until a signal lock happens and then it will find my current location.
Starbucks app doesn't work on my phone.
When I click on an autocorrected word that has a red underline on it the app will crash and send me back to home. Bug has been reported.
When saving pictures from the internet it doesn't default to a standard folder. It uses the cloud folder and even with sync to cloud off I have to move it to the main local folder to get the pictures available to send or attach to email.
Speedtest.net doesn't connect to show download speeds. It will show a slow upload speed.
Visual VoiceMail doesn't seem to work on AT&T's network. If I give them my old HTC One IEMI number the visual voicemail works but the DATA does not. I can live with it for now.
Anyone got the Visual Voicemail to work with connecting Data on AT&T? If so what phone did they put in the system to make it work? the HTC One does not work. Confirmed this twice.
If they release an LTE version that would work with AT&T here that would be killer!!! I really do like the phone. The size, the weight, the shape. I would love to see this one in White or Silver 64GB.

There will be very soon, devices squad on snapdragon 800 SoC : xperia z1, zr (?), LG G2, Note 3 and more ... mean we can start poke their code to used as "base" to start write device tree on cm / aosp/ aokp. I have also very limited skill to write android code ... let us learn together. Mine on stock MIUIv5 and I satisfy with the phone performance. Miui serve what we need for basic computed including archiving/extracting files. It's handy i did not need to carry my laptop anymore when travelling

Oneplus 2 released in China Today

The Oneplus 2 has been available for reservation on jd.com, a site similar to Amazon, in China for the past week. Over 400,000 people reserved the phone. A reservation allowed the purchase of the phone starting 9:30am this morning. I managed to snag one and should take delivery of it later this afternoon. I was a bit disappointed to find out that it comes with HydrogenOS instead of OxygenOS. However, I'm sure that can be rectified in the near future. I purchased the 64GB model for 2399RMB, about $385USD.
Anyone else living in or ordering from China managed to get their hands on one?
EDIT: It just arrived. The build quality is impressive, especially coming from an LG G3. The accuracy of the fingerprint sensor in my brief tests was good, and I like the ability to unlock from standby. Not a fan of HydrogenOS, but I can see that it might have some appeal to people who like a more minimalistic android experience.
i also live in china and thinking to buy it ,i am just curious about camera quality and how much different hydrogen OS from Oxygen OS?
@khr0n0s Please post Antutu Benchmark results and Camera samples. Also comment on charging time and battery life.
I was gonna buy this or the new moto X, was inclining towards the moto X which would release in September, but now I am thinking that I'll just wait for the new OnePlus phone coming later this year. A company executive said that that phone would be the 'premium' phone, and that u don't think they are gonna add more than 200 $s (which would add up to the same price as the 64gb moto X style) to the price tag no matter how Premium they make it. Also, it is likely that that one will have the snapdragon 820 and a 2k screen. I hope this one has no hardware issues so I can be much more confident in waiting for the upcoming one, knowing that it likely won't have much hardware issues as well.

@ali_ge - You might have difficulty getting hold of one. I was just lucky. They sold 30,000 units in 64 seconds! HydrogenOS is very simple and has no home screens / widgets. The phone boots up in to an app drawer with a large clock at the top. Not many options to customise. It also has no google apps, but that is no different to any other Chinese handset. There is an english language option, but there is still quite a lot of Chinese notifications especially in the bundled apps. I will definitely be switching to OxygenOS when a ROM becomes available.
@bhu1 - Has the premium one plus been officially announced yet? I read an interview with Carl Pei in which he said it would be more about style than specs, but it was very vague. Even if they do release it later this year, if they use the same invite system then it will be difficult to get hold of for a few months.
@vaisakh7 - I'm at work now without the phone. I can post the benchmark and sample pictures this evening. I don't plan to use the phone as my main handset till I can install a custom recovery and flash with OxygenOS. This makes measuring charging time and battery life difficult.

Well yeah. Bootloader can be unlocked even now.. The thing is that we don't have factory image of OxygenOS yet.. As soon as we get it, we can flash it via fastboot.. Or we have to wait till International Version of OP2 goes on sale.. Then someone can easily upload the ROM Zip and we can flash it after unlocking bootloader and flashing custom recovery (we will have to wait a week atleast for a custom recovery imo) ... Or we can still do via fastboot but that will require extra efforts...
So hope OnePlus releases factory images of OxygenOS as soon as possible.
Is it possible also to unlock all international WCDMA/LTE bands when flashing OxygenOS on chinese version?

You don't have to unlock anything as it works just fine out of the box. I also ordered a 64GB version from Aliexpress.
edit: ok, LTE bands B5, B8 and B20 is not supported, but it is not a big deal for me as I mainly use B3 and B7.
I'm curious about the Antutu Benchmark, camera output and battery life.. OP, if you could posts more details, that would be great..
@Mermaidss @Aisakh7 @riyadh - AnTuTu benchmark as requested:
Here are some sample images. I think the camera is as good as LG G3.
For comparison, here is a low light photo from the LG G3 running Cyanogenmod:

Both images were taken using default settings. The OnePlus 2 is darker but more natural.
Pretty good!

Both images were taken using default settings. The OnePlus 2 is darker but more natural.

hopefully the oneplus 2 china version situation is same as oneplus one, the hardware was the same but the band support was actually controlled by the rom (the radio I assume).

Huawei T1 8 Pro - A way to confuse people and put my 2 cents

US..ONLY..So after an extensive research ...I bought the biggest Smartphone I can get...An 8 inch screen phone with a good battery life. For starters, here is what I found out...
Huawei has several models that are very confusing and even their customer service were not that much informative. models I have encountered are the following:
Huawei T1 8 Pro Honor - 823 L - 2 GB RAM and 16 GB Storage (Limited Bands for LTE but 4G speeds were fast enough for my use, got it from ebay)
Huawei T1 8 Pro Honor - 821 L - 1 GB RAM and 8 GB or 16 GB Storage options (More bands for LTE but 1 GB of RAM only)
Huawei T1 8 Pro Honor - 821 W - 1 GB RAM and 16 GB storage option (I think the W stands for WIFI...this I cannot confirm)
Huawei T1 8 Pro Mediapad - 2 GB RAM and 16 GB Storage from gethuawei website...out of stock as of this writing)
Huawei T1 8 Mediapad - 1 GB RAM and 16 GB Storage
This one has 4.4 for Android OS...I do not know if http://forum.xda-developers.com/hua...ot-huawei-mediapad-t1-8-0-pro-lte-t1-t3262608
has found a way to upgrade to Lollipop and remove bloatwares.
personally, the hardware is decent and battery life is great. I used it for 1 day and end fo the day still had 50% of battery life. I do need to have big pants though. Is there anyone trying to develop an updated OS for this system?

Nope nobody is developing anything to this device... Not even Huawei I guess... BTW after root bloatware can be easily removed...
Too bad...

Too Bad, this is a good device and the battery life is good for a phone with an 8 inch screen. It is also good for those who have problems with vision and not wanting to be bringing 2 devices for travels.
I may have to learn programming to see if I can update this...
I have the MediaPad T1 8.0 Pro and it has the best radio/modem for T-Mobile coverage. It even covers their HSPDA+ 750 MhZ band which only a few phones cover; this is the band that T-Mobile calls the "building buster" for its ability to penetrate most buildings. So yeah for all that.. I'm now waiting for an 8-inch phablet that's octo-core and features Lollipop or Marshmallow. So far I have been unable to find one..
So which one of the above did you get? 823L, 821L, or the one from Gethuawei website?...i m like you impressed with the build but needs a pure Android OS to maximize it's potential.
A have the pro8 t1-821L its rootable and bloatware can be removed this way I have also unlocked the bootloader but there is no custom recovery or ROM which is a damn shame because it's nice bit of kit a can watch movies all night long on it and still not need to charge it also am not locked to EE either so if any devs r reading this post please help this phablet out? cheers

I would have wanted the 821L also but there were no 2GB available anywhere. Only 1 GB. But even with my 823L and connecting at 4G, the speed is negligible in our area which is Central Florida. I get to watch Netflix, and Youtube also with not much lag. And I do not have to squint from a small screen. Agree, also that if anyone can build a custom ROM that's plain Android Lolllipop would be nice.
Would a T1 8 Cutom ROM work for the T1 8 Pro?

The page you linked is not good. The download links are there just to make you send money. Currently there are no custom recovery for huawei t1 8.0 neither to t1 8.0 pro without that installing custom roms are not really convenient. And also I wasn't able to find any custom rom especially on XDA, so I'm pretty sure thereare no "hints" on xda as the page says....
Huawei MediaPad T1 8.0 Pro GSM Unlocked 4G LTE US
Yes I do agree with everyone here. It is a very great device and a lot of bang for your buck plus more. The great thing about it is that you can basically make it however you want it. I manually updated mine to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. Which took some time because Huawei is a very new brand and I had to get used to there EmotionUI. Which didn't take long because its Android too. Just without the app drawer. So its kind of ahead because Android N is going that direction from what I hear. Also after rooting and installing BusyBox I tried to install xPosed. But the Huawei device wouldn't take it because they already have there own framework. So I started to tinker more with it and found out that yes indeed they have framework already. That's why it reads a message error when trying to install xPosed and it says something about xPosed not being compatible. I believe it has something to do with their EmotionUI. Not sure though because that's my first Huawei experience. The device is really solid though. Resolution can be tweaked and the display looks so gorgeous then. Values for everything can be tweaked to make the OS run liquid smooth and fast with very little noticeable lag or hiccups. Also the volume values can change as well giving it a more premium sound. Camera resolution was turned up along with high quality pictures. So the pics stayed sharp looking. Also when some values are entered it gives the gaming experience so much more life through the CPU and the GPU. Rendering gets way better too. Also changing the data values gives it more LTE speed too. Along with other values that make the browser loading times instantly. Even when being on the mobile data network seems like you would be connected to WiFi. It saves a lot of data too. And the battery is amazing. I'm trying to remember what other tweaks worked perfect for it and it ran with no problems. Oh yes it can multi task with up to four things going on. I got the app where you can, watch YouTube and Google something. And watch something on eBay all in different windows at the same time. It got warm but handles it very well. You should overclock it and have the battery set on smart mode. Oh yes and change the font. I had Disney font on it and went to a more modern font look. I'll let y'all know what else I did if I can think of anymore things. Just reply I will come back to this forum. It is my most favorite device of all at the moment. And Huawei is so new too.

Can we use a T1 10 Pro Rom for this device? Any of our XDA programmers chime in...?
So I just bought a Huawei ascend mate 7... finished using the tablet phone as I am almost done with my school... It was a nice piece of hardware and convenient in not having to bring two devices... But now I need mobility so I will be selling this one soon on eBay. If only it had a good following to install a updated os ....

Should i buy Le Max 2?

I'm using OPO for 2 years and counting . It's good phone to me but it seems old so i'm looking for new phone.
Le max 2 price in my contry is: 250$ for 4GB/32GB version. It sounds pretty cheap, isnt it? 250$ for brandnew phone, Snap 820, 4GB is quite interesting
My main usage is:
+ phone
+ social apps
+ phone call recorder app, voice memo
+ some small apps
+ and small game like slither.io,..
My OPO is very lightweight with Exodus rom, i wonder which rom to use with Le Max 2 to have same experience.
How about Lemax 2 battery, back camera and design. Please share your experience and suggestions!

Le Eco or LeTV (Whatever they want to call themselves today) can practically give this phone for free but still people, especially the developer community will not touch this phone.
Le is so protective of their custom EUI that they don't want enterprising modding community to make custom ROMs for it. If no one is interested in buying your products, then what is the use of trying to be Apple regarding their software?
BTW EUI is not perfect. It is pathetic unoptimized piece of turd and the less we talk about the random bugs the better.

so shouldnt buy it
If Sources are released then it'll be a beast, even then its a good device,No issues except fingerprint is little slow compared to others.Just bought a sealed packed in 14k in India & very happy
They will never release source, their whole company plan is to sell phones with no profit and instead earn money by the streaming function that is built in the rom.
This phone is really the cheapest high-end or close-to-high-end device, it outclasses the Zuk Z2 and Xiaomi Mi5 with its worldwide LTE support.
Wouldn't surprise me if they aren't making any profit, latest flagship phones always cost around $180.
It all depends on what you want. If you are simply looking for a phone at a good price, it is hard to beat this one. The biggest flaw of this phone is the fingerprint scanner. It isn't good. However, if your main goal is a phone that has continued software development, this probably isn't the phone for you. But if you're content with stock rims, this is a very good phone. It can do most everything you want.

I'm running stock China 17s no root, I've no problem with fpscanner it's blazing fast an misses 1/25, but no bugs whatsoever. I compare it to an IPhone, But for 1/3 of the price.
It's a brilliant phone. It takes some getting used to though. EUI is not the most amazing launcher but it runs smooth no lag. The specs are dope at an affordable price. So far I have a few things that I am not happy with in the stock ROM
1. The light sensor in direct sunlight, the colours get over saturated, the blacks become gray.. It's annoying. Hope they can fix that with an update.
2. Camera issues. Can not auto focus during video recording, and images are a bit over exposed in the sun. Average camera that's for sure.
3. Bloatware. A lot of Chinese apps that do not apply to users out of China, they are useless and take up unnecessary space and data.
And that's about all for now. If I could install custom recovery and could get a bug free MIUI 8, i would ditch EUI.
just got mine today, updated to latest 18s. I'm quite pleased but having notification problems when the phone has been in sleep for a while. I hope it's easily fixed, but disappointed the error is allowed to get through testing.

I believe that the software is OK, simply you are too new on the forums and you don't know how to handle it. Please check topics about "notification problems" and you'll find the way to keep them from not cleaning while the phone is in sleep mode. The notifications are working fine.

Hello, i got mine last friday and i have eui version -> 5.8015S and i don't see any ota update, could you tell me where do you get that update, if you need to install any recovery, what are the steps to update this? I just know that power button and + vol i get EUI recovery and there is a option to flash a update.zip file

Is it possible to downgrade to UI 3.1 or 3.0 after (Forcefully Ty samsung) having to update to 12/13?

So Just bought a Galaxy s21 3 days ago. I forgot to disable auto update and disable it on Debug mode as well. Well Samsung went ahead and forced me to upgrade to Android 12 and then 13.
The phone was giving me 9hrs SOT on UI 3.1 now I am down to like 5hrs SOT.
Phone Model is SM-G991U1
I read that once you have upgraded the Booloader version and the Binary version to a new version that Samsung does not allow you to downgrade anymore.
I have a screenshot I will post below was wondering if anyone could help me find a way to downgrade to UI 3.1 or UI 3.0?
I successfully downgraded from Android 13 to 12 with Odin and SamMobile but the UI is still at 4.0 and that is what is causing the battery drain.
If there is no work around due to Samsung downgrade policy is there another way to do it possibly with a Custom ROM of sorts?
I'd really appreciate any help I can get. I don't know what all of this stuff means but here is the screenshot.
NOTE: I tried downgrading to Android 11 and even an earlier version of 12 through SamMobile but Odin either fails the flahs or just gets stuck on Setup Connection and does nothing.
Thank you in advanced!

damn literally just read about all this information on Binary and not been able to downgrade once its passed a certain number that's such a shame I might just have to return it and buy a new one. I can't take going from nearly 10hrs SOT down to like 6 SOT just because some Dumb UI update.
Is there any other workaround you can suggest? I am 100% a noob but I been reaserching and learning more the past few days regarding this issue. Are there custom roms I can flash that would allow me to Roll back to 3.1 or 3.0 despite having a Bootloader of 5?

Snapdragon's are notoriously hard if not impossible to root. It will also trip the Knox efuse which can't be undone.
Try a factory reset, best practice after a major upgrade. All Samsung's should be optimized to get best SOT.
Return it if can.
New N10+'s can still be had loaded with Android 10. It's a better balanced phone in my opinion and will easily get 12+ hours SOT once optimized. Has expandable storage up to 1tb, so you can have a dual drive device.
The 4G Snapdragon variant has the best hardware but if you want to foot than the Exynos variant.

A steep learning curve. I've been following both Samsung and Google Android since I bought my first N10+ 3 years ago. The first one a N975U is still running on Android 9. Current load is over 2.5 yo, still fast, stable with minimal maintenance. It runs like a bat out of hell.
I was looking for a new Samsung flagship a little over a year ago. Blew off the S20U and the others ones that followed and got my second N10+ a N975U1 running on Android 10. Neither will ever be upgraded, I still prefer Pie. CPU cycle sucking scoped storage is fully active on 11 and up. It's not needed; it impedes the speed and functionality of the device. So I blew off Android 11 and 12 as well. Security simply isn't an issue with Android 9 or 10 in real usage.
Of course it depends on your preferences. 4G streams and downloads fine for me and helps with the good SOT. The display isn't a variable refresh rate but has better color/gamma accuracy/calibration; still one of the best displays in this regard. Peak brightness is lower to but I run at max brightness for only seconds not minutes only if I must. To extend the display life. Cams are good, the form factor is excellent; 30 gms lighter than the S22U. This 3yo N10+ has over 8k hours on it; it looks, feels and runs like new, the display is still perfect. Only repair has been one battery. The build quality is excellent. A gorgeous solid work horse.

It's the first thing I disable. I use Package Disabler but you can also use adb editing to kill it. Otherwise it will continue to run in the background. The N10+ will likely need to be optimized otherwise it can be a power pig too.

I went from a S4+ running on KitKat to the N10+.
It was future shock. Start exploring the settings and turn on Developer options.
I have about 70 packages disabled; don't go too nuts, target power hops and completely useless apps. Beware they may have dependencies you use. Avoid disabling the numerous small Samsung system apps unless you know exactly what they do; many modify the UI to provide appearance and enhanced functionality.
PD is useful for troubleshooting. Clearing an app's data with it leaves no null marks that can screw you up especially with system apps. Check out it's on/off toggle widget for selected favorites too. Remember PD runs in safe mode too; the only way to disable is in Security by disabling its administrator permission... or a factory reset. Never had to do that but if you crash the kernel better have quick fingers
The Spen is highly desirable as it has Smart Capture (allows lassoing and capturing text from almost anywhere), Screen write, bluetooth remote shutter release and more useful tools. I use it at least once a day.

Just a commoner, no mod god powers
You mean as far as rolling back? 5 or perhaps S5 is your significant number; you can flash to the same value or higher but not lower.
I never had to flash any of my Androids. I try to avoid playing with the firmware. Compared to all my other devices Androids are nightmares to flash.
