Change text color while charging - LG V30 Questions & Answers

One of my favorite tweaks when I used custom Roms on my Droid Turbo was, having the battery percentage text change color while charging. Is there anyway to do this without using an Xposed module? I use Google Pay and from what I have read, Xposed will break Safety Net. Any suggestions?

Can't download the pay version and when I try yo open the free version, it says I need to update but I cannot.

Xposed Modules: Which Ones Work and Don't Work

Hello all,
@superbass311 had a suggestion to create a thread to let all us HAM2 users know which Xposed modules work and which ones don't, so here it is! Simply post the names of the Xposed modules you know work, partially work or don't work. Try to separate the ones that work and don't work so it's easier for me to add them to this post. If they partially work, feel free to add a description mentioning which tweaks don't work and/or any issues that arise. This should save people some time and effort.
Note that this post is assuming you have done this:

To get the newest version of exposed working you need a build.prop editor.
look for ro.config.hwtheme=2 change the 2 to 0 and reboot.

If you haven't, pretty much all the Xposed modules you have aren't going to work. This is how I did it:

I used ES File Explorer to edit the file and it got the job done quick and painless. If you decide to go this route, here's how you mount R/W.
When you open ES File Explorer, tap the menu button on the top left (the 3 blue horizontal bars). Scroll down to "Root Explorer" and press it. A pop up will... pop up. Press "Mount R/W" and then select "RW" for "/" and "/system". Press OK and you can modify anything. Remember to turn it off when you're done!

Thank you sir!
I believe my phone is pimped out as it can get. lol
Rooted,Xposed, YouTube AdAway, Adv. Power, GravityBox and Adblock Plus.
I cant think of anything else I could need. I changed the Battery icon like yours, I have adblock plus on and hidden notifications so it does not take room on my status bar. I got Amazon Prime working with Instant Video.
The only thing I want that I cant have is the notification LED change to the colors i want. I believe we only have orange, green and red. Orange is charging, green is notification and red is well red. I should never see it with this battery.
AdBlock plus is not working with my MMS. When enabled it fails if i disable it sends. I googled and nothing for a fix. Someone said change port 80 to 8080 but that is not working on my At&t. any other program?

What worked for me was adding a proxy for both my wifi and apn settings. Use localhost and port 2020. This worked for me, the annoying part is you can't just add a proxy to the default apn, so you'll have to copy all your settings over to a new apn (and you can't copy and paste). Let me know if this helps, I may have used a certain build number of AdBlock Plus, once I got xposed working, I switched to AdAway which I feel works much better.

I can't get GravityBox to work at all. I'm using the KitKat version. Any advice? Every time I launch gravitybox, it just crashes.

I could be wrong, but you should be using the JB version of GravityBox, since the AM2 is on JB and not KK.

Did you edit the line in build.prop? This (and then a reboot) has to be done first.
Look at attached pic
Sent from my MT2L03 using XDA Free mobile app
I've edited the build.prop, and tried version 2.3.1, 2.6.1 and 2.7, gravitybox crashes with each one. I checked the advanced option for themeing engines too and it doesn't seem to help.
Can anyone tell me why xblast would stop my notification light from working ? Can someone install and confirm ? I like it better then gravity box for status bar tweaks. Any other alternative module?

Nope, it's a known non-working feature (at least for HAM2).
I was bummed about it, but found that the Go Locker theme Burst by Nanotech is a pretty good replacement. The free version works fine, and the donate version (99 cents) gives you notification count on SMS and phone.

the only way I saw it working was when you check the box so the orientation changes even on lockscreen, so I thought it was only me having the issue.

[MOD][WEAR] Rich Ambient Mode (for Android Wear)

This module disables the transition to Ambient Mode on Android Wear so watch faces keep rendering images (once a minute) in full colored mode instead the usual plain, black & white ambient mode. The watch still goes to sleep (screen updating Handlers are suspended). It allows you to fully enjoy all the beautiful watch faces (both stock and 3rd party).
Battery life: There isn't any noticeable battery drain. With Always-on screen, the watch can still survive 2 whole days. See attached screenshot of a test when battery went during 11 hours from 100% to 78% (few notifications, Tilt to wake disabled, lowest screen brightness on LG G Watch).
Screen burn in: It's not a good idea to use this module with OLED.
Requirements:
Root (su binary on watch)
xposed-arm-20150308.zip flashed through recovery
Adb/developer mode enabled (to install apps directly)
Yes, Xposed framework also works on Android Wear, check my comment for details.
The modded version of Xposed Installer is the same as XposedInstaller_3.0-alpha2.apk, just with few Wear incompatible GUI parts disabled making it launchable on Wear. Because of disabled Action Bar, it's not possible to configure Xposed directly and installation below is required. (If you are familiar with UI coding, universal UI redesign would be helpful. So far I only did smali edits to Xposed Installer but I may try some proper workarounds/fixes later.)
Installation:
Install modded Xposed Installer (1_install_xposed_installer.bat)
Run Xposed Installer
Close Xposed Installer
Reboot watch
Run 2_enable_module.bat
Install this module (3_install_xposed_module.bat)
Wait for Xposed notification and tap to do soft reboot
Current bug/drawback:
Manually opened/expanded notifications do not hide (screen doesn't refresh) after a timeout.

That requires bit more changes and it's not done yet.
Awesome work, been looking for this ever since I got my G Watch!! Ambient mode is pointless on LCD based watches anyways.

Hi,
can you create a module "shake to wake" instead of "tilt to wake"?

I think I would use something like this as well. If I'm looking at it right, it's in com.google.android.clockwork.home.mr1compat.TiltDetectorService and modifying seems doable so I may try it later.
I tried installing this on 5.1.1 but it does not appear to work. Not sure if this is Xposed problem (using unofficial 5.1 Xposed) or this module's problem. Is there a way to check if module got actually loaded (logcat)?

Thanks, I didn't know if there was something I would miss that you could give me a head ups on but sounds pretty straight forward.
tested on sony smartwatch 3 on android 5.1.1, using v68 sdk22 xposed framework, using your modded xposed installer, rooted with supersu 2.46
not working.. still fade to ambient
Hi @moneytoo, just curious, are you still using this?
I got xposed to work - I had to install xposed-v80-sdk22-arm.zip since the Android OS is 5.1.1 - I then followed your process to install XposedInstaller_3.0-alpha2.apk and RichAmbient.v0.1.apk.
Doesn't seem to work for me on Smartwatch 3 though!
thanks,
Charlie

It's working fine. Thus far I've tried Gravity Box (being careful) and "Flat Style Bar Indicators" to tweak the status bar icons. So far so good.
Be forewarned that installing XPosed will fail SafetyNet, which basically eliminates Magisk's ability to hide the systemless root... meaning Android/Google Pay and other root-sniffing programs will refuse to run.

Yeah, but you can get decent status bar icons with xposed as opposed to LG's nonsense. I don't want two battery icons on the status bard, and I don't want my HSPA to say "4G" (its NOT) while my actual LTE says "4G LTE" (and the miniscule LTE is sideways). I want clear designations for HSPA and LTE -- period. And only one battery icon with percentage inside. Gravity Box gives me that. I don't need all the OTHER options of Gravity Box, except the audio steps.
I don't really use Android Pay. Just as easy to take out my wallet as my phone...

@markbencze, see I'm not the only one! Any development on this mess yet with the LG status bar icons in your themes? I checked a while back when you finally got Oreo and didn't see anything. I apologize if I didn't look carefully enough.
Just got root! Has anyone tried SystemUI Tuner? Seems like it does a lot without needing xposed, just throwing it out there. That being said, I plan on trying xposed later today.

Alpha has a few status bar icon options. I didn't mess with the 4g or LTE icons but I did make custom signal icons to compliment the center or left clock options. I'm adding more as time goes by

I used to use SystemUI Tuner but there were less options to tinker around with so I took a plunge and installled the systemless xposed module (and gravity box) and it works fine both on the "Thoery of Everything" rom (debloated stock oreo rom, 8.0) and now the unofficial LOS 15 rom (8.1) on my H930.

I was talking about Gravity Box xposed module, which I had installed back when the LG V30 was on Nougat. I have not re-installed Gravity Box with Oreo.
Gravity Box is like a custom ROM packed into one module. It can give you features and options custom ROMs normally give (like audio controls, etc) but you have to be careful when using with stock firmware like LG or Samsung which already have customizations which can cause conflict.
Gravity Box is best for pure Android. However, if you only activate a very few features -- like status bar icons, you can still use it.

Battery Life Guide

how improve battery life on your Note 8 but i want present my guide how get more battery life
This guide i recommend to use with rooted device.
1. Use custom rom i recommend hades rom & deluxerom but in my case most recommended is Deluxe rom because have own kernel which greatly improve battery life.
2. Use custom kernel. As i say before Deluxe kernel or Phantom kernel both is very good and stable.
3.All Pie roms have Night Mode use it because black color devices improve battery a little.
4.If you rooted first what you need to do is remove bloatware and uninstall all apps which you not need.
5.If you rooted and use Magisk root i really recommend you us this two modules FDE.AI & NFS INJECTOR
6.Do not use any App Killee all thats apps run in background and eat battery and ram
7.Only one app i really recommend and i use it from the first day when its released its not FREE app but its worth every money and this is SDMaid PRO you can find it on Google Play Store
8.If you want test an custom rom test it Deluxe ROM its include chines smart manager which have more functions than default smart manager.
9.Now about apps almost all apps i means newest version include dark mode use it like Google Chrome, Viber, WhatsUp, Telegram and others
10.About Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram all thats app eat battery i know i use all this apps few years and now i remove all. But i not say you need remove Facebook just use and LITE version or find here on XDA modded with integrated messenger and with dark mode. Almost 50% eat social apps
11.Disable NFC, Bluetooth, 3G, LTE or WIFI when you not need and one of the important thing is synchronization this **** run 24/7 and just for reason you have all notifications in real time i disable it on all my devices.
12.Games almost everyone like play an game on phone like PUBG or other just care your phone not be hot on some internet shops you can get joystick with integrated fan for cooling down your phone.
13. Display settings in my case i have brightness on 45% all time but never on 100% or more than 60% .....In resolution i recommend you set on HD+ and not FHD+ its same **** i almost not see any difference
14.Developer settings if you not know what is it you have a lot tutorials how enable it. Here in dev options i recommend you set all animations to 0x and app restriction to 4
I update my guide soon with new tips for improve battery life without lose on battery

There are only a few rules to save your battery
Don't have ****ty apps which suck juice
Use auto brightness, never go full sun
I am using standard oneui pie with stock kernel and I get 9+ hours Screen on time
No need for custom stuff

About point 5. I not say you need enable or use both modules.
And i not say you need all this steps use to improve battery life. I just write how you can improve battery but all other is depend of user if user use all steps or just few of them.
All this steps is for battery life and little on performance so you are FREE to choose which one you want

Number 14 in your list even needs more battery.
The app restriction
If you set it to 4 your phone often needs more CPU power to reopen the apps
This needs more power than to just leave them in the background (ram needs power anyway)

Yes i agree for stock rom and kernel on custom kernel is that restriction almost invisible if you have good kernel with perfect settings like Phantom kernel

No, thats just not true.
This only applies to apps which are using a lot of energy in the background.
Then the OS kills(not, because it uses a lot of energy, but because of 4 apps in background restriction) this Apps, which leads to better battery life
The best way to save battery is to switch off the phone.
Couple of points are useful.. but many other points are based on the usage.
Basically what you're doing is taking the "smart" out of your smartphone. You might as well use a feature phone from 15-years ago.
No matter where I go, I have a charger with me or near me. I'm almost never in a situation where I'm scared my phone will die and I won't be able to charge it. If the battery gets low, I put it on charge. Simple.
I don't need to go an entire day with my phone on battery, if there is a charger right next to me.
Battery saving tips are pointless. Just use your phone. You paid a lot of money for it.

I want Magisk Fast charge module for POCO F1.

Hello guys, I want a Magisk fast charge module for poco F1.
I want atleast 3200ma module.
I have tried many scripts but they don't run as expected so I want a Magisk module
Please help.
there is one called Advanced charging controller.
but I suggest not to use that, rather use its app known as AccA(advanced charging controller App) because it lets you customize the patterns and speed with which phone should charge and there are different setting profiles that you can customize. Unlike the magisk module which will stop charging at 75% by default and won't let you customize that.
if you would like to try that go to this link
