Download any root explorer or ES file explorer.
Procedure to get me build.prop file
1. Open ES File explorer
2. Go to device option in ES explorer. It will ask for root permission
3. Open system folder
4. There will be a file named 'build.prop', copy the file into internal storage or memory storage or any location you can send to me.
5. Get me this file and let see what happens. See the below image for the location of the file
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1EwO-qANBBWgpxJ6oIQaeKvx8dVtdsPOT/view?usp=drivesdk
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1zJsa4SRjJpXI2ioj317Yt4l3rbyW7yJw/view?usp=drivesdk
Check the files well, you have given me default.prop
How to know the exact file
1. Use the previous procedure with ES file explorer
2. Open all file names ending prop
3. There is a particularly prop file having all the information about your device like the picture below, that is what I need.
Plan B
if you have unpack system folder of your rom on the computer open it the files are there.
I send in there link

Are you rooted?
Well theres a apk in /system/app/DioDict_for_Android_LG_Swift_India.apk
permissions 0644(rw,r,r)
and theres a static library /system/lib/libDioDictEngineNative.so
and i think there was a dictionary database in the bundled mmc (a foolder called edictionary) /sdcard/
COpy these files to the directories listed above and voila! your dictionary is back
ROOT UR PHONE ,INstall ROOT explorer ,copy files, set permissions and it worked on my megatron ROM... thought might as well share it...
NOTE: If u took the NANDroid backup of your phone before installing customised ROM ...u can always extract the files mentioned above by using unyaffs.exe http://www.filecrop.com/search.php?w=unyaffs&size_i=0&size_f=100000000&engine_r=1&engine_m=1&engine_h=1
and use the system.img in your nandroid backup folder
didnt make nandroid before flashing ....
Well then look for it on filecrop.com
Can you attach the .so file here?
im willing to give my ozone wifi pass 1 gb /2 month / 2mbps to who uploads the edictionary database :|
the DIoDict Library
the library is included..i cud have uploaded that edictionary folder too..But i m on sodding 2.5g network(Its INdia) and can't even upload that..
bro i need tht edictionary :|
i formated my mmc card and lost the edictionary folder and the contents . can any one post it here if the have it ?
Is THIS the database?? Its what i could find on my card's edictionary.
But since i've installed a different ROM now, I too need the .apk for the dictionary if anyone can share...
thanks a lot
did not find diodict in my stock..can anybody upload it diodict apk
thanks in advance..

Hello everyone!
Here is a zip that contains all the files needed to make Diodict Dictionary work on custom roms (or any rooted phone):
mediafire[.com]/?umr5xvhze4wa5rc (remove "[" and "]" from the link. I am not allowed to post links yet.)
1. It contains the DioDict apk file which is in the "TitaniumBackup" folder. You can also use TitaniumBackup to restore it by placing the folder at the root of your sdcard.
2. It contains "libDioDictEngineNative.so" which you must place in system/lib folder. You will need 'root' and 'write to system folder' permissions for this. Not a big deal if you're on a custom rom.
3. It contains the databases for "Collins Cobuild Advanced", "Oxford Advanced Learners" and "StarPublications ENG-HIN" in the "edictionary" folder. You must place this folder at the root of your sdcard. The first two "Collins Cobuild Advanced" & "Oxford Advanced Learners" are awesome english dictionaries which will work offline. I don't know what the third one ("StarPublications ENG-HIN") is.
Let me know if any issues. Click thanks if I helped.
And @ccreadcc: Where is my ozone wifi pass? kidding....
Everything worked except that i was not able to paste the file.I am on CM7.
I use root explorer:
"you cannot paste here the file system is read-only"
I tried to edit the permission but say"some file do not allow permission changes"
Please Help
solution
Mount /system as writable
I don't know about Root explorer. I use ES File Explorer. In ES Explorer under Settings> Root Settings> Check both the options and you'll be able to paste the file there.
i had 2 wifi passes unused.. wonder where i put it xD
i just did !
i got success to install this on official 2.3 rom
just copy "libDioDictEngineNative.so" to system/lib folder
after that install com.diotek.diodict2.swift_india-a1c589b5691365fa3b910b4435b6d4ec.apk as u install other software .
it works for me !
thanks !!

I've created an independent app and have a video on the app that i sourced from the root folder. Problem is for some reason whenever i load the file from my usb onto my archos and select "move" it won't let me "paste" it into the root file, it just doesn't give me that option.
Anyone have any idea what I could do?

The root "/" is read-only. Now the question is WHY would you want to use the root folder to store files?
ok well i guess i should have clarified, i am working with a developer to create an app. He's coding it, i'm designing layout and images etc and he placed video in the root file on his archos 101 and told me to test it on my unit by putting video file in the root folder. He told me it's working on his end and sent me a vid, but i can't seem to paste it so he sent me here to inquire

Well tell him it's impossible to place files in the root "/" of a non rooted (Android) archos device. The only way to do that is to install the sde and install something like UrkDroid.
But the question remains WHY? There is never a good reason to place files in the root "/" of an android device.
well i guess that is a fair question, i guess i will have to ask him
So my question is is it possible and if yes how do i "extract" music player from stock ROM to install it on another ROM or even another mobile. Mobile is Huawei u8650, music player is stock Huawei (pink one from GB ROMs). So if anyone can help me with this, i already tried with .apk file but it doesn't install. Ty
PS I'm new user so i cant post link to any stock ROM for u8650 but there r tons of links here on xda, you can pm me, i'll send you link

First of all, to put it in /system/app, you're going to need to be rooted.
I use ES File Explorer, but you can use whatever you want. In any case, I'll write instructions for ES.
1. Go to ES's settings and then root settings and check "root explorer", "up to root", and "mount file system".
2. Navigate to your app wherever you saved it and long click > copy.
3. Navigate to /system/app and paste
4. Long click on the app you just pasted and go to properties
5. Click on the "change" button next to permissions
6. Set User: Read Write, Group: Read, Other: Read
7. Reboot your phone and hope for the best!
Note: The app still might not work as a system app.
