Hello
Trying to connect my android phone (Ulefone Future). Upon connection the phone is recognised by Windows 10 and installed successfully however it does not appear in Windows Explorer. I can see the driver in Device Manager as pictured below in screenshot
https://prnt.sc/nr1kjm
I have tried 3 cables so I doubt this is the problem
Also I have set MTP (Transfer Files) on the phone
What can I do?

I'm having an issue where my HTC Thunderbolt is not recognized by my PC any longer. I used to have it set up with pdanet and everything worked well for about a week. All of a sudden, any computer i tried to plug the device into, wouldn't detect the phone. A friend of mine has tried his thunderbolt on my computer and it detects it.
When plugging my phone in, it pops up an error message with "USB Device not Recognized." In the device manager, the phone shows up as Unknown Device. I have tried this on 3 different pc's, using 3 different data cables. No USB symbol displays on the taskbar of the phone when I plug it in, however, it does charge. When i drag the notification bar down, there is nothing there.
What I have tried:
Changing data cables.
Using another PC.
Uninstalling device drivers and letting windows re-detect and install.
Downloaded HTC Sync and ran it after uninstalling drivers again and re-plugging the phone.
Manually telling the system where the drivers are (Windows says the drivers are not compatible with my device, even though they work for another htc thunderbolt).
Changed different Connection settings on the phone, such as USB Debuggin on/off, and changing it to HTC Sync Mode, Charge Only, Disk Drive, etc
Mounted and unmounted SD Card in the phone settings.
Resetting to factory settings.
OS: Windows 7 x64
Note: I tried plugging it into a laptop with Windows XP and everything was normal here.
Is there anyone out there that can help?
Thank you for any information you may provide.
have same problem. did you figure it out?
I am having a problem plugging my Note2 into multiple PCs - USB2 and USB3 ports both tried, multiple pcs and laptops tried.
All running Windows 7 (Pro or Enterprise). The N2 is bone stock, no root yet.
It makes the sound like it sees the USB, but fails installing all of the drivers, and never brings up the window to explore the SD contents.
I have tried multiple drivers - the S3 driver that some said would be no issue does not work. Different carrier versions do not work.
Last I checked, there was no verizon version driver available.
Here is my process.
I plug it in.
It says Connected as Installer
I pull the window down, choose MTP.
It tries to install different drivers
Never completes in Windows, says failed.
I have tried with debugging checked and without.
I have tried aftermarket cables (namebrand and off-brand) as well as OEM cables from the S2, S3 and Note2.
I've removed hidden USB devices and plugged it into multiple different USB ports to try and get it to work.
Any ideas guys? Are you guys plugging your Note 2's in and are able to browse the internal storage no prob through windows ? If so, how?
nothing?
Simmilar USB connecting issues
My Note 2 does connect as a MTP media device with "directories" Card & Phone, via win7
But I want to connect the sd card as a standard usb mappable drive just like every other phone I ever had.
It seem Android used to allow this but now may not. Or I haven't found the magic setting.
I had a similar issue after I flashed the rooted image, I had to disable USB debugging in developer options, restart the phone and laptop to get it to connect as MTP
Note 4 Not Recognized by Two PCs
Hello Folks,
I have a Note 4 that I plan to install TWRP then a custom ROM on. Both Windows 10 & Linux Mint 20 do not recognize the phone. I enabled developers options, then enabled USB debugging. I first noticed this when I tried to copy the TWRP.tar file via Odin. The device doesn't show up.
This is allegedly a brand new phone.
There is no popup dialog box on the device when I plug it into either computer. The battery icon up in the tray of the device does have a charging sign, yet no option for file transfer.
However, When I connect a different Note 4 to either computer, it registers fine. In Thunar File Manager on the Linux PC there is a connection icon for the other Note 4 that says, Samsung Galaxy. Also, on that device itself there's a dialog box that pops up & asks for a file transfer. So this other device fine.
So, it seems both computers are OK. The problem is with the new phone. I've tried different USB cables & get the same issue. I've enabled & disabled the developer options & USB debugging & rebooted the device, & same thing. I've also tried a factory reset, that doesn't fix it.
When I search the internet for this issue the only things I've found are reports on swapping USB cables & making sure that USB Debugging is enabled.
I read this post about the same issue. So this might be the problem. Yet, I thought I'd post this anyway in case others have some ideas.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks
Hello, I'm facing this problem from many years in my phone, i can't plug in my mate 10 to any pc, it always says usb not recognized,
all drivers installed correcly with hisuite , my cable usb is new,
i changed today the USB charging port of the phone at Huawei care service, and i reset factory the phone , still same problem.
I'm still having the same stock rom on the device,
is the "usb not recognized" problem can be a software problem in the phone? thank you for your experience.

I'll try to help you but I'm not an expert, and yet I've had EVERY problem you seem to be speaking about.
a. I have had broken USB ports
b. I have had broken USB cables
c. I have had the USB drivers not install on Windows
etc.
Given I've had some of the same problems, I feel for you, so my first advice is to simply give up on USB for everything that you can.
Specifically, if you can turn on USB debugging and Wireless debugging in the Developer options, you can operate the phone over Wi-Fi using the Windows monitor, keyboard and mouse as shown in my screenshots below.
You don't need anything installed on Android to use these FOSS solutions on Windows to operate the entire phone over Wi-Fi as of Android 12 (which eliminated the need for an initial USB connection to establish the Wi-Fi connection).
In summary, I have had similar problems with USB where I've given up on USB and switched to operating Android over Wi-Fi and even mounting the entire Android file system as a Windows drive letter over Wi-Fi using free software.
a. adb
b. scrcpy
c. vysor
d. webdav
Use Windows Event Viewer to check for error messages on the PC.
If the problem is the PC it will likely show up there and give you more troubleshooting clues.

Hello! I have a (12+256) Motorola Edge+ 2020 in Pakistan. I bought it last September. Everything works great, except that it won't connect to my computer. I have tried changing the default USB connection to File Transfer but it does nothing. The normal "Connected Devices > USB preferences" window is inactive and only accessible by search which doesn't do anything as well. I have tried using Moto tools to update computer drivers and the "Device Help" to access files. The Device Help WiFi route works fine but won't connect through USB. Changed cables, tried on different computers.
