Another question about Alcatel OT-990:
Why can't I send MMS with data disabled? Is this an Android 2.2 weirdness or a weirdness of this specific device? On Android 2.3 on different device it is possible to send mms with data disabled.

Yes I still need help >>>
I wanna to Update my android 2.2.2 to higher versions that possible .
Did you try this?
I've tried this app more than one time and it always failed to complete the misssion .
I hope you have another way to done this upgrade .
waiting for your reply.//.
Does the FOTA app on the device report that there is an update? Did you try to download it and install it over the air with the use of this app? What happened?
There is a way to install Gingerbread on OT-990 and it is explained on this forum, but, lot of providers have decided to stay on Froyo since GB on this device is known to drain baterry fast.
If You still want to experiment with upgrading Your software search forum, here is complete guide.
Let me remind You that this will void Your warranty and if you make a mistake device can be bricked.
Once You install ROM from instructions in link, Yo can install another GB custom ROM, I sugest Marina Lite.
But you must know, custom roms require new bootloader wich is included in first tutorial (first link)
And, yes, when you ask a question, try to be more specific. I didn't understand a thing from first post (or, I couldn't find question in it)
thanks for your work , but this way isn't fully and i don't get my phone rooted yet .
So, you can instruct me to root my phone first .
thanks for you time .....
Hi guys, I'm new to this forums so I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this. But since I'm gonna be discussing about an android phone, I guess I'll put it here XD
Anyways, I have an Xperia Neo V and am upgrading my phone soon. I was wondering if anyone had any tutorials or links on how I can code and run custom operating systems on my phone. The thing is, I don't want it to be Android, I want to develop it from ground up, probably with assembly featuring. I've written a couple of tiny OSes on PCs with boot loaders and stuff using ASM but I don't know how to go about this with a smartphone as there are no resources on it.
Just wondering if anyone has any knowledge
Thanks

I am by no means an expert on this subject but first you would have to do is replace the bootloader on your phone with one that would allow you total control over the device which would mean porting something such as u-boot to your device. After that you would have following the porting procedure for whatever operating system you wanted to port.
Thanks for the reply I remember that on my tablet I had to place a uboot.bin file on the SD card before I could boot into CWM and some other stuff. Just wondering, rather than replacing the bootloader, would it be possible to run uboot from the SD card? Also, I was talking about writing an OS from scratch, not porting an existing one XD it's just for educational purposes, so I'd really like to try my hand at things like this
Thanks
Hi
Basically my problem is that I am unable to understand how I could build rom based on sources made available by github.com/puresoul and modify it. I'd like to include drivers for my TP-LINK WM821N v4 (so that I could use the dongle under ubuntu on android). But googling around does not really help. If someone could provide any websites that help, step-by-step solution how I could do that or lead me somewhere would be really great. I have tried following a few quides but I haven't found anything more specific that would help me.
My computer is running Mint and if someone missed it, my phone is a d605.
Hi guys,
Please dont be too harsh on me as i am a total n00b when it comes to phones etc.
I have had this Lenovo 10" S6000-F just sitting here for a few years waiting for someone to TWRP it and build a custom rom for it. But alas.... doesn't look like its really been taken up. I have found 1 or 2 , but they are so out of date etc..... And seems a LOT of people have this tablet and also waiting....
the little i know / reading i've done, is this will need to be the steps i need to do/follow:
1.) Compile TWRP Touch Recovery - https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1943625
2.) Build Lineage OS Rom - Following instructions on their website " How To Build Lineageos Rom For Any Android Device Easily"
Im pretty sure there is more i need to do, but without asking, i wont find out.
I dont expect anyone to force feed me, but would appreciate any pointers in the right direction.
Thanks in advance
Hi guys,
I am kinda new at Android modding and flashing Android devices in general but very motivated to learn.
For start a friend of mine asked me to find a update sollution for her favorite smartphone wich runs currently on Android 4.2.2.
In my oppinion flashing it with a custom OS could be the awnser to his problem so I starten googling and found this place.
I have been reading a bit and couldn't find what I am looking for. A "stable" OS .
Can anyone help me out here?
It's about a LG Flex (D955)
