Anyone else having problems with pixelated videos/images in some apps? (e.g Discord,Reddit,9GAG,Facebook,Instagram )? It bothers me a lot and I need help with it. Many people blame the OpenGL Skia renderer used in Android Pie.
i am having the same problem on zenfone 6 (2019), could not find a solution yet.

Hello!
I own an android pmp called Yinlips YGDP18 which uses an Allwinner A10 SoC (cortex A8) and it works great but there is a very annoying problem: all menus and apps (excepts video playback) have a horrible 1 second soundlag. This is horrible specially in gaming which is kind of the main function of this device.
I can't post links. So, go to youtube and search for a video called "Yinlips YDPG-18 (updated with A10 and 2.3.4) audio lag" which shows the issue
I was wondering if there is a simple hack I could try to solve this.
thank you
Yes, I made that video (terrible really given I do video production for a living
I can confirm the lag is there with firmware update, in fact now I get some sort of audio RF leak (I can hear screeching sounds when the unit accesses the SD card) that did not happen prior to the upgrade.
There is no known cure for this issue.
I have tried many AOSP roms (actually mostly all of them) for i9100g (cyanogen was first ) and the major reason i did not stick to any of them for long time was because of the bad support for hardware accelerated Video play.
Most of the videos play on stock rom without any problem out of the box
Has this issue been addressed or can it be addressed ?
Is there any developer who can look into this??
This would help me and many others to permanently transition to the better performing AOSP roms.
I am a die hard fan of AOSP and wanting to know whether this has been fixed in any of the roms.
Since cyanogen and AOKP seem to be the base for most of roms for my device, i request them to fix it. Others will be fixed automatically.
does anyone face this problem or is it only me????
Fixed using dice player(best video player)
it is better than mx player
Hello Guys,
I have seen many XDA forum posts / threads, about modifying the "media_profiles.xml" for camera improvement & media play back of your android device. I have phones and tablets which run on Android 4.4.2 & 4.4.4 OS, I could not find the "media_profiles.xml" file any where in the system folder.
Can anyone help to find that? One of my phone has got MediaTek 6595 M processor, 3 GB RAM, 5.5 inch LTPS FHD display, runs Android 4.4.2 OS etc.
It can play 4K videos. But the rear 20 MP camera can not just record 4K video. It can record FHD video. I want to make the rear camera record / shoot 4K video. I need help from you guys to do it. I am beginner level developer, do lack experience. Please assist me with this. I would also like to hire a developer who can sort out my problems and pay his / her fees.
Thanks & Regards
I have the same issue.
Hi,
I have problems with Instagram masks. When I'm trying to create a new story with masks, everything works very slowly. For instance dog ears lags behind my head. Is this a problem with a phone, or it's lack of optimization for Kirin processors? EMUI 8 (but the same problem was on 7).
P.S. I tried to search on forum, but I couldn't find such a specific question for Instagram masks.
Hello guys/girls.
My phone has MediaTek P25 and Samsung s5k3p3 camera hardware.
I know that s5k3p3 is capable of recording 4K videos and I know that P25 supports that. My phone has it set to maximum of 1080p.
My question here is simple... what defines the max video resolution and what would I need to change? Is it just somewhere in some file, defined as a variable or do I need to go into the kernel and change something there?
Phone is rooted and fully unlocked, have some experience with building "custom" ROMs but I was never bothering with this since I didn't have a phone that was limited in such way until now.
Would be really happy if you could help me with that. I'm using Open Camera that has an option to "Enable 4K on unsupported phones" but that doesn't help since obviously the system itself has a limit written somewhere.
C'mon, seriously nobody can give me some guidance to where to start digging for this?
Aaaaaaaanything?
