Hello,
Is there a step by step guide that explains how to install twrp, make partitions, how to root, how to flash, and installing ROMs properly?
I've never done something like this before and was wondering if anyone can help me out. I'm sure there are helpful guides already on this site but I am having trouble navigating as I am new. Thank you.

Ok, so im new to the game...
What do i need to do to back up my current STOCK rom, and then how do i flash a new one like this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=743769
Like i said new to the game, this is my first android phone, i already did the one click root, that was easy enough.
A step by step would be nice, or a link to a step by step, its mostly the lingo and what not i dont get but anyways thanks in advance.
Wrong forum to ask this but.
1) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=734164
Follow directions there
2) You're able to make up backups and flashing new ones is right there on the instructions.
***Installing***
boot into recovery, apply update.zip ( ClockworkMod Recovery )..
1. Install Vibrant4.zip
2. Reboot

I have much more detailed steps in the sticky of the General section (which is where this should have been posted.... correction, it should not have been posted because the Sticky says to read my first post before posting a question). Not intended to sound harsh, just informative.
Hi,
I've been going through the following rooting guide for my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Wi-Fi only.
[ACS] [How to] Root, Clockworkmod, Flash Roms, Unroot, Tips (11 videos) 3/14/12
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1462961
I've successfully proceeded through the guide up until I need to utilise the CWM-based Recovery tool v5.5.0.4.
When the CWM-based Recovery tool loads my screen continually scrolls down so the menu is blurred out.
From my research & querying the forum I found a related comment. This can be found from the rooting guide thread linked above - page 3 from a member called bugs9477. He states that he also had a scrolling screen & believes there is a compatibility problem for some versions of the tab.
As I've a novice to Android tweaking on this tab I'm not willing to continue until preferably qbking77 responds or an experienced forum member advises me on how to proceed forward from my problem.
I currently have a model number GT-P7510. If you require further information regarding my specific tab please ask.
Thanks in advance.
Just follow bugs9477 guide
Thanks MapleSyrup.
I followed the guide from bugs9477 & downloaded ClockworkMod_Recovery_v5.5.0.4_P75xx.tar.

I'm not sure how to uterlise this file when using qbking77 guide [ACS] [How to] Root, Clockworkmod, Flash Roms, Unroot, Tips (11 videos) 3/14/12.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1462961
The file used with qbking77's guide is called recovery.tar.md5 & bugs9477's is called ClockworkMod_Recovery_v5.5.0.4_P75xx when untared.
Can I use the untared file with Odin?
You don't need to untar the file.
I'm not sure if you're following the guide step by step.
Don't mix bugs9477's guide with S0ckM0nk3y's guide. First do what bugs9477 says and be sure that you are in stock again, then follow S0ckM0nk3y's instructions and check that cwm is working fine.
Thanks MapleSyrup. I wasn't sure if I had to go through the step of unrooting the device first. But once I did that & then went through the rooting process it worked.
Thanks for taking your time to assist me. Cheers.
Sorry to be a pain - one last question.
Do I need to keep the Samsung_Galaxy_Tab_10.1_root archive file on the SD Card after successfully completing the rooting process?

No, you can delete it.
I can't exactly find a detailed steps chart to install custom firmware... I know these steps usually consist of rooting, unlocking, flashing...
I don't know how to do the rest other than rooting. Can someone just list the steps after rooting? So far, I have downloaded a custom firmware zip file from bobzhome and I just need to know what to do next especially?
I need a complete program and instructions on reloading lollipop. My phone does boot up on TWRP 2.8.00. Please Help.
Look around. Its all here in the threads. If you can't find it, and perform it, you need to stop messing around with your phone.

If only people could search before creating new threads ! There's already a thread for new HAM2 users. Why do you think someone took the time to create such a thread ?
Anyway ....
Go download the B322 update and follow the instructions in the installation PDF. After that, if you decide you're still not interested in reading before flashing, I suggest you keep using the official ROM.
Hello,
Let me try to recall everything I tried.
The first thing I have done is to unlock the bootloader. I had 0 troubles with that. But after that, I tried to root the phone and there is no luck.
First thing I found is that there is no dedicate root tool for this phone. So my first option was patch boot.img with Magisk. I done that but it give me an error with vbmeta verification.
I read some guides related with TWRP but had almost the same issue. I also tried to port myself TWRP with the same luck.
So after that, I though the better idea is was to built the house from the ground, not from the roof so I started searching about VBMeta and that stuff. I'm not very sure what's VBMeta or what it does but AFAIK, it's something that check several firmware integrity (maybe CRC?) and, if it's not the correct, it will say so and don't let you begin the phone. Several investigations later I found out that I have no clue on how to path/change/whatever VBMeta in order to flash a patched boot.img with Magisk root and so, I can't install/port TWRP.
I'm so sorry for posting this here and I know that there is tons of tutorials but that's my main issue: I find several guides, some for some phones (PCBs), some outdated, some without complete information... If you could point me out on the correct direction and help me with this I will really appreciate that.
Thank you in advance.
Bump!
I know you already sold this phone, but I post answer for other people reading this thread.
I described rooting method for this phone here:
Is possible to root Xcover Pro?

I encourage you to open a new thread only dedicated to the guide, so it could help new people to find it in Google. If you do it please, link me up!
