Play Services turning Location to 'On' automatically - Xiaomi Poco F1 Questions & Answers

1)I don't use location or it's services, but everytime I turn it off, Google play service seems to turn it (Location) to 'on' after sometime, I'm currently on miui v10.2.3, previously was on Miui 9, where I haven't faced such an issue until now, isn't anyone else facing this issue and found a fix? It's become very annoying
2) I'm also rooted, I have tried disabling location permission of Google play services through 'AppOps' permission manager app, but Miui seems to reset the settings each time
3) Also many root functions like freeze etc don't work on many Miui system apps, I wonder why, since Miui seems to bypass your root access towards their system apps

[Q] Location Services Error

Sometime in the last week or two, my location services have completely gone away. On Maps, I get "waiting for location" and then "Your current location is temporarily unavailable." When I go into GPS Status, there are no satellites seen. Both satellites and Google location services are activated.
When I do a complete wipe, functionality comes back. Immediately after reinstalling my apps (without restoring data), functionality is still there, but after a short time the problem resurfaces. I haven't determined if it is an app or if the problem occurs after a service starts.
The only things that occurred prior to the problem resurfacing were the passage of time, opening several apps that require root - including SetCPU, SD Maid, AdFree, BatteryCalibration, and Titanium, and the receipt of 2 phone calls.
Is there any way, short of freezing/uninstalling apps and services one at a time, that I can figure out what's doing this?
It happens with both CM7 and CM9 nightlies.
Thanks.
hmmm, looks like a bug found its way...

Galaxy S3 running CM11 - SystemUpdateService won't stay enabled?

Hi,
For some reason SystemUpdateService is absolutely destroying my battery (phone awake 98% of the time) because it's not running and Android is constantly trying to run checks against it.
The service is under both of the following apps:
Google Play Services
Google Play Services Framework
If I use the DisableService app I can kick them back into action again... but whenever I restart my phone, they're disabled again. Also, sometimes they randomly switch off again at random.
Any idea how to keep these services running please?
Many thanks

Accessibility Services bug (ISSUE) HONOR 7

Hi
I have an issue with ( Accessibility Services ).
It's turn off when I restart the device. The apps I tried lastpass & seebye messenger api.
I did everything like giving full permissions, enable in protected apps, and allow full notifications.
Please, give me any hint or a help to solve this headache issue.
Or, at least tell me to get rid of this device if the problem is unresolved.

S2 GT-i9100 Google Play Services randomly causes *unimaginable* battery drain

Hello Everyone
Start off by saying I have little to no Android knowledge (rooting, custom ROMs, modding or programs for such things), however I have basic knowledge of linux and the command line.
My S2 GT-i9100 rapidly heats up and its battery is *unimaginably* and randomly depleted by Google Play Services and quickly renders it useless as a device. I want to fix it and not turn it into a brick.
I got the phone from a family member from Europe (I live in Australia), who had used it for about 6 months. When I got it, it was already unlocked and rooted by some phone place over there. I didn't have any problems.
Recently however Google Play Services (size 127 MB) has randomly started doing *something*, this despite no mobile broadband and almost no internet usage from wifi either to invoke it. Considering it is on ICS (no idea how to upgrade, or whether i should upgrade, or what to upgrade to) it has to be either a bug or a virus considering all those Android exploits in the news recently.
To fix it whenever it occurs, I clear the RAM twice then go into the list of Applications and Force Stop Google Play Services (more than once if the button isn't greyed out).
I tried to disable the components of Google Play Services(listed below) but the problem continued AND it erased the names of my contacts meaning I was left with a bunch of numbers with no name.
Google Bookmarks Sync
Google Play services
Google Services Framework
Google Account Manager
Network Location
Google Contacts Sync
Some details:
Wi-Fi use only (and nonexistent nowadays), no mobile broadband
GT-i9100 running Android 4.0.3 (ICS)
ROM, unknown if original / custom, has a T-Mobile animation screen on bootup and shutdown
It also has a yellow triangle at the bottom when I turn it on (don't care about cosmetics)
Rooted with CWW (no idea about how that works or what it means) and SuperSU (i do know how root user works in linux)
Root Browser + Terminal Emulator installed (my doing)
Google Authenticator + Microsoft Account Authenticator (i don't wanna screw up anything with these, got codes for google authenticator, need to research microsoft)
Call history and text messages (I would like to keep these and would like to know how to backup the phone first of all)
So I'm looking to figure out what would be the best course of action to fix this without screwing up anything. I know the standard solution would be a factory reset but I don't have any backups (also don't know how to), don't want to brick the phone and don't know what it would actually do, and even if it worked, how to root the phone again.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi,
i had the same massive battery draining. Problem was Google Fit App. After uninstalling the app the battery draining is gone. I think this app prevented the google services to fall in "doze" mode. Perhaps you have a similar app!?

Google Assistant driving me INSANE

When activated Google assistant interrupts constantly, as often as every couple of seconds sometimes. I have tried the advice from every thread that I can find on the subject, but nothing works.
When disabled I then get constant pop ups of the notification prompting me to turn it back on!
I have a Xiaomi MI9 running android 10, but it doesn't have the normal menu that is present on the phones used in all the articles or videos showing how to be rid of google assistant. So for example on my phone the google app does not appear in the app manager list, and nowhere can I find the 'default apps' option.
I even tried - as suggested by some - installing Amazon Alexa as the assistant app, but there's no way to toggle between them and I still get pestered all the time but the google app, disabled or otherwise.
I am ready to consider any option, getting of the MIUI, rooting the phone, setting it on fire, whatever I need to do to be rid of this issue, It's making my phone unusable.
Please help!
