As the title goes, does anyone know if the dual sim version allows for using 2 sims + a memory card at the same time, or does the memory card take up a sim card slot? Thanks!
It does use the SD tray.

No you cannot use 2SIM + SD.
Its 1SD+1SIM or 1SIM+1SIM.

As far as I know there was an sim extension that can be stuck to the back of the SD card, and out of the tray for the cards, at the very end there is a cradle for another sim card. They used to sell It on lazzada or AliExpress and worked in old note 8. I did. But I don't have the extension now, and can not try.
Anyone did?

since it looks like an issue that may affect many models, I cross post from s8+ forum: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8+/themes/psa-android-9-breaks-dualsim-using-sd-t3908933
Just updated my Samsung Galaxy S8+ dual sim edition to Android 9.0 Pie.
I have a tiny sim card extension fitted on my SD card so both my primary sim card and my travel-sim card can be active simultaneously.
the second sim card is thus on the outside of the phone inside a waterproof case.
When booting up I get the following error message before I can unlock my primary sim card:
SIM card tray slot problem
There seems to be something in your SIM
card tray slot that doesn't belong there. Check
it and try again.

If I slide the secondary sim card out of the adapter I can proceed, but there is no option to bypass this.
Hope to reach other dual sim users before they update.

The SD card slot is to expand the storage capacity of the tab.
AFAIK, the tab should work as a phone if you put in a sim card.

Hello,
Why it is not possible to hack a android phone to store the SIM Card data from the SIM directly in the phone?
I mean somthing like "E SIM" for poor ones. On devices with port for two SIM or one SIM and one Micro SD card that would be a great
solution to use dualsim and SD Card simultaneously. I heared that SIM cards have some sort of "Number" who can not be copied, is that the problem why that does not work?
Is a dual SIM version of the V60 available? I've got a V40 dual SIM and would like to upgrade.
If so, which country is the dual SIM version available in?
I mean the LG-V600EA has a hybrid sim (Either 2 sim or 1 sim and 1 Sd card) but from what i heard it can be modified to accept 2 Sim cards and 1 SD card

Hi all,
Considering that all of you users of Poco F1 would know that in this device, SIM slot 1 is occupied by SD Card if you are using one, therefore, it gives rise to an issue whereby apps that want the SIM to be inserted in Slot 1 (banking apps) need validation repeatedly.
Is there a way to make the device think that SIM slot 2 is SIM slot 1?
I know this is not the answer you were looking for but you can buy a sim extender to simultaneously use sim slot 1 and sd card
