Receive SMS/MMS without working SIM card - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

To keep it as short as possible, I can insert my SIM Card and I will be able to use mobile data, but my mobile network isn't availble. I have already done everything I could (the SIM card works fully on another phone) so I just thought about getting a messenger app that would receive the SMS without me actually having access to it. Would something like that be possible? I need that for all these 2-step verifications and registering on different services (Steam, Viber etc.)
Any help/info is appreciated!

How to erase SIM card data

perhaps the P500 general forum is not the best place to post this but as this is the phone I'm on I can't think of a better choice.
So here is the issue - I recently installed a very cool application called "SMS Desktop" which as you may be able to guess allows me to easily send/receive SMS through my phone on my computer. The thing is, it shows me ALL of the data that is apparently stored on my SIM card, even though in the phone my SIM card shows no contacts stored on SIM. It also has recorded ALL of my SMS conversations, which I've deleted from my phone.
Not that I have anything to hide, it just bothers me that my privacy is unknowingly being invaded and my every move is being recorded. If I delete something from my phone I expect it to be deleted, not just hidden from my view so that someone with the right tools can still exploit this obvious gap in personal security.
So my question is, how do I erase data from my SIM card? There does not appear to be any way to do it from the phone, and applications that supposedly manage SIM data do absolutely nothing. I want to erase every single thing from my sim card except the data needed to connect my phone to the T-Mobile network.
just to a tmobile store or your current carrier and ask them for a new sim card they are free just say you lost yours not a big deal they will give you one for free

[Q] Does anyone know of an app that syncs the stock messaging apps between devices?

I have an S2 and a GTab2, which I shuttle SIM cards between to get 3G on either. As a result, when I get texts on one, it's only on that one, and vice versa. Are there any apps which can sync the STOCK MESSAGING APP (i.e. don't force me to use another app to message) without sending out any actual texts? It doesn't need to be realtime, just whenever the SIM card is swapped and the data connection is connected. Thanks!

use g pad as a phone?

Is it possible to make and receive calls ?i tried installing google dialer but it does not work?
Maybe with root we can? I dunno if the hardware will allow it.
GSM Voice and Data capabilities are disabled in the radio firmware. Teh device may not even have an amplifier for GSM. Even with root we wont be able to change that unless someone knows a lot about Qualcomm radio stuff and can add/modify the proper settings in QXDM/QPST . This is VERY unlikely.
Fongo works, so does csipsimple with a sip voip account.
I expect Google Hangouts will be fine too.
Same **** as the Nexus 7. What a scummy move.
Surely works but only on wifi (won't work on 4G LTE). Tried using it with my Ooma mobile app to place & receive calls without any technical issues.
I know it's not the answer to the question but, Hangouts works fine on LTE.
What about SMS?
I tried using Pad X to receive SMSs from my bank. I inserted a SIM card into it, installed Google Messenger SMS app and tried to get any SMS. I didn't see any notifications, but when I opened the Google Messenger once, I briefly saw the SMS appear in the program, but it disappeared quickly and again I saw an empty list of messages. Do you know if there is some service in this firmware that deletes any incoming SMS?

I have sent SMS back and forth to my phone from this tablet just fine. It simply worked.

lg k7 cannot send or receive messages.

so ive had my k7 for a while now, and every now and again i wouldnt be able to receive any sms messages. i could send them, but i could not receive them. they would all come flooding in at once. today, it stopped working completely. i cannot recieve any messages whatsoever. not even from myself. ive tried to use teh mmi codes, but i always get an error message. when i go to my service providers, i cannot search for any networks, yet if i hit auto connect, it says i am connected to the network. ive even tried putting the sim card into someone elses phone. it would take forever to send the messages, but it would work, and i could receive messages when my sim card was in their phone. i am at a loss and getting kind of desperate. i have even flashed the phone back to its origional state, updated the firmware, yet the issue persists. i don't know if this could affect anything, but just in case it does, i have amplify and ive disabled a lot of the t mobile wakelocks and google play wakelocks. i also have apps2sd, and linked my t mobile app and messages app to my sd card. i dont use the stock messasging app, because whenever i try and use it, it is incredibly slow at sending messages. i live a little over a block away from the nearest cell tower, so connectivity isnt an issue. is my sim card damaged or have i messed something up? any help would be greatly appriceated.

Multisim setup (not dual sim!): no voice calls and messages on the extra sim

Hello, I have the possibility from my mobile operator to take a second SIM card and to take advantage of my data subscription on multiple devices. I would need some help: I would like to keep voice data and messages only on my main phone and to disable on the other devices.
I would need to disable it in such a way that the call is not rejected (all SIMs are receiving calls and SMSes simultaneously), so I would need a solution that is not rejecting calls but that is hiding/ignoring them. This device with the second sim will be used as a car media player and I do not want that that calls are interrupting the music...
Does anybody know any solution?
p.s. I will use mainly android devices for my second device.
Thanks a lot!
