Not sure how it applies to your particular version. Yet I had no oem unlock on my G925I in developer mode, either.
I went ahead anyway and installed twrp via odin and no problems were encountered.
It will either work or it won't. The risk is yours.

Nah it don't work for me soons I installs TWRP with Odin it just soft bricks my phone and I have a message pop up something about dm-verity blocked it

Did odin reboot your phone after installing twrp? Or did you follow the manual reboot instructions?

i tried both , not working on the phone.
Doesn't appear to be any non Knox tripping methods. Only via TWRP and SuperSU zip that I could find, which will definitely trip it.

With most Samsung devices, you must boot to recovery immediately after flashing a custom recovery and before it boots into the operating system itself. This is due to a script in the original system that detects a modified recovery and rewrites the stock recovery back to it. If you boot to TWRP first and install the SuperSu zip, it should disable that script and let you keep the new recovery.
If i do that..give me..
Recovery android no reginzed
And stop on galaxy j7......
I passed TWRP successfully but when i select that suoersu zip file from sd card it bring me back at the logo of TEAMWIN...
plzzz help
It's possible to load twrp recovery using fastboot boot twrp.img then flash supersu.zip....
Sent from my SM-J700F using XDA-Developers mobile app
is it solved yet
I don't know if this is solved yet. Decided i would go ahead and add my two cents.
For Samsung j700f sets.
I have found no way yet that does not trip knox. But according to the grapevine, you could always revert back to the way it was using some Samsung tools.
You will have to take the TWRP path. Install USB drivers on PC by installing Samsung Kies. Next download odin and transfer latest supported twrp files while keeping the phone off. Now after Odin restarts your set in TWRP recovery mode, find and install the SUPERSU package you already downloaded on your phone memory. Clear data, dalvik etc caches. Reboot.
Now whenever you want TWRP, reboot using up volume + home + power.
Thanks.

Twrp Recovery and Custom ROMs on Rooted Galaxy S4

I've done a lot of research about custom ROMs and recoveries on Samsung phones and I'm coming here to confirm what I've found.
There is no way for me to flash twrp on my Verizon SCH-I545 Galaxy S4 even though it's rooted and I have twrp manager installed.
Rashr says "partition flash successful" when I flash twrp recovery, but then when I when I reboot it says Odin error. So I'm guessing rashr cannot help me either.
I also can't make a nandroid backup because I can't flash twrp. And I can't use Android SDK Studio to unlock the bootloader because then it would brick my phone.
Is there any known reliable way of unlocking my S4? If not, I wouldn't be surprised.
Thanks in advance.
Unfortunately not. After the 4.2.2 MDK update, the bootloader was locked down and there was no longer a way to downgrade to that update or unlock the bootloader. So you'll see recent roms for it, but they are only for the people who managed to root and stop the official updates and updated manually instead.

TWRP and systemless root problem

I recently upgraded to Nougat 7.1.1 from Marshmallow via Flashfire. I flashed the factory image because it did not automatically recognize the downloaded OTA, and I was concerned that I'd have to go through several incremental OTA upgrades to get where I wanted. I told it to leave my recovery alone (was using TWRP 2.8.6.0 with no problems) and Flashfire went OK. My tablet updated fine, SuperSU 2.82 SR4 (systemless) root was installed, Root Checker says device is rooted and device is reporting in regular recovery that bootloader as unlocked. When I boot into custom recovery, TWRP is still asking for a password (easily bypassed by hitting Cancel), shows none of the file partitions I want, and on reboot system says my "device does not appear to be rooted, install SuperSU now?". I press "Do Not Install" and the tablet boots OK and Root Checker STILL reports the device as being rooted! SuperSU, Titanium, stickmount, etc. all work fine as well.
Are there some settings in TWRP that I need to change? Do I need to upgrade TWRP to 3.1.1.0 flounder? Is it because "Enable OEM unlocking" in Developer Options is off? I looked like crazy last night and can't find a solution . PLEASE HELP!
You will need the latest TWRP to be able to decrypted your device.
Ignore the message from the old version of TWRP about root, it is not detecting the latest root method(systemless).
As for "Enable OEM unlocking" I would advise to enable it, in case of future problems. Is your bootloader unlocked?
Also this months factory image is probably the last version for the device (we might get one more to patch KRACK).
Have you consider backing up apps and switching to a custom rom?

Why is the latest TWRP (3.1.1.0) have "flounder" in it? I thought the Nexus 9 was "volantis". Can I install this latest TWRP image on my tablet without bricking it? Oh, and I can't flash a custom ROM until I get this TWRP crap figured out. Sideloading is not my bag .

flounder is just another code name for the device.
You can flash the latest TWRP with fastboot or Install an image from your old TWRP.
Changing TWRP version should not cause a bootloop/bricking.

Bootloop after Magisk update, what are my options? I need to recover my files T_T

I got bootloop after Magisk update.
Device is:
Samsung Tab S7 T870, Android 11, Unlocked Bootloader, Without TWRP
I can get into recovery mode. There's a green text Set warranty bit kernel being showed briefly before everything, then proceeds to Samsung Logo.
What now? I really don't wanna lose my photos and work files
[update]
Can't sideload magisk since it's Samsung stock recovery won't allow it
Thanks!
Test to disable the magisk modules. https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...les-without-magisk-and-twrp-recovery.4394991/
Maybe a module problem

Thanks! Sadly adb can only be used in recovery mode, and only for sideload. Also can't sideload Magisk since, apparently, Samsung stock recovery won't let me.
