I have a bit of a problem right now with my old LG P760.
So yesterday I was trying to install a custom rom on my old phone, so that I could update it to 4.4 KitKat. (It was running on the official OTA update 4.1.2 Jelly Bean) But I forgot what my password was so I couldn't unlock the phone. (It was rooted by the way) Then I hard reseted it so that i could go through the setup wizard and after that install the custom rom. Only I forgot i deleted the system keyboard. So when I was trying to type in the wifi password the keyboard wouldn't show up. And I cannot skip the setup wizard so that I could activate USB debugging. If anyone has a solution to this problem, then it would really help my out here. Thanks!
Hey. Go to https://www.lg.com/ru/support/support-mobile/lg-P765 download USB DRIVER and LG MOBILE SUPPORT TOOL in the Software & Firmware section, then install (on Windows 7), then turn off the phone, press the volume up button and hold it, connect it to the computer, if everything is normal, the phone will switch to s / w mode, LG MOBILE SUPPORT TOOL will detect the phone and in the additional section select recovery after unsuccessful update and wait. Perhaps some data will be deleted.
Actually I somehow fixed it by not setting up my wifi, and then I was able to skip the setup wizard. Then I installed a few necessary APK files (including Gboard) but then I started going crazy trying to unlock the bootloader and flashing a custom recovery. After messing too much with the root app flashify, I just about broke down after this mistake: I got the LG Security Error. So a few days after that I wanted to install the LG mobile support tool (I did not click on you're link yet btw), but it wouldn't install on my Asus laptop running Windows 10. So the next thing I'm gonna do is try you're link, and if that doesn't install, I'm simply running out of options. But anyway thank's for you're help!

Hey guys, in this thread, i will describe my experience while downgrading my LG P500 to v. 10B from v.10C & describe the procedure for the same.
I bought my P500 about a month ago. It was my first android phone, so i was totally new for the android OS. I read many forums & blogs &gathered required inf. about rooting my phone.
I found out that the phone is rootable only with the F/W V.10B istalled. So i downgraded my phone & rooted it with Z4 root.
NOTE: PLEASE EXCUSE THE SIZE OF THIS THREAD AS THE ENTIRE PROCESS IS VERY LONG.
The process I followed:-
=>First of all, downloaded the firmware V.10B , available HERE:-http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WEBSW/LGP500/AINDBK/V10b_00/V10B_00.kdz
=>Then, I downloaded the KDZ F/W updater software from:-http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8651505&postcount=1 its also available at http://www.4shared.com/file/UleS4dP3/KDZ_FW_UPD_EN.html
=>I was already having necessary drivers installed i my pc, but be sure to install them if you don't have them by installing LG PC SUITE 4 from your SD Card.
=>Then I Disabled the LGE Virtal Modem from my pc.(control panel/system properties/Hardware/Device manager/LGE Virtual Modem).
=>Also I uninstalled the ms visual c++ redistributable software from my computer, which, can interfere in the updating process and detached all other USB devices from my pc.
=>I then Unmounted my SD card from my phone(menu/settings/SD card & phone/Unmount SD Card) & removed it from my phone.
=>I enabled USB Debugging(Menu/settings/applications/Development/ USB Debugging.[THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT STEP]
=>Then i connected my phone to pc & installed the msxml.exe that was in the ''KDZ_FW_UPD_EN'' folder which I download & then opened KDZ_FW_UPD.exe form the same folder.
=>In that application I selected the V10B_00.kdz file which I downloaded & selected TYPE as 3GQCT & PHONE MODE as DIAG.
=> After that is did the last step and clicked the "Launch software update" button and the updating process was now underway.
After a few seconds, the screen of my phone turned yellow with emergency mode written in between. I left the phone as it is & after 4-5 mins. the phone switched. After waiting for awhile I Rebooted it manually. The phone started as usually with LG splash and after that it entered the android logo. It spent whole 2-3 mins. in that state, then it booted successfully. I confirmed the firmware change by going into the 'about phone' menu from settings, it was changed to 2.2 from 2.2.1!!!!!!!!! I was feeling afraid as the process could brick my phone, but fortunately i completed it without bricking.
Then lastly i installed Z4 root app (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=833953) in my phone & selected permanent root. After rebooting my phone was rooted.
I have described my experience in this thread. The readers too can follow the above steps if they wish to root their LG P500.
I have attached the log file that was created during the updating process.
"I would not be responsible for whatever happens to your phone"
why did you downgrade your o1 to v10b unless you use new baseband roms. this doesnt make any sense.
I got a LG optimus P500 recently in India. I installed the LG PC suite backup on laptop running windows 7 and connected my phone successfully.
The software wanted me to sync phone data with pc which i did not do. Later I tried updating my phone software (disabled mass storage mode in settings).
Two options here 1. Backup and continue 2. Continue without backup.
The first time I proceeded with "backup and continue". Program stopped running and crashed immediately ( Is is cos PC suite was running on W7? ).
The second time I proceeded with "Continue without backup". It went on to install a new update installer and continued with "downloading update". Successfully downloaded the whole update and my phone went into emergency mode for 15 mins. After this it got stuck there and no progress. I had to remove the battery and restart the phone and found it in same condition as it was before update.
So my problems are
1. How can I backup data?
2. How can I update firmware?
I possibly know about rooting and custom ROM's, but have some warranty issues pending (dust inside the screen), so the above stuff would not probably be fruitful.
Can someone help me with this?. I'm very sure that I am going wrong somewhere !!!!!!!!!!!

Okay a basic course:
I use Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit, and LG PC Suite always crashes for some reasons on it (thanks LG for the ****ty softwares, even the latest version). That's not a big deal though, because sincerely I think everyone here can approve this, LG's PC Suite is practically useless. Stop worrying about it.
For you questions:
1. You can use random applications found on the Android Market to backup your data on your sd card and then transfer it to your pc if you wish to. If you want to go further, root your device (preferably with Gingerbreak) and then use Titanium Backup.
2. Since we dont have v2.3.x update (gingerbread) out for our phone yet, there's no use to upgrade to any official LG stock rom, they are practically all the same. If you wish, once you got your phone rooted, you can flash a rom on it, through a "Recovery" to experience better performance. If you want to know more then just ask.

lg pc suite has resulted in dead phones for many the only way to revive is to use kdz updater and follow error guide and flash your desired updated rom via kdz.iknow your phone is not dead though try the three button combo and check if it helps orelse kdz is the solution.
regarding backup of data-if u mean app and games that can be done through titanium but u need root permission so just root it and backup using titanium and than again unroot it.simple the lg ppl wont get any hint of what u did.
if data -means ur phone os than i am not aware as custom recovery works the best
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1038338 this might help u somehow i beleive and the error link is in the thread itself
thanks for that..
thanks to both above...
I would certainly root the mobile once i get my phone to service center for warranty claim ( it has dust specs inside the screen -must be between display and touch panel)...
Happy to see so much going on to help ppl customize their phones so much... If not you ppl then android and optimus would have been dead years back...
Use gingerbreak to root your phone. Titanium to backup. Again unroot via gingerbreak. If you give phone for lg service ask them to upgrade. Or use KDZ flasher to flash LG rom from official site. It does not void your warranty
I hope this will help. Do it at your own risk

Hello,
When I was flashing my phone yesterday, something went wrong, and my phone isn't working very well(i guess ). So, i have had Android 4.1.2 on stock non-brand ROM. I've decided ,that i will upgrade it to CM 10 , which has nightly builds. There were no errors during instalation and after reboot i have seen my CM ROM working. BUT, i haven't got any GSM connection, and phone was saying, that "there were errors on refreshing networks list" or smth similiar. I've decided to install baseband switcher from L7 device ( i know, stupid decision .. ) in recovery . I did it, and after reboot i got stripes on my screen. I thinked, that it's bricked, but when I plugged in USB cable to my computer, android boots and , have normal desktop with all features enabld, BUT i don't have ability to go to Emergency mode or Recovery mode ( stripes, stripes everywhere ) . What shall i do, is there a small chance to restore my phone from adb in eclipse, or smth ?

My friend Eclipse is used to build android apps,in our case(Eclipse application is a plug-in that creates an extension for the extension point,to create applications in java form)... http://wiki.eclipse.org/FAQ_What_is_an_Eclipse_application?
As for the bricked phone, its not bricked if it comes on,its called a soft brick and can be fixed by reinstalling a recovery, then a rom that is compatible with your phone.
Diablo 7 is right as your phone is booting up then you are having soft brick it happens to lot of people what you have to do is just flash custom recovery through pc and look for some compatible rom and flash it via recovery
Total brick means it will not boot up it cannot be detected by USB it's boot got corrupt

Ok, thanks for your reply. The thing is, I can't go to recovery or emergency mode, so I think, that i can't use flash tool. What kind of tools, do you mean, which can help me?
EDIT:
Ok, i got it works, First I uninstalled all drivers from my OS, then installed it again from LGMobileSupportTool and using Emergency System Recovery make it works. I'm glad to have Android 4.1.2
Thanks for your replies.
How to do it?
I have the same problem. Can you give me a step-by-step method on how to do it. Thank you very much?
Hello guys,
Ive been lurking here for a while and i finally thought about joining the gang.
I cant find the LG E510 thread here so please move my thread if this place is inappropriate. Thank you.
I updated this E510 via the LG mobile support software and the install [after downloading firmware] got stuck at around 4% then at 14%
The software prompted me to remove the phone from connection, pull out the battery then try again. Now its stuck at boot screen.
I can start up the "Emergency Mode", where its the only way my PC can recognize the device connected. I tried using the LG software again but i get this:
Hard reset is said to be VolDown + Home + Power On yet it doesnt work, only gets to logo.
This is an unrooted phone that why i used LG-provided update software.
THe PC can detect the devices and installed drivers. The software can too, but this error is persistent.
A friend said something about disabling the LG modem in the device manager but i still get this error.
I have ADB which i used sometime ago with my HTC but the ADB says device not found.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you very much.
*** SOLVED
I dont know what exactly made it work but i did the following.
Disabled [not uninstall] all other devices installed by the phone except the LG Android Platform
- disable and restart. if uninstall is used windows will just install it again after restart. disable.
- may be a problem with my PC that it has difficulties connecting with the phone if the other child devices are on
Uninstalled the Update Software and Installed it again
This time i clicked Options > Update Recovery
- prompted for my Phone Model + SN or just the IMEI <- brainfart on my part shouldve seen this earlier
The software downloaded the exact same firmware V10H_00.kdz and installed it. Success!
Maybe there was something bad with the first one i downloaded being on WiMax connectivity.
I feel so stupid right now being unobservant and all...
Anyway thank you!
[HELP][G3][VS985]issue connecting to PC on fastboot, need to reflash TWRP & SuperSU
Hello, thank you for this great forum with helpful members, I'm having an issue with an LG G3 VS985, fastboot won't recognize it while in bootloader, I need to reflash TWRP.
First of all, thank you for reading this long testament [most important details in bold if TL;TR], wanted to be as detailed as possible, maybe it will help you help me better hehe sorry about that.
Let me give you the event sequence if it helps.
> Phone had Cloudy G3 2.5 rooted with SuperSU and TWRP 2.8.6.0 since I rooted it back in 2016.
I was having some issues with phone not recognizing micro sd card and OTG-USB after messing around with encrypting it, I was curious but didn't need it, anyways. Although I dropped the phone in water a couple weeks prior so there is a chance the issue is hardware related.
That was like 4-5 months ago.
Finally decided to do a file backup and reinstall everything yesterday apr-5-2019.
> Rebooted into TWRP and erased everything (data, cache, dalvik, system, even internal storage) because I wanted a new install on everything.
> Flashed the latest official TWRP version for my device (3.0.2.0)
> Had a lot of issues flashing crDroid, found out I downloaded the wrong build, although I had to edit updater-script on the right one to make it work.
> Flashed crDroid 5.2_20190326 with open GApps for Android 9.0 Stock
> First issue encountered, I couldn't charge the phone turned off, because the battery logo appears but but doesn't do the animation and reboots the phone, I read it might be an issue with TWRP.
> Tried to flash SuperSU 2.82 SR5 with TWRP but had a LG secure boot error and couldn't boot up android.
> RE-flashing android and open GApps fixed this issue.
> Re-attempted the process several times, even wiping everything down more than a couple times, including re-flashing android several times to no avail, I was not able to flash SuperSU successfully.
I even flashed an old tool "MR.Bump" but system kept unrooted so unsuccessful.
> Reflashed Android for the last time and start reading again (after 8 hours attempting to do it well), I read that TWRP version might be the problem to flash SuperSU, so
HERE is where I have the current issue:
> Downloaded the official TWRP version 3.1.0 and flashed it.
There is no official support for 3.1.0 for the VS985 so I'm guessing it was a generic .img, of course I messed up TWRP.
> Downloaded and installed official LGMobile Drivers 4.2.0 (latest), downloaded android drivers (15 second ADB installer 1.4.3) and Android platform tools 28.0.2 on windows.
> When conected in PTP and transfer files in win7 it recognizes all the drivers well, was able to reboot the phone into bootloader from android platform tools successfully, means there is good communication between the device and PC.
The issue is once the phone is in the bootloader and trying to flash TWRP, win7 has issues installing CDC serial drivers, in the end in device manager all drivers seems installed but win notification center says there was a problem installing LGE AndroidNet for VZW USB Modem, seems to be issues with CDC Serial or something, when trying to access the properties on the VZW USB Modem it freezes so there's an issue here.
That means when doing adb devices or fastboot devices command, doesn't find anything.
Tried the same in win10, had different driver problems but in the end everything gets installed after rebooting. Same issue, no response from phone when in bootloader.
Message is "Waiting for any device".
Maybe there is an issue with some low-level driver/kernel/firmware that is creating this issue, I would even consider to flash stock LG Android to start from scratch, if you have any guide on how to do it please provide the links!
Additional note: When connecting the phone in USB Tethering win7 gives bluescreen.
> FORTUNATELY I messed TWRP but the phone can still boot android so it's not rendered unusable (yet lol).
I must admit I wasn't super careful downloading some stuff, I did it old school (trial and error) and most of the times it works, I consider myself being a little tech savvy, but right now I'm stuck, I guess I could continue using the phone like this but if I have any issues it would be difficult to resolve and I would lose functionality without root (I could live unrooted though but I wanna resolve this) and honestly I love the G3 so why change it? haha.
BTW I found these on the net, do you recommend it? what TWRP do you recommend for the VS985?
I downloaded and wanted to install this one https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/recovery-unofficial-multirom-twrp-artx-t3657524
and found this one supposedly 3.2.1 for the vs985 here: https://basketbuild.com/devs/yshalsager/TwrpBuilder/lge/vs985
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers.
