I tried a lot of launchers, none of them was able to do what I want. As I have around 600 apps , it is very tedious to remember what app is put in what folder so I want launcher that allows me to add apps to folder A then when I am adding apps to folder B , I dont want to see the apps that were put in folder A in the apps to be added so that when I reach to folder G , all the apps that were put in the previous folders wont show up in the apps list to be added to folder G. I found few launchers that can do that such as XOS and Hios launchers, but they don't have backup\restore options and I really need such option. Do you know any launcher that has both the folder apps + backup\restore futures ?
Edit: Just bought Novo Prime , does exactly what I needed <3

If your phone is rooted just make a backup of your data with Titanium backup and that's your backup and restore option right there [emoji848]

That's the thing , it is not rooted and I am not planning to root it at all.

It's very hard to find a launcher that does both .
What I suggest you to do is to install Lawnchair launcher , drag the apps you want to put in the folder A to your home screen. Create the folder A and drag them into it.
Then go to Lawnchair settings and select hide apps, and hide all the apps you put in the folder A (except one to keep the folder from dispearing).
Do this for the folder B, C, ... Until the folder G.
Then unhide every apps (if you want to, that's not necessary) and go to the Lawnchair settings (again).
This time select backup ( or a setting that has a similar name ) and make a backup of your launcher configuration
You'll have the advantage of a really good pixel style launcher (moreover hyper-custumisable) and you just have to do it once.
When you save your launcher config you'll have a file. Keep it preciously, if you reset your phone (or the Lawnchair launcher), you'll just have to go to the settings, hit restore and select the file you got from you backup.
Hope this helped

How do you completely remove a pre-installed game? I tried to remove "Millionaire 2010" by deleting the capcom folder but the icon's still showing when I go into games on my phone. Any ideas?

The Preinstalled games are cooked into your rom, they will come back if you ever have to hard reset ...

I discovered that I love to much GO launcher EX, but also that it use 15 MB of precious RAM, so I would like to mod the stock ROM for replace the original touchwiz with the Gl-EX.
Is it possible without having any developer skill?
If yes, can you help me found the things that I need (guide, wiki...) ?
thanks!
The stock rom uses just about as much.

You do know that Touch Wiz does not run in the background?
By rooting your phone you are able to dispose Touch Wiz. (which makes GO Launcher your primary launcher since that will be your only one).
i am on stock S5830DXKPB and i dumped touchwhiz for launcherpro.
1. first locate the package representing launcherpro in /data/app. the package name is com.fede.launcher-1.
2. then push it to /system/app
3. change permissions to rw-r-r
4. delete touchwhiz30launcher.apk
to do the above you need root permissions to access /system and preferably use root explorer if terminal emulator is not your thing.

No, infact I thought it was so, but then why in app management I see GO launcher like a running and closable app?
BTW, wich package I need to uninstall? SamsungHOME ?
Is this enough? or I must do something like happily1986 as explained?

1. Yes.
Always install the apps you need. Removing /disabling pre-installed apps you don't need also helps a lot.
2. You need to cache.
- Boot to recovery
- clear cache
- reboot phone
Done.
Also note that your first problem can easily lead to slow loading of apps
3. Your friend is actually right.
The official Facebook app causes heavy battery drain.
Until Facebook releases a revamped app, you will sure be better using a third-party Facebook app.

instead of Facebook u can use 'Friendcaster' app from stores, also use 'Gemini app Manager' from stores to monitor ur apps(like auto start on boot etc).
that way u can minimise lot of wakelocks.
As for as widjets like Flpboard etc set there refresh interval to max and see
No(Folders don't do performance), but widget is cause battery drain

5 widgets are small anyways shouldn't affect performance.
To improve performance:
1. Uninstall user apps (the ones you installed) you don't need or use
2. Disable System apps you don't need
Check here for list of apps that can be safely disabled
Note: if you have ROOT access, you can even disable more
3. Clear your cache.
# use the method in my previous post.
You should notice the difference now.

quick question:
1. Did you restore System app + data, User Apps + data using Titanium backup?
2. List the steps you took while flashing the ROM.
1. Did you restore System app + data, User Apps + data using Titanium backup?
i restore only user apps+data
2. List the steps you took while flashing the ROM.
clear cache , dalvik , data,format system
but after installing rom i use titanium back and remove few apps , like gmail, gvoice, tvout and few other (ofc safe to remove )
You can check the space available on your internal SD card. I have read that atleast 2GB of free space is recommended for buffering etc.
yes its more than 2gb
just changed to paranoid
hope i dont have to download one more rom again

The biggest issue with this is working around the very limited amount of space we have in our /system. Before installing these things, you first need to clear out some space. I recommend having at least 23MB free before proceeding. I’m sorry that this requires so many steps right now; I might eventually start baking this into a ROM and releasing that, but for now, this is what we have to work with.
1) Freeing space
I recommend using a root browser to navigate to /system/app and inspecting what apps seem to be the largest. The ones that might be unnecessary should be uninstalled or converted to user apps via titanium. I recommend converting movie studio to a user app and uninstalling Cyanogenmod wallpaper manager as it’s pretty unnecessary and occupies several precious megabytes of space. Trebuchet wastes a whopping 17MB of space, so I recommend installing Apex Launcher or the stock 4.2 launcher (located in the SkyDrive folder) and then removing this with Titanium. You should also go to /system/media/video and clear out the files there since you don’t really need them for anything. Sound effects in /system/media/audio (with the exception of the ui folder) can be migrated to media/audio on the internal SD card to maintain function and free up some more space.
2) Installing TouchWiz apps
Right now, I have found TouchWiz Home and Weather widget apps that work with this ROM. I have located 4.1-compatible S Memo and Task Manager, but haven’t gotten those to go in yet. Now that you have plenty of space in /system, we can start adding things in.
a) Installing the theme
In the SkyDrive folder, you will find a Titanium Backup file for a TouchWiz CM10 theme. Copy this to the /storage/sdcard0/TitaniumBackup (or wherever you have it set to be) folder, launch Titanium, and restore the app. Go to System Settings > Themes and pick TouchWiz 5.0 and hit apply. Ignore the resolution warning.
b) Installing the launcher/weather widget
Push the “TouchWiz 5 Nature Launcher” zip to your SD card and install from CWM/ROM Manager. If it does not show up after rebooting, try clearing defaults from the launcher. If the problem persists, navigate to /system/app using a file browser and select/install both AccuweatherWidget.apk and AccuweatherWiddget_Main.apk files along with SecLauncher2.apk
c) Adding system sounds
There should be a “media” folder on SkyDrive. Right-click this and select “Download” to download the entire thing at once. Push the files to your internal SD card / media. Copy the contents of the ui folder to /system/media/audio/ui, overwriting the default Android files.
And that should be it! Not exactly a streamlined process, but it’ll do until we see a release of RemICS-JB for our device.

Great job. Two things though, the touchwiz launcher is pretty laggy for me. It just seems to skip animations. Also could you add color to the WiFi signal? I'm really used to having a gray signal bar mean no internet. Other than that, it looks and works great.
Sent from my Nexus S using xda app-developers app
Check what things you have running in the background. I'm in the habit of limiting background processes to two, and everything on the device is pretty snappy then.
I think that's gray because we're using the original wifi drivers rather than the newer ones that are capable of displaying up/down connection indicators but are less reliable, but I'll look into it.
I did a little Photoshoping and the icons should now be green (install the backup located in the folder I named "theme green wifi"), but I have no way to test it right now because there is no WiFi here. Just switch to the system theme and back and you should be golden.

Google isn't my friend, and i even believe more in xda as on my mother
Okay heeere my questions..
Can i move & use my windows host file or an adblockers host file into "system/etc" ?
Are these "nochekin / checkjni"build prop tweaks helpful,.. OK to use ?
How can i backup huge Android Game Data folder, located in "data/data" or "Android/data" ? Titanium & Co, only backup Apk's..
Which SD Card for 25$ you prefer ? any links ?
Can i use L-Speed on stock based, modified roms ? .. Like Huawei P8 Lite persona78 his rom ?
Can i safety disable/freeze stock Launcher, while using Nova Launcher ?

Lemme try some answers...
You may be able to use the windows files if they are notepad format into an android application but you better copy /pasta the url from that host file into the other file which it is used by an android adblocker
I would suggest adaway.
I never heard of those build.prop files, if they are made for a certain device you better don't use it on another
As far as I know titanium backup does backup the data of any application, you may need the pro version, the titanium backup folder can be safely copied from a device to another.
The sdcard thingie... You better make friends with Google ?
That L-speed app should work for any device regardless rom version, custom or not.
You can disable or freeze the stock launcher although I would not recommend disabling vital stock features or apps, if Nova crashes it might be hard to get into your home screen.
For those above you mainly need root but I guess you already know that and maybe already achieved.
Good luck!
