I am trying to restore the stock firmware to the U20i and while (after very long digging I have seem to found it) the latest FlashTool does not work to flash this. It seems I need an older version of FlashTool (ideally around 0.7) but I do not seem to find that anywhere in the Internet.
The closest thing I found is this https://www.mediafire.com/file/2fz9z38zutq2hs5/flashtool-0.6.8.0-windows.exe but the file is corrupted and won't run (or so Windows 10 says).
Any ideas? Does anyone have old versions of this? Ideally for Mac, but anything will do! Thanks!
I've finally found a version that works for older 2010/2011 phones, flashtool-0.9.0.0 for windows (live June 2019): https://drive.google.com/uc?id=0B8HY...xport=download

Hi everybody,
I have been trying to install the official MM Android Concept version on my Z5C for a while now, and I can't make it work. I am using the installer found here (I had to use the Windows version on a PC, since the Mac version keeps having some network problems).
The Android Concept Installer sees my Z5C, tells me that there is some Android Concept software available, but when I try to install it, I get the following error: "Firmware version ID not found".
I am using the stock ROM (never unlocked my bootloader). I have tried first installing the .185 German and Swiss customizations before trying to flash the Android Concept ROM, but it does not help (I have a Swiss Z5C, model number E5823)...
Did anybody manage to install it? If yes, could anybody post a FTF file, so that we can flash it with flashtool?
Thanks a lot
That would be because the concept firmware isn't compatible with the Z5...
Ok, thanks... I thought I had read it was supported, it indeed does not seem to be
Hello,
I have a MatePad M5 Pro that is stuck on Android 8.
Model: CMR-W19
I don't care if it's official ROM or custom ROM. I would like to maintain the WidevineL1 and mpen and keyboard support.
Can someone please point me in the right direction?
Try downloading HiSense software onto a PC, then connect your Mediapad to the PC and it will check for updates, even if checking for updates on your Mediapad itself doesn't find any.
This worked for mine. I was stuck on 8 too, until HiSense found an update and did the update on my Mediapad, then the Mediapad was able to find further incremental updates itself.

You could try downloading and sideloading.
All updates are here;

Any idea which to use? There are a lot of different Android 9 builds.
And how do I sideload on this device? Sorry if that's a noob question. haven't had to do this for a number of years.
When you click on a version to download, it gives you full instructions on how to install.
You are best going up in stages.
Find the same version that you have currently installed, then download the next version number up.
They're all for the same device, but that is a list of every update that's been released.
So install the next version up from yours, then try searching for the next update manually on your device to see if it then triggers it to keep updating itself. If need, just keep running the updates by SD card method.

Thanks! Im guessing I just can't install the latest update first?
I'm not sure.
Mine did incremental (about 6 in total), even though the latest one was newest.
To be sure, you're best off going up in order.
Because it's fully stock and you're doing in the correct way, it will scan first, so any issues and it won't install - so nothing to lose.
Hi all,
Had a read through this thread to see if there was any chance of an Android Update for my device but from the answers given, I can't seem to find anything.
I'm using an M5 Pro 10.8 (CMR-L09 - Cellular) on 8.0.0.203 and the Huawei Updater site doesn't seem to have anything above this for my model.
If I was to look at installing an OTA for the likes of the CMR-W19, would this harm my device at all?
They're both Cellular, both 10.8". Only thing I can really see different is that they are 64GB and I'm 32GB.
Also, as a side question, I don't have a PC, what's the best way to download and install an update using the device itself?
I look forward to a reply!

In regards to the part of if it would be bad..
CMR-W19 is not an LTE model. So if you do successfully flash the ROM, not sure if you would have issues with LTE.
Ahhh, glad I checked! Thanks for the reply!

Look up odin for s9 and a pc based program called frija. It can get your latest firmware fast.
It's quite simple. You have to download your phone's firmware first.
You can do this with a simple google search. There are pages like Sammobile, Samfrew and others. Though I would honestly suggest Frija (PC software) as it can download firmware faster than any website I've seen.
After that you just flash it with Odin, there are plenty of Youtube videos on how to do it. It's quite simple, just extract the firmware and flash the files AP_, BL_, CP_ and CSC_ (there is also HOME_CSC which will update your phone without wiping data, flash HOME_CSC instead of regular CSC_ if you have photos in your internal memory that you have not backed up)
And you should be updated
I'm looking for a copy of this firmware release. It's the last Xperia 1 III Android 11 release.
Tools like Xperifirm and Emma will only give me the Android 12 release.
It was available here, but there aren't any more mirrors: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=17825722713688254698
If anyone can upload a copy of it, I'll even tip you.
Many thanks.
Sony put it in the Open source archive. Here:
Open source archive for 61.0.A.23.20 - Sony Developer World

Hey there, thanks for the help.
I was looking for the built release by Sony for flashing on the XQ-BC62, not the source.
Sorry about the confusion.
Oh, I see that now. It's late here. You can check this out ....BUT idk.
Xperia 1 III XQ_BC62 61.0.A.23.20 firmware with Setool.rar | VietNam GSM Services
vngsmservices.com
With Sony removing software with updates, a archive might be a good idea.
Awesome, many thanks. Unfortunately, I can't get past the paywall even though I paid (isn't working, he's not responding). Halabtech seems to have every recent version but that one, so guess I'm playing the waiting game. If you happen to know of any other sites, I'd appreciate if you threw them my way.

Here's a copy: https://drive.google.com/file/d/15EhKdzxhXouKzJRdKDwwj6f3uglfqIkn/view?usp=sharing
I zipped up the one I had backed up from when I rooted my phone, luckily I saved a copy just in case.
I don't need a tip or anything, but it would be great if someone could back this up somewhere, especially since it seems like the Android 12 release for this model is really buggy.

I backed it up, done. I was thinking of starting a thread for rooted Android 12 to compare bugs after root. This would depend on device type and Rom.
If I use this on my UK phone will it still work or is it going to need the Customized UK version
edit for anyone else curious: Yes it works fine
Guys, I really appreciate the help with this. I've downloaded a copy, many thanks.
One of the problems I have with Android 12 is the assistant just going in and out. Sometimes she responds, sometimes she doesn't, no matter how many times I train her. On Android 11, she works perfectly fine.
Hello, i've just got a Huawei P20 Lite ANE-LX1 with EMUI 9.1.0.381 from a friend. It's my first Huawei and since i am usually running my phones with custom roms, i want to install a custom rom to it. Usually i am trying to get phones that have a reasonable unlock process but this was a gift and i thought it should be possible to install something anyways.
After spending hours into this and reading allot of posts on this forum, i am not eager to open up the hardware and go this potatoe way. I've watches some Youtube videos about the process and i am not sure, if i can manage to get the phone back together. So i was trying the other way with downgrading EMUI to 8 using dload method in order to run dc-unlocker. But somehow i am unable to do so. I am always ending up with "incompatibility with current version" error. I've tried using the dailer code menu, as well as the 3 buttons method. It's not working at all. I've tried multiple versions from androidhost.ru for this phone. There were no options to downgrade to any prior version using HiSuite as well.
Can someone help me to unlock the bootloader for my phone?

If the rollback option is not available with your HiSuite ("switch to the older version" or "Earlier version"), you must downgrade to the lower EMUI 9 build version number doing the dload method (flashing Service ROM ). What is your region? (Cxxx in build number).
Btw, it's impossible to downgrade to the lower EMUI version via dload method.
Hello, thanks for your reply. My current build number is C432E7R1P7. I think i figured that i should use C432 versions but i haven't thought about using another 9.x version and instead go straight to 8.x. Is any lower 9.x version ok?

On EMUI 8 (in order to run dc-unlocker) you need downgrade to .126:

With .126 you should be able to use dc or hcu-client .
Thanks, you've helped me allot! I've got it working and have the bootloader unlocked. Going forward, i was reading your LOS 17/18 thread. I could add a comment there but since we are writing here now, i am going to ask here:
I am still with EMUI 8. Is it actually needed to install another version of EMUI in order to install LineageOS? Isn't it possible to just install TWRP and go on from there?

LOS/LiR requires emui 9.1. Do not install the latest version, flash 9.1.0.200 via dload.
Finally made it and finished installing LOS. Thanks again for your help. I've marked the thread as solved.
No problem .
