As the title says I'm having random restarts / crashes. The phone doesn't completely restart (i.e boot logo doesn't appear), instead just turns to black screen and them comes back in a few seconds and I've to unlock it using a pin (first unlock needs a pin in MIUI).
I'm on MIUI 9.6.13 EU rooted with latest magisk, unlocked and TWRP installed. I can't take logs as this crash is really really random. I don't know when it'll happen. I'll just be browsing or watching a video or playing a game or just browsing the UI and it'll crash.
Any help is appreciated thay may help get past this crash or any way I can get a log.
I really don't want to reset and reinstall and reconfigure everything.

Have you tried to dirty flash the same miui eu rom via twrp?
Any magisk module you use? custom kernel?
I just move to miui eu stable 3 days ago from global beta. I met some issues like theme app cannot be updated to the latest via xiaomi app store due to region issue and Cluster 2 max CPU frequency was set to 825 mhz instead of 2803 mhz.
miui eu stable 10.3.5.0+ TWRP+ Magisk+Sphinx kernel.

Yes, tried dirt flashing but to no Vail.
Magisk modules : BusyBox, camera ir enabler, debloater (only to debloate find device).
No custom kernel. Stock only.
I've been using EU from a long time and never faced any issues only until now. The reason I stay on beta is due to notifications as Xiaomi has still to implement the same in stable MIUI versions.
EU has region locked to Poland as I remember because everything works on Poland.
My CPU frequencies seem to be fine and not locked to any particular one.

Ok, try this way. Temporary remove all your magisk module via teeminal in twrp if can. If really cannot. Worst case will be a full wipe. But try backup as many files as possible in twrp.
But Eu beta will come to an end if global beta stops on July this year. That's the reason I'm in Eu stable.

I have thrown this question in miui Eu community forum, the answers are as below:
MarkHUK (founder of miui Eu) Quoted:
I would just keep checking for info as we are not 100% of the China side schedule for now.
Igor Eisberg(patch/mod developer) Quoted:
If no Global Beta ROMs will be released for POCO F1, then there won't be Xiaomi.eu Weekly ROMs for the device as well.
Mark was right to say need to check on China side schedule but poco f1 doesn't have any China rom at all. So Igor should be right about it.

What does this really mean? I don't understand.. And where can I find this thread?
Will there be a solution at one point or is it not certain at this time? In which case what are the alternatives?
I've met the same problem several times on latest EU beta build with Magisk working in core only mode, so I think the soft reboot problem might not be caused by any 3rd-party Magisk module.

1. Depends on what miui version you have, you just reflash the same rom version on top of it via twrp.
2. This is the first time I flash to miui EU stable from global beta. The ROM is at the miui Eu website. The themes and CPU frequency are the issues I'm currently facing.
3. To remove magisk, the uninstall zip will remove all including magisk itself.
4. That is from miui community forum. And that's the answer I got from the people.
Solution remains unknown until global beta stopped.
I assume once global beta stopped, miui Eu beta will stop too, since poco f1 only got global stable/beta only, no China ROM.
I had exactly the same problem as you last week.
Then I had no special things, like Magisk modules, installed. It was just a rooted stock ROM before.
The result after flashing the Xiaomi.EU ROM was a bootloop.
I tried to solve it two days long.
There was no other option than wipe the phone data.
And yes, I lost all my personal data like photo's, video's, docs,...
Now, I've installed Pixel Experience. Best ROM on Pocophone I've yet tried.

I used pixel experience, lineage but to my surprise switched back to MIUI EU. I was just spoiled by the gesture navigation and had gotten too used to them (and the first party MIUI features like app lock and second space etc). The fluid navigation gesture app works sometimes and sometimes just doesn't. And I wasn't getting enough more battery (SoT) compared to MIUI (sometimes even less than MIUI) and thus I switched back even though I'm not a big fan of MIUI.
I flashed MIUI EU beta (for notifications) and debloated a little and everything was working very well until this started happening.
There haven't been any "crashes" since 2 days , maybe it got fixed. Fingers crossed ?
Edit: Just had the "crash".

Been using it for like 2-3 hours, working pretty solid till now without encountering any bug. Battery is a little off compared to xiaomi.eu but I guess maybe because it is the first charge cycle. I haven't done any gaming yet,so not sure about the heating situation. Camera also works fine.
so in short,Yes it is usable as a daily driver.

No.
That's for phones that support bokeh mode by default.
Installed last night, all went smooth. The performance is stellar and every is working fine. Only issue I had was that somehow my TWRP recovery was overwritten by Xiaomi recovery.
Oh btw you don't need any Google installer APK you can just download the installer from the included Mi app store.
I will test out the rom today but I think I will restore my Lineage backup till the EU version is out....... the rom is great but there is way to much Chinese bloatware [emoji6]

That is what official MIUI does ...
Always have a backup of your stuff not in the phone.
I do not use the official twrp, I use this https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-note-2/development/twrpscorpio3-2-1-1tools-6blue-t3798956
So that there are no problems if you are in MIUI make a backup and before putting the rom deactivate from the mobile the device search and the account of xiaomi
once done reboot in twrp and make full wipes internal memory included and format data (if it gives montage error restart twrp again and perform again full wipes and format data) restart in twrp again and install, should not give you any problem with encryption
I do it like that and have never given me problems
and I do not overwrite the twrp either

Yeh might be but i never installed official MIUI ROMs before this one. Anyway took me 30 sec to hook up ADB and then Fastboot flash TWRP back. I rooted with Magisk and now all is perfect might even stay on this if i can tweak a few things to my liking.
For ages I have tried to avoid rooting my phone, mainly due to Google Pay. But with the constant issues and also now that I've just purchased bPay for my watch anyway, I no longer need Google Pay.
Even though my phone is not rooted, most apps thought it was.. so even the fixes only worked so far.. so screw it. haha.
I would like to root my phone and try and make my Xiaomi as close to vanilla Android as possible. What roms would people suggest?
Is the Xiaomi a wise phone to modify? Will I loose any features (camera etc)?
I have only really ever used OnePlus One devices, and other phones I have always relied on Google Pay access, so its been awhile since I rooted a phone and I have a feeling things may have changed a fair bit.. maybe even become more simple?
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.
My device; Mi 8 128GB, chinese import. Arrived with unlocked bootloader and global rom.. somehow.. even though global wasnt available at the time.. have since has xiaomi.eu rom, most recent on the device. But im finding its waaay to buggy and im very eager to get rid of this.
try pixel experience
stock experience like the pixel 3 xl
almost the same camera if not better
great battery life stable and way smoother than miui 10
I was In a similar predicament
I went for havoc and find its fantastic

Use syberia! aosp based like all but best battery so far
You can try pixel experience, I'm using it for a while now and never thought of changing to another rom. This will be my permanent rom I guess. Pixel3ROM is also nice, but it's just a port so the dev heavily refuses to add compatibility features like IR camera support for face unlock etc. So main features of the device won't work kn that one.
LineageOS is just another option, but it feels so empty compared to Pixel Experience. Yes, it can be customized but it'll never get the capabilities of Pixel Experience, due to official Rom policies of LOS.
And another thing, my device is rooted and I'm using PE, and Google Pay is working.

About camera, it hss a Google Camera port that I can't really remember the name of dev, and you can flash the miui camera port from Magisk if you need that either.
If you have any questions about this rom, I'd love to answer them, I can consider myself as an experienced user of it I guess. I used miui for 2 weeks thanks to bootloader unlock timer, and believe me, when you switch, you will feel like tons of weight just pulled out of your shoulders.
Thanks everyone this is all really helpful to know. Sounds like Pixel Experience is the one to try first.

This is really handy to know. I was thinking today that maybe rooting etc my phone myself properly would give me better control over getting that set up to work properly.
One more thing, just checking over the instructions and a little lost on some bits;
Flash Instructions
1. Download ROM zip.
2 . Advanced Wipe: System, Data, Cache and Dalvik/cache - Already have TWRP from installing Xiaomi.eu rom.
3. Flash latest MIUI or Xiaomi.eu beta. - This step confuses me.. if I already have a xiaomi.eu rom installed, I presume I would skip this?
4. Flash Pixel Experience.
5. Flash Dm-verity and reboot into TWRP (Only if you're coming from MIUI stock. Skip that if you're coming from another custom ROM) - Guessing again, I would skip this as I am already on TWRP? Unsure what dm-verity is..
6. Advanced Wipe: Data
7. Reboot & enjoy.
Some background on the current config phone wise. Imported a Mi 8 before it was released globally, nor even a date was released at that point. The phone arrived with global rom I believe.. the bootloader was already unlocked however and it was in English, so I am unsure how they had the global rom on it.. unless was the chinese one in English? Eitherway. I just followed the usual guide to flashing Xiaomi.eu on the phone. TWRP was already on it, but it is a chinese version, in english, but with chinese text on the loading screen.. unsure if normal?
Thanks again!

You can't skip the 3rd step since you're wiping the system partition, vendor and/or firmware files will be gone, which are not included with the rom.
At 5th, https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/universal-dm-verity-forceencrypt-t3817389 After flashing this, reboot to recovery in order to do advanced wipe. Just follow the steps, don't be lazy!
Not sure about your phone, but there are a high chance of being a Chinese variant of your phone, check the rear glass for CE certificate logo, if there are any chinese text, your phone is a chinese variant. In this situation, be careful to not lock your bootloader.

When I got the phone there was a sticker on the back which was in Chinese, all the packaging was too. The text printed on the phones actual case is in English however.
Update: All done and all was a success. Thanks everyone!
Tried Pixel Experience - battery drain was so extreme had to flash another rom..
So now trying Havoc.. way too many bugs, no sound on alarms, phone stops responding to touch.. ergh. Battery is good though.. haha.
Looking like there may not be any rom which isnt free of bugs or battery drain on the Mi 8..
Sadly Google Pay, with Magisk and hide, does not work on any rom. Altho I managed to get another banking app to work by using Magisk hide ironically.

I saw in this forum https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/xiaomi-mi-9-se-eu-rom.49654/ that this Rom has some problem, in your opinion it is goog or did you find the same problems?
9.4.11 added in OP.
I'm waiting the bootloader unlock countdown to expire and then I will try xiaomi.eu rom. I read that global rom is less optimized than china rom respect to battery duration and I'm worried that with all bugs actually present in global rom (for example notifications text in dark mode) they didn't realeased yet any official update
I get stuck on "finishing touches" - no solution to get it solved? Now trying Airplane mode....

v9.4.18, nice, thx! Only ~26 Hours left, then I will flash & test this build! Finally a .eu Rom, can't wait <3
No way to bypass the counter. You have to wait.
How it works the xiaomi.eu firmware? Tomorrow my countdown expire and I will unlock bootloader, I'm thinking to flash xiaomi.eu fw in order to have miui always updated.
WTF 360 wait limit is for those people who recently got approval or to everyone? I thought it will be challenging waiting out 3 days without rooted device but 2 weeks is just insane.

True. It is totally insane. For what reason? If it will void the warranty, we dont care. Coz we unlock it by our choice.
Mi 9 SE twrp is out?
Yes, TWRP for Mi9 SE is available since End of March it's by MiuiItalia and can be found here: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=1395089523397926854 .. Sadly, Backup & Restore isn't working, yet. But format, flash etc is working without problems.
There is another TWRP going around, but that didn't even started for me at all.
I have installed this Xiaomi.EU v9.4.18 Rom on my Mi9 SE (Global Version) yesterday and played/tested a while. I'm very happy, everything is working flewlessly. As well, I've installed Magisk 19.0 (Beta) for Root - what a dream to have a Phone without Ads again and with some tricks, Google Pay is still available!
At least, one little Bug I've found in this Rom: the Auto-Brightness is going crazy, but only sometimes..? Weird..

Hey guys, i'm not the dev however i requested a Mi9t/K20 build and help them with the initial release..
So guess what, here it is
Based on latest Xiaomi.eu 9.9.26, with the chinese vendor and fixed the bugs from v2 build.
Updates:
MOD EDIT: Telegram link removed, read the STICKY!

MOD EDIT: Telegram link removed, read the STICKY!
Installation:
1 - With a unlocked bootloader, flash the latest TWRP.
2 - Make a nanodroid FULL BACKUP.
3 - Push your backup from the phone internal storage to your PC via USB Cable.
4 - Push the ROM zip to your internal storage.
5 - Wipe system.
6 - Flash the ROM.
7 - Format Data (not wipe, FORMAT).
8 - Reboot.
If you need to restore your backup, push the backup back from the PC to your phone internal storage after first boot.
ATTENTION!!:
Magisk only work if it's the stable 19.3 version!! 19.4 and 19.5 will cause bootloop!
If you like the ROM, donate to MMX Team, i'm not part of it so it wont go to me.
Hi guys ?, do you want to make an offer for MiuiMix's development? Thank you very much

It has optimizations plus (and most important) the chinese vendor.
Also, some ppl had issues with FC on v2 of eu. So it had some apps repacked. Plenty of under the hood stuff

I have no lags on the UI (even on mi-globe). But i never used v2 as v2 FC for me.
So i would say yes.. but it depends on the cause of the lag. Can you describe better, like what ROM you have this lag and how exactly it occur?

on Xiaomi.eu 9.9.26 if you go to browser or some browser-app like, your phone will suddenly slow down for no reason.
Just a quick question please, since I didn't test Miui 11 roms up to now. I'm on Miroom 10.3.15 and 4pda's twrp. Will I mess something up if I just flash this through twrp or not? I see a lot of problems with bricked devices etc.
Thank you
dual apps works perfectly on miuimix, unlike miui 11 eu beta i'am facing bug creating dual apps.

Hi. Thank you for the nice rom!
Currently I am facing the issue, that after flashing MiuiMiX_2.2.0_V2 I am not able anymore to boot into TWRP via
Code:
fastboot boot twrp-3.3.1-3-davinci-mauronofrio.img
. The phone screen stays black. Is this normal und if yes does a workarround exist?
btw. after reflashing Miui Stock Rom via MiFlash I am able again to boot into TWRP.
thank you.

interesting, well, i don't face those issues (even though i don't use the stock browser) but webview apps work fine.
I would say that the ROM don't have this issue, as i never faced it. But it's a good idea if you test and give a feedback

You really need to follow the flash instructions on the OP to avoid issues.
But rememver, TWRP dev is still young so problem free flashing is never a thing atm.

I have the issue as well(xiaomi eu pie works fine).
When I open chrome or any browser and surfing the web it's getting into horrible stutters. That's the reason many ppl don't use Q based miui.
Can u open chrome - go into incognito tab and surfing the web? After ~1min or sometimes after ~10mins the whole phone gets rly slow and everything is stuttering. Not only web based stuff.

What I meant was following given instructions from the OP....I'm just curious if it all goes smooth. Can I ask which twrp are you exactly using? And you updated from Miui stable or 9.8.15 Beta?
I know lot of us have been waiting for official MiUi 12 release (no record of bugs so far, will update this thread if this will be the case)
.
HOW TO INSTALL STEPS :
.
1- Check if you are in MiUi version 11.0.9.0 in setting -> about phone.
1.1- Download the corresponding file (link is below)
2- If yes, head to settings -> about phone -> update system.
3- Click on MiUi logo many times in rapid pattern until you unlock additional features.
4- Click on the three dots in upper right corner then select "choose update package"
5- Make sure the battery still have sufficient power for the update process, also be sure that you'll have no use for the device for the next few minutes (update installation period)
5- Select the downloaded file. and let the device do the rest (It highly advisable to avoid interfering while the device is updating itself)

You will know the global is stable if the eea had been released.
as long as the global has some bugs they will not release the eea.

Concerning the lags in games and stuttering in system animations, that's probably related to device hardware capacities.

In Android world, there is no ROM with zero bugs especially for MiUi, as for the global version it is specifically just varied in regional settings and built-in apps compared to EEA.

With Magisk methode perhaps you can, though I'm not so sure.
could you please explain your side?
aa far as i know that they are not yet releasing the eea version because the global is not yet stable.
Just got my update to 12.0.1.0 (stabile) via the MIUI system updater. My previous version was 11.0.8.0.
finally got it, been waiting since July.
Finally, you download via OTA now.
