Hi there. This is my first post. So I owned an LG V30+ as my primary since 4 months. Totally stock. However, there is this weird bug. Sometimes (often) the notification bar would disappear and only the bottom navigation keys work. Once one of those keys are pressed, notification bar comes back. All this while, rest of the screen does not take touch input as long as notification bar is missing. Please help.

What variant do you have of the V30? US998, LS998, H930G?
What version firmware are you running?
Nougat, Oreo, what letter version? 20a, etc?
I want to make sure you're running the most recent stock firmware and even if you are, maybe factory reset it and reinstall it.
V30+
Thanks for your reply. Its an H930DS Running Oreo 8.0.0 with 20e. Not rooted. Full stock.

Hi, today I noticed this icon in my notification bar, and I really can't find what it is. Anybody knows??

it's what usually appears when the notification bar has run out of space to display anymore stuff....but not in your case it seems! Try clearing any notifications if you have any, otherwise try a reboot
No no this icon actually means that notifications are turned off, turn notifications back on and it wll go away.
Assuming you are running a slightly older firmware too as this icon changed to something that makes more sense a few revisions ago.
Again? This kind of thread pops up EVERY other day and I have answered just about everyone.
Your notifications are off. Turn them on.
Can we get a big sticky thread that says, "IF YOU HAVE THIS ICON IN YOUR NOTIFICATION BAR, LOOK HERE!!". ???
baldi - funny you say that - I honestly thought I'd somehow clicked onto a post from several weeks back as I have answered a couple of these myself

Hi there people of XDA
So I asked about this error over in a device forum here and no one knew really what was wrong and I figured it was just the phone but now I have a new one and it's still doing it :\
Anyway what is happening is this when an app needs an update and the play store shows the notification at the top of the screen it doesn't say the apps name it says something along the lines of amp&_ and a few more random characters instead of the name but when you toggle down the notification bar everything is displayed normally.
This happened on my old Xperia Play running ICS and JB ROMS and now I have an HTC Sensation with a custom jelly bean ROM and it's happening on that swell :\
Just want to know if anyone knows why this is happening
I hope this isn't frowned apon but I managed to get a screen shot as I said this happened on 2 phones so I'm honestly stumpted

Dear all,
yesterday we received Lollipop on our G2 mini. I personally own a G2 that already received Lollipop some weeks ago. From that device i know the new Priority Mode starting with 5.0.
As soon as i push the volume up or volume down button on my G2 i have the volume slider and underneath that slider 3 buttons: NONE / PRIORITY / ALL.

}
On our G2 Mini i can't find that buttons? Can anyone confirm that? This is very confusing to me, because i would like to use the alarm clock (only possible in Priority Mode).
Without these 3 buttons i always have to go to the setting, tone...
I searched all the settings to find a solution for expanding the 3 buttons, but i can't find one.
Would be very glad if anyone of you could help us on that issue.
Thanks a million.
Everyone is having this problem on stock 5.0.2, i think, it would be nice if anybody figures out how can we enable this.
you can find it in settings => sound
sorry for french

We were talking about the shortcut from notification drawer/menu when changing volume.

i didn't get you the first time
LG has removed this settings when you change sound

i had an LG G2 before with stock 5.0.2 the same thing
Hey,
I have just installed Resurrection Remix on my OnePlus X,
and sadly it doesn't contain that lock icon when viewing the Recent Used view (in order to completely shutdown apps),
If you didn't get me - I'm talking about the lock that makes it impossible to close an app that you've locked (by clicking on the lock).
I've tried searching for an app or something which can add that to my phone but couldn't find anything,
is there any way to get it back somehow? I really like that ROM and it works truly amazing on my OPX.

It's not possible... The lock is a feature of OxygenOS and it is not possible to use it on other ROMs because OxygenOS is closed-source.

Would like to update you on the matter: Paranoid Android 7.1.2 is coming to the OPX soon and will have the feature, so all you have to do now is wait
I'm very new to Android and my elderly mum has a N7105 unit. It used to run a very ancient 4.4.3 (I think), but after numerous days and sleepless nights (technology is not my forte) following XDA threads - many thanks to this site - and watching countless number of Youtube videos, I finally managed to successfully flash Lineage OS 14.1 onto it and root it and it runs without a problem.
My question is, can I change the notification pull down thingy (sorry, don't know what it's called) to have the exact same style as the stock Samsung one? She needs to change between WiFi and 4G, but is visually impaired, so the stock one, with the words "WiFi" and "Mobile Data" was very clear and self explanatory. She dislikes the new one as the icons are too "2D" and flat. Also needing to press another minute button on the top right hand corner just to enable 4G is too troublesome for her.
So is there an app or something that can restore the pull down notifications menu to be very close or exactly like the stock one used on N7105? I realize that may be too much to ask, so anything in the vicinity of the latter would be fine (ie. S4, S5, J series) as long as it's early to mid 2010s.
I've tried Material Noticebar and substratum but none restored it to the way it was. All she needs is for the notificaiton pull down to look and function like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Many thanks in advance.
Edit: I'm prepared to pay for any apps/themes if it comes that that. Just need the notification pull down to look and perform like the above.
