[Q] HOW-TO Resize /system and /data partitions?

Hello XDA,
I've begun flashing ROMs and rooted my device a little under a month ago. From what I've noticed, the system partition on my Samsung Galaxy Ace is usually quite free (40mb+ on most ROMs). However, the /data partition isn't.
I'd like to know if there's a way so I can take some of the space used in the /system partition and add it to the /data partition. I do have Link2SD installed, but the problem is that some apps won't install because there simply isn't enough internal space available. I know that it's possible with other phones such as the LG Optimus, but is there a way to achieve this on our phone?
Thanks! I'm running StockLite v6
Note: The LG Optimus instructions are in the thread "[HOW-TO] Easily resize system + data partitions!" by effortless.
Haven't seen a method to use system partition as data .
But we don't need to do that.As AMARULLZ Scripts(original thread Amarullz Script) does a fine job
It will mount as sd-ext partition as /Data and vice-versa and copies system data to sd-ext(which now points to original internal mem.) so no performance degrade.
DO a nandroid Backup before.
If you have sd -ext partition just disable/uninstall links2sd ,s2e or any other such app and delete their script from init.d folder and reboot you will have no app in your app drawer from sd-ext if you did it successfully.
Now flash This Script.zip.(Mount System)
check you have 40ad2sdx in your init.d
Atleast reboot 2 times for smoother experience.
Now you will have Internal memory equal to sd-ext partition so never run out of memory .

ormusv1- stock kitkat 4.2.2 system partition

Hi, i'm just wondering why we don't repartition system partition etc. instead of trimming note 2 rom to fit our system partition. I've edited my partitions yesterday and have 1.5 gb on system, 4gb on data. That way we could have everything from that rom.
best regards

Redmi Note 2 QCOM(dior) data partition corrupted, how can I fix this?

Hello everyone!
I tried installing the latest fastboot ROM on a RN2 QCOM, and MiFlash fails with an error that it is unable to format a partition.
After booting into TWRP, I see that /data partition says size is 0MB, usage and free space also 0MB and it is unable to mount it. The other partitions are fine(though I can't find the EFS partition for the IMEI files). Previously running Hexagon ROM and TWRP 3020.
Is this is a flash storage issue or can I somehow reformat/fix it? Any help regarding partitioning and backing up my IMEI somehow would be highly appreciated!
Thank you
There is no Qualcomm variant of the Redmi Note 2 and "dior" is the Redmi Note 1.

Question Is it possible to change the file system to ext4 with MIUI 12.5.5?

Hey,
basically the title. I have rooted my Redmi Note 10 as i am doing some analysis using autopsy. Surprisingly, i was unable to analyse the userdata partition as autopsy does not support f2fs. I was not expecting a f2fs data partition as the system partition is also formatted as ext4. Without switching to a custom ROM, is it possible to force MIUI 12.5.5 to use ext4 by re-formatting and re-flashing the device?
in my humble opinion you shouldn't mess with partitions
Well, that does not solve my problem^^ I tried to change the partition using TWRP. However, whenever i flash the MIUI ROM, the process formats the userdata partition back to f2fs. Even TWRP will reformat the userdata partition to f2fs when i format the data. Where is defined to which format TWRP formats the partitions? Has anyone an idea on how to solve this issue?
