folder image?

I'm trying to change the folder images, but I can't find the default ones that are created if a folder image isn't specified. Like applications or system tools, it is just a manila folder, and it is this folder image I would like to change. Anyone know where these are kept? Hope this makes sense.
I assume you are looking for the icon that represents Folders and other common windows elements. Use ResHacker (or similar tool) to look in the SHELL Dynamic Library Resource (DLL).
HTH,
There's a great thread in the software forum on folder icons; just search in there. I put together a how-to (kind of all over the place, lol) in the fuze rom forum @ fuzemobility as well. It has a link to the much better thread found here in about post #5. The normal method is to stick icon.lnk files in the target folder that link to an icon library (usually a .dll, but sometimes a .exe). With the 6.5 start menu the icons can also be .png files. The path is in the startinfo part of the registry.

[Q] adding a ringtone to alarm ringtones ?

Hi,
I want to add a custom ringtone to available alarm ringtones.
How can I do that ?
Thanks.
I found it here:
http://droidtalk.net/how-to-add-custom-ringtones-notifications-to-your-android-device/
Code:
•Browse to the SD Card on your PC
•Look for a folder called media, if it’s not there, create it by right clicking and choosing New Folder, then rename the folder to be media
•Inside the media folder, you need a folder called audio, again, if it’s not there create it as above
•Inside the audio folder, you can create a subfolder for the sound category you want to change-
•ringtones – for sound files you want to use as ringtones
•alarms – for sound files you want to use for any alarms
•notifications – for incoming notifications such as SMS alerts, emails, etc
•Copy your sound file in to the relevant folder
You should now see your sound file listed in the menu for selection in the appropriate sound settings menu. If you don’t see your ringtones, don’t panic simply restart your phone and you’ll be all set.
To access the ringtone/notification settings, press the hard Menu key from one of your home screens, then press Settings then Sounds and Display)
Create a folder in the SD card (root) and name it Alarms. Any audio files in this folder will be available for alarm tone.

Text Editing App ??

( This is something you cannot find by searching, because "text" means a message sent from a phone and "note" or "notepad" just gets "sticky yellow note" software for "taking notes", so : )
Is there a text editing App for Android ?
Something equivalent to Notepad or Wordpad on Windows, i.e. can open an existing text file, change something, and save it back ?
Thanks !
Try the QO HD in this post of notion ink ports

In Root Explorer (which is a paid app) when I long-press on a text file it gives me the option in a pop-up menu to open in text editor. I've used it to edit system files many times. I'm not sure if the text editor is a feature of Root Explorer or if it's built-in to Android.

Email Questions

When I try to open an attachment on some emails, I this message pops up, "You must first download the messge to dowload the attachment." I press ok and the screen goes back to the inbox. I tap the attachment again but still get the same "download message." I have my settings in the email account set to show images and for email size to download all attachments. Why won't the attachments open?
Next question, I have some attachments that show the attached file has data in it based on the file size. When I open the attachment, I get an error message that states the document is empty (size 0KB). But the file size in the email message says 1.1MB or 60KB, etc. What could be causing the error message? And why would the attachment show 0KB when the message shows the file size?

Renaming folders in a2017 nougat 7.0 guide

Maybe I'm the only one with lack of this option like phone had that option in marshmallow version but anyway here is the guide to renaming folder in nougat 7.0 if anyone have similar issues finding it because renaming folder is hidden.
1. In main screen myfavor home launcher u pinch display with two fingers. This will allow you to customize launcher further. There are 4 different icons at the bottom.
1) Customize launcher
2) Organize apps
3) Add a widget
4) Backup&Restore
2. Press Organize apps
You should see empty square tiles at the same space as previous icon was.
Drag that folder which you want to change name from "new folder" to first empty square tile then tap on same space. It will put automatically that folder back on home launcher.
3. Now tap on that folder and now u will see new folder name
4. Tap and hold name "new folder" now u can change name of that folder. Press home button to return to main screen.
Done.
