Hi,
I install lineage 14.1 and stock version of open gapps and now I don't get the option to use instant apps, it's not even shows in the google settings. Before I installed lineage I used the stock rom(eui 5.8.16) and I was the option of the instant apps.
How can I use the instant apps again??
I could not find a solution to it anywhere!
what you mean by instant apps?

But I don't have the instant apps option at all!
I have no idea why....
Heyyo, hmm maybe it requires SafetyNet Certification?
You could try to pass SafetyNet authentication via Magisk and potentially Universal SafetyNet fix module for Magisk.
Otherwise you could try a different ROM like OmniROM which has official signed builds for the Le Max 2 hence they are SafetyNet certified. Might work on there.
I dunno if a larger version of Gapps is required or not either hmm tbh haven't tested instant apps so could require the stock OpenGapps or full Bean Gapps? I'm not sure sorry
On which custom ROM for Poco F1 can I install and use Banking apps? Please suggest. Does it work on Pixel Experience, Nitrogen, Lineage? (without Root)
I am from India... So I tried Indian banking app. I got HDFC, SBI, PAYTM, PHONE PAY working with magisk on Lineage Os. But was unable to make google pay work.

Indeed, I am using Lineage OS, and am unable to get Google Pay to work. Reading through the forum, it seems downgrading Magisk to v17 should work, but I still need to try it.
Anybody who has a working soltuion, who can confirm this for us?
I am on custom rom with magisk 18.0 .Google Pay works using magisk hide and by disabling telephone permissions for Google play services.

Can't thank you enough.
Finally had google pay working on LOS latest build.
Anyone out these using it with the barclays uk banking app? Stock or custom?
I'm on havoc OS without root and am able to use all banking apps. (I use phonepe and gpay only)
I'm on stock MIUI 10.2 Pie right now. I wanted to stay on this ROM only since it's pretty stable however wanted root to enable adblocking and viper4android.
I wanted to know, if I could still use Google Pay after root. Is Magisk Hide on latest version able to do that ? Any users from India, please let me know..
Yes but for that you have to turn off 'telephone' permission of google play services

Flash Pixel experience ROM, but don't root it. I mean use it as it is without flashing magisk. Every banking app will work fine.
However, if you want to use magisk hide then-
Phonepe - working
Paytm - working
Bhim - working
Google pay / Tez - not working.
Yes you can use the Tez app after disabling telephone permission. But you will not be able to make any transactions from your side. However, you can receive transactions from other people.

Yes first of all hide the google pay account from Magisk hide. then go to installed app and select show system app from three dotted line on near right status bar and find google play services.
Disable permission of play service on telephone, contact, call logs and then reboot your phone.
Now you can enjoy google pay on your device.:good:

In India, Google pay works with bank IDs called upi rather than NFC.
Yes, use Magisk & then use module MagiskHide Props Config. I used the above method on Xperia XZ & Google Pay worked again, even via NFC.

Would I need such a thing if I can already pass SafetyNet checks?

I'm not too sure on that one, I'm in the same boat with my Pocophone at the moment as it shows that it passed safetynet, but some apps still see that I'm rooted. Give it a try if you have trouble with some apps.

I use opengapps on my Samsung S5 with LineageOS. I've never tried microg. Microg has problems with LineageOS because of signature spoofing. I don't know if that would also cause problems with AOSP.
If you use opengapps install the pico size. It is smaller and less likely to cause problems. You can install any additional services not included in the pico package from the play store.

Thank you so much. I will try with open gapps
Open Gapps is Gapps. It is not really different from just installing from google (not putting down what they do here, just saying). Also, you will not be able to install on Android 10 as we have no TWRP.

I was just asking for this. I can't flash a twrp on android 10. Is it because there isn't a compatible version for pixel 3? Thanks
There is no TWRP for android 10 on this device.

Hello,
I was wondering if one needs to install Google services such as MicroG in order to use GCAM? I don't really want to install MicroG unless necessary. As far as I know I would need to install MicroG on a fresh LineageOS ROM and it wouldn't be possible afterwards.

I'm in stock rom rn but planned to flash custom rom later because i just apply to unlock the bootloader 6 days ago , probably 3 hours from now I'll use custom rom, i think gcam has nothing to do with MicroG or any google play services , so you don't have to worry about it
i just installed a custom gsi rom and i can confirm that it support gcam , just need to find the right one , i use pixelcam v1 and it works just fine

Thanks for the test. Though GSI ROM says "with gapps included"

I'll try later.
