Well, the title says it.. I dont have that much time to try it all so I want to hear your opinion.
1. Syberia + Sphinx kernel = stable and can be used as daily driver, good battery life, enough customization options
2. AOSIP + Malakas kernel = same as above, minus color profile selection

Is the notch problem on Syberia fixed? I mean, its glitchy before (1 icon only, weird icons showing, padding problem). Is it all fixed?

You can hide the notch, so yea the notch problem is fixed
+1 for syberia btw
I personally love Ressurection Remix with Sphinx kernel - Great battery life + a ton of customization and very stable

Had Siberia installed for few hours 2 days ago and icons looked weird indeed, couldn't get rid of them syberia logo (went through the menu), and only a piece of a new notification icon was displayed. I vote for CrDroid - best so far.

Frankly I'd say xiaomi.eu ROM with stock kernel. I've tried different kernels, sphinx, malakas etc, each one actually provided worse performance than stock for me.
What I've found is .EU (version 9.6.27), plus the fde.ai Magisk module works beautifully in terms of performance and battery. I happen to like miui, but this is all personal choice

I'll switch back to stock once they make the led notification brighter. I can't see it on stock its very low brightness.

Hey everyone! Which ROM you are using on your le max 2 for daily usage and why?
Latest AOSIP. Why: Oreo, everything works like a charm, it's fast and has a decent battery life (3-4hrs SOT, AccuBattery says the current battery capacity is 2750mAh)
Latest LineageOS, because it's simply most stable
EUI stock...'til now, marvelous
I have tried several roms and my favorite so far is AOSiP, its stable, fast and battery-friendly, although sometimes the animations don't feel smooth at all, but not really a problem for me
and also the boot animation is sick

All other custom roms have the same bugs, because all of them are modified LineageOS.
The only difference - they keep adding their own bugs, not existing in Lineage.

But lineage os lags more than aex. Lineage has dynamic color contrast bug. Lineage heats too much. Lineage has YouTube playback bug. And these bugs are not in others. Am I missing something. And are these bugs solved.
I've been using AEX 0417 build for awhile now as it's quite stable, battery friendly, relatively bug free - as a matter of fact, I've not noticed any - and has a number of features I like. I've also checked out Dirty Unicorns 12.X and MSM Extended, both of which are very good, but weren't as battery friendly - this may have changed with the newest builds, though... ?

I tested Carbon for a evening once recently. Besides its gestures, which didn't appeal to me, I found it be a bit bland like Lineage really.

In my opinion, just use Resurrection Remix OS, I know it's oreo. But it literally got no bugs in it. The battery is just great I am using this ROM for now a week I think, great perfomance and battery. I was actually thinking to flash Havoc but people said it has a reanimation bug, so I decided to go for RR instead.
Oreo roms are the best right now, because they have got better. While Pie roms are still under development and has some annoying bugs which can be bad for daily driver.
I use Nitrogen os pie as my daily driver for a while (with agni kernel), no annoying bugs, great performance, amazing battery life (compared to other pie roms). If you can live without heavy customizations (color changing is available after flashing a zip or a magisk module), than this is the best choice in my opinion.

Hi guys,
I'm a new Poco user. I've checked out the forums and saw lots of ROMs, Kernels and even Recovery software. I'm a bit overwhelmed for the first time as I'm liking stock MIUI 10 for now. Can someone enlighten me on which ROM has the most features, what ROM is the most stable, which kernels go best with which?
Stability: BaikalOS, Pixel Experience
Powersave: BaikalOS
Customizability / Extra Features: Resurrection Remix, crDroid, Havoc-OS / POSP
Performance: Nitrogen OS, crDroid
Pixel Like: Havoc-OS, Pixel Experience
These are the ones I know but haven't tested all of them. Tell me if I'm missing any.

Wow thanks. Does BaikalOS have the app cloning feature? How good is the battery life compared to MIUI 10?
best kernels
Sphinx and Franco kernel
Best roms
Lineage and stock
Stock is of course the most stable, but the beta builds always have bugs they always remove settings add settings fix something break something.

It doesn't have the app cloning and battery life is a lot better if you manage the background apps strictly but you still have to install it and test it yourself.

There is no best rom or best kernel, it all comes down to personal preference...
Lineage Pie with Franco kernel.
..and go with pixel experience only if u r into very stock version which I think is overrated given its customization limitations.
I have always hated chinese ROMs or apps, take MIUI for example they have like hundreds of apps injected into core system (miui security, miui contacts, miui dialer, miui messaging, miui this that and what not...)

Hi fellow Flip! Yeah I went with Ambasidii rom based on stock MIUI since I need the cloned app feature for ROM (Slave priest). It's rooted and has derp kernel. Battery life is quite a lot better. I was redownloading all my apps overnight and it only drained about 7% of battery life which is 1% more than full stock on idle without WiFi.
By the way, do you do a battery recalibration once you switch roms? Standby time is fantastic on mine but it seems to drain a little harder while playing ROM compared to stock.

There's no need to recalibrated when switching roms. Recommended calibrating your battery ( each month or every three months )
android phones this days use lithium-ion (Li-ion) or lithium-polymer (Li-po) batteries for Poco F1 . This batteries don’t need to be fully discharged, and come with smart chips that make calibration unnecessary and that's the good thing for us.
Just want to share this method , i do this all the time after switching custom roms.
First, drain your phone’s battery completely. Don’t charge it at any point while it’s draining. Let the phone keep working till it shuts itself off. Once the phone has shut itself off, restart it so it shuts off again. Even though the battery was at 0 percent, it has a few reserves left. Now, while the phone is off, charge it to 100 percent. It’s safe to use quick chargers for this, but make sure you hit 100 percent. Once it’s fully charged, unplug it and boot your phone. Android might not say it’s at 100 percent, and that’s okay. In that case, plug the charger again and let it get to 100 percent. then unplug it. This cycle of full drain and recharging lets the chip calibrate its readings with the battery’s charge cycle.
hope that helps:good:

Hi there,
i read a lot about custom roms and kernels.
So now I'm not sure which rom+kernel gives you all the features like IR-Faceunlock, fingerprint scanner and a overall smooth and stable experience.
Here is what i need:
+ Stable
+ IR-Faceunlock
+ WiFi
+ Calling
+ fingerprint scanner
+ underclocking CPU and GPU ( I don't play any games like PUBG)
+ improved Batterylife for a lot more then 8 hours SOT
+ GCAM support
+ 4kVideos + Slowmotion
+ Notification icons
and here is what i do:
+ Browsing
+ reading Mails
+ Whatsapp
+ Photos
What i read so far is, that AEX Pie + Derp kernel should work for my profile.
Also is there a way not to use GAPPS and go with MicroG for better batterylife?
Maybe you can tell me your favorite rom and kernel or give me some hints.
Thank you and best regards.
Ninja
Simply stay on stock rom
Stock Rom is just OK...
But i come from aex (motog5plus) pie and it was very stable and i liked the customize my mobilephone.
Also i read that stock miui comes with bloatware. Is there a way to eliminate that?
Pixel Experience Rom + Franco kernel (with manger).
PE is the most stable Rom yet (imo).
Network coverage is best among all custom roms.
Fingerprint+ ir scanner works (little slower than stock miui).
User interference is butter smooth and almost bug free to be used as a daily driver.
Gcam is inbuilt ( including playmojis).
Use latest miui stock camera magisk module for 4k/slow-motion.
Use Franco kernel manger app for underclocking cpu/gpu.
On the downside, it doesn't offer that much of customisations. All features for notifications work, but I would have been happier if there was a way to customise status bar icon.
Go for nitrogen os for better customisation options. Lineage OS for better performance. But they are little buggy sometimes.
I think PE is best for you according to your user needs.
Xiaomi eu for stock miui.
Lineage OS or pixel exprience with franco or sphinx kernel should be good/enough for that you want.
Just to throw in my 2cents here.
I've used PE rom for a while. SOT was around 6hours, which some video, music, bluetooth, wifi, data on etc.
However, moved back to stock rom with the extreme kernel (not overclocked standard 60ghz) and I'm now at over 8 hours SOT.
Waiting for the phone to die, so far its been 26 hours and I have 22% battery left. Must add that my usage wasn't that heavy yet. However will update in a few days again.

just to clarify, the 60 ghz of extreme kernel you're mentioning has nothing to do with overclock; it's just the refresh rate of the screen and it is not affecting battery performances; you could use also 70 ghz if your display support it without any drop of battery performances.

Havoc 2.2 and twisted kernel 4.1.
Stability and Customization. SOT - 7-8 hrs.
or
Oxygen OS with default kernel.
Stable and Smooth.

Well, I would suggest you to try OxygenOS port with Sphinx kernel. It's super smooth and battery life is great, without crazy tweaks and OCing every damn thing.

I want to gather people opinions here.

I've been using de-bloated MIUI 11 (Locked Bootloader) since long. Its been working quite nicely.
But lately the battery life has really been degraded over time.
-So i was thinking to flash NGK on MIUI , & would really love to know your @magaedy review regarding the battery life, issues & stability.
- Also after flashing the custom kernel, i would not be able to install MIUI OTA updates, or there's a workaround

For performance and battery they are excellent both of them with no tiny issue
