I am with you on this...
Also got a 1/8/2100 but BT cannot tether to my phone for network... It's a known bug in most TS F/W... There is a customize F/W which fixed this, but it's not for 1/8/2100
As for the Shake problem, it seems except some early 512/4/1900 model F/W, the accelerator (to detect the shaking) is turned off if screen is off. There is no work around except modify the source of kernel library, which is not release properly (it will not built properly to be run on TS).
So we are stuck here... From Omate/LLP said Omate plan to release 4.4 F/W after getting 4.4 source code from MTK at Jul, that would be our only and last chance on those two issues.
I hope this 4.4 update happens, but I doubt it will. LLPen will probably advise TS1 owners to purchase a TS2 in order to maybe get a firmware upgrade that will be useful, claiming the original TrueSmarts are End of Life already. I hope not, but I don't think with all the different indistinguishable and incompatible hardware revisions of the TrueSmart, that Omate has any real intention of upgrading our firmwares to even 4.3

I have a SM G900H (that's what the sticker inside says) that was an e-bay purchase from a Hong Kong seller. I have had a couple of small problems using it, but recently it has started getting worse so I want to try to flash another ROM. The problem now is, after trying to find out more about the phone I'm not sure exactly what hardware I have. Is there a PC utility that can "investigate" my phone, and tell me what exactly I have ?

Please mention the types of problems you are facing. G900H is the International Exynos model. I have the same phone.
The ROM development for G900H is slow for some odd reason. To fix issues you are facing, which may be software related, I'd suggest you download and flash the official firmware.
Thank you for replying. I have had problems sometime with charging, the screenbegins to fade and if I'm too slow to respond by disconnecting the phonewill not turn on for a couple of hours. Some apps do not appear to work but iI think that the problem there is related to GPS issues. My GPS is rubbish. When I get to another device later I can state what shows as the model on Bluetooth. I can only remember the beginning which is ALPS. I would like to consider flashing a new ROM but I'm trying to discover what exactly I have inside so that I install the correct ROM for the phone. I have requested information from the eBAY seller but had no response.
Thank you again. More details later.
Apologies for not responding sooner, recent personal issues had taken priority and I've since become accustomed to some of the peculiarities of this phone. The issue I've had with charging (see above) could probably be explained away with a suspect charge cable/connector, as since then I have replaced the cable and secured it for my own personal use. Where the maps are concerned (including sat-nav) the GPS leaves a lot to be desired, in some instances it would appear to be up to a half-mile wrong. This also affects another APP that I cannot use for work purposes (OMNICOM'S Track Locater) that defines my location to help me establish if I'm within a "safe" area. Another APP I still cannot use is a reader of the new QR codes, that relies on the camera function and not the GPS though. I also keep getting notified that "the Galaxy Note 3 widget has stopped working". I have no idea what that means to me, or what it does for this phone. I'm glad that I've now found someone else with this phone, I was beginning to think that it was unique. I include this screen shot taken from the "about" section of the phone, maybe this build has been improved.
I currently have a Sony Smartwatch 3 and have had it for almost a year. I've had my eye on the Gear S for some time and feel like pulling the trigger. I have a few questions if someone has some time.
1. How do you feel like the watch we will be supported going forward? I dont want to buy something the devolper has moved on from.
2. How is the GPS on the watch? The SM3 does ok. I typically have my phone within range but there arw times when I'm away.
3. Is S Health an inferior product on this watch compaired to the S2? If my phone is on my desk but i am walking around, does it track my steps from the watch? I'm using Fit currently.
4. I do not plan on using a seperate cellular plan for this watch. Because of this i assume i can purcahse from any carrier or even with a bad esn. Are the different carrier version different at all? Likewise, can i use my watch to answer and talk through the watch while connected to my phone or will that feature only work for those watches with a separate plan?
5. I've seen some metal bands here and there. Are they homemade ones or have the metal bands evolved enough over time. I have the rubber clasp band on my SM3 and I'm always catching it on something.
Thank you.
I will try to answer to some of your questions.
1. sadly Samsung is known to stop supporting devices relatively soon, and also taking into account that the S2 has been released it's probably not long before they won't give any updates for the S
2. i didn't try the GPS from the watch (while it's connected to the phone it will use the phone's GPS, this can be useful or a nuisance, depending on what you want )
3. Don't know how SHealth works on S2, but on S while the watch is connected to the phone it will use the watch's measurement (you can change it if you want), so you can leave the phone wherever you want and SHealth will take the step count from the watch.
Btw, from what I've seen this feature works even if the phone-watch are out of the blue-tooth range, it will simply update the count when the blue-tooth is reconnected.
4. the main difference between the versions is what kind of cellular bands they support, and if i remember correctly there's an "WiFi only" version too. If you will only use the blue-tooth and WiFi connections then it doesn't matter which version you'll buy since those are the same on all the versions.
5. i didn't see any "real" metal bands for S, only some homemade ones, i don't think Samsung released any other type of bands than the one that the watch comes with.
As a note for 1., Biktor_GJ is working on porting the full android to the GearS. He also said that he will try to port the Android Wear, but it might not work since he had some trouble with the video drivers.

Thank you for your input. I'll be honest, I do enjoy AW and it seems as if Google Fit has finally got their act together. I guess I really need to put one on my wrists and go from there. If anyone else has any input feel free to add it.
Gearbest is selling the GTR international version that supports English. I'm in the US and I was wondering if I buy the international version now, will it be 100% the same as the US version of the GTR when available?
Another question. Is a phone with bluetooth 4.2 compatible with the new Amazfit GTR bluetooth 5.0?
Usually there are only two versions :Chinese and International, there was never an US only version of BIP, Pace, Stratos or Verge...

This is text from Xiaomi Today: "Being the smartwatch, the Amazfit GTR concludes multiple connectivity options for better performance. It comes with jam-packed features like Bluetooth 5.0v for wireless connectivity". It doesn't matter which operating system running in yours device, bluetooth technology in all devices is just bluetooth. So if is written 5th version, that's mean must be 5th version and it's doesn't matter iPhone or Samsung, Xiaomi, Sony, Huawei and ect. android or Apple's software.
I can't quite follow what Xiaomi Today is saying in your quoted text. Will my phone need Bluetooth 5.0 for it to work with the GTR? Or will 4.2 be compatible?

With a quick google search I found that the watch has Bluetooth 5.0 or 4.2 LE (and there where shops naming both -.-), it may be the different released versions... Sorry for the comment but... Chinese being Chinese...
Anyway back to the question, I found an article pointing out that Bluetooth v5.0 is backwards compatible with v4 and also improves the connection, hence, it should work.
I guess the confusion is that the articles I have seen only mention that phones with Bluetooth v5.0 will work with accessories (speakers, watches, etc) that only have Bluetooth v4+ and not the other way around. Do accessories with Bluetooth v5.0 work with phones with only Bluetooth 4+?
any news about tha pairing issue? its still happening or they fixed the problem?

I'm not aware of a pairing issue. Where are you hearing this?
I read under some YouTube comments. But back to the first question it will work correctly with 4.2 Bluetooth system or we need 5.0 on our phone. Any experience? (I talked some people but all of them used Bluetooth 5.0 so now I don't have correct info about working with older sys). I want to buy this watch but I have a xiaomi mi a2 lite and now I don't want to change the phone

I'm still waiting to receive my GTR so I can't answer whether a 4.2 bluetooth phone will work with it. Being that only a few high end phones with bluetooth 5.0 are available at this time, I would think we'd be hearing complaints about the GTR not working on older phones (4.x). So I'm leaning toward it will work fine. I will come back to this post to confirm the 4.2 question when I receive my GTR.
What do people think the outlook is like in terms of updates to this watch, new faces etc?

Amazfit ensures that GTR paring works fine starting from Android 5.0, and there were no Bluetooth 5.0 devices at the time it was released. That's why I assume that a 4.2 Bluetooth phone will have no pairing issues.

Xiaomi devices are known for their popularity in the developer community, I expect the same to continue with this device. The Mi Band 4 was recently released and there are already over a thousand watch faces for that bad boy, and it has already gotten a few firmware updates.

Hello,
I just received the beautiful Amazfit GTR 47mm aluminum version. I made all the updates of the watch, the font, the A-GPS... but the GPS can't be found / detected in France! I stay more than 3 minutes in the same place, in a clear place where there are no or very few buildings, but the GPS doesn't work...
I compared with my Amazfit Pace... which finds the GPS signal in less than 15 seconds! Look : i.ibb.co/8z5rwzZ/pace-vs-gtr-fr.jpg
By the way, I already reset the Amazfit GTR, I restarted the watch several times, I did the calibration to the compass. Nothing works
Someone had the same problem?

For me everything work ok on GTR Global version...
For Compass did u make this (∞) motion?
One more thing, this ceramic bezel is very soft, I already have a micro scratch! I didn’t drop it, I take it off at night ...
I can confirm, that GTR (international) pairs with my iPhone7 (bt 4.2) no problem. Battery life seems very good 4% battery used on the first day and night (with all the initial tinkering with a new toy ) without continuous HR and gps.

Hello i have a similar problem. GPS fixing is very very slow and GPS isnt working until A-GPS data is updated. But i can't find anywhere in Amazfit app where i can manually update A-GPS data. Do you know is there any option in Amazfit app to update A-GPS manually? Also have alluminium Aloy version.
Hey guys!
Bought myself a Stratos 3 early this summer which was replaced under warranty because the battery was drained in a few hours, GPS unable to locate etc.
However, I could pair it with the (then) Amazfit App on my iPhone 11.
Last week I got my brand new replacement device which is impossible to pair with the (new) Zepp app. I’ve tried a million tips found online but it just won’t pair with my phone. I’ve scanned the QR code about 5000 times without success.
Tried with a friend’s Samsung model whatever and managed to link the device to my account. Then the watch is “unlocked”.
However, when trying to open the settings I keep getting the message “Unfortunately settings has stopped”. It still won’t sync with the iPhone and when resetting the device to factory settings I’m back at square one, unable to pair with iPhone.
Latest firmware in place according to the device when it’s “working”.
I’ve already contacted the company I’ve bought it from and I will return it the coming Monday.
However, I do like the looks of it and functions (when it’s working) so I thought I’d check with you guys if there are any ideas to get it working properly.
Thanks in advance!
Just update thé watch to latest Fw (search New Fw from the watch connected in WiFi) the app is unable to find it.
How do I do that when the watch says it has the latest fw?
Connect the watch to the WiFi then check update from the watch
So, i did pair it again with the Android, updated the device to latest fw.
It still won’t sync with my iPhone
Wonder if it’s something wrong with the Zepp app?
Anyway, I’ve had it with Amazfit. I’m returning it tomorrow.
I’m sorry to hear that, hope you approached [email protected]
I did the same thing, made a video and shared it with them selling hello. Eventually with a lot of issues. I gave up on the Stratos 3 Watch.
Now I don’t have to worry.
Plppppppppp
I haven’t reached out to their support, I cannot really see that they could help me out with this.
Anyway, fed up with trying to get it to work with me so it’s being sent back.
Might get an Honor Magicwatch 2 instead, they seem quite similar both in appearance and function.
Are you sure?? Does it work with iPhone as in iOS
As a last resort sort of try, I reached out to their support but to say the least, their support sucks a*s!
Haven’t sent it back yet, but will any day now.
Can anyone confirm that their Stratos 3 works fine with the iOS Zepp app? Particularly, Stratos 3 and an iOS iPhone 11? The fact that the watch works fine with Samsung Android devices but not with my (or anyone else’s iOS) device suggests that it’s their iOS Zepp app that’s corrupt!
Thanks!
Here many problems with iOS an Stratos 3. But same problems with both Zepp and Amazfit
New Zepp update for iOS released today
They’ve released numerous app updates during the past weeks/months but none of them has cured my problem
I’m traveling today but will check when I get home, fingers crossed.
Nope, doesn’t work.
With this I give up on any Amazfit/Huami watches (and all other products).
When clearly pointing out that Stratos 3 and the iOS Zepp app doesn’t work, total silence from the Amazfit support.
Never have I had a worser customer experience but I guess that I shouldn’t expect more..
