LG V30+ - always GLOBAL ? - LG V30 Questions & Answers

Hi,
I have an LG V30+, H930DS. I managed to flash with LGUP another firmware, but it does not show me the region of the firmware, only V20f-GLOBAL-COM. After 2 weeks, I wanted to come back to stock firmware. Ok - I used the IMEI and found out that the version I need is H930DS20f_00_OPEN_SG_DS_OP_0425.kdz. Downloaded from lg-firmware and after I flashed (with UPGRADE), I get H93022n-GLOBAL-COM ... Before the first flash it was V20f-SEA-XX. Now, whatever firmware I flash to it, it shows always whatever-GLOBAL-COM ...
In LGUP the device is found as H93022n ... Must I use REFURBISHED ?
Any ideea why it does not show the firmware region ?

Doea anyone have a flashable EE UK Rom?

As title. Want to go back to stock and have the wifi calling from ee back on my device.
try this site
http://lg-firmware-rom.com
all it needs is the phone IMEI
maybe it can help
http://lg-firmwares.com/lg-h850-firmwares/
Ive managed to flash my unlocked open G5. Now Ive got wifi calling available. You may need to extract dll from rom to flash it via LG UP. Firmware hasnt got refurbish option. Update only.

LG G5 complete debrand from Three UK model question

I'm really sorry if the means of doing this has been posted but I have looked and I cannot find it. I would assume that I am not the only person who would want to do this, so if someone can either point me in the way of a definitive guide or tell me it simply isn't possible then I'm grateful for your help.
Here's what I know:
I can easily flash my Three UK (H3G) LG G5 to the open EU version of Nougat via Uppercut/LGUP
I can easily flash it to the EE version of Nougat for the UK
I can easily flash it back to the H3G version of Marshmallow
In the first two cases I get an error on boot which is related to the cust folder being set to H3G specifically. The only way to get the device to boot without these errors is to flash back to the Three firmware. There is no nougat firmware from Three for the G5 yet because they are utterly rubbish.
My question is, *is there a way to flash the open EU ROM, wipe or convert the cust folder by unlocking the BL and rooting, un-root, flash the normal recovery back on and re-lock the boot loader and basically convert my G5 into an Open EU model with OTA updates and no evidence that I have ever tampered with the device at all?*
Or do I have to accept that in buying a Three branded device it will always be hobbled in some way?
I've always found it incredibly easy to flash Samsung devices with ODIN so this level of PITA-ery is all new to me!
Thanks in advance everyone, and sorry once again if a guide for this has been posted, but I genuinely cannot find a guide specifically detailing the solution to my request.
On a side note, if I flash the Open EU KDZ (confession, I have), will I still get OTA up dates - for example, to 20C - once they arrive, or does the cust folder error on boot signal some borkery that will disable OTA updates from working?
Thanks again everyone
Also apologies but this should probably be in Q&A. Genuine user error!
Just find a European Nougat kdz flash it thro lgup and hey presto ....nougat on the G5 I've been running v20x ever since it was available.
I already did that, but I get an error everytime I reboot because even though I've flashed the KDZ for the open EU ROM the cust folder is still set to Three UK I believe. Was your device network branded?

May be you have to flash boot logo. I have never checked flashing boot logo like I did with Nexus phones.
Sent from my LG-H850 using Tapatalk
There is no Three splash screen on my device - it is just running the stock splash screen now. The only issue I have is that I get the errors on boot relating to the CUST folder.

Confused with my LG V10 H901 Model :( Help needed badly !!!

hi v10 folks,
just bought this v10 mobile 3 days before. it came with 5.1 android version, so thought of upgrading it and found some weird observations.
1. on connecting mobile to LG Bridge, model shows as H901 but update shows as F600S30D :crying:
2. downloaded lg phone info app and saw the provider name as SK Telecom
i have attached three screenshots of my mobile phone. is this a genuine t mobile version ? what needs to be done to upgrade my phone to Nougat ??? instead of bricking my phone thought of taking your suggestion guys
thanx in advance
Do NOT use LG Bridge, or you will brick your phone. Dunno where you got your phone, but it has an F600 IMEI, so LG Bridge thinks you need F600 firmware.
There is a v20L KDZ floating around here somewhere. Grab it, and put your phone in download mode (pull the battery / put the battery back in / hold volume up / plug USB cable in -- you don't have to hit the power button). Once you are in download mode, you can flash the KDZ with LG UP. That will get you to MM 6.0.1 which is still rootable using the dirtycow method (if you care about rooting). If you don't care about rooting, I am uploading the v30b Nougat KDZ right now. It is not rootable with any currently known methods. If you do want root, root on v20L, and then I will also be posting an update.zip that will take you to v30b and keep root.

My goodness, thanks for the prompt reply buddy, you saved my @SS im seriously not worried for root or bootloader unlock. im ok with stock nougat without root. so which kdz i need to flash ? im confused
As far as I know, no one has uploaded the Nougat KDZ yet, so I am in the process of uploading it. Google drive is being REAL slow. Since you don't care about root, you can use the same method that I described above (get into download mode, and use LG UP to flash the KDZ). I will make a post just a soon as it finishes uploading.
You might want to take this time to be SURE that you don't want root, because once you flash Nougat, there will more than likely never be a way to root this phone unless another exploit in the Linux kernel can be found...

No if you update h90130b your phone will be a hardbrick.
You have to upgrade F600S30d But you might lose the network !!!
@SandyKick If you can return that phone for an exchange, you might want to. As @dodo73 said, (in not so many words) you are boned. You are going to have to take a risk either way, but the safest route since adb sees the device as an F600, is to flash the F600 firmware. If you lose network, you can then try flashing the H901 modem. Let us know how it goes, but you are probably going to have to do SOME kind of fixup -- it will not be a clean flash / upgrade / happy phone
EDIT: If you flash the F600 firmware and brick your phone, that is also easy to fix -- and you will know that you DO need the H901 firmware.

now im facing the same problem.... everything is in korean in download mode mobile not recognizing in LG UP :crying::crying:
read this thread by @shadi47pk - https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v10/general/lg-v10-f600s-conversion-to-t3549884
i think octoplus box is required to get working
@SandyKick as long as you have download mode, you can fix your phone without needing a jtag box. What KDZ did you flash / how did you flash it to get in the condition you are in?

IT took 2 hrs to figure out what was the real problem... real problem, with lg up is the common folder ( which is related to the model of the phone) so follow this link for lgup configuration.

and what i need from you is: Which link did you use to upgrade to MM (v20L link?) Thanks in advance.

I dont think going straight from 5.1.1 to nougat is a good idea. And after 1 hr of download if lg up is going to say incorrect kdz then why time waste
@SandyKick first we have to upgrade it to 6.0 to see everything goes welll then decide to upgrade it to 7.0
I have been searching for v20L kdz link but which model it is the huge problem
as we can not flash H901 kdz.
f600L?
F600s?
F600K?
There are three model with several updates. :/ Pretty confusing right.

Flashing KDZ from other region

Currently I am using a custom ROM on my LG V30, but I am considering going back to full stock. I tried to get a .kdz for my original device, but using this method, I got nothing, IMEI or entering country=NL&model=LGH930 did not work:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2220801
I did however find an internet page with a lot of kdz files on there over here:
https://lg-firmwares.com/lg-h930-firmwares/#tab=firmwares
So, my question is, can I safely flash a kdz from another region? And if so, what is the difference.
Or, can someone help me get a KDZ with the NLD or alternatively TNL.
We also have the H930 KDZ posted here, as you know. H930 KDZ thread.

V30 Korean variant gone wrong

Good day everyone, I'm new here so i hope i'm posting this right
This month i got an LG V30 V300S (korean variant), it was supposed to be H930 but they sent me this one instead, it didn't bother me much at first since the phone supports my country's frequency and XDA still supports the korean variant V30s, and I can't return the item too cuz of pandemic.
I came from the LG V20 so I'm quite familiar about cross flashing, but even before that i still did a little reading regarding on unlocking and rooting the phone on the V30 XDA thread (kind of easier than the V20 tbh).
The first thing i did was unlock and root the phone, installed TWRP and installed V300S firmware
(Based from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v30/how-to/korean-variant-bootloader-unlock-root-t3804505)
It was ok at first, but now i decided to cross flash to US998 30b (Pie) via TWRP because V300 firmware is full of bloatware , and i stayed there for a few days.
Now i was wondering of installing Custom ROMs on the phone, it was a messy thing for me to understand, but as far as i knew since i want to install Android 10 based roms (Havoc OS), i needed Stock pie blobs.... Unfortunately it didn't work, i ended up in a bootloop, so i went back to US998 30b again.
After a while, i wondered that maybe the whole crossflashing is wrong? So i backed up the phone and flashed an H930 31a instead, but has no signal
Previously i can just easily bring back the modem using backed up V300S modem via LGUP or TWRP, but this time it didn't work, i also picked an older version (H930 30q) to match my phone's modem version, still no avail
And even disregarding the signal, i attempted to flash the custom rom again... Still bootloop
So I gave up at this point, and decided to go back to US998 30b, but this time i can't go back to US998 anymore, it also bootloops
I don't know what i did wrong now, i just followed the same instructions.
V300s > H930 > unlock > TWRP > US998 (TWRP)
Only difference on this one is i no longer flashed V300 kdz cuz i don't have one
So now I'm stuck at V300s_21e_Oreo cuz it's the only ROM that worked
I know I'm doing something wrong here, but due to a lot of procedures i have done I don't know where to start anymore, the phone is fully working with signal right now, but it lags on this ROM, US998 30b was way snappier
Sorry for the long post, I'm just desperate
Any help or suggestions will do.
Update: managed to go back to US998 Stock pie (30b) no idea how, 4G is painfully slow but i guess this will do for now
