has anyone tried the MiUI MS Rom for our device ? It seems promising, but it's really hard to get consistent info because everything's in russian.
I am wondering if other languages are implemented ? (English, French..) and if there are any important bugs ?

Yea. I am using MS rom now. U can easily use Google Translate for information. And rom is bugfree. And it has 8 additional language included. Screenshot attached..

So I finally got this installed.
Fastboot phone, fastboot flash recovery, VOL UP + Power button, factory wipe + Format Data, reboot back into recovery, Mount MTP, transfer MS Rom via USB, Install zip. And finally it installed with no hassles!!

Anything MS better than eu rom?
Gone back to ROS, some things not quite right with MS, ie.. theme engine stuck in Chinese. High accuracy GPS not working. Cant enable GPay for my card, location access fuxd?..

I was on my way to install it, but now that you say this i feel like it's not as stable as ROS at the moment
I couldn't encrypt either, phone bootlooped.
Felt clean and smooth but I need NFC payments.

Looks a bit like the fixes I do manually with gms etc.
I've never had message about contacting bank, as card was already installed via previous uses.
I had similar issues when buying a cheap Chinese phone that wouldn't let me set location to UK, that's my concern with GPS not working correctly and the Chinese themes store, like my location is set to China or similar.
It may just be because phone won't encrypt and bank won't allow that..

Reverted to Global stable and locked my bootloader. Tired of flashing and all. Lol. Only issue with Stable is permanent notification icons.. Otherwise happy...

Can't live with Locked Bootloader. Oh god... Unlocked again and flashed eu rom weekly. Seems smooth..

I have an Xperia S locked boot loader. I have rooted it using the Rooting Xperia S ICS and GB (Locked Boot loaders) method but was wondering is their any way to flash the Cyanogen Mod 10 Alpha on it with the boot loader locked and unlock allowed = no.

For now there is no solution... and probably never will be. Suposadely people with acess to S1 Servers could solve the problem, but Sony closed server and I think they will not re-activate...
You can flash custom roms as long as they don't required modified kernel.
You have at least 3 custom roms on XDA to use on locked BL: Miui, [email protected] and XCream

I would leave Miui to try as a last option and try the other two first. Miui is pretty different to stock etc, the others are more similar so it wouldn't be such a change. However Miui is beautiful

I like MIUI because it has a lot of additional options and configs available.
Only one thing I couldnt solve: to have sound buttons to wake phone... not very important, but usable.

Just skip to the step after installing the kernel (only cwm is needed to flash the zip)

Please, I wish to know if someone have some tip to get working the screen wakeup with the volume key for the Huawei Ascend G700!!
I recently aquired a this cellphone (Mediatek Quadcore 1,3 ghz 5" IPS screen), in my opinion a nice device for the bucks.
I come from a Huawei Ascend Y300, with the volume key wakeup mod in it (i must to thank the great help i received from the user VavanL in the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=44264908#post44264908 about the volume beep in the screen unlock.
If someone can help me in this i will thank him a lot, cause is very annoying for me always unlocking the device with this little and weak power on button...I remember the key of the thing was this 3 system files

Sadly the G700 (great device by the way) is stuck in android 4.2.1 (waiting to mediatek free the code for the soc).
I see in the mod for the Y300 some devs add the line "WAKE" on the volume key.....but, im stuck with the android_policies.jar, i dont know how to modify them.

The android 4.2.1 from my cellphone is untouched and i just copy the files, i remember to send u the Y300 files in the same way..
I dont have this kind of knowledge to do what the guide says...

Uffff..... i read is dangerous the deodexing, but im unable to find custom rom for the G700.....

Is so weird, this blog is the only translated method i was able to find....but im a little doubtfull.
It's very similar to that one i found in russian forum.
But they insist, that you must flash stock rom from official site first.
WARNING! For owners of the U10 and U20!!! Before you install a custom recovery compulsory flash stock firmware through "three keys"(Push both volume up (+) and volume down (+) plus Power Switch)!

Hi All,
This is my first Oppo Device and i have just received the Indian variant which i suppose is the global variant for this device.
The device is gorgeous in terms of look and feel and i am yet to explore the software which i suppose is the sad part of this device.
None the less, any quick tips & tricks will be highly appreciated :fingers-crossed: I will try and compile it all in this thread.

These are some of the useful settings and apps that i installed:
1. Nova Launcher Prime Version:
No need to uninstall the stock launcher, just install Nova > Restore your previous backup and done, The Launcher also works with the built in gestures and no need of a separate app to be installed for the gestures.
2. AccuBattery
As ColourOS does not show battery stats and SOT, i will use this app to monitor my usage.
3. Andromeda & Substratum
I use to heavily theme my devices when it comes to devices like OnePlus but as there is no way to root for now, i use Andromeda & Sunstratum for theaming some of the apps. My setup is usually blacked out and it looks awesome on the amoled screen. The theme i can recommend is Swift Black for a blackout experience.
PS: Avoid Android System and System UI Overlays as the theme is not Oppo compatible but you can blackout the apps.

Indeed this comes with playstore and play services pre installed just like usual Android phones, screen attached.

i doubt that Oppo kernel will make crossflash from a variant to other one ....
We should request to Oppo developers Team to open this job or better to open bootloader : [email protected]

Do you have any recommendations for those of us outside of India as to ordering this phone & shipping?

Sadly it also has 5 app auto run limit, so no escape from that for now unless we have root, I don't see a workaround.

Well Flipkart does not deliver outside India but you can create a virtual PPO box address and get the device delivered in the US http://www.ppobox.com
I remember i got my OnePlus One this way in early 2014 when the device was not launched in India.

That's great man . I don't know how to create a rom , but if u need some suggestion, help, my brain's full of idea , things (extra-feature , extra-app just like viper4android ) that people would see on any touchwiz rom . That's my telegram @sokazuya

For me, I flashed stock rom, right after it I flashed TWRP, noviety and rmm disable zip (2zips) and it worked. I had not to wait for 7 days.

If you are rooted you can just change the build.prop
But, may I ask why you want to switch to J600F?

No, you can't. Flashing a different model's firmware will fail.

Hello everyone,
I'm completely new here but friends referred me here and told me people will help here and give good advice. I just got a new Mi 8 lite phone and there is a ton of bloatware. I'd like to clean it up as much as I can plus install whatever possible to get the most out of the device. I'm open to any suggestions.

Unlock your bootloader.. read through the difference sections to see the offering good luck
If you want the most you need to unlock bootloader, install custom recovery, and then a custom rom (aosp or miui). The custom rom will not have all the bloat and perform much better along with giving you more features.

Thank you for the advice. Could you tell me where I can find all the resources needed and necessary steps to do all of that? Also without doing all of that, is there a guide to fully take advante of the cameras and how to do it?
I noticed when unlocking bootloader that there is a Mi Unlock status option. Should that also be unlocked?
i found the official twrp app in the play store, is that something that could be used?
what could be a good custom rom for mi 8 lite? whats mostly recommended?

About your questions of the rom no point to say this is better than that so the better for me might not be the better for you, you have to check the thread of the roms, download them and check them your self, no better way to test by your own that all that you need works for you so most of the roms actually work fine for some things but have bugs for other things.
If you unlocked bootloader the message that appears on Mi Logo "unlocked" is normal.
