P7s viewer for Android 9 - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everybody,
I am looking for an app to view p7s files on my Nokia 8 with Android 9.
So far each app was compatible with Windows or OS.
Does anybody know apps for Android, too? Thanks.
Best regards,
Arye

Before today I never knew what s .p7s file is. But a quick search revealed that it is an email message that includes a digital signature. I have come across this website: "https://techspirited.com/how-to-open-p7s-files" which explains how to open it on android and mentions an app named: "X509Tools".
I could not find such an app on the Play Store, only on other Android website which will require sideloading, however I did find an app on the Play Store which mentions that is can open such files, R2Mail2.
R2Mail2 link: "https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=at.rundquadrat.android.r2mail2&hl=en"
Try that, and see if it maybe works, I have never used it before though.

[Q] WSJ Android tablet app

I am using Nook Color to load apk files. I wanted to get the WSJ Android tablet app, http://online.wsj.com/public/page/tablet.html?mod=WSJ_footer.
It is a free app but I do not have Market access. could someone upload the apk file for the WSJ Android tablet app?
I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
i am not seeing that app available on market.
Someone with a Samsung galaxy tablet would see it only. i tried one at a verizon store. Same goes for nytimes tablet app
I see 2 WSJ apps on my galaxy S phone... but people are saying its just a "Short cut" i doubt thats what you're looking for
I'm not sure if this one is the one you are looking for:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9641665/stacktrace.android.news.wsj.lite_1.apk
Only someone with Galaxy Tab can see the Android Tablet app. It would be the official WSJ app (not the app lite) version. Thanks all for your effort so far. The app can only be seen with Galaxy Tab or other official Android tablet.
We should get more Galaxy Tab apps for the NC.
masking
Is there an app like the eris market fix that could mask your phone temporarily of course as a gtab? I would love hte NYT tablet version (though I am sure both will probably come out next year in the BN app store.

NYTimes Tablet app is on the market, I just downloaded it
Nice!
That's great. Do you mind posting the nytimes app? I cannot access it on my Eris.
I'd really like this as well, and the NY Times tablet app!
also want WSJ android tablet app
does anybody have the WSJ (official) apk or know how to make our Nook's Market app think that we are using a tablet rather than a phone? The WSJ app only shows up for tablets.
Thanks all.
WSJ app only works on Samsung Tab
Wall Street Reader (lite) is only limited access; WSR (full) is available for purchase but then you also need the WSJ online paid subscription as well.
On Nook Color of you go here http://mobile2.wsj.com/device/index.php you get the mobile lay out. It doesn't look like the iPad app interface due to the B&N wsj offering but its pretty good.
Note: you must set the browser to "mobile" mode vs. "desktop" in setting for it to work appropriately. Otherwise, in desktop mode, it sends you to the main WSJ page.
Enjoy.
Cheers m8s!
edit: NYTimes app works great outta the box.
Official WSJ app
I am speaking about the Official WSJ app (not from Stacktrace as you mentioned in your post).
The official WSJ app is at https://market.android.com/details?id=wsj.reader_1
The app is free and does require a subscription to get the full content.

Looks like it requires Froyo...could that be the reason you don't see it? Also comments on this link claim logins are still required. Haven't tried it myself.

WSJ apk works on CM7!!!
I've spend that last 2 morning reading the WSJ on CM7 using the official WSJ apk. It looks amazing!
WSJ
How did you get the WSJ to register your email on the nook color? I have downloaded the ap (the tablet app - same UI as on the IPAD). Its a great UI but unfortunately on the NC I cant get past the registration page.

It shows up on mine. I've changed a number of things in my /system/build.prop. Since this app shows up for the Galaxy Tab, I don't think it's related to any of the Honeycomb preview changes. I suspect the following change will do it.
Change the line:
ro.build.characteristics=default
to:
ro.build.characteristics=tablet
If you don't have that line, add it after the ro.build.fingerprint=BLAHBLAHBLAH line on your device.
Good luck. You may have to clear your Market cache and the data for Google Services Framework and reboot afterwards.
EDIT:
Nevermind, tried on my Nexus One just adding that one line, and it wasn't enough. Looks like you'll have to spoof being a Galaxy Tab or a Xoom in addition.
I simply downloaded it from the website listed 4 posts up, from my nookcolor in DolphinHD, by clicking on the "Download app" button, which forced me to sign into my google account from there. I also needed to create a (free) user account, verify it via the sent email, and voila.. working WSJ app.
Thanks!

[Q] App not availiable on tablet

Am I missing something here? App is not compatible with some of your devices.
Htc Evo- check
Transformer Tablet- no check
I need to understand the developer side of this coin. I have been trying to persuade Jawbone to update their android app "Jawbone Companion" to support my tablet. I don't know, but I assume their would be a publisher option in Google Play to add or delete supported devices so that they cannot be installed on those from the Play store. For example, I had to go to the website to find the app because search shows no results on the tablet.
It's a bluetooth headset. It supports 2.1+edr. App supported on Android OS 4.0, OS 2.3 and select OS 2.2 phones. Transformer tf300 has bluetooth. It supports 3.0+edr. It has ICS and is certainly more capable than a 2.2 phone.
Sooo the only difference I see from this side is a bigger screen. I have emailed at least 3 app makers that I use frequently and they just keep saying it's not tablet supported. So do they just have to add devices to some file that cross checks with Google Play or is the code for my tablet so drastically different that they would have to write a whole new app for tablets?
A technical explanation link of the whole developer process regarding this would be nice.
Update to OP
I have found a method of downloading apk files in the Chrome browser with the APK Downloader extension. It only works with Chrome and I logged into my wife's account, did a quick search for my apps in question, then proceeded to download them to pc by making play think it was sending the apk to my wife's "supported" phone. Then I manually transferred the apks to my "unsupported" tablet where they are now running fine, no errors and no resolution problems.
I have emailed the developers of these apps and they have blown me off by saying that tablets in general are not supported, I emailed them all back telling them their apps were working fine and I didn't understand why they couldn't have allowed me to just download it the easy way.
So are they just being lazy? This just reinforces my reasoning that the phone and tablet are about the same and don't require any more coding than any other app that has problems on certain phones. Seems to me as long as the resolution is high enough and it allows auto rotation that any phone app should run on a tablet, and I don't see why they all keep telling me apps are not supported.
Until then I guess I'll just get my apps the way I described.
yap the apkdownloader would be the way i recomended to you =)
dunno why they dont support tablets
in some cases u dont have to understand them
feel lucky u find a way to make it work

[Q] [Request] A desktop to device sharing app

Howdy all.
I'm looking for an app which may not even exist. What I'd like, is to be able to right click a link on my desktop, and be given a choice of "Send to xxx android device." My phone or tablet would then automatically open the link or download the file, without my interaction. A bit similar to the way the browser based market works, but for any site. Ideally, it would also work the other way around, and from device to device. Anybody aware of an app, or a tasker/sl4a method, to do such a thing?

Got a bug with my WebView app and can't fix it...

So, I finally decided to create my first Android app. I wanted to create a simple Web View app for the Android Device Manager site. I followed this guide
https://developers.google.com/chrome/mobile/docs/webview/gettingstarted
There's a part of the guide where you need to add code to force the url to open in the Web View instead of a browser. I did that. On my Nexus 7, the app (and WebView url) loads perfectly. On my GS3 (and the emulator), I get the pop-up asking me which browser I want opening the URL. I'm not sure where the issue is. I've attached my code and If anyone could take a look at it and offer suggestions, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks! :good:

Anyone got the Disney+ App running on a device outside of the Netherlands?

Disney+ is on a free trial in the Netherlands right now, so just for fun and curiosity really, I grabbed the APK for the Disney+ app here...
https://apk.support/app/com.disney.disneyplus#per_area
and installed it on my Note 9, and fired up my VPN, connected to the Netherlands and attempted to launch the app.
I guess it must be doing some kind of region check on my phone at launch as it just stops. Visiting the Disney+ app page on the google play store via VPN informs me that the app is incompatible with all my devices even though I have two Nvidia Shields and my Samsung Note 9 as well as a few other android devices - it's definitely running on Shields in the Netherlands as they have been shown on various web sites.
Anyone know of any jiggery pokery we can try to get this thing running on our None-Netherland devices - because we can :silly::silly::silly:
Thanks.

The app you linked isn't complete. It's legit (I checked the SHA-1 hash against an installed, working version of the apk and the one from Google Play are the same).
If you use a VPN provider with an IP based out of the Netherlands & Aurora, you should be able to properly install the app on a rooted device.
SAI (which Aurora uses) allows you to install split/bundled apk or extract complete bundles to archive for later.
You can't login though. The app will give you an error if you try to proceed with signing up or try to enter an existing login. I don't know much more beyond that.

Yeah seems like Disney has their uber A-Game engaged for VPN blocking too - probably why they launched the beta in a smaller market, test the load balancing and the gate-keeping all at once.
get it to work with anything?
Did you check any other server? if its not working then you should go for another option like PureVPN or Cyberghost. They both are working fine.

How to install Disney + using the SAI app.
Hello everyone,
I searched for this but ddidn't find it. So forgive me if I missed it. Here is a link to get Disney + to work on a rooted android device.
https://youtu.be/SOdkuy9dZGs[/url]
There is a link in his description to all the files to download plus the SAI app. It was very easy and I've already watched two episodes of Star Wars Rebels so the app definately works. the Disney + app is split into three pieces then reassembled by SAI.
Good luck!!
?
This worked for me on my rooted Huawei Honor Note 8 !
I had Disney Plus on all my other devices but I could not get it on my rooted Huawei honor note 8 and now it works perfectly!
Thank you ?
