Nobody seems to be leaving feedback for SoT, I'm very interested to see this. How is SoT right out of the box, and what have you done to make things better? Did any of you try out any custom ROMs?

Its better than the realme 3 pro and note 7 pro but its not like 5000mah capicity, feels like 4400 or 4500 because its os is bloted and not smooth very heay skinned ios clone

SoT
I get around like 9 hours at heavy usage. I was using the lenovo p2 before so it isn't actually very impressive. Its better than most phones out there tho. There is a low power mode but why would i turn down my performance for a minor battery improvement. I guess you can make it upto 10 hrs with that mode.

Battery is impressive. I get consistently 10 hour SOT on this phone. And I love the system wide dark mode.

Easily 10+ hours sot for normal usage, browsing, WhatsApp, line, manga, little gaming (drastic, brawl stats, bang dream). Normally charge once in 1.5 to 2 days

Can i install asus launcher ls send link

Any issues anyone after the new update 1.7.5 battery or heating?

SoT varies heavily
I had the previous version Lenovo Vibe P1. It consistently gave me 10+ hrs of SoT until its death by battery swelling last year. I was initially apprehensive to go for a 6.5 inch screen phone as had an HTC Flyer which was a 7inch Tablet and had a usable 6.5 inch screen due to its status bar and Task Bar in Honeycomb. However, it has been a standard lately where if you are looking for a battery of 5000+ mAh then the condition is it comes only in mobiles with screen sizes upwards of 6.4 inch. The additional pixels and screen sizes eats up battery quickly but not as much because of the efficient processors that comes along nowadays. I wished it had a 6000+ battery
I was surprised that Z1Pro initially gave me <7hrs of SoT. I did call up vivo and complained to them about the same. Their response was as the system gets to know your usage as time goes by the battery will improve and give a more 9+ hrs, which came true after a couple of weeks of usage. I don't play games much, however my primary usage is content consumption and ebook reading which thankful to its large screen is comfortable with the Aldiko/Kindle App. Moreover, I'm hooked to listening to music on Bluetooth on my TWA pods which gives me more than 3.5 hrs of music play per earpod. This barely eats the battery but the primary App is "Android System" which is typically eating 30-35% of the battery in the background.
Here are the SoT stats of the Z1Pro below for a 30 day period
"Total CPU Usage" "CPU (foreground)" "Maintaining Awake Sc "Awake Duration" Power Comsumed
Android System 70:41:07 00:40:35 01:25:30 02:44:06 25% 2:37:14
WhatsApp 11:11:56 08:10:44 00:25:38 19:54:13 14% 22:52:10
Prime Video 06:21:50 06:18:44 00:20:43 12:05:53 5% 39:11:30
Kindle 09:41:41 05:16:38 00:06:10 08:52:22 4% 35:20:13
Phone Idle Services 309:14:14 5% 973:58:32
RF Service 396:25:02 6% 1040:27:55
I had been charging upto 80-82% after battery depletes under 10% for 9 times out of 10. After 10th time, I charge it to 100% then again 80-82% everytime battery depletes under 10%... This I do it to collect Battery Stats for the usage. Getting 2.75-3 days worth of Battery life after charging to 80-100%

Light use endurance

Once in a while, when your significant other yells at you, you might use your phone a bit less. Rate this thread to express how the Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1's battery performs under light use. A higher rating indicates that the device goes a long time when you're using the phone sparingly: no gaming or video/audio streaming, light web browsing, some calling and texts, etc.

Currently my phone is showing me are remaining battery life period of three days at this point of 74% charge but I definitely know that it is not three days but still it is a very good standby after 2 days with this massive 5000 mAH battery , You can expect this kind of life definitely
Easily 8plus hrs sot on light usage
Kinda 10 % per hour drain
Insane
is a one word. I think I can do better though.
This is my light usage. Actually forgot to take other parts' screenshots but you can also check my other messages on "screen on time" thread. My SoT record was 16.5 h and this was my phone idle record.
Conservative user. PixyOS(05.feb)+Minimal Gapps+Darkberry V8
11 days standby with SOT of 10h. And yes I actually do use the phone. Everything disabled when not in use. Mainly 4G browsing, phone calls, music
I am about to buy The Max Pro M1 as a secondary phone only for gaming, watching youtube and email. However, I'd heard that there are some idle draining issues. Is it fixed already ?
Big thank.
On light usage at least 3 days without charge and 11-12 hours of SOT.
Easily lasts a day with full day data on and full night gaming upto 2 am. I rarely use charger before 2 am. I think they did a pretty good job on that one.

Heavy use endurance

Playing Candy Crush for 22 hours straight can take its toll on your battery (and your marriage). Rate this thread to express how the Samsung Galaxy Note 9's battery performs under heavy use. A higher rating indicates that it lasts a long time even when playing games, streaming video and audio, and doing other CPU-intensive activities.

I might be tripping but my Note9 Doesn't last as long as my OP6. I run the same apps and similar settings and my note last me about 5-6 hours my OP6 Last 6-7 hours. All this with heavy usage and the OP has a lower battery capacity.
I feel like heavy use and light use consumption is around the same and get 5-6 hours SOT regardless. Browsing and using the Samsung Music app seems to drain around 1% every 5 minutes. I was expecting the battery to drain a lot faster with games but it's more subtle than I thought. Yesterday I didn't game much but used S-pen to take notes, and got 6 hours 21 minutes SOT with 6% left, within 10 hours of total usage (resolution was QHD+ most of the day). Today with some heavy gaming (Real Racing forced to QHD resolution with Game Tuner, as well as Bowling by Jason Belmonte, Alto's Odyssey) I got around 5:48 SOT in 11 hours 25 minutes (started to reduce the resolution to FHD+ around 30%).
I'm going to kill the battery in my Note 9, eventually. It's my daily workhorse. Multiple Gmail accounts, work email, continuous use throughout the day, 3 games that I check upon every hour and a half... Should last about a year by my estimate. Oh well. Phones come and go...
Heavy use endurance is okay in this phone but light usage endurance is not good. You lose %15 in a hour just by 9gag browsing.

Sadly, samsung put a lot of effort for this not to happen. Right now it's not really possible outside of a friend that don't play fortnite and lend you his phone to login with your account and play atleast 3 full matches.
I find camera and SoundHound to drain a lot. I can barely break 4.5-5h SOT if I use the camera for over 50 minutes. The other day I was trying to see if SoundHound could identify songs from my bad singing while wireless charging and the percentage actually went down.

IMHO, the fortnite skin you get is garbage. Should have given in game money instead. Or at least pub g. I play both on my N9 with the latter getting more SOT
Recently got my Note 9 a week ago and battery has been about average as compared to my last phone. I can last 5-6 hrs of heavy use and 7 for light use. Mind you my last phone was the Galaxy A7 (2017) and battery on that thing is nuts. 7 on a heavy and 8-9 in light use. Might probably due to I game more on my note rather than my last phone.
Off topic question, was playing ragnarok mobile on my note while fast charging when I suddenly fell asleep. Woke up 4 hours later game was still on and the battery is now at 83%. Will this massively damage the battery of my phone?

Fast charging works up till 80% then it will switch to normal charging (and the 80-100% are always different charging method that is slower + better for the battery longevity). You are fine, nothing will change about your battery health. I would be more concerned about burn-ins/burn-outs, but you played most likely at lower brightness and surely not in overdrive mode = you will be just fine too.
Edit: also I forgot to mention that samsungs don't fast charge when the screen is on, only when the screen is off = it charged slowly normally and that's why it reached only to 83% (as because of the battery use, the actual + in the charge was lower than the 2A in normal charge/~500-1A in the last 20%). All good, as I said, don't worry.

Note 9 has a big and brighter screen and a lot of bells and whistles
I guess that makes sense. The bigger brighter screen could be the culprit.
I can go a day (8am to 12pm) of moderate-heavy use with some battery left over. I'm taking 5-6 hours of SOT (WhatsApp, Internet, RadioPlayer Canada, Google Maps, Twitter, Fallout Shelter). This is despite the phone not being entirely optimized for battery life besides using the Device Maintenance feature (I have wifi and data on, bluetooth, location, high resolution, automatic brightness).
The battery actually kind of sucked when I first got it lol. But it randomly improved a lot.
My SoT with heavy usage is just amazing 6-7 hours without a problem!
Has anyone used the dual sim always active feature? Im assuming it drains battery far faster, especially with extended use
ok here is the deal. games will drain the battery less than previous phones do to more efficent cpu.
however anything else didnt change at all or got even worse.
any wireless connection, sensors, screen (even worse), will be the same as in any other phone. so this is where the battery kicks in and gives us a bit more leway. yet it ahs to compensate for the insane screen. so our SOTs are pretty good.
biggest issue is google and google services as usual. with their insane collection of data we litereally pay for them collecting our data. and thats not just a little bit, its over 1000 datapoints an hour.
that was the main reason i wanted to switch to apple, but after a day in hell i gave up on the fruit ****show. way to many compromises.
however at the end of the day what really kilsl the battery is energy for the screen itself and all kind of data connections.
the cpu cycles are laughable for most games, those cpus are powerhouses, almost PC level
so turn of wlan, turn of gps whereever you dont need it, same for bluetooth, cut down on syncing services as much you can this helps a lot.
also gmail is aweful in their push services. i tossed it out, i run exchange active sync and its fine

Getting an Average of 4.5-5.5 SOT.
Same as my SD855 S10
3 hours SOT here. 12 hour batter. Buyers beware.
I read a review saying if it didn't have such poor battery life it would be one of the best phones, though it is that bad it really holds the phone back.
Sent from my [device_name] using XDA-Developers Legacy app
Same as Pixel 3 and pretty much any other my phone in last few years - about 4h-5h of SOT every charge. Nothing drastic.
Usage pattern per day:
1. ~2h spotify BT stream (in car and to sony wh1000xm3);
2. Never on wifi;
3. Location/BT always ON;
4. 30-60min of youtube;
5. Whatsapp, spotify, youtube, waze, chrome.
Better battery than my S8. Around 4h-5h of SOT along with 26hrs of standby time on first charge. I am happy with the standby drain which was pretty bad with S8.
Usage pattern:
Motion sense off.
Tap to wake/Lift to wake on
Location always on.
Bluetooth for 3-4hours with Spotify streaming.
Whatsapp, Youtube, Facebook, Chrome all in the mix a bit.

yeaaaah...these battery horror stories on pixel 4/4xl are most definatelly overexaggerated. It always depends on the usage, but at least from my expierence and how I use phones almost every phone in last 3-4y gives me my 4-5h of sot..either its xiaomi 9t pro, oneplus 3-5, iphone x, xs max, pixel 2-3, galaxy s9+, its always the same..only phone I have gotten out more is my test phone Iphone 11 Pro .. that phone battery wise is simply amazing! probably the most I have gotten out of phone measuring one week+ of usage with 5-6 full charges, but I couldnt make it my daily driver since I find IOS just too boring + i really disliked the weight of iphone 11 pro in terms how it feels in hand (top part is disproportionally heavy) and limited in few key areas like quickly sharing stuff and so on..just not for me..IOS is ok for me only on tablets (ipad pro 11")
I started with Nexus 4, 5, 6P, Pixel, Pixel 2, Pixel 3 and now Pixel 4. Each iteration of phone provided improved battery life due to better software and better hardware. I was also worried about the battery life of Pixel 4 after reading so many articles about having a smaller battery. I am telling you this. All these articles were based on speculations, none were based on actual usages. I've never complaint about short SOT but always wished that standby drain can be controlled better and I'll explain. If you run a test of SOT when the battery is fully charged, you may get let's say 5 hours out of it but that is not meaningful. On real life usage you'll carry the phone with you 10 to 14 hours a day. While SOT usage varies between person to person, most of the battery were drained while the screen is off. Let's do a simple math here. If you can get 5 hours of SOT out of 100%, that means your phone consumes 20% per hour. On average my Pixel 3 was draining about 2% to 3% an hour with the screen off. In 10 hours I am down to about 75% which would provide 3 to 4 hours of screen time. With the Pixel 4, the standby drain is much better controlled, a big step over improvements over previous generations. I figure the standby drain is about 1% to 2%. In 10 hours I'm down to 85%. Even if the SOT is identical to Pixel 3, I will get at least half an hour more screen on time during real life usage.

Totally agree with your theory on standby drain. I carry two phones, one for personal use and one for work (iPhone). I'm always confident at leaving iPhone unplugged overnight but not for the Pixel. It barely drains 1% on the iPhone overnight. I wish one day we could see this on Android...
btw Pixel drains 10% to 20% overnight depending on its mood
Strange, mine drains 1-2% overnight

Both BT and WIFI scanning are off. But adaptive battery is on. I thought it's meant to reduce the battery usage instead of drain the battery?

turn it off and tell me how much better your battery is tomorrow. and if you want performance the way the pixel 4 and 3 were supposed to be, turn off digital wellbeing. it's better to delete it through adb, but just turn off usage access to try, restart your phone and be amazed.

Poco X2 Estimated Battery Capacity by Accubattery

So i regularly use AccuBattery app in my android device. It's a very useful one.
So i installed this on my new Poco X2. Those who've used it know that it can estimate your current battery capacity based on charge sessions and some other stuff.
And upon using it showed my Poco X2's estimated battery at around only 3800mah.
And a lot of users also are complaining about battery backup on flipkart.
Please check and post your device's estimated battery capacity via AccuBattery app.
Unfortunately, what Flipkart reviews say is actually right, this phone has serious SOT problems with 120 hz i only get 6.5 hours sot and 8 hours with 60hz and I don't even use it heavily just YouTube and small games with social media. This phone has very poor optimization. I know i shouldn't compare but if you look at realme 6 pro almost same specs but with smaller battery (4300) gives 1 hour more SOT even with heavy usage(both set to 60hz). This is absolutely disappointing, eagerly waiting for custom roms and custom kernels to make it as my daily driver. Will update you on the accubattery results

Thankyou, waiting for it.
Bafore this I was using standard China Rom with mine and battery was a mess. But I unlocked & flash MIUI.eu. I add-on "naptime" to help with Doze & using Universal GMS Doze magisk module. Managed to get almost 8hrs SOT with ads removed, bloatware removed & MSA removed. Maybe you should give it a try and see ?
Same
Battery is fine for me
Don't know how people here getting more than 3.8k mah estimated. Mine doesn't go above that. I'm pretty sure some units have battery problem as reported by few buyers on Flipkart. Some said battery is excellent while some said poor battery. I think poco x2 indian units are suffering more. Since after watching some tests on the redmi k30 Chinese variant by YouTubers they got significanly more SOT. I tweeted to them, no reply from their side yet ?
I got my K30 directly from China. No battery issues whatsoever.
I've been getting consistent SOT of 9.5 hrs on average with heavy use. SOT range for me has been 7 hrs (120Hz) - 11 hrs (60 Hz) on 4G LTE (you can check my post on SOT thread).
Being a heavy user, this battery life has literally blown me away and I absolutely love this phone simply for that. I can easily get thru a very heavy day with 30-40% battery left. I've been charging the phone twice every three days on average.
I'm on stock CN ROM (MIUI 11.0.13 Stable)
I easily get 8 hours + SOT with gaming. I play cod and pubg extensively.
Battery life update after using a month .
Mild gaming and social media usage.
Average sot is around 10hrs , battery lasts 30-50hrs depending on camera usage.
Unable to upload screen shot showing bad request.
Is AccuBattery reliably on first cycles? If many users have 3800 mah insted of 4500mah then something stinks here
My poco X2 shows 4398mah
I am on stock Indian rom miui 11.0.10
I did some quick research across the web and it looks like there are three types of d
1. Battery Drain issue devices, they have bad battery issues, battery capacity way below 4500 and widely varying with users. Screen off discharge is way off charts, like >5%/hr. SoTs varying around 5hrs or <5hrs
2. Inefficient battery devices. (Majority) They have battery capacity much below the specification, however less varying, always around 3800mAh. Battery doesn't drain that badly
I have this device, heavy usage like pubg clocks around 15-20%/hr, normal usage around 10%hr and screen off discharge rate at 0.5-0.9%/hr. Hardly discharges 2-3 percent through the night
3. Ok devices. These are the best sets. Battery capacity constantly goes above 4000mAh (still doesn't hit the required 4500 mark tho). No serious battery drain issues. (I don't know much about these devices because they don't look into the web coz they have no issues.

Usually i get around 9hrs 30 min sot on 60hz and around 8hrs on 120hz...( Without gaming ) after the update of miui 11.0.11 my phones battery backup gradually increased 1 hr on 120hz...+ I did some tweaks blocking system apps from running in the background
After using the phone for 8 months, I noticed that charging speeds have significantly reduced. At the beginning, the battery went from 0-100% in ~70-75 mins if I remember correctly (cross checked this with another review website).
But when I properly checked today (after a long time), it took 118 mins (2 hrs!) for the battery to go from 2-100%. I also plan to check this with the screen/phone off again.
The battery life is still great though, maybe slightly reduced compared to the beginning.

It's amazing how much we actually use our phones in a given day, especially when we watch "videos"! Rate this thread to express how many hours of screen-on time you can get on the OnePlus 8 Pro before depleting the battery.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Light to medium usage. Mostly browsing on wifi. 120hz fhd, 1st full charge.
Can't upload the screenshot, but I got 3.5h SOT with 12h off charger and 53% left.
Very satisfied, coming from s10+ exynos, which would already be below 40% with this kind of usage.
4h15 with 120hz qhd quite heavy usage alot of gaming installing apps. And Twitter
Do you guys are running last update? Someone said with new update battery lasts longer
Yep, updated in the meantime to 10.5.4 and it seems that battery lasts even longer. I thought it maybe the second full charge, but it might be effect of the update as well.
Right now at 72%, FHD 120Hz, with 2:35 screentime, 10h off charger. I would say 9h SOT should be attainable.
Hi, here are my stats. Keep in mind I'm always on QHD+ 120Hz with 50-80% brightness and Wi-Fi enabled.
1st charge (16/04): 5h40 (Heavy usage, even got overheating alert during transfer with OnePlus Switch)
2nd charge (17/04): 7h20 (on fw 10.5.4, which seems to improve the battery), with 5 hours of "Darkness Rises" and 2+ hours of YouTube
3rd charge (18/04): 7h10, 4+ hours of YouTube, ~2 hours of social apps.
Never got that much with my 7 Pro or my 6T.
Overall not too impressed. Seems a lot lower than many of you guys are getting. This is the second day of use. Day one was a similar story. Ended the day at 30% with less than 4 hours SOT. QHD+, 120hz, medium-high brightness, almost all on 5G, latest 10.5.4 update. My 6T with a custom kernel would get twice as much SOT and end the day at about 25-30%. I get I'm asking a lot more of the battery here, but it should be better no?
Not bad so far ,from 100 to 48% was all.on 4G,then from 48 to 23 mainly WiFi,screen set 120 Hz QHD

I'm also having 6T..
Don't expect this battery life .. you'll never get the battery from 6T..
Don't forget that 6T is 60hz, FHD, 4G,
OP8pro 120hz, QHD, 5G( 5g is Battery eater) ...
Have to admit that battery life is disappointing me..
I've got 8h with 120hz + qhd in auto, wifi . Games + normal usage.
Had one full charge... currently sitting at 25% battery remaining, 24 hours since last full charge (forgot to switch the socket on last night!), 3hrs 43mins screen time. Regular usage, mainly business, social media and a bit of gaming.

Yeah I think the main culprit is the 5G. Until now I've had the phone at work during the week and stayed on 5G. Today I'm on WiFi and it seems a lot better already. Pretty early still so we will see.
As I do not have 5g in my area or a 5 g SIM ,I have changed my network settings to 4g/3g only
About 6.5 hours SOT. Just normal use (I dont game)
Getting better ,this is just in wifi today and battry use over night is a trickle
9 + hours. 2 days
WiFi
4G
Location
BT 1 device
120Hz @fhd (literally no point using QHD)
Calls
Text
App usage in screen shots.
Pure stock 5.5 BA
Pretty sure I can break 10 hours.
Battery saver came on at 10%
Yet another long SOT, I've been stuck in the house but have played a few games, been on WhatsApp, XDA telegram and slack throughout the day.
WiFi and 4G always on.
Not going any lower than 10%
I think with device learning and optimised updates for the OS and chipset that these SOT scores will only improve.
Some more stats, all of this on 4G no WiFi use .I thinks it's easily a 7 hr SOT device ,more if using WiFi

You using QHD or FHD? Honestly I don't see a benefit to QHD, turn it off.
Oh and do not charge overnight mate. Trust me.
