Hello fellow xda members helpers and developers
I need to downgrade my Phone from Android 7 Build: C432B370 to Android 6
What do I need to make sure of in my Huawei P9 Lite Android 7 Emui 5 before following the Rollback/software upgrade procedure described in the respective Zip files.
Do I need to unroot and relock ? .. If yes which version of recovery or TWRP do I need.. if I am going to rollback.
I am a little hesitant at the moment becouse I managed to get into a bootloop yesterday by just flashing recovery_stock .
I am guessing it is becouse I unawarely flashed the wrong recovery_stock(?)
Recovery/Fastboot mode were not availiable - and then tried to flash the rollback via 3 button method.. which of course did not work.
( In case you are wondering how I managed to fix this: I let the battery drain to 0% - this broke the loop - afte the fifth try I managed to reset it with volume up + power all the way through booting)
So now I am back to square one..
Thank you
ok so I managed to fix this by myself: The problem I had was, I had a corrupted/wrong recovery on my Android 7.
So what I did was, I checked which build I excactly had .. in my case C432B370 ... downloaded the full rom. Extracted the stock recovery.img with "HuaweiUpdateExtractor" and flashed it.
Then I did the normal rollback procedure with both update.app files.
Had to unlock and root it once more... ( this time with the correct twrp) and voila it works.
So what do we learn?: dont trust simple internet guides if they not offer informations on file versions they offer ... they may not use the correct versions for your phone.
thrad can be closed or deleted
thanks for looking
hi, im having hard time to install custom rom like Lineage and AIM Rom,
i know how to flash TWRP and Stock Recovery,
and once i tried to install Aim rom using TWRP, Im getting an error such as
this rom is for asus_z010D, Z010D, Z010DD, your device is Z010,
can you please help me with this problem, i really wanted to try Oreo version of Android,
I have asus zenfone max (ZC550KL)
firmware: WW_13.8.26.92
Android: 6.0.1
thanks a lot.
just simply use notepad++ to delete assert lines in updater-script file placed at META-INF\com\google\android (open the zip file and you'll see) and you are able to flash it via TWRP.
Z010
It's work. Thank you broo
Hello,
i got today a Chinese XT1605-05. I flashed the firmware and gapps with twrp from this thread.
The firmware and gapps were installed successfully. But after reboot only the boot animation stucked for around 5 minutes than the smartphone restarts into twrp. Gladly i can copy firmware files to system folder and flash again. So the smartphone isn’t bricked.
Than i tried an older lineage 16.0 firmware => same problem.
And a firmware [URL="https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-z/development/rom-omnirom-t3881462“] from here[/URL] => same problem.
Now i have nothing running. I have no idea where i could get the right firmware file for this Chinese Version.
And the original (stock image from lenovo) firmware is only available from sources which could be infected. Not a good idea to flash this garbage.
Best regards
TUKF98
Edit:
Ok, here ist the default firmware:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-z/development/moto-z-official-firmware-downloads-t3449837
But it would be better to get android 9.0 working.
Sorry, for double post. It was created by a mistake.
Edit 2:
This stock firmware does not work. Wrong zip file.
Edit 3:
It works now, the lineage version .
I watched this video. And did all steps.
Edit 4:
Now its not working anymore. Its a joke. I installed a new version of lineageOS with the same procedure it worked first.
And now it wont work. The old firmware doesnt work also. WTF. I dont know what is wrong with this thing. Its now again stucking in boot sequence with the "ball moving on the line".
Edit:
Have flashed stock firmware back via fastboot commands. What a crap phone . 100 Euros are cheap, but not as cheap that i would take this ..... .
Now i have installed the original China firmware with trojans.
You cant block this **** from recording every input. But the european firmware does not run on my phone. After flash its hanging in bootloop.
hello, my miA3 was in V10.3.17.0.PFQEUXM, and i had some troubles with it after trying to root with magisk because of a wrong boot.img, and i lost wifi.
since I couldn't find a V10.3.17.0.boot.img to flash and get back wifi, i try to find some escape plan and finally i succeed to install twrp and then official V11.0.8.0 , but i would like to go back to V10.3.15.0 and root it ( or 10.3.17.0 if someone have the good boot.img ), is it possible?
Just download fastboot rom and you are good to go

Run the script from terminal window, it will show you an error message why it fails.

Guys, I did the update for android 10 in the second wave.
after trying to return to android 9 my device got stuck resetting the "android one" home screen, as there was no solution i put the "pixel" rom for mi a3.
Today as a test again I tried to flash the rom stock 9 and everything went back to normal as it was before, with everything working.
I believe that after installing "PIXEL" something made it back to normal.

yes , that's what sapper morton explained in a other post:
" I received Android 10 as an OTA 29th February, and a couple of days later I updated to v11.0.8.0 (locked bootloader); but I didn't enjoy it overall, so I did install Magisk, after a couple of days, I downgraded to Pie (March firmware); I lost my sensors, did try a couple of things, none of them solved the issue.
I knew from the beginning I could have flashed persist.img, but then again, I would've lost my DRM Keys (Widevine), thus I updated to Android 10 Stock (recovery firmware) to regain my sensors.
After a little search I read that downgrading from a custom Android 10 ROM (PX in my case) solves the issue on Pie, I tried and the sensors started working again on Android 9 Stock, without losing Widevine L1, since persist partition was intact. "
So my steps to solve the issue was as it follows:
1• Flashed Android 10 Stock (sensors working) [Recovery]
2• Flashed Android 9 Stock (sensors not working) [Fastboot]
3• Flashed Android 10 custom (sensors working) [Recovery]
4• Flashed Android 9 (sensors working) [Fastboot]
hello all
is there any download link to "3• Flashed Android 10 custom (sensors working) [Recovery]" or do you recommend a specific custom rom ?
I want to do the downgrade right
Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place but I could not find anywhere to post it by following Help threads I just went round and round in circles. Hi I am fairly new to phone modding. I updated my moto e XT1524 to LineageOS 16.1 some months ago. Yesterday I decided to update to 17.1. I followed the instruction to install. I have wiped phone and ran fastboot adb as instructed. I keep gettting -This packeage is for XT1514,XT1524,XT1526......... ect and error7. I have ammended the updater-script as detailed in the "How to fix error 7 " document but the rom will still not load. same error message. I have now noticed that * Required * firmware version must be based on Marshmallow on the Installation section on the main forum page. Can someone help me get the phone back to stock rom or any other rom for that matter. I can get the phone into recovery mode and I have TWRP installed i aslo have SDK tools installed on PC.
@rddxda
TWRP can't be used to flash Stock ROMs. In your case you need QFIL ( read: Qualcomm Flash Image Loader ) to flash a Stock ROM, and also the Motorola USB driver installed on PC.

Thanks for your help, could you please help a little further as I cannot find a stock rom. I have been on the motorola site and followed a few links on the internet but only to find the file is no longer available. Any idea where I can get a stock rom from or can I use QFIL to load a non stock rom?
I have found a stock rom XT1524_SURNIA_RETEUALL_5.0.2_LXI22.50-13_cid7_subsidy-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip this is not an mbn file, however if I open the zip folder there is a fsg.mbn file in there along with boot, bootloader gpt.bin etc. Is this the file to use with QFIL. Sorry to be a pain but I don't want to make the situation worse.
Also can you tell me if restoring to stock rom will this re-lock the bootloader?
UPDATE: First of all thank-you for all your help - I have learned a lot over the past 6 days (that's how long I have been trying to fix it). I flashed lineage-17.1-20200814-recovery-surnia and then sideloaded adb sideload lineage-17.1surnia.zip. Phone now rebooted in normal mode and showing on PC now OK. So old Moto E XT1524 on Lineage OS 17.1.
