Bought type-c to 3.5 mm converter multiple times. But none of them worked. Seems issues with software.
Found the solution for this.
M40 has different codec. Now successfully able to use converter.

No, there is no official converter from Samsung.
I bought almost 4 different converters from 4 different sellers on Amazon but none of them worked.
Each company has their own codec. For M40 Samsung using some 3rd party codec.
I guess Oneplus 7/7Pro own the same codec so you can buy one of those converters and try it by yourself, if it works then post the same link here.
Finally after research found the what we need to check before purchasing any type-c converter for M40.
If anyone want to know which to buy then ping me.

I borrowed this from a friend of mine and I see Google's type c to 3.5 mm converter is working perfectly fine. I tried just now and they are awesome. Call clarity and playing audio&video are just superb. I am going to place an order once they are available in flipkart in India (they seem to have Google's genuine adapter https://www.flipkart.com/google-pixel-usb-type-c-3-5-mm-adaptor-headphone-adapter/p/itmfaesfkwyumged ) currently they are unavailable online. Even I don't like amazon. Its worst but the thing is M40 compatible and at affordable price available only at Amazon.
All the sellers of Amazon incensed the price from Rs.499 to Rs.999.
Here i found more cheaper one but can't say about quality but surely it will work for M40 no doubt.

This cable works only on Nokia 5800.
There are no Android phones that support TV-out via 3.5mm jack. Some phones have HDMI port for this, but most don't.
Now, microUSB-HDMI adapter is known to work on some Androids, but LWW has not been tested. So we also do not know, if there is any app for it or not.
2nd way would be DLNA, but that only supports media files.
Thanks man

I already tried the Samsung "Micro USB <-> HDMI" cable and it dindt work. But that cable it's a bit weird, you have to connect the charger to the cable. Maybe a generic "Micro USB <-> HDMI" cable works

You don't connect the charger to the adapter.
I am not sure, if Xperia's support TV-out from microUSB. If not, then likely will not work.
For DLNA, you need the original file from stock ROM.

In Xperia Mini st15a, DLNA can be used through an app what initiate an server what give access for media content like videos and photos, and if you have an eletronic like a notebook or tv with dlna certified, then they have the client to connect to the server and execute these contents. Although, windows 7 comes with dlna client, windows media center, through wifi (dlna is a protocol what runs over wifi).
I asked in my country to Sony support about MHL, they say what the only device is the Xperia Arc S what have MHL ... but i can't confirm that, and the new Xperia U, P etc etc maybe have. However, for us owners of xperia 2011 devices, theres no mhl function, and i searched a lot... so i found xBounds, google it.
About cables through jack, the same, don't work... Sony have an oficial cable to x1 i guess, but not for live's or mini's.
Search also about mirrorOp app on Google Play Store.
PS3 have dlna also and Sony have an app on Play called VScreens.

Yes, in service menu there is a button for hdmi test. All Android with service menu have a button for hdmi test. All Android with this button kinda have hdmi software support. But, in order to use HDMI properly, the device need a hardware what support HDMI, for example, MHL need an USB socket and a circuit, HDMI need a HDMI socket and a circuit.
In this case, is all about hardware not only software. Although, there are some ways to do screen mirroring, some hardwares and softwares. I bet in xBounds.
No one tried to plug an MHL adapter in mini's or live's, because no one reported if work or not, all we have is a uncertainty. No one tried to plug another kind of cable and reported if work or not. *No one since the latest search I made.
I haven't tried to use an MHL adapter yet because I don't found it in my country so easily and don't found a MHL adapter "more appropriate".
I just need search for a friend or visit some seller what I can meet to test it. I don't found yet.

Doubt not. You're obviously too busy to look it up . Suffice to say that entering "android tv out 3.5mm" or "galaxy s tv" on a well known phone spec checker (sometimes known as 'giyf') gives prominent links to the correct accessory and video demos.

The Sidekick 4g does as well. 4pin 3.5mm TRRS (Left,Right,Ground,Video) cables work on it. So does the Galaxy S II (i9100), and according to Samsung's website, with "Samsung Exhibit™ 4G Android Smartphone Samsung Captivate™ Android Smartphone Samsung Vibrant™ Android Smartphone Galaxy S™ 4G Android Smartphone Samsung Omnia® II Touchscreen Smartphone"
Composite video on 3.5mm jack, and most of those phones have MHL over usb or hdmi as well. Suck on that non-believer.
Samsumg have nice phones.
Sadly theres no MHL, or jack, or HDMI, or magic for xperia mini/pro, et cetera.
Is really unpleasant what the demostration video for LiveDock cause the impression of is possible do tv out for any phone Xperia, but this was discussed before, the true is what the phone in demostration has your own HDMI out. Even the docks with HDMI out, is for phones that already have the HDMI out builded in.
We have just a long wait for xBounds becomes a true for us, because is the only resource what seems work as we need and want.
Of course there's another solutions, but the issue is the delay, but this is not problem, for example, if you want just show content in non-real time.
i have used the galaxy notes MHL in my xperia mini and it dosent work....!!!!1

Hi all,
Does the HTC One X+ allow HDMI video out?
I can only find info on the other X models, but none specify the X+?
If anyone has done this, can you share the product that allows it? I would like it for not only photos/videos but ideally also for apps.
Thanks in advance for sharing.
I bought a $5 MHL cord off ebay and it works fine with my phone. Just look on ebay for MHL cord and you will find it easily.
Does this also work for applications like Plex and Netflix?

I've never tested audio yet (i connect it to a pc monitor without sound), but when I connect I've no audio on my speaker so i assume that the audio is passed to the hdmi instead of the speaker.
I will test it as soon as I've access to a screen with audio. Will also test dolby pass trough, but that would probably require some advanced players that support it.
Would be great!

Ok I've tested it now.
Audio works, but only stereo. The only app that i found that did support some audio output options was xbmc and that app said that it could not find any pass-trough device so could not enable that.
The only question that remains if it support multi-channel audio over hdmi (lpcm), unfortunately I cannot check this one as I do not have a receiver with hdmi input (only toslink)
I hope this answer was helpful for you.

You need what's called MHL Adapter, it converts the USB to HDMI, I found these on eBay, and many do ship to Brazil-
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=MHL+adapter&_nkwusc=MHL+Adaptr&_rdc=1
This looks like a good deal, and free worldwide shipping to Brazil from Hong Kong!

Most devices that support HDMI out nowadays do it through an MHL-Adapter that you plug into the USB port. The reason is that they safe on space for an additional port.
WP8 does NOT support MHL/HDMI-out so far so no: don't buy an adapter, it won't work.

Sooo, i bought the small but powerful K1 yesterday but I couldn't figure out how the K1 will work with my Nexus 6. I've connected it via OTG and it got recognised but yeah no sound came out of it :crying:. So I connected a passive USB Hub to the OTG cable. I can't say why but connected to the hub the K1 worked fine.
This isn't a great solution for me, has someone got the K1 working without a USB hub? Which USB DAC's are working for you?

on that price point? yeah, absolutely!
but here's the thing. Audio is not just about the DAC-AMP and then you got that sound you always wanted. Q1 is bit warm and smooth (K1 as well) and it's a perfect match for vocals and instruments (and maybe some other genre).
and there's the IEM/Headphone/Earphone factor again..

AQ Dragonfly is nice! but it's bit expensive
Schiit Modi 2 / Magni 2 Uber work as well.

Strangest thing is that E10K works well with N6, while the even smaller K1 does not. My E17 (not 17K) used to be working very well too!

Is the K1 working on any phones? I think it is a driver/kerner problem, not a power supply one...

I have a Best Buy near me but it seems like they only sell name brands rather than HiFi brands.

Before you go buy a dac or amp you might want to do some research from head fi.
The dac on the nexus is aight but it pushes little power for a portable device.

Thinking about getting the Q1. Would you recommend it to me? I have never even used a DAC before but I'm starting to become a bit of an audiophile after discovering ViPER...

USB HUB

Sooo, i bought the small but powerful K1 yesterday but I couldn't figure out how the K1 will work with my Nexus 6. I've connected it via OTG and it got recognised but yeah no sound came out of it :crying:. So I connected a passive USB Hub to the OTG cable. I can't say why but connected to the hub the K1 worked fine.
This isn't a great solution for me, has someone got the K1 working without a USB hub? Which USB DAC's are working for you?

Did you use a direct micro USB hub or a normal USB hub connected via a micro USB to USB cable? Also is the USB hub USB 2.0 or 3.0?
Hi, i have a Type-C to Hdmi adapter which is have DisplayPort Alt Mode support. When i plug in to my device, nothing happens. I searched for Hdmi, Dp, usb in root folders but couldnt find anything to activate it.
XZ1 doesn't support HDMI or DP output by a dongle. This was officially confirmed in the Sony-host forums.

Xz1 supports Dp by the hardware but blocked by software. Please read carefully. I want to activate. Not get it by an update or official stuff.

In my opinion, they were using chromecast to mirror the display on that monitor. See the following screenshot:

PS sorry, I cannot post direct links yet, I am new.

Hmh it's questionable issue...
I'm not sure but does that signature appears only when you use chromecast? Or it pop up when you start mirroring screen in every way including adapter?
BTW Someone on reddit found same video:
https://www.reddit.com/r/SonyXperia/comments/8jxmmq/hdmi_support_on_xperia_xz1/
I'm interested to connect multi function USB-C adapter (rj45, card reader, USB 3, VGA dsub, hdmi, minijack 3,5 mm) to my
XZ1C. I don't want to bring my heavy laptop when I have PowerPoint presentation
I have possiblity to test on either xz1 (someone form my family will borrow me that phone for test)
Both devices has unlocked bootloader and LOS16 installed with magisk flashed. That's why I'm interested to enable this function, with root I have possiblity to edit some system files.
(or it'll be just working, why lineageos developers may block this function?)
Here is my thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xp...cessories/xz1-compact-micro-computer-t4005629
It'd be great if you join with your knowledge
Now I wait for extra money to buy advanced adapter, or someone to do instead of me.

This icon should appear only when using chromecast, if I remember well. I still have my Nexus 7 and a slimport adapter laying around, I will check if it is true.
To my knowledge, basically the XZ1 should have the functionality disabled in the kernel like Google did on its Pixel 4.
I am very interested in it too, but I had too little time to spend on this research. Hopefully, I should have some days off to investigate on this matter (thanks a lot, COVID-19)
HDMI out via DisplayLink Presenter app and a DisplayLink dongle

Hello, I saw your post here about getting HDMI working on the XZ1 Compact and was just wondering if you could help?
You mentioned you got it working using "DisplayLink Presenter" and a DisplayLink dongle. I'm not sure what a DisplayLink dongle is.

You need an dongle or a docking station which includes a DisplayLink chip. I use this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Wavlink-Adapter-External-Supports-Resolution/dp/B076SX73LY/

„DISPLAYLINK CERTIFIED (dl-3500 chipset), you could Download the driver from this link: www.displaylink.com. If you have connected to USB3.0 devices, the resolution is adjustable and the maximum resolution can be up to 2048x1152 , if you have connected to USB2.0 devices Resolution 800x600 @ 60Hz.“
It‘s working on 1080p @ 30Hz for me!
