Hey guys.
My jack 3,5mm is damaged.
I bought an adapter from usb c to jack but it doesnt work. Is there any way to fix that?
Changing to audio in usb connection in dev options doesnt work either.
It might be worth rooting it and using some rooting solution because then you have more control over your hardware

htc dont use miniUSB because miniUSB dont carry audio at all
they use extUSB which is just miniUSB which carry audio
the pinout can be found in this forum using search
and expansys.com have conveters of most kinds for all htc devices
Hi All.
I bought a micro usb to 3.5mm audio jack off off ebay hoping it would work on the galaxy s2 (i thought the s2 would be backwards compatable)
Searchword Audio adapter samsung galaxy (i cant post outside links)
Does anyone know of any software to get it working?
Many thanks
Paul.
You can't just stick in any usb to 3.5mm jack and hope it'll work, it's device specific and needs the right circuit inside for the conversion.
i was kind of hoping with the whole "USB" = UNIVERSAL serial bus that it would work. If it is trully that, then technically it should work, its just a matter of some guru figuring out the drivers for it
Anyone??? Its difficult to believe that the 9100 can output video and audio, in high deffinition, but not able to output only audio!!
Have you enabled output audio through usb connection?
is that under the dock option?
Is there a way to get audio output from this phone via the mini-USB port? I'm thinking of buying a portable DAC/AMP with USB input to bypass the DAC on the phone. Is this possible?
Don't believe this is possible. The host OS drivers must be supported.

Yes, but it's analog audio so you can't bypass the DAC. However it may be line-level audio that is different (better? worse? Not sure) than the headphone jack.
Somewhere in either General or Accessories there's a HOWTO on making your own "dock" audio cable. This will give you analog output from the MiniUSB port by making the phone think it's in a car dock, which makes it change USB D+ and D- into analog L/R audio.
The link Entropy is referring to is this:

EDIT and also from a quote in that thread:

I'm 95% certain digital audio out is not possible, except maybe for MHL/HDMI audio output via the MHL adapter.
There just aren't any provisions for it.

thanks for the info. I'm reading through that and I don't think that'll work for me. Basically I just want something I can slap into my pocket while at the gym to get better sound out of this phone. I guess a simple line-out is going to have to do and just snag an AMP only.
Would the USB OTG be a viable option for this? Just a thought...
Thanks again for the help!
let me ask you this...is there a clean way to get a "line-out" from the Galaxy S2 perhaps from the USB port (as an analog signal). I have been eye-balling the Ray Samuels Hornet as my portable amp for the Galaxy S2 and I'd like to get the best sound possible out of this phone.

Hello guys, I've just recently bought the Onkyo CS 555dab and tried connecting my galaxy s3 via text usb port to play music. But it doesn't even connect so I'm thinking the usb on the Onkyo isn't meant for Android and only ipod and flash drives. But I was looking at this device which I think would work but want to be sure before I buy it. My Onkyo has got optical and coaxial inputs at 24bit so I was thinking of usb to optical. I can't post links just yet but it's called USB Sound Box from maplins website.
I'd just use the usb from the galaxy to the usb sound box then optical lead from that to the hifi. Would this produce audio??
Also I used the 3.5mm jack to RCA and the sound is terribly low n no bass at all. I read bout EU regulations and them lowering the out it via headphone jacks.
Hope someone knows. Thank you.

Use a decent ROM with some jacked up audio improvements. I used 3.5mm to my stereo and the sound is superb.
There are a multitude of converters out there for just this.

Hello I would like to see if anyone here could kindly help me. Basically I have a mi mix 4 on miui 13 eu rom I have a usb c cable that connects to 2 pin iems the cable has a dac built into the usb c housing the cable works fine on my old phone but with the mi mix 4 occasionally there is a subtle static sound. My old phone doesnt support passive usb audio so a digital signal gets sent to the dac where it turns into analogue since it works on that phone the cable itself isnt the problem however I know xiaomi phones support passive analogue out the usb to 3.5 mm adapter it comes with doesnt have a dac in it and works fine with earbuds with a 3.5mm jack so I was wondering what I can do to fix this issue could a software update to miui 14 eu rom help or should I try pixel experience? Is there someway to make the phone not detect the external dac and bypass it because id be fine with using the internal dac basically by forcing audio adapter accessory mode. I wish I could find a cable that as usb c to two pin that didnt have a built in dac but it seems like it is such a niche thing. All this to avoid having to use a adapter lol
