Hi all,
I have a major problem with my honor v10, a few months ago my fingerprint sensor button stopped working for no reason, but now I just use the navigation bar.
3 days ago all of a sudden I could not accept incoming phone calls at all, when I get an incoming call the dialer screen does not show up at all, I get a green banner along the top of the screen saying "touch to return to incoming call" I touch that and nothing happens....
I have tried everything possible to fix this to no avail, I even did a factory reset and that did not work....
Please find attached a photo of the problem and I also managed to save a logcat using notepad +

Have you checked that there is a default phone app set, and it's not blank? The setting is usually in Apps - > Default Apps.
Also check that all permissions for the phone and dialer apps are on.

Yes I have checked all of that and I have even downloaded a different dialer app and home launcher.
I've also done a hard reset and a factory reset through recovery and the same problem is still there.
That's why I uploaded the logcat if someone could please have a look at it and they might be able to read the log and tell me what's going on...if it is a software or hardware issue....I know a bit about phones but this problem is baffling,

Looking for help with a strange and sporadic problem.
95% of the time when I start a new text message (includes replying to other messages in a thread), the first letter of the first word I type disappears almost immediately after I type. If I retype the letter, it remains and I can continue typing normally.
I've gotten to the point where I double tap the first letter on every new message but it's an annoyance.
Also, I have another sporadic problem with my text messaging screen closing in the middle of typing out a new message.
I hope someone can help.
I did a hard reset and after no problems I started by installing cabs one by one. The problem started after the first install. > SPB Shell 3.0
I have further found the issue only occurs when the phone goes to sleep. The first time you try to type a message after waking the phone up, the first letter of the message disappears and you have to double tap it to continue. All messages after that type in fine unless you let the phone go back to sleep, then the very first message after that has the same problem again.
Any help would be appreciated.
Ah well. I was able to find a solution. I figured I would update the thread in case anyone else had the same problem in the near future.
Solution: Upgrade to the Spb Mobile Shell 3.0.1 beta-version Whatever the bug was is now fixed in the newer version.

Disregard. Problem came back about as quickly as it went away.
I have further realized the problem only occurs when the following 3 conditions exist:
1/ SPB Mobile Shell is installed.
2/ SMS messaging in threaded conversation mode.
3/ Only when the messaging has been completely shut down. If the conversation window has been closed and reopened, everything is still fine. It is only when the messaging has been completely shut down.
With all the knowledgeable brains here, I thought someone might have a suggestion or solution. :-(
It has nothing to do with shell...I dont have that onb my phone and mine does that every once in a while

I have this problem too.. Just letting the community know if it's any extra inspiration to keep attacking this bug.
Has anyone encountered problems with the dialer?
I can punch in a phone # and press the green button to dial, but it doesn't dial immediately. There seems to be a lag sometimes of up to 30-60 seconds.
Also, sometimes I cannot hang up a call. I press the disconnect button and it just doesn't do anything.

i think that the same happened to me. the problem that I am having concerns the phone app on my razr. very, very often when I try dialing somebody, after hitting the the dial button, the screen where is shown a larger photo of the person that I am calling appears then it flashes and disappears (saying <call time 00:00>, something like when the call is terminated) then it reappears by itself after 2 or 3 seconds and the call continues smoothly. this is a very annoying problem, not being able to have control of my calls.
i don`n know what could have started this problem because everything was working fine, and still is apart from this issue. i`m not a skillful android user but i managed to root my phone (making all the necessary backups), then using some specific apps for rooted phones (like titanium, motomizer etc.) and every thing was OK. Lately i`ve installed a navigation program for android to my phone (iGO) but i`m not sure if by doing this, the problem appeared.
to solve this, i`ve tried everything: uninstalling all the suspected apps, factory reset, rolling back my system to a previous backup, updating my system version from 651.73.30.XXXXX.en.EU to 651.167.19.XXXXX.en.EU, cleaning the cache/dalvik cache. the problem still persists...
if you guys have any idea what could have caused this please guide me through a solution.

I have two problems that i cannot solve by any means.
First one:
Upon writing an sms on already existing conversation and not sending it but pressing back, and later trying to enter that conversation, process hangs "com.sonyericsson.conversations". Whats interesting it happens only on open physical keyboard. Disabling "default text input" helps, but that fu.... later automaticly enables itself, so problem remains. On closed keyboard problem doesent occur.
Second one:
On default camera app light doesent work (it is operational on other apps).
On both problems factory resets, restarts, reflash, doesent help. Maybe kernel change will work ? I dont know, my knowledge on android is very limmited. Some might say its small problems, but it enables my rage mode.

HI Everybody.
I have done an update on my Mozart and I am left with an update error 801800048 which I believe my phone is now walshied.
It boots but several of the apps will not activate, for example on pressing the phone tile the app tries to open but just returns to the start screen. Meaning I can not access the dialing pad. I can how ever make call using my contacts? Also the wifi is turned off and again the app returns to the settings screen.
I have read there is a software update that will solve this the Chris Walsh item ChevronWP7.exe or WPST.exe. Every link I have tried takes me to the expired page. Please could someone direct me to an active link or supply the program?

It's a few days that I'm not able to use s voice, from my gear s, to start new call, send new messages etc....
once s voice is started and I say something like "send message to ...." the app closes and the watch returns on the clock screen.
I restored to factory default, flashed the newest firmware, restored the phone....but nothing
Someone is facing the same problem?
Actually i'm facing the same problem... found any solution?
UPDATE:
I found that it's something about the Contacts. If you try to make a call, send a message or ask information about any person in your Gear S contact list, S Voice will just close and return to the clock screen. If you try to make a call by saying the actual phone-number it will work. Same for messages.
I'm still trying to figure out whats the problem. Already did a Factory reset to the Gear S two times without restoring any info and still not working. I'm gonna try to pair the Gear S with another device to check if the problem is not the pone (i don't think so...)
The same for me didn't figured out what is the cause of the problem...factory reset for both phone and smartwatch several times but didn't solved the problem... Sometimes works fine and sometimes not... Now it started to switch from a screen to another : black screen, watch, menu and so on until the battery is completely drained.... I though it was for the note 3 bluetooth's bug, but the various problems persist even with it turned off..
