nah, there just isnt, shouldnt be much of a problem (for me atleast)
I suspect most people did not switch the settings from FHD on the S7 and on to QHD in display settings. Most people won't notice the difference. The screen is great on the note 10

Still, original definition of Note series was over the top best hardware around with everything except kitchen sink, not budget phone with premium price. Note series was one the first phablets on the market, one of the first with 4k video recording etc. So instead of saying like we used to " I didn't know Note had humidity sensor , heart/o2 monitors, IR blaster or 4k video recording" now you say " I didn't know there is no notification LED, no phone jack, no heart monitor" , kind of very dissapointing if you ask me, at least they kept s-pen

Hi,
I have a dead pixel Dell streak 5. I though about decreasing the screen size from 5inch to something like 4inch or 3.5 inch. Is it possible?
So I will use the phone only with live pixels. See the attach. please help if there is any app for that which supports ICS (2.3 or 2.2)

You have a bit more than a dead pixel there.
While it's an intriguing concept, what you want to do cannot be done. You would need to rewrite every single driver related to the screen, and quite honestly that's an awful lot of work for little gain. That's assuming of course that such a thing is even possible.
Sell the device for parts, if you can't find a replacement screen at a decent price.
I thought about using an app like a multi screen apk. floating browser etc etc. but since it is 2.3, It doesnt support such apps. Do you have any suggestiong about it? any Mods?
I already gave my suggestion in my prior post. No mod in the universe will help with a hardware problem.
Just brought it, i really like it in all aspects except the annoying rainbow effect, i can even see it without tilt the tablet, especially in landscape, just wondering EVERYONE have this problem? after some time of use you get used to? any way of fix it?
I was thinking of change it but it doesn't make sense if all units are faulty
Rainbow effect:

I am unable to access your screen picture but my tablet is perfectly normal and has none of the aberrations you describe. I was in a shop yesterday and handled the two display models and they were fine too. So I would suspect a fault with yours.
Here are the pics http://imgur.com/a/mpuTI#0
So your tablet doesn't have any of this when you tilt it?
I noticed a rainbow effect when I first got mine, but now I don't see it at all unless I really look for it.

No, none of that. Using the same Google page,I have tilted it in every direction and it is a clean high quality IPS screen with no artifacts.

The apperture look like the blades arnt fully retracted for f1.5, it has a star like shape instead of normal big wide opening like in the telephoto camera.
This happened while doing some long exposures.
It fully opens in live focus mode only, in auto it stays like this until you expose to high light then it closes but mostly will stay like this.
This exynos version is really bad, I managed to barely squeeze 7 hrs of SOT (instead of 4:30 5) but....the constant 40 'C burning in my pocket is unacceptable.
I'll be sending this back since I can return it in 30 days.
I hope the note 9 wont have the same issues.
Also that iris scanner is much slower than the note 8s one:crying:
The picture doesn't work, but from your description it does indeed sound like an issue.
Things should look like the picture from this article (right under the photo of the blue & purple phone).

Ill put here another image, now it only does this in the stock app.
https://imgur.com/a/SvZ8hKV sorry for the shakyness.
Wont bother with a factory reset, will keep it as is and return it on the 24 rt and get an N9.
Well, as you all know, Galaxy Note 3 is quite old, and barely gets supported by most accessory manufacturers nowadays, so I decided to take some pictures, and scan the internals of my Galaxy Note 3, and stitch it all up, so I can use it like a transparent skin mod on my clear case, and I wanted to share it to you guys, so enjoy printing lol.
(You might be wondering, "take some pictures"? Yeah I did, I used multiple images and stitch them all up. Normal methods doesn't produce the desired clarity: Scanning the whole phone opened, produced blurred components, and are out of focus, and only those that are touching the glass surface of the scanner are that on focus, such as the battery, pen and the camera; Taking a normal whole picture of the phone, on the other hand, didn't have the blurring issue found on scanning, although the resolution of the picture is affected by my other phone's Camera resolution (which is 12MP). And so, to workaround this, I instead took multiple pictures of the parts of the phone. That's why you can see some unbalanaced lighting here and there throughout the image.)

S23 Ultra when viewed under 365nm UV flashlight looks like something is behind the screen glass as pictured.

My iPhone 14 Pro Max looks the outer area of the screen.
The "blob" looks almost like something is under the screen.
Viewed normally, the screen looks perfectly fine.
If anyone has one of these lights, can you check your phone to see if it looks like this?
Other phones have this too. Did a cursory google search. First page threw up results like these:
This was seen on the Note 9 and Note20 Ultra. It likely has to do with the adhesive to the frame but it doesn't effect the screen in normal lighting. Given the prevalence, it's probably not a defect.
First time I noticed this. I will check my Pixel 6 Pro next.
Interestingly enough none of the iphones show this.
I gonna guess that it's the OCA/LOCA (Liquid - Optical Clear Adhesive)
All modern phone screen use either one of those two to glued the glass to the image display panel.
