if u r not into the looks of the phone or u r the guy who uses back covers....and can live with average display...this is still the best phone under 250$...and xiaomi still giving updates on security patch and other bug fixes and miui updates....
1. it feels solid the build quality is really good. its little bit heavier than otherr phone but once u get used to this phone the weight will not bother u much..i get 6 hours of sot on average it will last whole day...i am facing no defects till now...it is quite slower than 855 but difference is not much considering the price difference of this and the k20 pro...

this is so true, paying extra go for OnePlus 7 or even k20 pro , screen is bad ,i mean really bad, miui is dying its true. touch is bad, i m having screen bleeding issue .

I recently bought it and very satisfied. Exceeds expectations. I see people are having touch screen defects, I don't have, I live in eastern Europe and I have warranty for two years, if something goes back I give it to the warranty service while they provide replacement during the service period. I hope this won't happen but yeah, for the price the phone is gold. Powerful, stable, bright and colorful display. People always talk about phone displays like they even understand color science or work on the phone to color grade movies. I recommend the phone and if there is touch issues, test before u buy the unit.

xiaomi stores sells you the phone in a sealed box, you cant test before you buy and the official warranty can sometimes be a joke when the authorized service center are a bunch of amateurs.
and by the way,my unit worked fine for more than 6 months and am 80% sure my touch problem is software related but xiaomi just dont have the will to fix it!!

Do you think the bug got introduced in between some firmware update?
I've read some kernels trying to implement the touch fix bug for some panels, have you seen it?

i,ve been living in a nightmare for the past 3 weeks since the touch issues started out of nowhere....i read and commented in every thread that discussed touch issues,kernels.....etc on xda and i am almost sure its a software issue that may have been introduced (god knows why).
DONT invest money in xiaomi(my old xiaomi mi max 1 touch is way better than poco f1).....they make phones with much less quality everyday.....just a tech/spec race.

Seems feedback is all over the place. So I speak for myself, and for a friend who bought the pocophone as well (both bought in Belgium):
- really solid battery life
- MIUI os is stable enough (10.3.6.0), no major bugs, although not on the level of f.e. Samsung's UI.
- screen is below average, but that we knew upfront
- performance is the best selling point for this thing. It is fast, and smooth
- no touch issues
- no screen bleed issues
- ridiculously low price for the hardware used
- camera is pretty good, but search XDA for the gcam adaptation. It pulls the most from the sensor.
- screen is scratch resistant for now (own it for a few months without screen protector)
- the soft case that comes with the phone is kinda cheap, but does the trick
- it charges fast
- Xiaomi was a kind of a gamble for me as they are not well known for swift updates and long term maintenance. But I can always unlock the bootloader and install an aosp version such as pixel experience. For now, they come with regular updates but always are 2month behind (so now in August we have the June security update.
- One intermittent issue with Bluetooth (in combination with my mercedes): sometimes audio stutters for a second. Deactivating bluetooth and reactivating it on the phone solves it and we're good again for a few weeks.
All in all: a really good phone if you don't use it in very bright outside conditions (again: screen is below average). I come from a Samsung S7 edge, and I only miss it's high res amoled screen to an extent. The latter is undeniably better in color representation and brightness.
You want a better screen for the same price, try a Samsung A40. But performance and battery life will take a severe hit.
Also, people tend to compare them to equally performant smartphones, but they are typically in another price range. Don't do that, compare apples to apples and decide: you want the performance, or you want a nice screen / fancy looking smartphone?

Agreed, have had the phone since March this year and have had none of the issues that keep getting mentioned on various Pocophone threads. This phone for me is perfect on MIUI 10.3.6.0 Global Stable for my use. Some YouTube, Facebook, Netflix and usually an hour of PUBG and/or Blades daily and normal texting/WhatsApp and calls. Usually have 30% battery left by bedtime.

Coming from an HTC U12 which had useless buttons and a display that you can't see in sunshine I tried an Exynos S10e which could not hold a phone call for any length of time. Personally I couldn't find anything else on the market that wasn't huge that had a flagship SOC (albeit last years), SD card slot, headphone jack and unlockable bootloader.
Haven't had any of the issues others have, mine is a global version bought in the UK but I had to get rid of MIUI, so there is plenty of AOSP roms to try.
Fwiw I've settled on AOSiP and arter97 kernel and get 6-8 hours SOT and a phone that keeps calls when I'm driving around.
The only downside is the camera is just about fine.

Did you try gcam .apk ? You just install it and it levels up the camera experience by miles! Check it out on a thread in here!

Yep! Coming from an HTC though and missing OIS the Xiaomi is still second place. For the price though its great!
There is Oneplus rom port for Poco F1. I tried it's pretty nice, faster, smoother and touch is better/sharper, battery about the same as use Miui rom (I use vendor-firmware 9.6.27 for Oneplus rom)
I am from India and I can tell that the phone launched (6, 64) at ₹21000.
Now in the Flipkart sale you can get it at 16.5k.
I myself have ordered it today.
One of the main reasons to buy this phone is that it has excellent development support at xda community and unlocking the bootloader won't void your warranty. So If you are into custom ROMs this is best flagship level budget device.
Myself being a custom ROM enthusiast, I decided to go with it.
So Yes even today this is great value for money phone despite it lacks few things like it is really ugly looking because of that huge notch and considering all new even budget phones are coming with the drop notch or full screen display, this is a trade-off.
i'd say go for it its worth the price, i've had it for around 4-6 months with no issues, im coming from a galaxy s6 and honestly the display isn't that bad compared to it the only thing i noticed is that the galaxy s6 is like 50-80% brighter but you'll notice it only if your using your phone outside.

Having a very hard time deciding whether to buy this phone or get a simple Redmi Note 4X.
Seeing how little real world performance difference there appears to be between the two is kind of turning me off to this phone because of it's seemingly numerous issues. I don't plan on doing a whole lot of heavy tasks/gaming per say so I'd imagine the SD 625 could handle my needs very well. I plan on flashing custom roms and not keeping stock.
Things I like about the Le Max 2:
Screen
Camera - Fairly important to me and I understand the 4x's camera is awful
Performance - Would be nice to have but doesn't seem completely necessary
Things I dislike about the Le Max 2/Concerns:
Dead fingerprint readers galore? I've read about flashing FW but the threads seem to have mixed results. - Added a poll to this thread to possibly figure out what my chances of a bad/dead fp reader are.
Seen two reports of data on the 3g 1900mhz PCS band not working - very important to me
Have to carry a USB C to 3.5mm adapter around - not a big deal, just slightly annoying.
Battery Life is average/below average
Camera bump - easily scratch lens
Bezel around the screen isn't my favorite
Cost of the 4X is around ~$210 CAD, le Max 2 is ~$270 CAD. Open to all thoughts, and suggestions.
I would only go for RN4X if you truly are a "battery freak" haha. It's not a bad device, but despite the better battery, it loses in everything to LM2.
Also, since you mentioned that you'll be using Custom ROM, keep in mind that you'll have even worse camera on RN4X.
LM2 has it flaws like average battery and problematic FP sensor, but I still believe it's an amazing option. To be honest, I bought mine last week from Gearbest and I'm still waiting for it to arrive.
If you don't mind smaller screen size, Zuk Z2, Mi5/Mi5s and Honor 8 are also good options and you'll have top specs and good battery.
I just bought and sold note 4x and bought le max 2. Note 4x even though has a lower spec . cpu it feels more polished and fluid . For note 4x there are 2 camera sensors used in the production. Sony one is okayish ,but samsung one is plain bad. I have a 10 mo daughter, i sold it just because i use the camera alot.
Le max 2 battery is an issue though... Get ready to carry round a powerbank. If you have specific questions let me know.
Le Max 2 battery is not that bad it's pretty good consider it got 2k screen. Battery charge really fast maybe need to recharge one time per day. It's just a little big and bulky if you don't like big size phone and FP is problematic, you will be lucky if its not dead. Still for 64Gb/4Gb ram less than $200 it's steal.
well i can get 4 hrs sot, which is bad compared to note 4x 's min 7 hrs. If you are not in to VR there is no point of 2K screen... in that case Le pro 3 becomes more attractive ...
Yes it has SD820, and min4 gb ram but the software is so sluggish it feels way less powerful... Yes you can flash a custom 7.1.2 rom and it will fly but your camera and battery life gets worse...
The fact that there are basically no good ROMs for this phablet should scare you a lot more than whether the fingerprint scanner works or not.
Official ROMs are rife with unneeded software and their UI is reminiscent of iOS which I personally loathe, while open source ROMs struggle with many features, like speakerphone mode (which basically doesn't work), camera functions (no 4K, broken flash, broken focusing), lags and very low recording volume.
Also, like mentioned above, this phone has a very weak battery for its QHD screen.
God, fingerprint sensor. The most useless and insecure feature of any smartphone.
Here's my objective review. Earlier in the year I sold off my OnePlus 3T in anticipation of the OnePlus 5. I set out to look for placeholder phone that I could use in the meantime, a best bang for the buck phone. For $196, I couldn't find a better than the Le Max 2. After further research, I became weary about buying it, but after a proper assessment, it appeared that the fingerprint reader issue wasn't as widespread problem. The threads in question are old, don't get that many new complaints or replies anymore for that matter, usually the same group of people looking for a solution. Also, people keep confusing the actual hardware defect, with the fact that you need to use one of the newer modems (23S or the recommended 419D) for the fingerprint reader to function properly on many of custom ROMs.
I personally bought two of the US variant, the gray 4GB/64GB X829 from Banggood. As expected, the fingerprint readers on both phones worked, and continue to do so. The fingerprint reader is not fast as the one found on the OnePlus 3T, but I've yet to see another phone that has one that's even as fast. You'll be on the home screen within a second of placing your finger on the reader. As far as the accuracy goes, it's actually been really accurate, but I mostly attribute that to the fact that the case I use helps in aligning my finger dead center on the reader. Speaking of case, I bought a black one from banggood that's similar to the Spigen Rugged Armor that I love, and it complements the black bezels of the Le Max 2, so I'm over that small annoyance. Check the picture out.
I wasn't a fan of the stock ROM, but it's usable, but if you want a reliable Marshmallow alternative, I recommend Small EUI, but the Nougat ROMs have come far along, especially this last week, to where I have flashed them on both my Le Max 2's and are now my daily drivers. In that case, I would recommend Resurrection Remix.
Performance was always great, similar to my old OnePlus 3 in the early days, but the battery life on the Le Max 2 has improved greatly on Resurrection Remix I get 5 hours and 30 minutes of screen on time with moderate use. I don't play any android games, but I do watch plenty of video podcasts on YouTube, do a lot of school research on chrome for my essays, use Facebook, Instagram, Spotify, and Tidal often. Check the pictures.
Objectivity aside..
I would recommend this phone to you, especially if you like to flash things and tinker. In fact, I like this phone so much, that I wouldn't mind skipping the OnePlus 5 this time around, and I'm close to adding the Le Max 2 to the list of best phone's I've ever used, joining the OnePlus One, OnePlus 3, OnePlus 3T, because of its price to performance ratio, XDA community, and feature set. The IR blaster comes in handy, the QHD display is great, I actually prefer it to the one on the LG V20 because the one I had for a little while had some wicked light bleeding because of the ticker display, the camera is actually pretty good too better than the one on the Le Pro3 which I also had for a little while last year. I wouldn't record in 4K without a gimbal or tripod though, but I did the same with my OnePlus 3T.
Anything less than snapdragon 820 is garbage. This phone is cold, fast, and cheap. Any issue can be fixed with a new Rom

Dude, tone it down a little, you're worse than my little sister in exaggerating things... The camera works, it's no where near "totally broken" or unusable... Also, Lineage OS is not the end all be all as far as ROMs go with this device, so let's not paint a picture here with broad strokes. There are plenty of well supported ROMs for the Le Max 2, and progress is being made. I now get 5 hours and 30 minutes of screen on time on RR with 15% to spare. I couldn't say the same two weeks ago...
People that complaining this and that get off the tread and sold the thing its your choice. Everything work well except the FP, many of custom roms if you like flashing them. So nothing to bitter about.

There are basically four ROMs for this phone: two stock, Chinese and Indian, and two open source, RR and LOS. Other ROMs are for people who don't care about the security and safety of their bank accounts and private lives. I wonder how on earth one can trust a ROM created by a random John Doe from God knows where. Will you trust a ROM created specifically by me? Well, then, why do you advocate for the similar ROMs distributed via xda-dev forums?

Most of the "other Roms" you mentioned are from the same dev of RR. So, if you don't trust them, you can't trust RR.
Also, if you follow your logic, only the Chinese and Indian ROMs are trustable, cause both RR and LOS were made by "a random John Doe from God knows where".
Stop being so paranoic. Every one can discover everything about your life these days. It's not a ROM that will change that.

You do raise a good point, and I can't argue against that concern. It's been years since I heard anyone else raise that concern, but I do wonder just how feasible it is to do today and if there have been any cases of this kind of theft within the XDA community.

My Mi Max 2 arrived two days ago, i'm really really happy, battery lasts two days with strong use, and everything is smooth. It was not so easy to go through the unlock procedure but now i'm done.
Me to, very happy so far. Coming from Samsung Note4, and that seems to be the end of Samsung phones for me!

How does it compare to your old note 4? I have a note 2 that is just about completely dead and hope for a sizeable jump - my only real worry is camera quality.

I've a Note 3 running Resurrection rom. Just got this last Friday and love the bigger screen, I remember getting the note 1 and nobody could believe the size, and now the note 3 is just about average, lol. Anyways I'll be missing the stylus and removable battery, but other than that it seems good. Just waiting for the 72 hrs to pass so that I can root and unlock the thing. For less than half the price of a Note 8 and the same price here as a second-hand several year old note 4 I don't think you can do wrong.

Buddy, How is the screen quality conpared to the note 3?
It's amoled vs lcd / 380dpi vs 344dpi. Im really considering this one or the LG V20?
Is it too big for pockets?
Screen seems ok to me, it's not as vivid but wil do the job browsing and reading pdfs which is my main use. I've thousands of photos too and they seem ok. Sizewise it's longer and sticks out a little bit from my pockets but not enough to bother me.
I am in love with this device, But bit disappointing with MIUI which uses more ram. Waiting for stable custom rom.:fingers-crossed:
I have a Redmi Note 3. I'm looking for a larger phone. My mom wants to take my Redmi once I get a new phone.
My only concern with this phone is custom ROM support as I don't like using MIUI. Are the chances this will be supported by LineageOS officialy sometime soon? (Mi Max 1 seems to have great custom ROM support). If yes, I'll be buying this phone right away.
Also, I'm confused. Some pages mention this phone has NFC and some don't. Does it have NFC. Doesn't affect my descision to buy this phone but still.

Yes, only thing I'm missing is the picture quality from Samsung, even though it was very much slower to focus, noticed specially when scanning bar codes. In very dark envioment it can be seen that it has ips screen and not amoled. But it cost 1/5 of a new Samsung Note, so i don't care. Specially since my Note4 failed with the "mmc_failed" error after 2 years, and Samsung wont emit it's a production failure.

Decent but the lack of multi color LED notification is a big downer.

I got the phone cheap $229 4/64 (it was 199 yesterday at Gearbest). TOTAL LOVE. Perfect build quality. Fast. Gets a great signal on AT&T (the only signal in my neighborhood). Better than my Samsung despite AT&T's claims it would barely work at all. Yes, it says H+ on the display instead of 4g, but I suspect I was getting H+ already, marketed as 4g, which is what they do in the states.
What's more, I'm getting Volte now with AT&T prepaid -- prepaid customers don't get Volte! (Not that it's much use with this carrier).
In call volume is fine and the speaker quality is great. It wasn't loaded with crapware and unrooted, I was able to disable some system apps (some apps, like the calculator, are terrific).
Regarding the battery: I got a lemon. It's lasting a full day, maybe a day and a half -- but I'm a light user! No gaming, not even online much. I don't run anything except for downloaded audiobooks. But it goes to show you how much I love the phone that I wouldn't even consider sending it back for warranty service. All the way to China? I'd be without it for days, maybe weeks!
It's not perfect. I can't believe TV out is missing -- no way to connect to a monitor with OTG, no matter how many adaptors you use, I'm told. And Xiaomi's firmware prevents you from doing full backups or downloading nonessential updates unless you're on wifi. They claim you can toggle this, but they're sneaky buggers ... you toggle, it says downloading, but when you look for the completed file it says 'scheduled'. I *****ed and moaned in the forum, but hundreds have cried before me, to no avail.
There are a few odd little paternalistic issues with the OS -- not that ATT and Samsung don't dictate what I can do with my device and service -- they're a thousand times worse -- but their preferred forms of control are motivated by profit, not concern for what's 'good' for me. What do they care if I guzzle data?
On the other hand, Xiaomi employees actually monitor the forums. After the major software update, they solicited bug reports and issued fixes for them in a couple of days -- even for the minor bugs.

I do love Xiaomi Mi Max 2 except one thing. I can't unlock bootloader on MIUI 9 Global Stable, I get the error 86006 (with some Chinese letters). I know that it can be fixed by flashing on developper rom but I would like to get it fixed without flashing the device.

Yep, I had the same problem. I don't understand why Xiaomi does this.
I ended up giving in and installed a fresh dev ROM and then it worked perfectly.
Loving mine in Canada. I am a heavy user minus gaming(unless you count Scrabble) and I get 2 full days on a charge consistently. I stream sports and movies onto it, lots of music and other normal surfing/social media stuff and it doesn't get hot and the battery just keeps on going. It's early but so far I would definitely recommend the phone and the company. Excellent build quality and attention to detail. This phone was made with me in mind
Guys Currently I am using SAMSUNG GALAXY S7 and planning to buy this device during this BBD for 15k.
As it's been more than a year since POCO F1 was launched, and if I will buy this phone or any other then I am gonna use it for at least 2yrs minimum.
I am very much confused, have so much questions in mind..
1) Will it go that long(2yrs)?
2) Is it worth to buy now?
3) Do you feel the need of an ultra wide lens as of now it's the current trend in market?
4) Does it show screen bleeding or ghost touches?
5) Switching from an amoled to a lcd panel will be bad experience? How is the screen quality?
6) LAST, still there is no news of POCO F2, is it good to buy F1 now or wait for another POCO device with a hope of that it will release soon?

Yes ,Redmi K20 pro is another option but it's out of my budget even after price the will get slashed to 25k during BBD.

poco is old but It's cutting edge competitive because of the aggressive prize cuts, and whatever phone you gonna purchase now for the 15K would be no match of snapdragon 845, it's still the second-best processor for android out there, also It have ultrafast internal memory UFS 2.1 and you can't go wrong with 6 gb of ram so it's pretty future proof, and you know for what I'm buying this in 2019 even after 1 year of its release, the camera! yes, there is 64 MP camera under this range but I've seen semple up close and I'm getting poco.

so the best way is K20 or 9T, with them you have Snapdragon 855, poco have 845.
I have poco, and I like it and I will no buy another for at least 1 year more, until I broke it...
MIUI 11 will come later, but I don't know if MIUI will work to upgrade android from Pie to Q.
If you like flashing ROMs , testing, etc, its no problem for you.
But.....If it were you (Its me! I like having phone with best processor with lower price xD) , I was going to buy K20 or 9T pro (better that Oneplus 7 about specifications and lower price) because poco have 1 year and all what above user (Ramipro) said..

Bought the POCO F1 since the date released and still don't have intent to change the phone yet. The update is lesser for now since the global beta is shut down but still quite active. I have no problem using it to play Mobile Legend China with Med-high spec. The camera itself is actually not bad, if you are not a professional camera person. For me, there are no screen bleeding nor ghost touches. For the screen well, amoled screen is always good but so I guess this is the cost here (not that I say POCO is bad, just amoled screen is gooood).
Well anyway, the spec of POCO F1 is still quite good for now so if you don't mind of old phone, go straightly buy it. Otherwise I'll just wait POCO F2 or buy newer phone.

This was the only reason I was considering this device, as it has much better development community than one plus devices has right now.
Also you are right about K20pro, it's also the value for money for sd855 because of its a new chipset and better than oneplus 7..

I had an F1 and sold it and got the Mi9T. I didn't like the 9T's under display fingerprint sensor (the position and speed of it; I like the tactile feel of a physical button). I sold the 9T and got a used Galaxy S9+. The battery life was terrible. I'm not sure if it was software related or if the battery was too old. However, I returned it, and I've just ordered a new F1. I plan to flash it with ResurrectionRemix or PixelExperience. It's the best phone I've owned (I've owned a lot), and I don't care if it's over a year old.

Now I am confident about F1, I will buy that, as I will use custom roms only.. But one thing I want to ask that does it have screen bleeding issue when you had your previous F1? My friends who bought have that issue

Okay, that means the screen bleeding issue was there only in the first batch when it was released.
I bought the Poco F1 after 3 months it was released and using it for a year and i am very happy with it. Never had touch problems or screen bleeding, i am a casual user, i take photos with google camera and the results are amazing, the only games i play are Vainglory and Auto Chess on 60 fps high settings and everything is buttery smooth. A friend of mine found a deal at a local store here in Romania for 190 euro which i think is a fantastic deal. The battery life is great, i usually get 4-5 h of screen on time and 2 days of usage, i think with Pixel Experience or LOS you can get better battery life but i like MIUI built in features so i am using the latest MIUI 10 with Android 9. Its is a good phone but screen is not that great you gonna notice this more since you were using s7. There is ghost touch problem many people are facing it but performance is good, camera is good enough for the price battery life is great i get 8-9 hrs of screen on time regularly also development is good lots of custom ROMs stuff. So it really depends on your priorities do you really need this performance.
If not there are plenty of other phones with better screen and camera's. Phone with snapdragon 7 series will good enough

Daammmnnnnnn all those clicks were soo good, that it was like clicked from a high end phone. Gcam really did the great job in preserving details in the clicks when compared to stock....Well that's a peace of mind about camera department....
But still one thing I wanna ask ,do you feel the need of an ultra wide lens?

The camera has a wider lens than the competition, i compared it to Mate 20 Pro main camera and Poco camera is wider. Also the difference between the 2 phones are not that big, Poco with GCam is almost the same as the Mate even in night mode. I impressed allot of people with the photos i took, most of the people thought it was a high end smartphone like iPhone, Samsung, Huawei.

Actually I was considering this phone because of highly active development community only, it has lots of custom roms, tweaks, mods etc etc...
I was only confused because last time I bought brand new S7 ,it was one & half yr already old after the launch. In 2017 at that time it doesn't really bothered me because change of trend in smartphone market was not that really fast as of now, but still after some time(5mnths) I felt, at least I should gone for a device which has highly active development because S7 always had a problem either custom rom is not compatible with gcam or if it's compatible then quality of the photo is f**ked up.
But now days smartphone trends has paced up so fast that even after 6months it seems like you are out of the time.
Yaa I know, once you are with the device with such a support of development you are never gonna worry about this thing.
Well the main thing is that, Xiaomi has never spoken a word about Poco, that it is dead even after Jai Mani(head of product) has left the POCO brand.
It's the main point of my confusion, if I buy today F1 and company launches another POCO, then I would regret that I should wait at that time. But if Poco lineup is dead and I bought some other device,then again I would have regret that I left F1, which already has so much development.....
Another thing also confuse me, K20pro is just the appropriate upgrade and a successor to F1, seems like if another poco was to be launched, it was this K20pro. Then I should go for k20pro, but on k20pro I don't like that in-display fingerprint & motorised camera...
This whole sh*t thoughts has put me in a great confusion right now... should I consider F1 or not?

If you have budget around 15k i would suggest just go for it. There is no competition for this price range. I dont there will be poco f2 at this point I think they killed poco for k series. This phone has really good development as there are already Android Q ROMs available at this moment.
I have my Poco for almost one year and I can say that is really good for me.
- Battery is decent to great but it charges from 0 to 100% in almost 2h (I'm ok with that though);
- camera, as it was said, with GCAM, takes nice shots;
- it is planned to get Android 10 with MIUI 11 as well and I think that the community will support it afterwards;
- I really like the face unlock function with IR, works perfect almost every time (in strong light I encountered some delays);
- Fingerprint sensor is really fast and a good location, but somehow, because I got used to the face unlock, I barely use it;
- no overheating;
- I'm using as well MIUI 10 (with franko kernel) cause I like more the face unlock process on it, also the full screen navigation gestures;
- My device has the screen bleeding issue in the bottom side (I got used to it immediately) and had touchscreen issues but got better through the updates (I think it still lags behind other phones, usually in fast scrolling);
- It would've been great to have NFC for mobile payments;
- the design it's quite old with big notch and big chin;
If you mean that you will find it for 15k INR, I think it's worth it

Just buy POCO or give ₹2K extra and buy Asus Zenfone 5Z it's also good with premium design, HiRes earphones in the box. I am buying POCO F1 in the sale from Amazon. If you're buying POCO F1 then buy it from Amazon, because it is ₹1K cheaper in Amazon. ₹15K for 6+128

Well, I haven't had software problems.
I come from a OnePlus9 pro and there I had more software problems. It would once crash and the screen would go black and couldn't be unlocked. I felt worse with the OP than I did with the Zenfone9.
Asus has updated my phone once every month. That in OnePlus did not happen to me.
In short, it depends on the personal experience of each one.
And if you can, go for the 16gb, but you will only have it black... I love red model! Snif...
I write to you from a black Zenfone9 16gb with the official beta of Android 13.
I would go for thisone over the 10T. OnePlus Software is just not good anymore. This fone is what OnePlus was onces.

Pretty much, the OP9 was the last OnePlus before they got fully merged into oppo. Check the OnePlus 10P/T forums here to see all the problems.
I came to this phone from OP 7T Pro, there are few things I don't like (the camera is not as great as I hoped and the bezels around the display are pretty huge, especially after coming from 7T Pro), but overall it is a great phone. The FP reader is the best I ever tried, it unlocks on instant, it cannot be any quicker, I love the small footprint, this is the main reason I went for this phone. I hate those huge 6.7"+ devices, I have short thumb. And all the small phones are usually low or mid tier, this one is a proper high tier phone, very smooth and fast.
The battery is also awesome, almost 2x better than my OP 7T Pro, which wasn't too bad either. And I'm using 120Hz and AoD, I'm getting 6+ SOT easily. With 7T Pro I was getting 3-4 hours SOT
SW wise it is great, as someone wrote before me, it is what OnePlus used to be. Clean Android experience with few extras. I didn't have any major bugs, just small details, but ASUS is nicely active on their support forum, we are reporting bugs and they are working on them.
I'm currently on the A13 beta and I haven't noticed any major issues so far, smooth experience, good for daily driver.
AND FINALLY the home gesture bug is GONE in A13! Now my Niagara Launcher experience is smooth.
But you cannot judge the phone based on the support forums, all you can find there are issues, right? Nobody is posting on forum about good experiences, people usually post only if they encounter any issue. And there are issues with every phone

Is this phone a good upgrade to the Pixel 5 ?
I've been satisfied with the pixel 5 in general - it feels great to hold, has good bezels, good camera and it's light.
Performance has been better than decent - for the apps and things I use it at least.
But still would like to have a snappier performance with the better chipset that the Zenfone 9 offers.
The only drawbacks I'm seeing with the new Asus Z 9 are the slightly thick bezels, it's weight, camera perf., and ROM development
As far as the camera goes - are the GCams giving any considerable improvements in the Z 9 ? The factory camera app is giving decent results but I think I like my Pixel 5 pics better from the comparisons that I'm seeing.
Also - what do you think ROM development would look like for this phone ? The love these phones get in the NA market is non-existent pretty much. And maybe Lineage will drop a ROM - but would like to see some ROMs dev. in the future.
I'm loving it so far. While I'm not enthused about the two years of updates instead of more, I am learning about ROM development and will post here when I can.

I have a Pixel 5, too, though currently as a backup. Performance is okay on that one, but I can't believe how much better 120 Hz on the ZP9 feels than the 90 Hz on P5. Battery life is also much better, too: P5 is 10-11%/hr screen on rate, ~1% screen off rate; ZP9 is ~8% screen on rate, ~0.8% screen off rate. (Accubattery)
If price isn't an obstacle, I'd recommend it.
I wouldn't change this phone for anything. I upgraded from Zenfone 8, as the one thing that was missing was a physical fingerprint reader (rather than the under-screen one).
The software experience also feels much smoother (stock) than what it was on Zenfone 8 (which I later rooted and flashed wtih LineageOS). I am content keeping this one stock.
i currently have the samsung galaxy s20 5g and debating on i bought the zenfone 9 and try to decide whether to stick with it the Z9 or S20

Was looking at it but seen some downsides. I did enjoy the slider but could live without it. The fast charging and battery seem pretty good. but if anyone owns it can you tell me what you think of it
Personally I really like it, I have never used a oneplus phone before, and the UI is smooth. The battery life is pretty great, and I personally have around 50-60% by the time I go to bed, and it usually goes down by 2-3% overnight. The charging is also insane, as I wake up and it charges before im ready to leave for the day. (20-30 mins) furthermore, it handles gaming really well, and it never really overheats. It is great for emulators, even though it throttles performance slightly compared to other s8+ gen 1 phones. The only possible downside that I see is the probability of few/no custom roms. That was a dissapointment but I can live with it, especially if oos 13 releases soon. All of this is just my opinion however, so maybe consider other people's as well. PS: I am not a big camera person, and if you are, you may want to look elsewhere.

For the roms I hope so, but it may be unlikely without proper recovery tools from what I have read. The screen is 1080p but I find it looks good, Id rather have battery from 1080p anyway. It feels responsive usually, however it sometimes limits refresh rate for games, however that can technically be bypassed with root.

you don't even need to root, I'm pretty sure you can download the SetEdit app from the playstore and change the peak refreshrate to force 120hz.
The phone is good. Other than the custom ROMs maybe not being here, overall it's a good phone. At a good price.
This is an excellent performing device running Stock OS!

Oneplus literally spent everything to try to make this the best performing low price phone on the market, so the place they saved the most money is in the camera department. Honestly, I think my Oneplus 7/7T Pro from 2019 takes better photos because it actually has a good 16mp ultrawide and a 12mp telephoto lens, while the 10T has a 8mp ultrawide and a crappy 2mp macro(booooo, NO TELEPHOTO WHYYYY). However, the 50mp main on the 10T can be alright, a bit better than the 48mp main on the 7 Pro. This will be fine for the average user, but if you really want a flagship killer grade camera, this ain't it.

I actually bought the Chinese version which means it runs ColorOS 13 (same thing as OxygenOS 13). It's ok ig? I actually kinda want to revert to coloros 12.1 b/c of the APK limitation in Android 13. Otherwise the UI is smooth and interactive, so I'd say its on par with One UI 5.

Are you talking about the APK restriction for sideloaded apps that would want to use the accessibility API? What side loaded apps would you use that would require this access?

Modded apps. Really important for me but probably not for most people.

Why do you think the custom roms won't be here? The 10t seems more like the old school oneplus that I remember. Cheaper phone packed with the latest fastest chipset. I thought it would maybe bring some previous oneplus users back.

Apparently the msm tool to recover a soft bricked phone requires a username and password. So if you get in a bad bootloop and can't get back to bootloader, you may not be able to recover on your own. The EDL mode is what msm uses and is almost always going to fix a messed up flash.
Unless that changes, there may not be rom devs to build roms due to that risk. Though who knows what the future holds. It is still early in this devices life.
Depending on how important you find this:
- Camera is average. Unfortunate but not a deal breaker for me
- The alert slider is gone. I'm missing it but no deal breaker either
- The OS is no longer real Oxygen, which was loved by many, but now ColorOS. No true Android experience.
- No wireless charging. Idc about this.
I was planning on getting the Pixel 7, which is better imo. BUT I had a great deal where I got 350 euros off by trading in my old device. Then suddenly it was a no brainer. If you can find a decent deal, I would say the device is worth it. If you would pay full price, I would look into other devices as well. The whole selling point of Oneplus is gone.
That said, I'm loving:
- Battery, mostly the charging speed
- Performance and smoothness
- The 120Hz screen. If you had 120Hz before, you CANNOT go back. It would feel horrible!

So I've used the pixel 6 the pixel for a OnePlus 8 pro the Galaxy S10 and now the OnePlus 10t OnePlus has definitely been the smoothest operating system out of any Android phone I've ever used but this is easily the cheapest and most powerful phone I've ever bought into still cheaper than my OnePlus 8 pro is even though it's the April is a couple years old now and the performance on this thing is insane only downside is reading and modding is very limited at the moment which in time I'm pretty sure will open up more so if you're going for performance and usability I would definitely say It's a Good device if you're going for modding and rooting you should probably go to the pixel phones
Went to T-Mobile yesterday to buy the OP10T, but the store manager talked me into the Pixel 7. Should have gotten the OnePlus. Sharp edges and the fingerprint scanner works half the time. Going too see if they'll waive the restock fee.
