Does anyone is experiencing camera slowness? Whenever I click a photo the camera lags for a second or two and no button works during that time. I've tried the gcam mod and it works fine, but the stock camera looks way better.
I'm using GCAM since the first day I bought this phone, stock mi camera is horrible. But yes, when I used stock cam app, I experienced those lags.

My stock camera seems to be fine the the brightness department, but still pretty laggy. But for the application: Snapchat, it seems as though the front camera is too dark for a 'decent photograph' where as the camera behind seems to work fine. Any solutions to this?

Has anyone gotten this to work? Whenever I take a picture, it ends up being black. Google Camera and Camera FV-5 both are slow to fire, usually a few seconds compared to the stock camera. Has anyone see this or know a workaround?
Yep, I have the exact same problem. I suspect it is because there is 2 rear cameras instead of one. However, you can use the front camera and lens blur will work, although it is not very practical...
If only we could have the source code of google camera...

I really want this lens blue too.
I can't figure it out but sometimes it does work.. mostly not. About 1 out of 5 photos makes it, the rest are black. I can't figure out why some work and some don't..
Haven't hit the issue?using Camera nx though (basically ported Google camera for 6p and 5x on 7.0)
Which Camera app do you use and why?
I've been switching between ABC and Open Camera.
Those both have DRO built in.
ABC night mode works well sometimes.
I like Open Camera HDR and the ability to lower ISO, though it doesnt support 23MP
I haven't had a chance to try the snap camera much.
I'm using CameraNextMod.
Stock - third party apps have worse shutter lag because camera will refocus before capture.

I like keeping with the stock camera because i can use the dedicated camera button, and it uses the full 22.3 mp. With the mod, you could do some manual shooting (minus RAW capture)
You should be able to use the camera button with any camera.
I'd like to use the sony stock, but I'm on Lineage now so I didnt think it would work.

I just tried it with google camera, which is my only other camera app and i just knew now that it works. But the pre-focus doesnt.
Can Lineage capture RAW photos?
Stock because most apps dosnt support the max 23MP only 8MPx beside Camera FV-5
but! Camera FV-5 crash alot, the good thingg in Camera FV-5 you can use while the phone is hot and blow 4% batt, and abit more "control"
Only reason why I use Snap Camera is because I'm using LineageOS
Otherwise, I'd probably stick with default Sony camera
Hi all, I got a s9+ Exynos like 2 days a go,I have a question, does anyone else have rear camera issue on 3rd party apps like WhatsApp or Instagram? When taking pictures with flashlight on? it does not take pictures with the flashlight. In Auto mode works fine but when you do flashlight on is like the flash goes first dan the picture shot, I am not sure if it is my device or apps are not fully compatible yet.

- main camera with HDR
- wide angle
- portrait
- video at 1080p
- H265 video recording
- night sight (but lags)

Here is an example of stock (top) vs Gcam (bottom). Gcam preserves more details (check bricks for example), and makes low light images a bit more clean overall.

The v40 has a very similar night mode, it just doesn't do much and conflicts with the flash. They seem to have tried but quit
I have an apk I found with working Wide angle but I am not sure which one it is (I've got a few in my downloads ?) I'll upload it here when I figure out which it is.

For unfamiliar folks, what makes Google Camera great is the software post processing, particularly Google's HDR, which I never turn off, and portrait - great results. Also somehow GCam manages to preserve more details compared to LG's camera. Now we have working wide angle, I can switch to GCam completely, at least for photos. Night sight working as well, we just have to deal with lag in viewfinder.

Thanks for the link, but am I missing something as far as fixing the extreme lag with the view finder and image capture? Between hitting the capture button and the actual image being taken is several seconds, and the viewfinder lag makes it very hard to use.
I have lag only in night sight mode.
Shutter button works only on second touch for me. And yes, GCam takes a moment to take a picture compared to stock camera, that's just how it works on on phone.

The viewfinder is laggy no matter what for me, and it takes much longer than a moment for the shutter button to register for me. Oh well, maybe I'll have better luck with some future modded APK. The camera that comes stock with the V40 is already pretty good, but having night sight and Google's HDR would be the cherry on top.

Sounds like you missing something in settings. Make sure buffer fix is on on settings - bsg - fixes

It worked! Thank you much more functional now.
so when i try to take a picture it just doesnt take a pic.. also the shutter speed is insanely slow..
