Hi guys,
These apps i am about to introduce will change your phone experience for the better not just our phone for that matter but any Android phone.
1. Immersive Mode Manager (Paid)
This app is a must for every Amoled screen to protect your phone from future screen burn, the other thing is you get to enjoy the full screen experience with every app on your phone. I install this app on all of my Android devices.
I have created a thread long ago doing it manually but i think it's too much of work for people who want an app for that, if you want a manual free alternative check it out.
2. Glimpse Notifications ( Free)
So on the ROG 2 phone only a couple of apps does wake the device when you receive a notification mostly chatting apps and I guess not all of them. This is where Glimpse Notifications solves the problem that is if you just want the screen to simply light up.
3. Blokada (Free)
You must have an Ad blocker on the list if you are unrooted and definitely one of the best open source and free app out there is this one.
4. Fluid Navigation Gestures (Free/Pro Features)
I will dare to say IMPO that it's the best custom gesture navigation app on Android currently. Also it's way better than the default gesture navigation because of the extra features.
5. Tiles (Paid)
Although it's a paid app it's worth its price. The beauty of having it you get options of having tiles of any application you need including the power button which I use mainly for that purpose, instead of clicking and wearing the power button.
6. Edge Gestures (Paid)
This is by one of my favorite developers in the play store, he has some other apps in the play store you should check them out. Now why I recommend this app because with this app you can add extra features to the default system gesture navigation which completes it.
I stopped using FNG because in certain apps it doesn't play well and sometimes it stops. So using this app you can add whatever shortcuts, apps using one swipe from whichever side of the screen you like especially the top part of the side where back swipe doesn't work anyway which makes the default gesture navigation complete.
7. Zone Launcher (Free/Paid)
Launch any app from any screen with one swipe, this is a new favorite.
-------
Edit:
I have removed "Light Flow" from the list due to it not working properly with our device. When you try to customize the led notifications for third party apps and then testing the modifications within the app itself everything seems be okey. But it turns out non of the modifications apply or stick. Anyway for now there isn't any third party app that can customize the led notifications for our device!
I will keep updating this thread once other apps are discovered or suggested.
-------
Thanks for the suggestions! Definitely these apps seem useful and apart from Fluid Nav Gestures and Light Flow, rest are new to me.
Also a small correction, link to Fluid Nav Gestures is wrong(tiles link attached to Fluid Nav Gestures text).

Hi, thanks for these. I really like FNG. However, I'm having an issue with Immersive Mode. All the input boxes that are normally above the keyboard (e.g. try to change the name of your phone) are hidden because they are now under the keyboard.
Any idea how to fix this?

Hi, thanks for these. I really like FNG. How can I disable the standard action bar because currently, when I do the recents, it is simulating a double tap because I think both System UI and FNG are doing it

Make sure that the system navigation is set to virtual key navigation instead of gesture. Now if you have the pro version of FNG you can disable the navigation bar from the app settings. So either buy the pro version of FNG and disable the navigation bar from there or use another app to disable the navigation bar which you can find some apps do that in the play store.

Make sure it's not killed by mobile manager. Also disable battery optimization for it. Personally I mainly use a different color for two apps sms and calls. I use red color for calls and yellow for sms.

On my side when I do a test it works fine. But I can't confirm if it's working all the time because I can't recall the last time I noticed the notification light of my custom notifications.
Try to reinstall the app and play with settings.

I tried everything. I also have the pro version of led blinker, and that doesn't work either.

I only see the notification light when the phone is off and is charging
I use the APP dimly. It helps lower the minimum brightness on the phone so you won't get blinded using it in a dark room.
I just updated my phone to 1908.21 WW and now ther LED notification is back and working again!

I have tried both Fluid Navigation Gestures and Edge Gestures, both pro/paid version, and the system will sooner or later make them stop working, and have to enable them again, having to give them permission to draw over other apps from time to time and it is a bit annoying. did you or someone manage to make it work perfectly? any tips on what might I be doing wrong? thanks
I don't think Tiles app works as it says it's only for Naugut and Oreo. I have paid for it and now it's not working. I don't know why did you say that it works with our phone. You should not give wrong info to others without checking.

If you don't know how to use it that's is your problem, I have it right now on my device working. Add to that I haven't recommended any app on this thread without testing. Choose your words carefully!

Just ran across Floatify in the Playstore: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jamworks.floatify
Seems to work on the lockscreen the way Android Marshmallow notifications should work! I disabled the heads up setting in the app, but in my 5 minutes of playing with it, the lockscreen works GREAT! You can keep your ZTE lockscreen, the notifications just display on top of it and you can swipe them away. You do disable the stock notifications, but this has worked fine in my email and text test as well as a few Dropbox notifications.
It lets you expand the notifications too.
Only down side I've seen so far, you need the "pro" version ($1.49) to get the notifications to stack on top of each other.....Otherwise, with the free version it still works....But the newest one is on top, when you swipe it away there is one under it....so if you get 6 notifications, to see the first one you'll need to swipe away all the others on top. I've already purchased the "pro" version, otherwise I'd test that setting out to make sure I'm correct in telling you this?
But all's I know, I'm really happy with this $1.49 app!

Well, when I first tried it, it didn't show anything... Then when I was about to post this, I checked again and it shows up just like a standard notification (along with the others).
I'm using Shuttle+ and the top one is the music notification. No controls, just "what's playing".
Lol.....It even reminds me that my wife took the Kohl's card last month and used it (busted).
Best solution I've seen so far.

It's a flashable .zip font called "ChinaCat". You have to be rooted to use it, since it flashed via TWRP.
Yes, amazing. I hated that bell, now it's six feet under.
I just wanted to provide a different option for anybody who wants the finger print scanner + album art to work.
Hi Locker.
Main benefits: full album art with the audio controls and works with finger print scanner.
The main downfall is if you want to do the finger print scanner, you have to have ZTE's stock lock screen enabled which means you'll have two lock screens.
It works two different ways.
1. If you press the power button, it'll bring up the ZTE lock screen with the bell. If you have your lock screen set at swipe, it'll then go to the Hi Locker lock screen which will display notifications. If you press the button, you can unlock by using the finger print scanner twice. So, ultimately, using the power button and swiping immediately will bring you to the next screen and that will have all your notifications including album art taking over the wall paper and audio controls.
2. If you use the finger print scanner, it'll bypass the ZTE lock screen and go straight to the Hi Locker screen. Now you'll be able to function with all the other above. You can then use the finger print scanner a second time and you'll completely unlock the phone.
It's a weird way but this was the best way to get the finger print scanner and album art going at the same time... until ZTE releases something.

tele_jas, Thanks for sharing this one! I think it's much better than having a second lockscreen. I left my native notifications turned on,but just turned on the "Show on the lock screen" option (to kill the bell). Then, inside Floatify's settings, under Heads-up, then under "When", I disable "On Notification", but left "On Lockscreen" set to All Notifications. So I have Floatify only on top the lockscreen, and the default system notifications everywhere else.
Great find!
Thanks for this thread, love this app it's a massive improvement to the Axon 7.

Looks very promising.
Just bought it.
Just one question how disable the bell icon being on lock screen or it's not possible to all time hide it?
Edit: I don't know but find it very complicated through setting.
Too many settings and similar option
Missing simplicity from the app.

Just uninstalled and got refund.
Sorry I find the app too messy and complicated with dozens of similar option and settings.
Prefer next lock screen as lock screen replacement and I'm using glimpse notification to wake up screen on notification alert and double tap to sleep from lock screen.
Or just wait if being stock until ZTE make the bell optional witch not being late until released via software update.

How disable not interact badly on lock screen when pull down notification while playing music??
Also interact badly with player pro widget on notification center when pull down while playing music.

Sorry to those not happy with it and are asking me questions on how to use it?..... I liked it and found it useful and posted the link. I don't really know much of, or any of the technical stuff about it, I just set it up and left it alone and haven't touched it since day one. No, it's not perfect and not as useful as real stock android notifications, but I still like it MUCH better than the "bell".
I do know when you "start the app", you'll get the option to disable the stock android notifications (the three choice menu). You want to choose to not show any notifications and this will disable the "bell". There is someone on here uses it a slightly different way and left instructions on how they used it.
I've been using AOSP roms on various phones for quite some time and have gotten hooked on using my phone in full screen while using PIE to navigate. Especially on a large phone i find this so so so much easier. Here are some tips i found out through trial and error to what i've found is an awesome experience. I'm using a rooted NF50F which makes doing this easier, though it still can be accomplished unrooted
1. To navigate around your phone use the best Pie application out there imo which is supported on these forums as well LMT
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1330150
this app is so great because of how you can customize it. there are other non root alternatives in the play store but this is the best imo if you have root.
2. fully hide the navigation bar so it never pops up - this is the only way you can use LMT on the bottom of your phone which is excellent for one handed browsing. to do this you need to add the following line to the build.prop and the nav bar is gone forever even after reboots
qemu.hw.mainkeys=1
add this line to the bottom of your build prop and save. if you ever want the keys back change the number to 0.
3. use the app SystemUI Tuner to hide the status bar. go under the immersive mode tab and select status bar. Note - you can also hide the nav bar with this app, but it is not fully hidden as it still appears with any upward swipe.
4. I turn edge lighting on so i see notifications when my phone is on. i don't want the entire message shown on my screen so edge lighting works great for me and is a great feature of this phone. you can even get edge lighting working with gmail. i also use textra pro for texting.
there are different ways to make your phone truly immersive including Xposed but if you don't want to used Xposed this is the best solution IMO.
other recommended apps:
Light Flow - to customize your led notification light
bx actions - https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...-bxactions-remap-bixby-button-double-t3673372
material notification shade - can auto expand all notifications and get dark notifications
autonotifications - you can add more buttons to gmail like mark as read, spam, etc
Hi everyone,
I came across this new app showcased by YouTuber, Mrwhosetheboss in his recent video called Power Shade and oh boy has it revamped my whole notification shade!

I figured you guys would love it too and decided to share.

I don't know why it's not on the Play Store, I emailed the developer complimenting and asking why it's not on the Play Store, will post back here when I get a response.
I came across this Google Sans font in the app itself and it looks amazing on my notification shade, would anyone know how to get the Google Sans font for my whole device?
Thanks a ton in advance!
Power Shade is truly AMAZING app for Android (No Root Needed)
https://youtu.be/uhIRuamiKoo
Powershade is Amazing! Funny how you got Android Sans also. We think alike. I emailed the dev also as it was in the Play Store and has only just recently been removed..no response though. The issue is however that a lot of the quick setting toggles you will notice dont work or take you straight to settings, eg Hotspot and the accessory permission will revert from time to time. Apart from that it gives the mate 20 pro a beautiful refresh from that horrid emui
Is it normal that i have both the power shade notification shade and the standard emui? depends on where i slide down from
That’s usually an indication to me that the accessibility service has been disabled. It frequently disables for some reason, I sorta fixed that by turning offf all the battery optimisation etc for the app. Both ways through battery settings and special app permissions OTE=TeeKay35;78482099]Is it normal that i have both the power shade notification shade and the standard emui? depends on where i slide down from[/QUOTE]
I just found it on the play store again
Once I give the app Accessibility permissions, I get an "1" as in an "unread notification" permanently stuck in my status bar. If I revoke the permission the notification goes away, but the app doesn't work any longer.
Does anyone know how to make that "1" go away ?
I tried this app but ended up uninstalling it. It's an interesting idea but I noticed that it negatively impacted the performance of my phone. Scrolling within several apps (including Google Play) was less smooth when this app was running as an accessibility service and returned to normal after this app was no longer running.
I also didn't like that it created an overlay not just over the notification shade but also over the system tray. I think the default Huawei system tray with dark theme enabled looks way better than the one this app creates.
I use the 4 button navigation tray option (the 4th button pulls down notifications as an alternative to swiping from the top of the screen) + the built in option to hide the display notch.
Using these options the notification pull down was smooth from the top of the screen but when using the navigation button instead there was a flash of white on either side of the notch every time notifications were pulled down.
Problem with this app was i started getting poor battery life out of my phone since the installation of this app. Avoid it
I have no battery problems with this app.
my phone it´s normal since i installed this app.
When making an app a device administrator there is often a performance hit or other problems like battery drain. I definitely noticed a performance hit while running this app but the results might be better for some people than I had. As a rule of thumb you want to give as few apps as possible device administrator priveledges.
Installed it, give all permission, untick from 'Launch' in Battery settings, all works flawlessly. No battery drop because of using it, no performance drop & power shade all the time when i slide down (no more emui stock notification). This is by far the most theme changing using the restricted Emui 9. Good!
Any trouble with it causing problems with screenshot features, mine freezes on knuckle gesture and goes to screen recording from the drop quick panel.

Where is the option for auto brightness?
Hello guys, thanks for sharing power shade with us!
I've got a problem with the toggles, I press on the data one to switch it on but it doesn't switch it on and I have to press and hold to activate it manually.
Anyone experiencing that?
Nice app - I used to use Material Notification Shade back in the day when I was on a Nougat ROM on my S7 Edge, it wasn't compatible with Android O though, but now I can resume using it on Android P
The dev says he's going to try to get it back on the Play Store soon so that the pro features can be unlocked.
It would be great if he can fix the screenshot issues when selecting from the drop down quick panel. It just keeps going to record screen instead, but actually freezes up. I've sent numerous emails highlighting the error.

So I thought I would start a thread since this seems to be the best app out there to replace our missing notifications LED. This seems to be the best solution at the moment but I'm having some issues.
1. I can't seem to get the colors to change on a per-app basis.
2. The edge lighting around the notch doesn't seem to work.
Has anyone else figured this out or have any other suggestions?
Here is a link to the app for those that haven't tried it yet.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.used.aoe
In settings for the app, give it the required permissions, scroll down to the blue box that says "enable app and its color and time", select the app you want, check enable edge lighting, (I have only checked out One Color) then tap the colored box, and select the color you want, and press Choose.
Been playing with it today. Works well enough that I paid. One remaining concern, is effect on battery so we'll have to see how it behaves tomorrow.
For the ring around the camera, enable "notch support" under widget settings and make sure you have either "around all screen" or "around notch only" selected under lighting above.
To get per app notifications, use the "when a notification comes" option under how to start and it will open up a selection.
Another really cool feature is "display notification icons" that can be used together work edge lighting, or stand alone by itself to create an alternative to aod that stays on when there are notifications pending.

Try the system apps checkbox. The UI isn't the greatest and it took me a while to get mine sorted out, but seems to work really well one configured.

System apps checkbox in the AOE? Didn't see this option. If on the individual app, I've set all notifications to on
I've been playing with the notch ring only cause is what I am interested but it somehow disable Always Display and dont know how to get it back... I just want the led notch ring notifications
Is it me or does this app have an archaic setup process? It just looks so dated and hard to use.

Found that. Thank you.
Which option do you choose for the following;
*allow this app to run without restriction or
*allow the system to prevent this app from running sometimes
I am curious....it cannot be setup to work as the original led notifications, right? I mean, the light ring disappears after a few seconds...cannot be set to repeat after a certain period of time..?
Yeah, it has a reminder function. Thanks for clarifying to myself )
Curious about battery usage with this app. The features are cool but the setup is just a pain.

You can set the time that it shows up and also there is a repeat option as well.
Hi. Great app!! However... Even tho I've ticket to show the app's icon when a notification is received... I don't. Any ideas? Cheers
I can't get this to work at all on my s10. wanted to it flash different colours (with screen off) for variety of notifications (Skype, WA, Nine (email). Messenger). None work. can't get any light to come on at all....is there something I'm missing!?
Make sure that the built in edge lighting isn't turned on.

Thanks - all good. Seemed that Nine was supported as Samsung email works fine as does Whats App. To me this is a 100% solution to the no LED light so happy days..
Yes I'm very happy with it so far. :good:
Im still tweaking with this - can't seem to figure out how to get rid of the AOD it puts on the phone. I just want the notification ring.
I cant seem to get this to work as well
Hey all, I couldn't get the ring notifications working with the app on S10, but I have found a solution. The app is called "Always on AMOLED" and there is a setting to have a blinking light when a notification comes. No added screen, only downside is its only one color. Anyway, thought id share! It would be neat if there was an app that could have multiple different colored flashing dots when the screen is off, so for example, you get a text and fb message, 2 different colored dots on the screen.
Any feedback on how to set this up correctly? I couldnt get mine to work and it kept showing an AOD display with the clock on it.
Hello!
Go into "Customize Watchface", then "Clock Style" and choose the "Hidden" option
It just doesn't do it for me. I'm stickying to stock AOD.
Better Than Blinking Light For Notifications

I use aodNotify (Jawomo) and it works great. You can have different options for locked and unlocked as well as customize which apps get notification and change colors for each app. I tried it out when I got my phone and then donated the pittance for the pro version (buy me a coffee). It's now listed in the play store as Notification Light / LED Note10, S10 - aodNotify. :good:
