Failed to Mount - Moto Z Questions & Answers

Hey guys
Don't know where exactly to post this. But I need urgent help. Not sure what went wrong, but tried to flash Lineage. However, when I wanted to do a clean wipe I got a failed to Mount ' /vendor (invalid agreement)
Any idea of how to get out of this, or if there is something I can re flash ? I tried to change the partitions etc but nothing seems to be working.
I have a Moto Z and I'm stuck in TWRP. Apologies for the inconvenience here

Guys might have figured it out. quick question, when wiping, what are the ones i need to tick off, before installing a new rom?
is it
'Cache
davlik
system
vendor

To get around tha "mount vendor" issue you have to update to latest TWRP 3.3.1.0.

Can't mount partitions...?

I have a phone that is refusing to cooperate. It's probably because I suck at Android.
I'm trying to get ANYTHING on this phone, but it just won't do it. I have fastboot up and running, and flashed CWM. I used ADB to sideload Cyanogen, and rebooted to the HTC logo looping.
Thing is, CMW 10.1, TWRP 2.4.3 and 2.4.0 cannot mount the SDcard, system partition, data, or cache. I earlier flashed the kernel to the Blade kernel, and flashed back to stock thinking this was the issue.
The main issue: get those partitions mounting, then get a rom on.
BTW, if anyone lives in Victoria, BC, I will pay you to get this thing off the ground with all features working.
AW: Can't mount partitions...?
there is nothing to mount
its a MTP device.
Which phone version did you own? International or AT&T / TELUS?
Have a look here and read Q6.

Well, majority of the tutorials that I'm looking at describe flashing from sdcard, etc. Which I cannot do.
AW: Can't mount partitions...?
yes i know, but there is no physical sdcard.
only a partition with the "sdcard" folder "data/media"
I'm having the same problem with my HOX+ (India), the only solution i found is to go for a factory RUU. But no ruu is avilable for my phone
Hope u'll find for yours..
Had the same problem. Try first flashing original recovery. Erase cache. Boot system. Do a factory reset from within booted rom. Then bootloader: Erase cache. Reflash recovery (custom). Erase cache. This did the trick for me.
.... Sorry just realized you can't boot. Did you flash the apropriate Blade kernel for AOSP? However, best would be RUU

Moto E Soft Bricked

Hello everyone, I was with ROM AICP, android 5.1.1 and decided to install Xposed. I made backup, installed the zip and cleaned the cache and the dalvik cache. My phone started but rebooting alone. I decided to restore the backup, but the date, system and the cache is corrupted, so i can not restore the backup. I can enter the fastboot and recovery. And already I tried to restore the stock ROM but only give me errors. What i do? Can anyone help me?
Sorry for my English.

Try reflashing your AICP ROM after wiping cache and dalvik cache.

Once my friend got this 'unable to mount' error, he ended up getting his mother board replaced. Anyways, good luck with your phone. Hope you find a way!

Thanks again, you think Motorola will replace the mother board even with the unlocked bootloader?
They might replace it, but it won't be covered under your warranty.

Why don't you use a different odin version may be much older one or newer one and by the way did u download the right firmware from the right source? Verify whatever I mentioned and give it a try with older odin,or simply follow some YouTube video! Thank me if I had helped you!
Ok i repaired this errors in recovery i install right kernel agaim from this pack (link above) next i install twrp and wipe data cache and other stuff, and when i flashed resurection remix with gapps(and without) my phone get bootloop. I tried cachce data dalvik wipe- doesnt work i tried to flash again this room still bootloop.
How can i repair this? Should i flash by odin stock rom?

Try going back to ext4 format instead of f2fs.
If that doesn't work, try flashing stock via Odin then start over with the guide, I believe there is an updated way to upgrade that has the rePIT built in, try finding it and use that guide.

Stuck with wrong bootloader and Lollipop 5.1 installed, want to go to Lineage 14.1

I try to install Lineage 14.1 but I can't because It says wrong bootloader, and that my bootloader is unknown. I installed lollipop by flashing the system.img image and the boot.img image because I had no ROM installed because my internal storage and SD card got corrupt or something. Can anyone help me by supplying a Lineage 14.1 backup or a LineageOS system.img and boot.img file? Thanks in advance...
Wrong bootloader . . .?????
I think the issue you are having is what I was having, and that is that you are not COMPLETELY wiping the previous operating system. Use TWRP's advanced features to make sure you do a complete wipe.
Can someone tell me if you use the advance wipe and wipe the system if that solved the bootloader error, I am concerned because once you wipe the system you have nothing to go back to if it doesnt work

I was getting the same error the user above was until I used TWRP's advanced wipe and got rid of everything. Of course make sure you do a backup of whatever you currently have working just in case, but once I did an advance wipe I was able to installed Cyanogen. I however still cannot get Lineage 14.1 to work, it simply gets into an install loop. But since your question was about the boot loader, once I did the complete wipe the error message you are referring to went away for me.
thank you for your reply
hi i am from india and huge fan of huawei i got this phone from usa(mt2-l03) i rooted the phone using some one click root tool and tried to flash twrp which ended in saying recovery image failed, please update to the authorized images.however as there was was root i changed the dpi(think 420) now the phone screen is blank(only in the system ui not the boot image or vendor image(huawei)) i am having the imei and s/n at the battery but i dont have the product id so is there any way i can get the product id and unlock the bootloader of my phone or is there any way to repair my phone
In the general area, in the stickies there are many options you might try. This one https://forum.xda-developers.com/as...to-fix-soft-bricked-phone-using-twrp-t2886630. Seems like it might be the way out for you but I'm not a dev or an expert, just someone who's screwed up his phone alot and found fixes in that section

S9+ Cant install Pixel Experience 13

I have flashed twrp wiped the phone, but when i try to install pixel experience i get Failed to mount '/system' and '/vendor' (invalid argument)
I have tried changing from ext4 to ext2 and back to ext4 again but it still doesnt work
Wipe Dalvik/ART, Cache, System, Data as before every rom install, if that doesn't work you will have to flash boot.img but don't do this with the restore method in twrp, only use the install button.

Glad you work it out. Don't know about your phone but what i heard is in order to flash A13 rom you have to flash original A11 firmware on your phone.
Have a nice one!
