How to extract ramdisk from phone for patching? - Huawei P20 Lite Questions & Answers

Hi,
I wonder if there is a possibility to "extract" the ramdisk partition of a p20 lite directly out of the phone for "magisk-patching"?
Maybe I did not look on the right places, but I could not find something helpful...
Best regards and thanks in advance,
Otto

Open your defconfig file located in arch/arm/configs
Code:
[I]You will find something like:[/I]
[B]CONFIG_EXT4_FS is not set[/B]
[I]Change it to:[/I]
[B]CONFIG_EXT4_FS=y[/B]
Then you may have to define it in init.rc for the system to mount ext4 partition.

You may have to edit something, because that guide is pretty much device-specific, but theoretically everything's just same. Just have a good info about the partition structure of your device.

[Q] Need some help with modifing kernel

Hello,
I'm not sure if this is just a dumb noob question or not,
but if i unpack my boot.img file from my moto g, using android kitchen (cygwin) and if i repack it again, without modifying anything, the size of my kernel goes from 10MB to 6MB, and the created boot.img can't be used anymore.
Does anybody have an idea what i do wrong? I need this to port a kernel (replace bootclasspath)
Thank you in advance!
