Hi guys,i have very uncommon question - is there any way to turn OFF carrier aggregation on LG V30?
Ive tried hidden menu to turn it off at all but after restart nothing changes.
I will appreciate for any help. If you have a way to disable specific band it will help me too.

Download Network Signal Guru from PlayStore, it has the option to lock bands but it requires you to be rooted!

I think the hidden menu option works until you restart it.... Restarts reset those settings.

Hi
I bought MetroPCS LG L70 MS323 unlocked. I am from india and i realised now that this doesnot support 2100hz UMTS frequency which is the one in india for 3G.:crying:
Please help whether i can flash different international firmware to make it work on 2100hz band
Thanks & regards
Bands are your hardware so you can't,download the lg firmware update tool to see if your firmware updates.

Hi i read that the phones are made for all markets. So the manufacturer would have just disabled this band for metro pcs
so i was thinking whether by flashing different firmware we can activate this band

I believe it has the 2100hz band. To check all the available bands on the phone do the following:
1. On the dialer, key in 3845#*323# to bring up the hidden menu.
2. Then select the following menus: WCDMA-Only > Modem Settings > Network Mode
3. You should see WCDMA 2100. From googling my understanding is UMTS is built on top of WCDMA. So technically you're good.
Now why 3G may not work in India - One possibility is you may not have the APN settings configured for the local operator.

Since the title of this thread refers to flashing firmware, I've a question: Can one flash the international (D320) firmware i.e. kdz file without any modification on the MS323 phone? Yes I'm aware about the boot loader being locked. But the goal here is to flash LG's own kdz as is - perhaps by tricking the LG Mobile Support Tool. There is a thread that talks in general about flashing any kdz. But it appears to be leveraging the older version of LG tool. Curious, if any one has tried using the newer version or has alternatives ideas if this can be done.
can we unlock the bootloader
hi thank u for the reply. itried the way u told. there is wcdma2100 available. but when i select this it says fail.
but for wcdma1900 it says pass.
i think since metro pcs doesnot operate on 2100hz this may be disabled in s/w.
tthat is reason i was asking bout flashing diff firmware
can we unlock the bootloader ??
thanks

Check out the Metro PCS LG 70 thread for the D320 firmware (FYI - It's not D320N but D320 may be of alternate interest). There is also another thread about flashing KDZ. If you're able to flash successfully, please do post your experience.

FYI - On a different thread (scroll to post #790), they have now posted instructions on how to unlock the boot loader. Perhaps one can now try to flash the d320 firmware.

The band may have been disabled via software. If that is the case, you may get lucky. But if the hardware itself is absent to begin with, then the flashing will not help. Unless one tries, one cannot conclusively tell one way or the other.

According to earlier comments#5, the MS323 hardware supports WCDMA 2100 band, but this band is blocked by software.
So, anyone can try this method to unlock 2100 bands.

I am also looking to see if the LG L70 can be flashed to a different baseband radio. I'd like to see if flashing the international firmware will not delete any data on my phone. I travel to Spain and woudl like the L70 to be on anything other than the 2G it defaults to. My L70 is BootLoader unlocked, carrier unlocked and rooted. Thanks.
Hi to all,I'd like to buy a mobile LG's G5 and I found it with code F700.But I also see that here at Greece it is selling code H850.So I'd like to ask if anyone knows about the differences between the 2 versions F700 and H850?What these code means?About the network or what?Just to mention that I've allready asked LG Official support at Greece and they don't know nothing to help about.
Is there any opinions?Thank You

Korean version (F700) vs. EU version (H850).
F700 can't unlock bootloader -> can't root.
H850 can root.
And the supported basebands are different between these 2 variants (you should google more).

If it's actually an F700 model number, the seller has no idea what he's talking about and/or lying to you. The only versions that have bootloader unlock are:
H850
H830
RS988
H840 SE
Out of the above models, only the h850, h830 and rs988 have root. Only the h830 and h850 have custom ROMs.
Hopefully this helps.
Hi and yes, your post is helping a lot.So I think the seller has no idea about LG5 and telling just what he think is good to sell.I am afraid I have to quit fron his store and find another one, more reliable.
Thanks for your post.

No problem. I don't want to see you buy something thinking you can root / use custom ROMs only later to find out you can't. A lot of sellers think that sim unlocked is same thing as bootloader unlocked because they have no clue, although some just simply lie to sell a phone they don't want too. Either way, best thing to do is research and ask questions first like you did. As far as the bands needed, I'd check Google to see what bands your carrier uses and then check to see if the h850 will work on those bands. Also, be careful when buying an h850 as it must be h850 EU market model (I don't believe they ever added support for carrier specific versions of the h850, bit not 100% sure).
@jeffsga88 H840 SE version has unlock bootloader, correct? Can I root it then if I buy it?

Yes, the 840 SE can be bootloader unlocked through lg although currently can not root or anything yet we there's still no TWRP currently. Once TWRP is built, root can easily be done. Also make sure it's 840 SE (non carrier version) as others with different 840 models weren't able to unlock and some were.
Volte on lg G5 f700
This question may be a bit off topic, but is there a way for me to enable volte on my phone?
I live in India but had a friend get me an lg G5 f700s from korea. I've checked in settings and couldn't find any options to enable volte.
Will it be possible if I switch roms? If so, where can I find a guide? I'm new to xda and don't know much about rooting/ switching rooms.
Thanks in advance! Also let me know if I've left out any details while writing this post.

Install firmware dedicated for you network which supported VoLTE.
So I bought V30S from B&H a few days ago. I flashed this H930-based ROM https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v30/development/rom-boombox-v30-t3765275 without backing up my original one (dumb, I know).
I'm on T-mobile and don't have WiFi calling and Volte settings. Am I correct in assuming that ROM is the culprit? Can somebody help me find the original Oreo ROM that the V30S would come with (don't see it on the LG website)?
Thanks for the help.

Yes, the rom is most likely the issue. Tmobile wifi calling and volte works fine on my v30s stock unrooted rom.
As for returning to the original rom, I haven't seen any kdz for the v30s (the us998 kdz might work since the v30s is us998r, but idk).
It's possible that you'd need to have branded phone for that. I have Samsung S6 on T-Mobile PL and i've got both VoLTE and VoWIFI working.
So..there is a risk that on phone you bough from the store might not work at all. Also make sure that your sim card has activated VOLTE and WIFI Calling.

I thought others have VoLTE and Wi-Fi calling on non-T-mobile branded bootloader unlocked and rooted V30/V30+? Maybe I'm confusing it with Sprint and Verizon.

I know the stock unlocked V30S from b&h supports tmobile wifi calling and volte, but I don't know if unlocking the bootloader and rooting it would make it not work with tmobile wifi calling and volte (I think it should still work since magisk should pass safetynet)
I have since restored to the us998 oreo stock ROM and WiFi calling along with VoLTE are back. For any US998 owners I would suggest to not flash 930h based ROMs.
I just play with my recently upgraded on EE UK contract V30 (not branded EU version), and when I perform factory reset with EE sim card I checked in hidden menu IMS settings and all values was there, so I finish other settings in hidden menu for Volte and Vowifi to get them enabled and nothing happen. I decide to reboot phone to see if that will get settings appear in menu but after reboot all configuration from IMS menu gone.
I did think about and I get my wife phone to play with (she got G6 with EE software and wifi calling works on her phone).
Basically what I found so far there is no any special apps for this, only some settings in few files need to be changed.
Files which need to be changed are : cust.prop, ims_conf.xml, mapcon_conf.xml, vo_config.xml.
I'm happy to play with this but can't do much at the moment as my phone is not rooted so I don't have permission to change these files on my phone.
Does anyone know any "root only" method for latest oreo update on V30?
Hi,
I have an LG V30 plus - H930DS, wich had V20f-SEA-XX on it. In the "secret menu" I had the option for VoLTE and VoWifi, but they did not work. I tryed to use the Indian firmware V20b, but after flashing, the version on my phone was V20b-GLOBAL-COM. In the "secret menu" the VoLTE options was gone. Tryed to unlock the bootloader, but the phone did not pair with adb - god knows why ... Now I'm on a firmware - CIS from lg-firmware, but my phones shows V20f-GLOBAL-COM.
What firmware should I flash so I can have VoLTE - I live in Romania, and my provider is Orange (wich offers VoLTE) ?
Thanks !

Thanks for the information! On Orange site the LG V30 is not supported, but I wanted to give it a try. They support only LG G7, LG Q7, Q6..
Can you suggest an kdz firmware for Europe ? If I flashed another kdz, I will still get update thru FOTA ? Or I must flash all the updates manually - with LGUP ..
Thanks !

You can also try EU H930. It's compatible with all H930DS, and in recent updates has shown VoLTE for India Jio -- so may show VoLTE for other regions too. I don't know, I'm just speculating about other regions beside India (ESA).
Use most recent EU H930 not older. If you want to unlock bootloader in future, you can temporarily downgrade later to do that.
There's also a project by @seadersn somewhere in the Guides section to force VoLTE on LG V30 where the provider doesn't officially support V30. Has worked for some people...
