Hello, I'd like to know if it is possible that all application adapt to the main brightness setting, for example is I go to settings and I put brightness to 30% all application will display at 30% brightness too. Because some applications has their own brightness settings (like internet browser, video player etc...) and it's annoying to set the brightness on all applications every time.
Thanks!
Bump.
From my experience with the galaxy s and the galaxy s3, I'm almost certain that there's no way to set a universal brightness.
Damn
Thanks for your reply!
try InvisiBright apps....
very nice apps

Hi I love this phone but this bug is driving me crazy so this problem still persist I use P10 before and this is also why I hate huawei
then now Im using mate10
I hate this auto dim problem on certain apps even my auto brightness is off specially when playing games I guess it's automatically save battery on its own. The brightness will reduce itself and fps drops on playing games I already remove those power saving on settings even on configuring apps on settings
do you guyz also have this problem? this is also present on opening facebook, chrome, dialer, etc
please help
Hello guys, i just wanna ask you about the dimming issue. i have already turned my auto brigness / adaptive brightness off. however when i open some apps, like PUBG Mobile (gaming) the brigtness is dimming after a few minutes. after i read some articles, i know its a bug from emui itself. is there any solution here. thanks before and sorry for my bad english.
I have same problem with my Honor 9. (I thnik, that it started after Oreo update)
Same issue here (Honor 9), but no soultion
Hi guys, a question: setting the brightness manual, you noticed by chance if entering some Apps like Facebook, Gmail, Chrome etc the same is lowered and then return to the set value when you leave? Thanks to those who will answer.
That is even with the auto brightness ticked-off and smart screen feature also off, the screen will automatically lowered after few seconds I opened the Facebook app, Chrome app for example.
same problem..
This is a serious problem with the software, but a intented one. Really makes me think about whether I keep this phone or not.
This video adresses the problem at minute 3:20.
Also the flickering of the display is a issue for sensitive users. This is the most flickering oled display I've seen so far. Adressed at minute 2:55
I really hope Huawei adresses and fixes this strange programmed behaviour. But I'm afraid they won't, because the Mate 10 Pro and P20 Pro also have this automatic brightness limiting.

Check whether the light sensor is working. The screen brightness may not adjust properly if the light sensor is covered by other objects.
Please adjust the screen brightness if you think the screen is too bright or too dark. Go to Settings and select Display > Brightness.
Please check whether the AUTO switch in the Brightness level menu is enabled. If the AUTO switch is not enabled, the screen brightness may fail to adjust automatically. You can go to Settings > Display > Brightness level to enable the AUTO switch
Dude, this is so off topic. Has nothing to do with the sensor. It is software.
Check the internet for Huawei brightness dimming, screen dimming and power genius. You will find many topics which adress this problem. It is a problem in many Huawei phones. Mate 9, Mate 10 Pro, P10, P20 pro, they all suffer from this same problem which the Mate 20 Pro also happens to have unfortunately...
Is there a solution for this problem, I also have the same issue on my Mate 20 PRO. Is any chance to EMUI 9.1 solve this problem ?
Removing powergenie through adb solves this problem
What is the adb?
