BHIM app shows that my brand new A3 is rooted??
Is this normal. How to know if the device is actually rooted or the problem is with the BHIM app
I am thinking about returning the phone? Please give me suggestions
If you just bought the device and has done nothing like unlocking bootloader or etc then it is the apps problem not the phone but if you do have UBL before then it might have detects that...
Most eBay and gearbest phones come already rooted and pre-installed with malware.
I saw it myself and will never buy phones from chinese vendors again.

hi,
I recently read an article which said that you can root your phone without losing warranty but I think that this is a fake article just to try rooting apps like kingoroot , iroot etc.
I know that once you are rooted you forget warranty and of course service. is it a new kind of trick for rooting or fake?

It's actually both True AND False.
Unless you Unroot your device when returning it when it's still under warranty, they won't offer a refund. However, depending on where you live and what retailer you bought the device from, they offer refunds and exchange even when the device is rooted and/or is bricked. A similar story happend to me when I purchased a cheap $75 Chinese tablet from my local retailer GAME a few years ago. I was Rooting it and installing Custom ROMS until eventually it got bricked. The tablet was still in it's warranty period, so I asked a guy at GAME who worked there if they offer a refund EVEN if the tablet is in a Bootloop, and they were happy enough to offer me a $75 refund.
So it really depends on how generous people are at the retailer you bought it from. I would say around 50-60% Retailers still offer exchange or a refund even if the device is Rooted.
I hope that this answer was useful. Be sure to click that thanks button if it did help you! Cheers
I bought mine from Samsung.com and noticed that it says "Unlocked by Samsung" on the box. I don't know if that means the device isn't actually a Tmobile unit though. Anyways, Samsung Pay doesn't work for me. When I install it from Okay I Store, it says this device isn't compatible. When I install it from the Galaxy App store, it tells me a new update is available and the new features are "Brand new UX" and when I press OK, it just closes the app. Is it just because the phone isn't officially released yet or is it a software issue? Thanks.
If it says unlocked by Samsung you do not have the TMobile version.

Mine is SMG965U1ZKAX. I ordered a T-Mobile Midnight Black S9+ From Samsung.com. Everything about it seems like it's an unlocked model. I don't even get the T-Mobile splash screen when I reboot the phone. If it really is the unlocked version, I'm guessing that model hasn't been updated to support Samsung Pay yet. I'm not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing that I got the unlocked version instead of the T-Mobile version.
I went back to my order receipt/emails and checked to make sure I even ordered the T-Mobile model. Turns out, it's the Unlocked model. I know for a fact I chose the T-Mobile option but I guess not. Was the Unlocked S8+ compatible with Samsung Pay?
If you do not have a T-Mobile folder with T-Mobile apps on your phone, it means is not from T-Mobile.

I'm having the EXACT SAME ISSUE, but I'm on the unlocked U.S. version direct from Samsung on AT&T. It's been driving me crazy. Made the rounds on both AT&T's and Samsung's customer service phone lines and online chats. No help.
Any solution?

Mine is SM-G965UZKAXAA.
Turns out I do ha e the unlocked model. Haven't found a solution for samsung pay yet, though.
You guys probably have to wait for actually launch date I'm pretty sure this happened with the note 7... They don't push all updates unfortunately until launch dates for some services. So I'm sure within the next 3 days it'll be updated to support the unlocked variants

What doesn't work? My app launches and it allows me to sign in and add a card. I have not tried to use it as of yet. My phone is unlocked Coral Blue and has a Verizon SIM in it. I got the phone at 1030 and turned it on. About an 1 hour ago a update came. I didn't add Samsung Pay until after the update.
I got my unlocked from Samsung S9+ delivered today (3/14). With a Verizon SIM I was able to add a card to Samsung Pay and use it successfully at Best Buy.

Here's a link to a screen shot I took of the issue. It says Not compatible. It only shows this if I download from the Play Store.

I get this when I install from Galaxy Apps. When I press the OK or Cancel button, the Samsung pay just force closes. There's no updates for Samsung Pay in the Galaxy App store or the Play Store either.

I did get a software update this morning which I installed, but Samsung Pay still gives me the same errors. I called Samsung Pay Support a few hours ago and the guy basically said it's a known issue with the S9 and S9+ and that there should be an update pushed out "Soon" that'll fix it. Other than a factory reset, I think my only option is to wait. I'd rather not reset my phone unless I absolutely have to because I hate getting things set up again, lol.
Edit: I should probably add, I can't even set up Samsung Pay. I get those error messages any time I try to launch the app.
There's an update in the Galaxy App store and it's working for me now. Another user on reddit let me know about it.

Depends on what you consider a right rom!
Installing play-store is easy. But for installing custom roms you shall have to unlock bootloader, for which there is a wait period.
The benefit of buying from China is that you could get it from an authorized seller. But if you unlock bootloader anyways, you lose warranty, so no extra benefit.

I live in China and I've bought mine here. Firstly was thinking about unlocking bootloader and changing rom ASAP but then I've realized there's no need. The Chinese MIUI is stable and I've installed Google services without any problem. So go for it
I bought a chines MIpad 4 LTE and I use it in the UK, installing Google Play is rather easy, although Google Calendar has some problem syncing right now. The main problem is getting the LTE to work, it seems like the device is somehow locked and does not get on mobile data, not for me -at least- after several attempts and having read pretty everything that is out there about the subject.
Hey guys and girls.
Does anyone have experience with Funkyhuawei with a phone that Huawei didn't give the bootloader unlock code to?
Preferably a Mate 20 Pro of course.
I'm thinking about giving it a try but I would obviously have no TWRP and no Magisk.

I got my phone from funkyhuawei, 8gb 256 gig model. They say they cant provide the boot loader unlock code as it is locked from Huawei. At this moment in time it is not possible to unlock it.
I used FunkyHuawei for updates for my P20 Pro with a locked bootloader since OTA updates never seemed to arrive and the service works well. Since they only have build 122 currently for the International Mate 20 Pro which I am already on I haven't tried it with the Mate 20 Pro yet.
Bootloader unlocking codes and rebranding aren't going to be offered for this phone and the rooted Mate 20 Pro phones they were selling apparently lose root the first time you update the OS so that was a complete waste of money.
I'm happy with the update part of their service but they don't respond to emails--ever. The best way to get FunkyHuawei updates is via Twitter.
I ordered an accessories bundle from them for the Mate 20 Pro but haven't received anything so far including anything to indicate that my order was ever received, processed or shipped (it's been a week) so the jury is still out on their store. The order was paid for with PayPal so I know they did get my money.
It seems like FunkyHuawei might be a one man operation.
I didn't know that they do sell physical products like a pre rooted device.
However, I did get a very minimalistic reply to my support request.
Since I don't know the service and the price of the root service for one phone is quite high, I don't want to risk spending money for nothing.
I bought my Mi Pad 4 recently from an aliexpress seller, came with some version of the MIUI EU global ROM with bootloader already unlocked.
My question is: how can I attach this device to my own Xiaomi account in case I (read:accidentally) lock my bootloader and needs unlocking once again?
I know this is an old thread but I'm curious to know if you've made a progress. I also got my Mi Pad 4 recently and came across with horror stories about accidental locking on MiFlash. My current understanding is that you need a SIM (with a phone number) on your device to link it with your Mi account. But this is not possible for non LTE devices.... Actually mine is the LTE version and I've just got a new SIM, so it should be fine for now. But I am still curious to know what you're meant to do to start the countdown timer if your device doesn't take a SIM. Can you link another device with a SIM (perhaps your normal mobile phone?)? Or does xiaomi not give a t*** about tablets (of their own)?

If I am not wrong, if device is unlocked , it is connected to an account used to unlocking. If you will want repeat this process, the software will refuse connecting device to new account.
Maybe sim card is a workaround ?
Never buy new device unlocked. The used one no problem, previous owner will help you.

Have a Google on it. It seems there may be workarounds or possible reset by emailing xiaomi.
