alternatives to titanium backup? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
it looks as if Titanium Backup is not supported anymore - or at least there is no way to request support, since their support forms stopped working and a mail to their email address listed on the playstore only gets you a canned reply pointing at the ... support forms.
So, what alternatives to TB are there? What i'd need is a full backup, full restore, and it should be able to sync backups into google drive or even better nextcloud.
Any suggestions?
Cheers

Titanium backup - messages and People not working..

Hi Folks
I used Titanium backup to backup my apps and stuff but it can never restore my contacts or any text messages. Even though it says that it has restored the data.
I cna restore games and other stuff no probs but the 2 most important things in a phone cannot be restored.
Anyone got any tips on how to get it to work?
Cheers
Kenny
I dont think Titanium backs up contacts or texts. Use sms backup and restore from the market to backup your texts. As for contacts, sync them to your gmail account and they will automatically be downloaded if the google servers see they are missing, like when you install a new rom for example
That, or use the Contacts Import / Export option from within the Contacts/People App. Works flawlessly everytime.
Thanks for the info folks!

Personally I use Google for email/calendar/contacts so there is always a backup.
That said I also bought My Backup Pro which is superb and not that expensive.
Kies
Titanium Pro
Google

You can also try the MyBackup app..
Will try MyBackup. Thanks.
GoContacts is a free app and allows export/import/backup of contacts.. it's pretty decent. Although Titanium Backup can do it all

try my backup root from play store
Get to grips with TitaniumBackup, essential app for rooting and flashing custom roms. It'll backup and restore all your messages, wifi data, call logs (a bit temperamental though with call logs) and bookmarks etc. Very quick aswel.
I'd recommend syncing contact and calendar information with your Google account though and not restoring those with backups.
Also consider mybackup pro, for backing up SMS and logs.

I am now also using Titanium Backup Pro it is amazing and recover all user apps or even system data ... I wonder if there is any option to delete backuped system data and leave only apps ...
I use mybackup pro and it backs up everything, apks, data, texts, pictures, everything.
It's a thing of beauty.

[Q] hiw to backup wifi and browser passwords using tb

as the title says, i want to backup these using tb (or any other method for that matter, but if find tb convenient).
i see two entries for 'wifi access points' in tb; one colored green and one colored yellow. which one should i backup to save my wifi password settings?
what about browser passwords? i know third party browsers like dolphin and chrome have this option, but i like using the stock browser. is there a way to do this via tb or any other app for that matter?
about WIFI password they're automatically saved as long as you have ticked backup my google account.
as for the browser i'm not sure but if you use TB to backup app+data it should backup passwords as well.

but doesnt google account backup everything including apps? it would take forever to back up everything i have thats why i dont use it.
with regards to the browser, i would not rather backup the internet app+data as newer custom roms have updated versions of browser. it would be best if it just backed up the passwords.
as soon as you login to your google account you can go to the play store and press "stop 70\XX" and it won't restore your apps.
that's what i personally do, stop all the downloads, and manually download TB+TB pro as i purchased it and restore from that.
i haven't notice any changes to browser in the last builds but you can always backup only data and not app if it concerns you.

Question Restore SMS and call history without resetting to get setup wizard

I'm migrating from a Galaxy Note 9 to Pixel 6. When I initially set up the Pixel I forgot to restore SMS and call history from my Google backup taken on the Note 9. Is there any way I can restore this data, or even copy the data over? I've tried Samsung Smart Switch which didn't want to do anything.
I don't want to reset the Pixel to get the setup wizard again as I spent hours installing and configuring apps.
TIA!
SMS Backup and Restore from the play store. Back ups SMS, Call History. Everything. Easy to use as well.

be aware that if you where using RCS messaging (advanced chat features in Google Messages) its probably that the backup/restore won't work with this app.

I use RCS and haven't noticed any issues.
I utilize RCS as well, SMS Backup and Restore works fine without interference.
Amazing thing is I back it up to Google Drive and set a reoccurring schedule.
Hands down, recommend it everywhere.
