Does any AOSP Marshmallow rom supports VoLTE ?
I'm to interested in knowing thks, Just got the phone and want to use cm/aosp but Volte should work on it
Sent from my Redmi Note 3 using Tapatalk
I think it doesn't work on any non 5.1MIUI ROM, even the 6.0 miui doesn't have VoLTE. But I read somewhere that flashing the modem of 5.1 miui on aosp roms brings back volte. can anyone confirm?

No VoLTE for now. Xiaomi must release proper sources for marshmallow, which is not gonna happen soon, because even they have trouble figuring out a way to make it work in Marshmallow version of MIUI

Hello prabin__,
Thank you for your response. I tried lineageOS, it was very slow and i can exploit it.
So i returned to the official ROM.
My problem with this ROM (EMUI 4.1.3) is that it closes background applications even if i make them protected.
I want to have a performant rom working with simple sim (not LTE) that does not close the background apps.
or an upgrade to EMUI 5 (I heared that it does not have this issue)
Any suggsestion is welcome.
Thank you.

I too am willing to install the Paranoid ROM because it's stable. (https://forum.xda-developers.com/p8lite/development/rom-t3649258)
But it says that in order to install the ROM the phone has to be updated to EMUI 4.1 B895/B896 and the TWRP version must be 3.1.1 . And that's probably related to the p8 lite and since I too have got a y6ii and my current update is, EMUI 4.1.3 CAM-L21C636B190,
I'm a bit confused, should I too have to update my y6ii to the aforementioned EMUI version?
I also currently have TWRP 3.0.1 installed on my phone and I guess I need to remove it and install TWRP 3.1.1 right?
Can you advice me on this. Thanks!.

And amm the TWRP? I currently have 3.0.1 installed. The developer says it's a must to have 3.1.1 installed. So I guess I need to install TWRP 3.1.1 right?

Flashing 9.0 Pie ROMs on Xiaomi mi 8 Lite results in sound not working on device. Which means no games, no YouTube, no functionality
However flashing the 8.1 Oreo ROMs are fine
I'm guessing this is a simple issue I'm encountering. Can anybody help enlighten me to where I am going wrong or what the issue is?
I'm using twrp and roms from this xda mi 8 lite forum if it is of any relevance
Thank you
SOLVED
I Installed the MIUI BETA build on 9.0 Pie, updated MIUI fully, then reflashed TWRP and installed a 9.0 Custom ROM
and I have working sound. :good:

Good to know. I just got my phone this past Monday and am awaiting the bootloader unlock. I did see that some of the custom ROMs did mention, you must come from a Pie OS before flashing. Guess now I know why. Thanks!

whats the procedure i have unlocked bootloader
was able to flash Android 12 Gsi successfully.. But couldn't Boot system.
Only gsi arm64 Android 12 worked though.
You can check any instructions on Google because Gsi has one way for all devices. but it's on your own risk.
Sorry for being off topic but what's the difference between the custom roms made specifcally for the device and the gsi roms?

1> Custom ROMs are more Optimized for the devices they are published for. Also, they usually have more features and upgradations while GSI (Generic system Image) is better than plain simple vanilla AOSP (Android Open Source Project) in most cases and are supposed to have a higher chance of adapting for installation on any supportive (ARM architechture etc.) device.
2> Custom ROMs are usually larger in size (1Gb/2gb etc. ) while GSIs are usually smaller in size
( 500Mb/700Mb etc.)

OctaviOS GSI (GSI Arm64-ab) booted on my Redmi note 10 but Lineage 18.1 is way better as per my opinion, you have to flash Gapps though.
P.S.- I'm still waiting for some more vanilla ROMs OR GSIs to be made for this device butfrom what I know the developer communities seem to be more in favor of making Rom/Gsi (OR Ports) for the PRO versions of Redmi Note series directly, so some of the lower devices not getting enough attention.
