Battery life on Pixel Experience - Xiaomi Poco F1 Questions & Answers

Are you getting ~8h SOT? I've tried to install it inumerous times but couldn't achieve it. Can you help me?? Thanks in advance
P.S- I can do this SOT on MIUI and Nitrogen OS f.e...

I am on Havoc2.8 / optimus Drunk kernel and I get almost 7hours SOT but then on 4g it reduces. you could try and see what apps are draing battery

SOT can only give you indication of battery life. Track you end of day battery percentage over few days time frame, that will give you more realistic real world usage of battery life. And help you to determine if ROM or any app is consuming more battery than usual.

OnePlus 2 amazing SOT!!!! (AK kernel)

Hello guys
Just wanted to share with you my experience with the OnePlus 2 concerning the SOT.
When I first got the phone (ordered from Gearbest), it had Hydrogen OS, it was a bit laggy and crappy battery life. I was scared as I thought that my device was faulty since it's ordered from china. I flashed Oxygen OS 2.1 through TWRP after full wipe, had only root and using Greenify, it got a bit better, but still, it wasn't perfect, there was some lag here and there (wasn't able to go beyond 52k in Antutu), and I would reach 3h30 SOT at best with heavy usage (my daily usage usually contains some gaming, listening to music, lots of browsing and facebook/messenger, whatsapp, youtube.. etc).
Until someone in the OnePlus forums suggested that I install AK kernel, so I did, and boy am I amazed. Performance suddenly become way better (62k in Antutu), and the most important thing, is the SOT results I'm getting now. Battery drained 40% while I got 3 hours of SOT as you can see in the provided screenshot. I played Asphalt for a bit, did some browsing and youtube and facebook, took some photos, used 4G for about an hour of this time, with GPS on battery saving, sync off, and 40% brightness. Android system and Android OS seem to drain a lot of battery though, would probably get better results if this gets fixed.
Seriously I'm so ****in' satisfied! Kudos to the developers of AK kernel, kudos to OnePlus for making such an amazing device at such a price (pretty sure you can't get these SOT results on the most expensive devices like Samsung or LG).
This proves that the device itself is a beast, it just needs the perfect software/kernel for it and nothing can stop it.
I hope that OnePlus team releases a more stable OOS version, with more features, probably with Android 6.0 as soon as possible? who knows
Share with us your overall experience with your OnePlus 2.
Cheers.
Still on the same cycle.
PS: forgot to mention that the phone's temperature became waaaay better after flashing AK kernel. The phone barely gets a bit warm and that happens when I'm gaming for a long duration or using 4G. It stays pretty cool on WIFI, with tons of apps running all at the same time (thanks to 4GB of RAM).
Glad to hear it. I will root it asap and test some kernels. Hope I have same experience
I have found great improvements using this kernel. i found playing a tower defense game for an hour took 20% battery. However battwry stats not accurate - restarting phone can see a drop of 10%.
First 3 charge cycles where 0% to 100%, and after 2% to 100%. Have never reset battery stats tho since 3 clean rom/kernel flashes

What tower defense game... My OPT drains so much battery with Kingdom rush origins and frontiers. I guess I could play it for 3 hours straight with one charge though...
sent from my OPT
With latest AK v.013, I am getting a battery life of almost 28 Hours with SOT around 5 Hrs. I don't use data and WiFi in on 95% of the time. Usage includes some music, Clash of Clans, Whatsapp, Mail, Twitter and other few apps. Kudos to AK for this amazing performing kernel.

3 hours of straight gaming is awesome!
Sorry to say that, but it's nothing special. Battery life depends most of the apps you are using. I've got similar scores on stock kernel. Look at the screenshot. From 90% it's 5h sot with 18% left. So kernel thing=control. But battery life=common sense ?
I have the same usage on stock kernel as AK kernel, using the same apps, yet the battery stats are way different. How can you explain that?
Mod Edit
There is a thread here on same topic hence use the same for all such discussions.

Battery Optimisation

I don't know why but the android system is always high instead of the screen. And I see people getting 12hrs of Screen on time where I am only getting hardly 7hours. :/ I tried many roms, but all seems to have the same problem :3
The battery life is usage dependent, as well as statistics. You need to figure out what is causing the battery drain in your case. Check what functions of Android System are using the battery and check what apps are using those functions.
7hrs sot is normal.

From what battery level to what battery level you analysed to have 7hrs sot..?
I am on stock miui 9 and i get 6hrs sot at 50% battery left. And 9:30hrs sot at 20% battery left.
I don't go beyond this battery level, prefer to charge back to 100%. I had similar result on stock Miui 8.5.
try flash AOSP-CAF bro with its default kernel,, i got >24hrs of total battery use and >9hrs SOT,, plus this ROM is smoother than Miui9.. Thanks me later
if you use your phone for 2 or 3 days, 7 hours is normal buddy... becasuse the standby consumes battery too...
if you use it non-stop, you will get 12hours of SoT...

What can it be causing a battery drain?

Well, I installed Kernel Manager for Franco Kernel with Naptime and Servicely as partners and since then...well I can't complaint. With a heavy usage I reached more than 4 hours of SoT in a day an hours, and with a moderate usage up of 4 hours and a half with almost two days of battery life. Very sweet indeed, but I think I could actually improve that because Kernel Manager is telling me that I have a superior 5 per cent of usage of active battery, but I can't find the cause of the drain with BetterBatteryStats
Here are some screenshots...
help please?

Battery Drainage

after update of MIUI 9.6.18 is battery draining faster or I am only feeling this thing?
Yes, I feel the same. I'm barely getting just around 5 hours SOT on normal usage without gaming.
I don't think its true in my case, just today i drained it to 5% and sot was 7.5 hrs which included pubg 2 hrs, world of tanks 30mins, utube 1.5 hrs and other normal usage like twitter, little skype about 45 mins. sorry i don't hav the screenshot to show
I get 8hrs of sot.. I tried every thing to get drain faster but it doesn't drain..

Terrible battery life - 4-5hrs Screen on time
I am getting a terrible battery life with normal usage with just 4-5hrs screen on time. Also tried factory reset.
I notice andriod and andriod systems are taking most of the juice so i think its some internal software issue and not my usage or mu apps.
Switch off the location

Poco X2 Estimated Battery Capacity by Accubattery

So i regularly use AccuBattery app in my android device. It's a very useful one.
So i installed this on my new Poco X2. Those who've used it know that it can estimate your current battery capacity based on charge sessions and some other stuff.
And upon using it showed my Poco X2's estimated battery at around only 3800mah.
And a lot of users also are complaining about battery backup on flipkart.
Please check and post your device's estimated battery capacity via AccuBattery app.
Unfortunately, what Flipkart reviews say is actually right, this phone has serious SOT problems with 120 hz i only get 6.5 hours sot and 8 hours with 60hz and I don't even use it heavily just YouTube and small games with social media. This phone has very poor optimization. I know i shouldn't compare but if you look at realme 6 pro almost same specs but with smaller battery (4300) gives 1 hour more SOT even with heavy usage(both set to 60hz). This is absolutely disappointing, eagerly waiting for custom roms and custom kernels to make it as my daily driver. Will update you on the accubattery results

Thankyou, waiting for it.
Bafore this I was using standard China Rom with mine and battery was a mess. But I unlocked & flash MIUI.eu. I add-on "naptime" to help with Doze & using Universal GMS Doze magisk module. Managed to get almost 8hrs SOT with ads removed, bloatware removed & MSA removed. Maybe you should give it a try and see ?
Same
Battery is fine for me
Don't know how people here getting more than 3.8k mah estimated. Mine doesn't go above that. I'm pretty sure some units have battery problem as reported by few buyers on Flipkart. Some said battery is excellent while some said poor battery. I think poco x2 indian units are suffering more. Since after watching some tests on the redmi k30 Chinese variant by YouTubers they got significanly more SOT. I tweeted to them, no reply from their side yet ?
I got my K30 directly from China. No battery issues whatsoever.
I've been getting consistent SOT of 9.5 hrs on average with heavy use. SOT range for me has been 7 hrs (120Hz) - 11 hrs (60 Hz) on 4G LTE (you can check my post on SOT thread).
Being a heavy user, this battery life has literally blown me away and I absolutely love this phone simply for that. I can easily get thru a very heavy day with 30-40% battery left. I've been charging the phone twice every three days on average.
I'm on stock CN ROM (MIUI 11.0.13 Stable)
I easily get 8 hours + SOT with gaming. I play cod and pubg extensively.
Battery life update after using a month .
Mild gaming and social media usage.
Average sot is around 10hrs , battery lasts 30-50hrs depending on camera usage.
Unable to upload screen shot showing bad request.
Is AccuBattery reliably on first cycles? If many users have 3800 mah insted of 4500mah then something stinks here
My poco X2 shows 4398mah
I am on stock Indian rom miui 11.0.10
I did some quick research across the web and it looks like there are three types of d
1. Battery Drain issue devices, they have bad battery issues, battery capacity way below 4500 and widely varying with users. Screen off discharge is way off charts, like >5%/hr. SoTs varying around 5hrs or <5hrs
2. Inefficient battery devices. (Majority) They have battery capacity much below the specification, however less varying, always around 3800mAh. Battery doesn't drain that badly
I have this device, heavy usage like pubg clocks around 15-20%/hr, normal usage around 10%hr and screen off discharge rate at 0.5-0.9%/hr. Hardly discharges 2-3 percent through the night
3. Ok devices. These are the best sets. Battery capacity constantly goes above 4000mAh (still doesn't hit the required 4500 mark tho). No serious battery drain issues. (I don't know much about these devices because they don't look into the web coz they have no issues.
My specs:

Usually i get around 9hrs 30 min sot on 60hz and around 8hrs on 120hz...( Without gaming ) after the update of miui 11.0.11 my phones battery backup gradually increased 1 hr on 120hz...+ I did some tweaks blocking system apps from running in the background
After using the phone for 8 months, I noticed that charging speeds have significantly reduced. At the beginning, the battery went from 0-100% in ~70-75 mins if I remember correctly (cross checked this with another review website).
But when I properly checked today (after a long time), it took 118 mins (2 hrs!) for the battery to go from 2-100%. I also plan to check this with the screen/phone off again.
The battery life is still great though, maybe slightly reduced compared to the beginning.

Maybe you charging cable could be the cause of this

Original charger used and the cable is in perfect condition.
Re-tested today with the phone switched off and it went from 4-100% in 70 mins! So all is good. Planning to test tomorrow again with the phone switched on.
Battery life is still stellar. 8.5 hrs of SOT for 26 hrs of usage on 120Hz; 70% WiFi and 30% LTE.
