it's been years since the last time i touch my Redmi 3, i forgot the password, so i just factory reset it with my twrp.
but i need to login with old email to verify my phone, i forgot which email, because i tried every email that i can remember i ever login into this phone but got denied.
i tried to full wipe and replace rom, but it's still the same prompt that pop up, Insert email to verify the phone. is there anyway to bypass this?
as far as i know, this feature is for miui Roms. flash a custom Rom and you never see this alarm again.

So my daughter got a hold of my phone. "I think" she tried entering the password too many times. Now phone just displays:
Just my Background Picture and this message below.
"To unlock, enter recovery password"
______________________________
Under this message is a Emergency Call button.
I tried my phone password, google password, and Outlook password. All not working. After entering my password, and it is incorrect I get this message:
"You have incorrectly attempted to unlock the phone 1 times. The phone will now be reset to factory default" OK button. (DONT CLICK OK, Just restart phone by holding down power button)
I then just power off and restart. After restart -> Samsung logo -> Verizon logo, it goes back to the "To unlock, enter the recovery password" screen.
Don't want to go to factory default, Any help or suggestions???
Verizon Samsung S3
Verizon just pushed out the KitKat update to my phone last month.
NOT rooted, just stock Verizon ROM.
I can call this cell. I still works. But can't get to regular unlock screen. Always just goes to this Recovery password screen.
Do a hard reset.. no another way
Really... Is there no Default "recovery password". I don't remember setting one up. Any Google work around? I tried searching online, and I don't see anything about this "Recovery Password"... Is this new or do people just not get to this screen?
Well, if there is any Odin-flashable recovery for your phone, you can flash it and then pull important data using ADB. You can also take a Nandroid backup and then use Nandroid Manager to see if you can recover any more data from the ROM.
This will void your warranty.
Bingo... So if anyone is still having this issue, you DON'T have to do a factory reset. I finally solved it (at least it worked for me). Here's how I did it. You need a Google account setup already for this phone. Go to: wwwgooglecom/android/devicemanager (add dots, come on xda, I'm not a newbie -> join in 2009) I tried to Locate and I tried to Ring, they both worked, but you need to do this -> Click the LOCK icon. Then it will try to find your phone. If it does find it, it will ask for a NEW password to "LOCK" your phone. After entering your password, your phone will "LOCK" itself. (Even though it has been locked out already) Once that is done, I went back to my phone and try entering this "new" password I setup in the: recovery password location. It works. Good luck...
Not sure how to mark this Thread as Solved...
Bloody Legend!!
You wanted to say thanks mate.
My S5 has presented me with this screen twice, in the past week! The first time it wiped my phone (and SD card).
Happy New Year!!!
J.
Going to wwwgooglecom/android/devicemanager doesn't work anymore. Now when you try that process, you will get a pop-up saying that the device is already locked and the new password you put in will not be used. You are still required to put in the old Recovery Password. I have wiped the phone and tried to find where one would put in a recovery password and cannot find it.
I contacted Samsung and they told me to use their system. Go to findmymobile(dot)samsung(dot)com and log in (assuming you registered). I logged in, went through the process to unlock my phone. I could see the notification that the unlock was successful, but the lock is still in effect. Samsung support said I would have no other option than to wipe the phone again. I asked how I could get support for the Android lock that was in effect, and they referred me to support(dot)google(dot)com. If you go there, and work your way through the menu, you find that the manufacturer of the phone is supposed to handle Android OS support.
So Samsung has added a proprietary remote unlocking feature, but somehow forgotten to disable the built-in one. Since they have that extra "feature" they won't support the default one.
Hi. It's little long but important info..
I was a problem twice with the password on lock screen.
I have the device 6 months in approx.
One week after purchase I was make reboot to device. And when it's came to login screen and I used my password I get message of incorrect password. And it's was the password (doesn't change..). No one can help me. The store wanted make a full wipe in lab and it's need some days. Finally I used Google account. And used the lost device and remove data. The device make reboot. And want password of mi account. Insert it and it's was OK.
I was remembered to correct password. But anyway decided change method to the points on screen and make something easy. And write it on note in safe place. Before some weeks it's happened again. After reboot I got message. Incorrect password.. Thus time I was data on device. And not all have backup. So I was try more.. Local stores. Net. Accounts (Google and MI) and nothing.
I was retried some times the password and same message. Wrong. And I was checked it in note. Same password.
After some passwords the device locks for 30 minutes. I was try to escape from this and try reboot again. Doesn't help. After talks with some people's. It's looks lost. So I left it.
When the 30 minutes end. I think.. Try again. And it's work!! With same password. After that I was retry lock and open again. And reboot. And all is OK..
So I am askwhat happened?! Have option that the device 'forget' his password? Now I am without password to make sure with it. But I want password. Normal password..
It's happen for someone or known problem?
The rom is global and stable. Add picture
Nothing?
Was new update today. But in details have nothing about this
I lost my redmi 6 pro account password please help
Hi
I bought Redmi Note 3 for my wife 3 days ago, used.
On the phone was LOS 14, but some things like phone calls were not working as it should (the phone call screen would not show up at all), so I decided to flash MIUI.
After reading XDA and internet, I managed to do so, I flashed V9.6.2.0 MHOMIFD, and after booting first time MIUI
I get activation screen.
Mi account was 165***793, and the associated phone number was from the guy who I bought the phone, so I think, I'll just ask him the password, and thats it.
He said, the phone number is correct, but Mi account is not his, his starts with 169***xxx.
He said thats why his friend flashed LOS on the phone, because of this problem.
When I try to reset password i type his phone number, he gets the code, and forward to me, I typed it, and then I reset password.
Try that password on the phone, not working, said wrong username or password.
When I log on miui website with his account, his ID is different then the one on the phone, but his phone number is correct on the phone because it is associated with that ID, but don't have access to that ID.
Is there any way to use this phone normally on MIUI, or how can I get pass this screen, or reset that password, becouse I know that phone number, but MIUI account is different than the one that is tied to that phone number. I would like if there is any 'official' way of geting that password, I am tired of flashing, fastbooting.
I hope you get what I want to say, sorry for my English.

U cant officially unlock coz its already associated with number.
Fasboot flash latest beta miui 10 rom. Unlock unofficially and flash custom oreo or pie rom.
Staying on stock rom will always ask for valid mi acount.
So better unlock unofficiallly on latest miui10 rom.
And use custom rom.
Thank you. I unlock it like this https://in.c.mi.com/thread-857678-1-0.html
Problem is solved.

Hello guys, this is my first post so please forgive me if I'm gonna ask a dumb question.
My situation is I switched from OTA beta ROM to the MIUI 10 stable ROM after it resets my phone the first screen that pops up was "This device is locked" / "This device is associated with an existing MI Account. For security reasons, you need to enter the password to verify the device".
Heres what I did.
1. I open the wifi settings to sign in to my wifi connection
2. I click to the "Activate this device" button. Then it put me where I should put the password. Note: there's no tab or box for the username or MI Account ID.
3. I entered the password of my MI Account. Note: I save it on my computers sticky note so I'm sure I entered the right one.
After those 3 steps, the system says "Couldn't verify MI account ID. Invalid username or password.". So at first I was puzzled so tried to do it 3 times and I turned off the hide password function to make sure that im entering the right password. But after many times of trying, I still can't log in. Then I tried going to "Forget Password".
Heres what happened.
1. It asks me the email address that I used for my MI Account.
2. After I submitted it, it says that they will send an Account Verification Code to my email. Note: I did change the password for my MI Account before this incident so I'm sure that I'm using the same email address on my MI Account.
3. Then I went to my email account but I didn't receive any email after checking everything i.e "Spam and etc.".
4. I thought I did a mistake so I tried it again(Sending the verification code to my Email) but I still received nothing to the point that I've used all my attempts and I can't do it again for 24hrs.
So I tried to log in my MI Account on my desktop because I always save the passwords on the browser to check if I can log in or I cant. So when after trying it says the same thing that the password is incorrect. So I went on my browsers setting and went to "Password" and there I found the saved "Password for my MI Account". So when I turned off the hide password function it shows me that the password I entered on my phone is the same password saved on my computer's browser for my MI Account. So I tried to click the password on my computer's browser hoping that it will direct me to my mi account webpage, But after clicking it, it sends me to an empty page with this "{"result":"error","reason":"expires_in参数不能为空","code":10016,"description":"缺失必选参数"}" .
I really don't know what to do. I tried doing the hard reset option. I wiped my data and then Reboot my device. But even after doing all that it always sends to the "This device is locked".
Im really out of ideas this is my only phone so I was really a bit frustrated and stressed out for not being able to use it. So id like to ask for your guy's help. I hope you can help me with my problem. Even if not I still want to thank you all for spending time to read my post.
I'm having the same problem, did you get a solution?
And I'm having the same problem with my brand new Redmi Note 8 Pro. I think I've changed my password almost 10 times but still, the problem persists.
After setting a super easy passwrod like "J12345678" my problem solved! xiomi really sucks!
Pocophone F1
security set to fingerprint and alphanumeric password.
every 3 days the fingerprint stops working and asks for password as a default security feature.
Last night it asked for password as its been 3 days since last used password. I am certain the password is correct and signed in several times before with it. I suspect there might have been a system update in the last 3 days. Now it keeps saying password is incorrect.
Forgot password option only allows erasing data and back to factory default.
Any help would be much appreciated.

if you have TWRP or any other encryption supporting custom recovery, reboot to recovery and then check what it asks for.
called xiaomi uk
I didn't root the phone or have custom recovery installed unfortunately.
called xiaomi uk customer support, they were saying the phone should give the option to reset the password via the google account but it isn't giving this option.
the phone is definitely connected to my google account. can see it there and was able to locate it and ring it from the computer browser.

Did you associate your phone to mi account? She this happen to my girlfriend's phone and saw a bunch of cases while looking for a solution. Couldn't find a way around factory resetting.
I ended up doing the factory reset. I am sure it's a Xiaomi software issue because when I was initiating the phone again, when you set up fingerprint it gives this message:
"Remember your lock screen password. If you forget it, you'll have to erase all data on your device, including photos and contacts, and then set a new one"
This is exactly what I ended up doing other than the fact that it wouldn't accept the correct password. There is ways around it if you rooted your phone before this happened but in my case there was no quick solution.
Xiaomi should allow the password reset via Google account like other android phones.
Lucky I did have some backup via Google so wasn't a total disaster.
this is really bad. Im in this situation and i don want to erase my files as i didnt back up or used cloud. since yesterday looking for work around this screen lock issue, im using pocophone f1.
