Samsung Notes Handwriting to Text - Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Questions & Answers

I love the new feature although when it converts your writing to text it makes the text large like a childrens book, is there any way to change this as it makes it unuseable.
If you type in Samsung notes the text is small and a normal note taking app. then you change to S-Pen and write a note and convert it to text and you can't even make it as small as the text size from when you use the keyboard. Seems like an awesome feature not very well executed.
Anyone have a different experience

I haven't figured out a way to change the default font size of 20 but after I convert the handwriting to text I can tap on the first word, then select all. Once all is highlighted then I have a font size option. Certainly not ideal! Just got this Tab6 so still looking for answers.

[Q] Text in IE Way Too Large!

I have the TMOUSA Leo, but I assume the IE is the same in both versions.
Whenever I open a web page in that pocket IE, the text is GIANT, so very little fits on a page. I have to use the zoom bar to reduce the text size so I can read more.
I looked under View, Text Size, and set it to smallest. Didn't make a bit of difference, a page always opens with the same giant text size.
How can I fix this problem? A registry tweak?
(Note--I don't really want smallest, just a normal size. I just set to smallest to try to counter the giant text, but it didn't change it at all.)

I do have Uzard installed, and Skyfire, and three versions of Opera, but that is all absolutely besides the point.
Your reply had absolutely nothing to do with my question (are you promoting that product?), which is quite rude.

[Q] making font bigger in sms typing box

hi, first time android phone user was just wondering if this phone has the ability to change the font size for the txt being writen in the sms box (above the keyboard) my eysight is not too good and need reading glasses when im writing sms, but if the fonts are bigger i dont need to put them on as i dont carry the glasses with me when im out.
i have found a way to make the sent and recieved sms's bigger by using go sms app but that does not make the text bigger until the txt has been sent. (well not that i know of)
my gf iphone a old 3g one does that in settings where u can pick a font and make them heaps big or small and it would change the size of all including while you where typing it.
i got this phone thinking this would do it coming from a old samsung omnia wm6.1 where the writing box was tiny and useless.
Use Chomp sms. typing box follows sent message text size.

hi thanks tried that, but couldnt find a way to change the size of the font in the typing box, it changes the font size of out going and in going txt once its gone like the other sms apps but not the txt size as im typing on the keyboard
On my Galaxy S, I used FONTSIZE, fonts that is increased in the entire Galaxy. Very good, but you must have a Root.

[Q] Ideas for Improvements to HTC Notes

Although I do appreciate the functionality already in HTC Notes, I have been spoiled by Microsoft OneNote for many years.
Below are some of the features available in OneNote that I would like to see in HTC Notes version 2.0.
• Ability to expand the space between handwritten notes to add more handwritten notes.
• Ability to create color-coded tabs to notebooks. (sub notebooks)
• Ability to select handwritten notes to cut, copy, and paste.
• OCR for searching directly within HTC Notes. (aside from EverNote)
• The ability to add standard shapes to notes (circle, oval, rectangle, triangle, arrows, and stars)
• Different note page templates (to do list, meeting agenda, calendar and legal pad)
• Ability to snip pictures from other applications and paste them into notes.
• Ability to add active hyperlinks
• Put the pen options in a smaller horizontal toolbar. (The semi-circle takes up a lot of screen real estate.)
Non-OneNote features
Ability to send note to DropBox.
Ability to integrate with OneNote.
What additional features would you like to see in HTC Notes?
Must say... great Idea.
I agree that the Notes app is lacking quite a few features.
Some of ur features seem to be common sense on a notes app.
kind of disapointed they are not included... however I still think that HTC has the best Note taking app implementation on Android as of yet.
I would like it if they made it so the lower button on the pen made the pen act like a finger

I also thought that I must be perfect when you can switch between pen and finger mode for the pen self. Then we can use the pen in all(!) applications like a mouse for marks and so forth...
They should let you choose if you want a note that only accepts pen input. I often find that I trigger the keyboard when I don't want it and you could avoid this if it just never came up - kind of like when you're annotating a page in the Reader.
I'm also using OneNote, and used EverNote before. Actually I prefer OneNote over EverNote.
My wishlist:
Ability to disable keyboard
Rich text editing on the device (I can create on the desktop and view from the device but I can't make text bold, italic, underlined or change font size on the device).
Ability to make images bigger or smaller, or crop them inside Notes app.
Zoom in and zoom out features
Ability to retain formatting when copied text from Android browser.
I also share these wishes:
• Ability to select handwritten notes to cut, copy, and paste.
• OCR for searching directly within HTC Notes. (aside from EverNote)
• The ability to add standard shapes to notes (circle, oval, rectangle, triangle, arrows, and stars)
• Different note page templates (to do list, meeting agenda, calendar and legal pad)
• Ability to add active hyperlinks
• Ability to integrate with OneNote.
• Ability to snip pictures from other applications and paste them into notes.

You can send images and text from Android browser to HTC Notes by using "Share" feature. For example, long press on an image, tap "Share" and tap "Notes". The problem is, the text loses all the formatting, making tables etc. unreadable.
I am glad so many other folks would like to see HTC Notes developed further.
The "snip" function that I was referring to was the ability to circle an image or text and copy and paste it to notes.
Another awesome app would be a Snag-it for android. I use that tool several times a day.
HTC Flyer / Tapatalk
anyway we can get HTC to find out about what we think might make it better?
^^ DOnt think so
Does Flyer have "Pen" to text?
Can we use the pen to send SMS?
I would like to combine more scribbles in one note. Currently it always takes a snapshot and I can save it as new note, but a popup menu allowing me to attach the snapshot to an existing note would be perfect.....
I'd like to see the spiral graphic go away, because it's just not helpful. I'd also like to be able to scroll infinity on the horizontal axis for unruly diagrams and tables.
Some kind of markdown-style structured text formatting would also be nice. Not WYSIWYG, just smart wiki-ish text parsing.?
I can probably post something to HTC support with a link to this discussion
They might listen if they find out that there is a group out there interested in using a "HTC Notes Premium". I would pay for more functionality.

I agree.
Another point is, there is no list view of notes. Also, everyday I use evernote, I wish I could zoom in and zoom out on notes.
I also wish there was an easy way to "unhighlight" highlighted text.
About the Spiral graphic
I think the spiral graphic is helpful
If you hold it, it actually disable all other input, except the pen, making it only pen usable.
wouldn't want that taken away
And I really need to resize the pictures. They are just too small if you have scribbled words on them.
Free the pen
This isnt necessarily a wish list for notes app but for the pen in general. Free it! by that i mean add an option to disable the scribble mode when touching the screen in any app that doesnt support the pen. with this option it would allow the pen to work as any normal capacitive stylus.
I like the notes app, but im looking forward to some of the handwriting to text apps that are coming to android soon and these would make the pen complete.

By the way, keeping your finger on the right side of the screen works for left-handed folks.

I think there is a bug in HTC notes preventing rich text notes that are created on desktop to be found when searched on the Flyer. This is really annoying!
Anybody experiencing the same?
I wish you could be able to flip the page in between notes like the reader app.
Color code notes is a good idea someone already mentioned.
Ability to scroll page to the right with double finger scroll
Pen to ocr would be amazing
Be able to edit a screenshot after you save it.
Be able to change the resolution of a screenshot. (bigger)
Annotate a whole html page instead of only parts from it.
Be able to make a notebook sync or unsync after setting it.

Messages app - change font size?

Using the Samsung Messages app on my Verizon S9+, I am unable to permanently change the font size in the actual conversation screen. Yes, you can pinch to shrink and expand font size but that gets reset to standard size every time (unlike on the S7 Edge where it remembered your size preference).
Through Settings, you can globally adjust font size but the only Messages screen this affects is the main Conversation screen which shows all conversations. Once you click on a conversation, normal font size is presented. Frustrating for my old eyes...
UPDATE: Ironically, when you adjust Font Size in Settings, if you swipe the sample screen above the sliders, it shows you a sample Messages screen and the font size does change in the sample, but it does NOT change in the actual Messages app. Sounds like a bug to me as they are depicting what I want to do, just doesn't work.
I'd like to use the stock app as it has some features that are unique. There must be a way to change the font size so the setting is persistent, no?
Seeing the same also. Hard for my aging eyes to see.
And also finding it doesn't follow the global setting for size. Same as you.
Same issue. I don't think you can change the font size just for the Message app.
I when back to my beloved and trusted Textra SMS app.
It changes when you change the font size in display settings font.

As I mentioned in my post, this is not true. On my phone, changing the font size in display setting ONLY affects font size in the main Conversations view. Once you click on an actual conversation, the font size returns to the default tiny size.
You can get a newer version on apkmirror.com but it wont allow updating samsung apps for some reson. Anyone have the latest version of messages signed by samsung that will install?
They need ro bring back the S8 messaging app which has this inbuilt feature to adjust text. Wonder, why they ripped off that useful feature.

I updated my original post with this tidbit:

Hopefully Samsung will acknowledge this bug and release a new version of the app. Clearly the global Font Size Setting is supposed to do exactly this.
Same thing. Very frustrating

It's really not that hard to pinch zoom. Takes a half second. Sure, it'd be nice if it would stick but, c'mon man.
I had a problem with the Background colors in the Messaging ap - some of the themes I like to use are really awesome but when I get to the messaging ap, they used yellow fonts on a white background - nearly impossible to read. I either have to use a different messaging ap entirely (Mood is a pretty good one I found that has TONS of customization options) or just guess at what was written - or change themes.
It's dissapointing that I can't change the balloons or fonts in the messaging ap any more - would be nice if we could - and change font size too - so for now, I am using the MOOD messaging ap and while I prefer the Samsung Stock one better - Mood isn't bad at all.
Its not only internal Messages app, Viber and Hangouts has really small font in input line. Tried increasing font size, tried toying with DPI settings. No idea why its like that and only affecting text input lines, but hope some later update could fix that?
Hi Everyone..I just got the 9 plus and the messaging app is different than it used to be. It is just blue bubbles with white background. It wont let me change anything like before and the setting the background wallpaper for messages is no longer there....is that how everyone else's is?
I also switched to Textra for the all of the customization that it offers. It's a free download so I gave it a try and I've stuck with it since. Just my 2¢

No, not "come on man". It should work as designed, and has worked since GSI-II.
I use Chomp. Let's you change all of the fonts and sizes, including the message notification pop-up.

I think you mean, "It should work the way I want it to work." It IS working as designed. It's just that you don't like the new design.
That's not to say that I don't agree that it would be better if we could choose a persistent font size. I do.
But we're talking about a split-second pinch out to increase the size.
A split-second.
So, yeah... C'mon.

Thousands of people having to take a split-second to adjust for a design bug every single time? No. You're missing the point.

Any way to change word prediction Type Font on Google handwriting keyboard? Kanji etc

I use the Google Handwriting Keyboard on my Android phone to input Japanese text, but sometimes it is annoying because I cannot tell if the predicted character on the top strip is a Kanji or Katakana, as they look similar when handwritten.
・For instance, 口 (a kanji called KUCHI) and ロ (a katakana called RO) show up as virtually identical.・Another example, 一 (kanji named ICHI) and ー (just a hyphen) also come up as similar.
Is there a way to use a different Type Font on the prediction strip? Some Fonts have good differentiation between those and other characters. The default ont on the prediction strip is a poor choice..
Changing the System-wide font does not work. Predicted words on the strip do not change with the system font.
