Hi all,
Will be any chance to port the GCam from Pixel 3 for Poco F1?
Many thanks
Well we will get one but need time for xda wizards to do their magic
Pixel 3 Camera port might fix the low light photo problems etc with that ai night sight. The features are all software based and so they should work on the port might as well due to similar hardware except forthe custom Visual Core chip. Definitely looking forward to test modes like TOP SHOT, PHOTOBOOTH , NIGHT SIGHT, SUPER RES ZOOM on the port

And better front camera support (which is not 5 mp)
Hoping this comes true.

It will always be 5mp since there is pixel binning of 5mp x 4 = 20mp

B-S-G is already working on Gcam 6.0, and I am alpha testing it. Should take few more days for beta to come out.

Set the minimum shutter speed to 1/20 or faster.
If you're disappointed with the front cam, complain to Xiaomi, not the people here.

Really disappointed? I'm not sure if your saying that just because it says 5MP in the camera or your actual front camera performs bad but GCam takes very good Front camera photos on my Poco F1.

If you are disappointed, then use MIUI Stock camera. Nobody is forcing you to use Gcam mod.
If you want shutter speed, then set your exposure to 1/16 at night.
Here is the test version of pixel 3 camera. Only for test.

First stop *****ing. The developer who mods owes you nothing. If you find something not working, report it as an issue and submit the logs. Stop whining like a kid.

Hi,
A very special thanks to B-S-G for making pixel 3 camera port for Poco F1 and
Also Sreekant(XDA senior Member) for letting us know and for links.

When I took some night/low light shots from both gcam6.1 and Poco F1's stock camera I really shocked how good the night mode is.

Yep. Front camera is where you can notice how bad Stock camera struggles with light exposure. Whereas there's no problem on Gcam.
Please check attached photos, clearly MI 6 wins, even without Gcam. Stock camera HDR on Poco is useless unfortunately

You've probably not configured it probably
Excuse me? I haven’t configured it proberly?
Are you kiddin me ? Sorry I expected to use a camera app as it comes for the device... my fault. You`re right Next time i’m Gonna configure it correct before using it. Didn’t expect it was windows what we were talking about.
I’m fine if you tell me this app needs a pie rom for best usage and indeed i only tried it on Miui 10 beta so far - but on miui10 it sucks. As i installed in in more than one version.
Edit:
I don`t want to miscredit the developer of the app in general. I really appriciate his work here. I would love to use it really - but cant in daily usage. thats all i wanted to say.

How to enable mirror image on gcam?
In settings the front camera says 5 megapixels and can't be changed higher than that. Are the photos in 5 megapixels or is it just a visual bug.
Hello friends,
I have a pocophone f1. Almost all hardware features are the same as the Mi 8 except Mi 8's OIS feature.
For me and according to the test results of xda users using Mi 8, this is the best GCam 7.x versions for now.
I want Mi 8 users to try this GCam with my settings and I hope I can deserve a Thanks. :good:

Me and some mi 8 users tested as you said BSG version and other modders versions. The best so far is the Parrot's gcam 7.0.009 final goodbye version that I have given at the top link.
I hope that Poco f1 active developer BSG, who I appreciate and respect, will make more better on updated GCam versions.
Thanks.
Thread Updated on 11.03.2020 for another good GCam. Thanks to onFire and @cstark27
You can also install and use two Gcams at the same time.
on 22-03-2020, I have tested latest parrot's gcam I have been waiting for a long time to working in pocophone f1 and mi 8.
Also last fewdays I have tested latest gcam versions san1ty, onfire, the_dise, pitbull, marlin-ku, urnyx05, burial and jairo_rossi too.
Unfortunately, Still picture quality of two gcams I have shared above beat all new 7.x gcam versions.
I use the Burial version that may be the only one that you have not try?. It works almost perfect. The only thing that I think that doesn't work is the eis or oiS on video.
Astro, amazing
Light painting option, amazing too
Video with both cameras (wide and tele with no estabilización)
HDR and hdr+ amazing again
Portrait, ok
Lots of options
...
Almost perfect on mi8 with last oficial firmware
I use and test burial's many and last versions too. Also i have special config for burial :
https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/...rs-gcam_7.2.010_burial-vb_release03.03.20.xml
With my settings (above .xml) burial's night shot is good BUT onfire's gcam that I share link and settings best and beat burial's and all until this time
Please try onfire's gcam with my settings, look photo details and sharpness on computer and then make your decision

Which burial version do you use?
I have tried GCam_7.2.010 Burial 14.03.20 and it crashes at first boot on Los17.
I tested both GCam_7.2.010_Burial-vB_release03.03.20 and GCam_7.2.010_Burial-vC_release14.03.20
My opinion onFire's gcam is still best with my settings. :good:

Hello! Try this one for Poco;
I have already tested UltraCVM_v4 and PixelCam_7.3_V5.0 gcams.
I don't like using separate setting or XML for different modes. So I am doing my tests as a single setting or XML. For example, with PixelCam_7.3_V5.0, I think I caught a good setting in night mode, but with the same settings, the day mode is shooting badly.
There is still no gcam to replace the onFire and parrot gcams I have used so far.

Important Update :
On parrot's gcam for less grain and sharp photos change this settings :
Settings --> Advanced --> Binary settings libraries -- > ISO limit : 500(ISO200)
(my full settings on first page for new users)
I think after that in most cases my first choice will be parrot gcam.
This is incredible for me, indeed.

Hello there,
is there any possibility to use the zoom lens on Mi8?
Hi @xda-dvlprs, thread is being closed as an existing GCam thread already exists. Having multiple threads for the one mod is not productive. Kindly continue the discussion in the following thread:

Got this from Reddit thread.
The camera on MIUI 12 has a pro mode. If you set the shutter speed (S) to max (32) and ISO to max (3200) , you can take decent picture of night sky. I think it's as better as Gcam if not more.
Hope it works.

I used to use urynx Gcam on miui11, but now on miui12, the default camera works so good that I don't use Gcam anymore. I could be wrong but last I checked Gcam still had limitation of 12MP, because pixel phones have 12MP or something.
Yet still Gcam by Urnix makes better photos cause of Google AWB and due taking many shots while in astrophotography mode. And the stars are a bit more detailed I think

12MP is the raw image provided by the camera2Api,
48 image resolution using pixel binning by combining 2x2 (4) pixels.
I use gcam especially because it provides sharper selfies way better than stock

I have a normal Note 8 ((M1908C3JG) I wait miui 12, I have miui11, for test astrophotography.
a little bit of photoshop express to remove the sunshine that turn the pic so much "blue" haha, sorry by my english... I know its bad
These lens don't have enough light gathering abilities due their small size.
Cooling the phone down to a cooler temperature will reduce the noise floor level of the cmos sensor though.

I can't compare to older Pixels but I tend to agree the 6 camera is a letdown. My old Moto couldn't do Camera2 stuff or night photography but at least it gave me macro, common EV controls, and warm colors with quality jpegs. What impresses me most about Pixel 6 camera is its digital zoom sharpness.

Thank you, I used Nikita's 8.2 on my Pixel 2 XL but when I tried it on my Pixel 6 it would snap a shot but not save it onto the internal memory.
Is there a specific build that you recommend or that works?

You can capture some great shots but the processing is I feel it falls behind even the older hardware and Pixel phones. I haven't seen it personally but others have mentioned it online and on expert reviews.
No wonder Marques crowned the Pixel 5A best Smartphone Camera a few months back.
This is where the 6A can dominate over the P6 and P6 Pro since it will have the same hardware.
