After rooting my phone, I've noticed that the ATT is constantly up in the corner of my screen. Even now as I type this. I read another thread farther down called carrier name in which they made it seem as though the carrier name should disappear after a few seconds. Since I only had my phone for a few hours before rooting, and it has done this since then, I'm wondering if I broke something. Also, it appears as though I am constantly connected to 4g although I'm fairly certain that my area doesn't have it.

4g is what it will show unless on LTE or edge. There is no 3g indicator. As far as the AT&T sign, does it show while connected to wifi. Everything looks fine to me

The ATT logo never goes away. Any notifications go to the right of it.

My carrier name will go away after a couple of seconds. I'm still running stock.
Mine stays there. Never goes away. Currently connected to wifi and still there. Looks like I broke something.
Edit: So I flashed stock kernal and everthing found herehttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1506330 and still have the [email protected] in the upper corner all the time. Any ideas?

The carrier label well appear at all times until you receive a notification. It'll go away after a few seconds only if there is a notification icon. It appears again when you pull the status bar down.

I see what your saying. After viewing the Note review on the engadget site, and noticing that it doesnt say AT&T on theirs in the video, I thought I had broken something while flashing, rooting etc.... Even went so far as to go through the pages of "Post your homescreens" to see if anyone else had it too. But most are so modified its a waste.
Is there a way to factory reset without having clockwork?
Settings -> Backup and reset -> factory reset

I updated to the latest PRL and I have been having trouble acquiring 3g connection at work in Houston. It goes in and out and the data speeds are abysmal. It is very fustrating. My OG Evo was slow but not this slow here at my office. Im not a happy camper....
Have you rebooted?
at least you get some what of 3g. every time i turn 3g on i get "sprint error code 97"
i cant send texts or make calls.
i think my PRL update failed mid download and now i cant update it at all. ugh this is so annoyinggg
iv rebooted so many times. every time i go to *2 it says i have an PRL update. when i go to click it i get this..
Try turning on wifi, then turning mobile off. Then wifi off, and the mobile back on.
Mine had to try turning on a few times, but eventaully came back. Thing is, my prl didn't even update.
Still on the same one, which apparently can vary by location.
Doing the *2 will probably always tell you there is an update.
Mine came with that prl. I haven't had a issues other then Wednesday it wouldn't connect for about a half hour. I did about the reboots and it finally worked again

If you are having issues make sure you also update your profile. The option is right above "update prl"
Settings>System Updates>Update Profile
Also, try updating your PRL through the phone and not through *2 first and see if that works, then update your profile.

I live in Houston (Sugar Land) as well and yesterday I had a chance to play with this. WOW, just leaving my house and not turning WiFi off it wouldn't connect to 3G, I would get the icon everyonce in a while, but trying to get a speed test i would get connection failure every time...
So I turned off data, wifi then turned back on and it worked. I hope I don't have to do this every time... but I can tell you before this I didn't do this and noticed when I would turn my phone on after i left my house (WiFi) for the first 5 seconds or so after the screen lit up there would be no 3G icon, then it would appear and get up/down arrow traffic...
Seems something is wonky? Not sure if this update fixed or made it worse, once I was able to connect I got really good (for 3G on sprint) speeds 1.4 down and .7 up... I would do a screen shot, but forgot how? thought it was power home but that isn't working..
still love the phone though...

I got into settings but there is no "system updates" or "update profile". There was on my who 3d. Is it hidden somewhere?
I tried to update, prl stayed the same. 3g went out, until turning mobile data off, and back on.
Sure wish they'd flip the LTE switches here in their hometown. I'm roughly 2 miles from sprint headquarters..
Glad I don't see the bill, because if I did I'd stop paying it.
This seems to be a common thing this morning. I spent an hour on the phone with tech support. She told me to take the phone back, however it seems that a lot of people had this problem. Mine is back up and running with 3g.

What to
Are u running.g?
Speeds have been abysmal since about early afternoon here in VA. Speedtested and got anywhere between 90-220ish kbs, can barely stream Pandora on low quality (which means it's TERRIBLE).
Updated PRL and didn't really see any differences.
What is the new number of the prl..still 25004 here.

I had the same issue on my phone. I called Sprint and had to do a factory reset before I could re-establish a data connection. Make sure your contacts and any files you want to keep are backed up and clear out Google Wallet if you haven't already and factory reset the phone. Go through the normal activation process and you should be back up. I won't touch my PRL update again unless I absolutely have to.
The Dark One
Anybody still having this issue? I tried "all of the above" minus a factory reset withno results until I turned LTE off... so far, all is fine.
Nashville, TN btw...

I'm on Mean Rom, currently. I'm certain the setting was there on flex360s, and Fresh Rom, too. Not 100% sure about Fresh Rom, though.
I always appreciated your work on previous devices. Are you considering making a rom for the LTE?

This never was a problem for me for years but now, for some unknown reason, it is. I am signed into Google Talk on both my Evo LTE and my laptop. I will converse with someone on the laptop and normally whenever I start replying the phone shuts up for the duration of the conversation unless there is a long break w/o messages. It will notify me again and I'm fine with this. I just had a conversation on my laptop and this phone sounded the notification and vibrated EACH time I received another message even though I was actively sending replies via the laptop. This is frustrating. How can I solve this?
I'm doing this same thing right now. I do not get the extra notifications. Probably just a fluke. Sign out and back in...open the chat on the phone so it's active....reboot....try any/all of the above.
I do the same thing everyday, and no extra notifications.
My problem doesn't appear to end there. If I'm on a Talk conversation on my phone it still sounds the notification for EVERY received message even though the conversation window is still open. This is quite annoying.
Check ur settings for g chat on the pc, there might be something there

Thanks for the advice but I already checked all the settings both from a PC as well as the phone. Nothing affected this. The weird part is it appears to have fixed itself today for some unknown reason. Just as mysteriously as it arrived... it left. Hopefully it stays gone.
I have noticed the same glitch. My only take is that the LTE keeps us signed in to gChat whereas the Evo and other Android phones allowed you to turn gChat on the phone off.

This isn't the case with me as my previous mobile devices stayed signed in the entire time.

I have had this happen to me on all 4g phones i have owned(GNex, iPhone 5, GNote 2). I just put the phone into airplane mode and wait till the bars go away and it shows the plane then turn airplane mode off and it goes back to 4g. Probably happened to me a half dozen times.

I was using Phone Info from the app store and I manually set it to cdma prl auto to force 3g in a non 4G area. Now I can't revert it. Any ideas?
Anyone else getting this error? It happens to me at least one a day. A quick reboot makes it disappear but I'd like to know what's causing it or how to turn it off.

Off and on all day. I at first thought it was when my phone was auto switching from WIFI to mobile data but I have that disabled.
I then thought that perhaps it was occurring when switching from 3G to 4GLTE, but honestly, it appears that it can happen at any time.
Some times it gets "stuck". More often then not it will within a minute or two clear itself.
Yeah I dont have connections optimizer or 4G enabled. It just makes me think something is wrong. I guess I could remove the sim and pop it back in and see if it happens still.

Yep sprint is wrong with it .... mine gets the ehrpd error and it will then connect to evdo but it happens to Others and my wife's too ... I was told it's because of the work on towers but we've been told that a million times lol

I've experienced the same thing every now and then. I suspect it's when the data is switching from 3 to 4G.
