I use this version too, works great with my android 8 based rom.
I wish I could decrease the size of the photo files. In my settings I selected (16: 9) 2.1 Megapixels and JPG quality at 70% and the photos get average size of 3.5 MB.
Is there any way to lower the resolution? My photos get 4656 x 2618 in size.

Sorry, I didn't understand what's bad cluster config.
By the way, today I discovered if disable "HDR+" the pictures file size are perfect (1080 x 1920, 394 kb). When I enable "HDR+ or HDR+ plus" the file size is always generate with big resolution (2618 x 4656 - 4,48 mb)
With your version it does not happen?

The weirdest thing is that my gcam doesn't capture any photos when I disable HDR. It means that unfortunately i can't take 384kb photos like you. I've not gone through all the settings but i think there's something I can do to make it work. Anyways, I don't mind large photos.
Bad Cluster is a XDA user that created some optimal settings for the camera app that make it easier to change many settings in gcam without going into the actual settings. There are three configs namely fast picrure, balanced, and quality. I have attached them here.

Decrease screen battery usage
What : flash the linked file. It simply adds two lignes to your build.prop, and a configuration file for the auto-brightness settings.
How : Apical has developed an innovative technology to allow a better use of the screen pixels that decreases the battery usage while increasing the contrast in high luminosities. It is compatible with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor that is in all SM-G900 variants, except for the H (exynos). You can read more info on the qualcomm website.
Uninstall : two solutions ; dirty flash the ROM, OR, using a root file manager, like "file explorer" from NextApp, open "/system/build.prop", then delete the 7 last lines (from #Assertive Display to persist.radio.data_no_toggle = 1), save and reboot
A way of testing whether it is activated is described in this post. It seems to be working on my G900F.
Credits :
- The option was ported in the nexus 6 forum by @fedef12evo. What I did in the linked flashable file is modify the resolution to match the s5 resolution, and update it to AD 1.3.
- Also, my zip file was faulty. @thejester123 has updated it and made it working in this post. Thanks. Actually he should be the one to thank
Going to give this a try will let you know how it goes. Thanks
I confirm it works. Today I was surprised at how much my screen was consuming battery. And saw that the AD was off. So, at the least, it allows a huge gain in terms of battery usage! I saw similar reports on the nexus 6 thread.
Anyone else has feedback?

It works for both, as it is an hardware feature included in the processor. The original mod was shown to be working on LP. If you want to stop using it you just can remove the two last lines of the build.prop, the ones after # Assertive Display
whats wrong with your updater-script? you took it from another mod and paste it into your file? it does not even set the right permissions to ad_calib.cfg
//edit:
and you said you changed the resolution in the .cfg file to the matching values for our s5? as far as i know the s5 has a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and not 1440 x 2560 (like in your file).
your file is the same as @Miustone posted in this post.
you are just sharing something which has nothing to do with the s5 (except the hardware)

Well that's what I said in the op... Including the link to miustone post!
Indeed I modified the cfg on my own s5 but not in the zip. For the permissions I thought I had modified it to set the permissions... Perhaps I was too quick posting it as I wanted to share this feature. My main point was making people aware of this feature.
Works with s7 ported roms?
I got the opposite result. The battery steadily drains while I was just browsing thru the Facebook App. Maybe it's the Firmware I am using (CPF7).
BTW I am using SM-G900F.

@alexbelgium thanks for the port :good:
do we flash it with twrp or odin ?
and did you change the permissions and the resolution so we can use it ?
Use the attached file as I have fixed the flashable zip and added all the extra mods from the original thread too. I take not credit for this as all I have done is update the files, add the extras and repack to a working flashable zip
Would this work on 4.4.2?

Is it possible or any dev can port the Google HDR+ Camera for our device. As far as i knw only snapdragon devices has the port till nw. If someone can do this will be great!
not happening any soon
Maybe its not happening.
As far as I know, its need Qualcomm hexagon dsp to support the algorithm.
But recently a news came for exyons devices(s7,s8) supporting Google hdr+.
If dev able to port it for exynos they might able to do for Kirin processors but I don't thik its happening any soon.

If you see a white circle after clicking, and if there is a processing hdr+ icon in the top right of the picture, and also the quality is much better then stock, then it is processed. If you miss any of above, than hdr+ is not working really.

Well done SatySatsZB
It works. Nice App. Thanks.
Anyone notices a difference on your phones temperature using 96hz? Mine is a little bit warmer compared to using 60hz. Im using S20 Ultra.
Also I just realized that this app still prioritizes the set display Hz rate in Settings>Display>Motion Smoothness. If you set 60Hz in display settings the app wont work.
what's the application behind this? or usage for common folks?
Noob question but it's 96hz at FHD so is this to save battery vs the 120?
Can we do the same with older devices, like Note8 and S8?
Almost all Xiaomi phones are supported to increase refresh rate up to 84-85...

So are you guys satisfied with Gcam on the 8 for the most part? Does the ultrawide camera work without issues?

I don't really use it. It's stable yes, but the color balance is a long ways off what I was used to when I had gCam on my 3T. It's good to have it as an option, but need to try some different Configs before I'll use it for anything important.
