LG G Vista 2 "Unfortunately System UI Has Stopped" - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've got an LG G Vista 2 that I've been trying to turn into an audiobook/podcast/mp3 player after decommissioning it from use as a cellphone about a year ago. However, whenever I boot the phone the screen remains black and a popup appears saying: "Unfortunately System UI has stopped". When tapping "ok" to close the popup the screen remains black and shortly later another popup appears, effectively preventing any interfacing with the device. Even keeping the power down menu open long enough to turn off the phone is a struggle.
It seems like the most common recommendation online is to factory reset the phone through recovery mode - I have tried that several times, each time the popup comes up even before going through the Android setup process. The same popup comes up even in safe mode. I'm at a loss of what to do: I have no way to interface with the phone, through the device still seems to work fine. I'm wondering if this issue is possibly caused by a hardware fault that is manifesting in a software issue, or if the OS install is just incredibly corrupted.
Is there any way to reinstall Android on the phone without being able to access its GUI? Being a lower-end phone from several years ago it is rather hard to find OEM ROMs online, though even if I had a ROM I wouldn't know exactly what to do. I would appreciate any recommendations on where to go from here.

No, unfortunately not. It doesn't seem to be a straightforward fix and I haven't gotten around to really working on it. I'm still open for sugustions if anyone has any tips.

T-Mobile pushed a OS system update on 12/3/13. After 3 weeks of the constant reminder, my girlfriend talked me into attempting to get the update to install last night.
So I moved all of her pictures to an external SD card, and attempted the update. With the phone fully charged & plugged into an outlet it failed several times. After checking available system memory I found that the unit had less than 100 mb. So I did a factory reset, to remove the many, many apps that were installed after purchase.
On initial boot the phone does not enter into a Setup Wizard like most handsets, instead it goes straight to the home screen (no lockscreen) and a warning is displayed. "Unfortunately, Home has stopped." and the only option is "OK". When attempting to navigate to the >System>Settings nothing happens (Black screen) & eventually you will get the "Unfortunately, Home has stopped." to display or occasionally "Unfortunately, SystemUI has stopped." or "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped.".
You are not able to answer a call, text, etc....Attempting to swipe down and choosing Quick Settings Browser, the browser opens and then closes with "Unfortunately, Home has stopped.". The app drawer will not open.
I've completed many, many (north of 20) hard factory resets by:
Powering off
Pressing Power+Volume Down+Home
Following the prompts of pressing "Power" twice to initiate & confirm the Factory Rest
The Green Android Bug is displayed and then back to the above problem of "Unfortunately, Home has stopped."
Forcing the unit into Safe Mode, and you get the same results as above.
My two complaints with this model is that it has very limited system memory & zero ROM support.
Being the phone is not rooted, neither is ADB set on the unit. So pushing another launcher to the phone is not possible that I'm aware of, also no means to enter fastboot.
When the unit was taking by the T-Mobile store stated the phone has been wet due to a pink indicator on the battery. We purchased the unit new and it has never by wet (We do live a couple of blocks from the ocean). So the T-Mobile store refused to service the unit. Also the unit was completely functional until attempting this system update.
Any suggestions? (tossing it in the garbage would be wonderful if I could afford a replacement, which I am not at this time).

Apparently LG has a software tool that reset's the phone to factory. WIN

With the One V, you had to flash the boot.img in fastboot. Sometimes I would forget and this would be three result.

You had it lucky. My phone, same one, is stuck at the LG screen. No animation, just a picture. It has been sitting like that for hours. I connected it to my computer, and it doesn't show up. I think it's screwed.

[Q] Xperia Sola strange symptoms.

Greetings reader. I'm new to the forum but have been viewing threads every now and then, so after having read plenty of times that people should search before posting. I have searched and didn't find what I was looking for, so that's why you can read this now ;p.
4 days ago when I was trying to browse the web in college I wasn't able to connect to the wifi network or even open the wifi settings, so I reset my phone only to find the problem persisting. As if something locked me out of the wifi settings.
I'm perfectly able to access any of the other settings, so I think it's kinda weird.
Shortly after I realised I couldn't get to the wifi anymore my phone started to reboot itself automatically. Ever since that first reboot it just keeps rebooting at the same pace over and over again until I either power it off or until the battery dies.
The phone also get's unusually hot now. Not like, super hot, but definitely hotter than any other time I can remember.
I also get error messages since the problems started saying: 'Process system is not responding'. I then get the option to either force close it or wait. Neither seem to do much if anything at all other than taking away the error message. Sounds kinda critical if you'd ask me.
But so after all these symptoms started to appear I figured I'd just do a factory reset and be done with it, but every time I go into the factory reset settings, I put in my lock screen pattern and then at the last step (pressing the Erase all data button) it just does nothing.
I can touch the button and it does give the animation that it is being pressed, but it just doesn't do anything.
The phone doesn't freeze though, I can still navigate after pressing the button only to see it reboot again shortly after.
After that I tried to flash the rom, but for some reason my PC refuses to show my phone's internal memory in my pcor any sign of my phone's connection at all.
I haven't tried it on any other pc yet, so it might just be my pc, though I doubt it is since it was perfectly able to recognize it shortly before all this started.
The device hasn't endured any shocks lately or expsure to water or whatever, so I think that's ruled out as well.
I am running the stock rom, 2.3 Gingerbread I believe, and the warranty is already way over date (I think. I'll have to check that).
Any suggestions as on how to determine what could be causing this, or how to fix it? Because I really don't want to buy a new phone xD.

Kindle Fire Hdx 8.9 4th gen stuck on boot / driver woes

I have a Windows 10 PC and a Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 that I purchased about 2 years ago. Up until the past few days I was a very basic user. Just spotify, web browsing and some games. The most advanced things I did on it were install some apk files from the internet and make it so the screen was always on in the secret developer options menu. Up until Monday I had no intentions of rooting my tablet or doing any high level tech wizardry with it.
But the past few weeks I have been noticing significant performance decreases in my kindle. Apps crashing, screen freezing, slow performance. I didn't think much of it, I figured I just had too many terrible games on it. On Friday morning it crashed while I was using it and attempted to boot back up but with the [fastboot] text under the word amazon. It got stuck on this screen, restarting it just brought it back to this, attempting to hold the power button and the volume up button didn't appear to do anything either. Eventually after restarting it about 20 times it booted normal for whatever reason. After this it worked normal for another day and then it crashed again and booted with the [fastboot] text. I read up more on fastboot and various kindle fire issues and jammed restarts until it randomly worked again.
This time I when it was working I tried restoring it to factory default in case something I had done or added was the cause of these boot loops or whatever. I also went into developer options and turned on usb debugging since my reading made it seem like that was pretty necessary.
It crashed and restarted again Monday morning but it didn't get stuck in fastboot this time, it just got stuck on the word amazon. So I installed the various tools and drivers I have read about on here and I have been doing my best to try and make it work again. But as someone with zero experience with this sort of thing I have hit a wall.
When I first hooked it up last night I set the driver to the "adb interface driver", I got adb to see the device and I was able to execute some commands to it. I made it reboot just to see if I could, it still stopped at the word amazon, and then I went to sleep. Today I turned on my computer and adb will not find the device. Apparently something changed overnight and windows will now only see the device as a standard mtp usb device. I have attempted to force it to change with the "update drivers -> browse my computer -> let me pick from a list -> Have disk " line. But when I choose the kindle drivers or the adb drivers it tells me they are incompatible. Unplugging and plugging back in doesn't do anything. Restarting doesn't do anything. Attempting to uninstall the drivers doesn't do anything. I don't know what is left or how to fix this so I can proceed. And honestly even after I get through this road block I have no idea what I should do to try and make my tablet operational again. So I am in need of some guidance. Is there anyone out there that can show me the way or at least get adb to see my device again?

The symptoms you describe suggest a hardware vs software problem. Guessing bad memory (or controller) given the random boot behavior. Unfortunately, there is little you can do to rectify the problem, even if software based, on an unrooted 4th gen HDX. ADB will not allow privileged access unless the device rooted.
Look on eBay for another motherboard. Might also want to grab a daughterboard as well.
Watch some teardown videos on YouTube. Everything applies to the 4th gen as it does from the 3rd gen as far as taking it apart.
In total you can fix it for around $65. That's with buying both boards which you possibly only need the motherboard.

Crashing Huawei Ascend G7 - Please Help!

I'm not sure if this is a Huawei Ascend G7 issue, or if it's an Android issue. About two weeks ago, my phone began randomly restarting by itself. It would then go into somewhat of a bootloop, in that it got to my lock screen, processed a bit, and then restarted again. When I'd hold the power button, it would restart and work well...for a few hours, and then it would restart again. I started removing my most recently-installed apps and it kept happening.
Eventually, I got fed up, and restored from scratch and once I connected my Google account, all my apps loaded back up, and the same issue persisted.
I previously had the phone rooted with Kingoroot, and this issue occurred before I removed it, as I figured that may be related. When I restored, I got rid of it and it's nowhere to be seen on my phone, and I don't have root access anymore.
Questions -
a) Does anybody know what the hell could cause this behaviour?
b) I'm not a newbie with Android, but I'm not much of a techie either. I've been trying to see the logs for my phone, but I've installed a few log-viewing apps and they all seem to need root. How can I view the log files to figure out what the culprit is?
Any help you can give me would be really welcome. It's not quite a crisis right now, but it's pretty frustrating when my phone randomly reboots and there doesn't seem to be any consistency in what I'm doing to cause it...

Phone has suddnely become very unresponsive

I understand if this is too broad a question, but on the off-chance there is at least a broad category of problems anyone could point me to...
I've had a problem with the phone after asking a third party file managing app to look for duplicate files (usually quite a long operation). It failed to complete, and since then nothing has been working on the phone and it keeps restarting. The weird thing is (or at least weird in my experience). It hasn't frozen or crashed. It's just that everything seems to be finding it hard to do anything. It's exactly the same in safe mode.
I turned on some developer tools (CPU indicator and notification for unresponsive apps). I don't really know what the CPU indicator is showing me (having no point of reference), but it spiked very quickly one time to cover almost the whole screen then calmed down to sit about a quarter along, so I'm presuming CPU usage is far from full. The unresponsive app notification is more telling as every minute or so a new app comes up with "... is not responding. Would you like to close it?". Basically everything is not responding.
I also tried checking running apps and cached processes, the third party app is not still running, just the usual set of background Google apps.
I can't do any USB debugging or software repair because "USB connectivity is not responding". I can't uninstall or re-install anything because "Settings is not responding" and "Google Play is not responding". I can't even use certain developer tools because many of those are "...not responding"
I realise this means I'm probably out of options, but before a factory reset (or the bin!) I'd just like to try and understand what could have happened. At least I could possibly avoid it next time.
Just to add - I've just done a Factory Reset. The problem is still there, apps don't respond, I can't uninstall anything, USB connection doesn't respond (or does respond but keeps dropping out) and after a while it will spontaneously restart. How on earth can one operation do this to a phone?

Try to install some app which keep notifying you whenever you get such virus in your handset.

If you have a custom recovery I would suggest you to wipe the system os and install firmware again
You can google search it like
How to install stock firmware on 'your device'
But instead of just solving the problem, I am much more curious in knowing how the problem occurred
Could you please tell me
What was the app's name?
From where did you download the app?
And did you granted root permission to the app?
