1-). Nitrogen OS Stock kernel is the best. (Dummy know why it isn't bootibg Try clean flashing)
2-). Franco kernel is the best for any nougat ROM AFAIK
3-) Radon kernel a stupendously made kernel you can try it (its the best for miui mm works very good on nougat roms too)

i did clean flash but it still bootloops.
Any other workaround?
Try another recovery.

I wanted to flash a custom Kernel for the best battery life and buttery performance over my Nitrogen OS 8.1 ROM. After going through the xda posts and several kernel review videos, Franco Kernel was the best match.
So I tried flashing the latest version 'fk-r16-anykernel2.zip' over my clean ROM but it resulted in a bootloop. So I did a factory reset, flashed AOSP Extended (I thought probably Nitrogen OS and Franco doesn't go hand in hand), and tried Franco Kernel again but without success. I tried all the available versions of the kernel for Oreo ROMs but all resulted in a bootloop ultimately. Please help if anyone has faced the same problem.
I tried wiping the Cache and Dalvik Cache before and after flashing the kernel (although I don't see a point in doing that).
My device information:
Device - Redmi Note 3 SD (Kenzo)
ROM - AOSP Extended Oreo (June 10 official build)
Bootloader unlocked.
TWRP Recovery 3.2.1 installed.
No custom kernel installed.
FK is outdated and will NOT work with roms with the new device tree. This is already posted on that thread and AOEX too.

Ohh.. I didn't know that.. Thanks for your quick reply.. Can you please suggest any alternate Kernel that's as good and supports the new device tree?
Thanks in advance.
Agni kernel latest
The stock kernel is good enough for me, you can always use a kernel auditor to edit it. People use agni kernel.

I tried that too. But there were stutters everywhere. That led me on to Radon. Are you using it with AOSP Extended?
Im using it on bootleggers
Guys, currently I have LOS 14.1 but I wanted some other rom with Android Oreo, which ones do you recommend me? And after installing what should I do to improve it? For example, changing the kernel... Thanks!
Best Rom Overall: AEX 4.7 by pzzt (nougat) (stock kernel)
Best Oreo Ron: ABC (latest) (stock kernel)
Best kernel for battery (NOT GOOD FOR GAMING!): Agni kernel
I may provide links if you need any.

In what ways do you think the AEX nougat rom is better than nitrogen oreo?

Builds tend to differ from device to device. Every device has a different maintainer. A ROM which is heavenly stable in one device might be quite an issue in another. I suggest you to begin with ROMs with bigger communities (Like Lineage, AEX, RR etc) and Kernels with bigger communities (Like Franco etc) to get a brief but a first hand experience of different ROMs/Kernels.
after using many ROM finally I'm left with OS lineage with the stock kernel:good:

Quite understandable. LineageOS has a good mount of polish for a custom firmware
i would go for CrDroid without custom kernel cuz their stock kernel rocks. Battery is smooth as it gets and hey i can play pubg with 45-50 fps lol
I want to know about best custom roms available for poco f1. Which one should I flash.
Is there any MIUI based custom rom for this device?
