Because no one knows when.
Its like everyone bought this phone just because of Android 10! Even the developers, because its clear nobody is developing until android 10 comes out.
I just pray this phone doesnt end up like an Xperia Z5 compact i owned awhile back. Great phone but very little dev support!
I've condacted xiaomi support about Android 10 and this is reply:

Firstly they told me it's a branded device and they couldn't help me. At the same time, I got this email from another person on the support team, meaning they read emails, and care.

German Facebook page is official my conversation was with them
I already told them that I won't buy the phone if they ignore the European community. Gosh this phone could be so much better than the oneplus 3...
I think much better if they would optimize the sofware because if we only take the hardware specs the axon 7 is much better. Display, Audio, Kamera and Battery but the OP3 have the better sofware I think :/

Nope they don't. Vendors support their devices for as long as they feel like supporting them. There's vendors that don't support their devices at all, or for 1 yr, or 2. Very few support their devices past 2 years.

Bet this guy is a Samsung or OnePlus fanboy and doesn't want his phone to be beat by a better phone.
I don't think this is going to happen, petition or not. I just don't see ZTE committing the resources to the A7 when they will be focusing on the newest device. If they do, great. However, I don't hold out any hope of it happening.

One way is with unlocked bootloader. I don't know the details but if you don't know the details you will most likely brick your phone.
Another safe way is to pay for funkyhuawei service they offer unofficial firmware updates like emui9 beta. It costs money but it works and they have top notch customer support. You have to decide how much you hate waiting. I am on emui 9 beta since September, it works perfectly fine and I don't wanna go back .... I am just waiting for the final release now.
LG is testing the beta pie firmware for LG V20 F800L in South Korea.
