Greetings everyone,
I have a problem with my LG V30 (H930) data.
I'm from Argentina, and my carrier uses bands 2, 4 and 28. The problem is that when I go to the "hidden menu" only band 28 is working fine, when i tap on band 2 or 4, it says "FAIL".
If i go through my phone specifications, band 2 and 4 should work well.
I have already upgraded to "H93020u_00_OPEN_EU_OP_0528" on DL partition with LGUP.
Sorry if i don't speak english very good.

Some possible answers...
1) IF you have EU H930 LG V30, then yes, you should have LTE bands 2 and 4, in addition to LTE band 28. You shouldn't need the hidden menu.
EU H930
2G GSM: 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G (HSPA): 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100
4G LTE: 1/2/3/4/5/8/12/17/20/28/38
(some sites don't list LTE band 2 for EU H930)
Are you SURE you have EU H930 and not another H930 variant like H930D/H930DS? Just because you flash EU H930 firmware over H930D/ H930DS that will not give you EU H930 bands. H930D/H930DS do NOT have LTE bands 2 & 4, but do have LTE band 28. This sounds suspiciously like your situation...
H930D/H930DS
4G LTE: 1/3/5/7/8/20/28/38/39/40/41
Search your IMEI online in IMEI database (see link below) and it will definitely tell you what H930 or H930 variant you have. It's possible whoever used the phone before you (if you bought used) flashed it to EU H930 firmware -- but it's really H930D or H930DS.
https://swappa.com/esn
______
2) Apologies if I"m making assumptions, and I don't know what part of Argentina you live and travel -- but maybe your carrier only has LTE band 28 in your specific area? Have you gone to other places in Argentine where you know other people receive LTE bands 2 & 4?
For instance, my carrier AT&T uses LTE bands 2, 4, 5, 12(17) nationwide. However, in the specific area where I live and work (about 30 miles), AT&T uses LTE bands 2 and 12(17) -- and a few towers with LTE band 5, to supplement 2 and 12(17). If I went into Hidden Menu and tried to force LTE band 4, it would FAIL -- because there's no LTE band 4 in that area. Whereas if I travel north out of the city, suddenly I start to see LTE band 4 almost exclusively, and the other LTE bands disappear.
_____
If either of those are not the answer, then Master Reset your phone, and flash most recent EU H930 30q KDZ via Dev Patched LGUP in REFURBISH mode.

Please write in English on XDA. It's actually a rule. You can write in another language but also translate in English.

bro I commented in our language: You have to put a firmware nougat of us998 and then you go to Oreo, then you can just go on foot using the model you want but with the option to flash ddl partition without ticking the xbl and xbl2 modem options so you continue to maintain the baseband of us998 which is the best one, or you can put the foot version of us998 that came out a few days ago.
look for the frankestein method threads, and also how to convert us998 to h930 so you have everything you need.
remember to use the lgup dual mode which is the best one and the file that is created in the thread of us998 nougat firmware.
it served me in my h931 and now I have it with an h930 firm

DO NOT CONVERT H930 TO US998.
Even if you untick the modems, what good does that do? It's the modems that's giving him problems. He's not receiving LTE bands 2 & 4.
Yours is exact opposite. You went from AT&T H931 to US998, then flashed firmware to H930 while keeping US998 modems. You have US998 modems.
He has EU H930 or perhaps Mid-East/Africa H939D or H930DS modems and can't change that.
So, Frankenstein (converting one North American variant to another) doesn't apply to his situation whatsoever. Unless he's mistaken and he has actually has AT&T H931?
If he searches for his IMEI in the database link I gave, he can confirm what phone model he has. Then we can go from there.

Sorry for this post, but I want to help the GT-S5830B and GT-S5830L users because in this forum only coverage the GT-S5830 users.
At this moment, exist 3 models of the Samsung Galaxy Ace, the global version is the GT-S5830 and the original firmwares exist in samfirmware.com and in this forum exist some custom firmware to this device.
The others versions are the GT-S5830B and GT-S5830L, the main difference in all versions are:
2G:
All versions: GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G:
S5830: HSDPA 900 / 2100
S5830B: HSDPA 850 / 2100
S5830L: HSDPA 850 / 1900
I have a question, why in Samfirmware don't appear American Region?, Samsung will launch a Android 2.3 to GT-S5830B and GT-S5830L device?
At this moment we have some firmwares for this device, but this firmwares need to be installed over an European Version such S5830XXKPE or S5830XXKPH and this firmware must be flashed with Oding using custom package option.
Some firmware are:
Chile - Entel
Mexico - Telcel
If a GT-S5830L user install a firmware of samfirmware.com have this issue:
When phone boots with a simcard inserted, this connect with the operator network and detects the data APN.
The user can dial to a number without problems
Some seconds later (30 sec aprox) the phone change to "Emergency calls mode", the user couldn't make more calls and 3G network not available
If the user reboot the phone works again but some few seconds the phone comes to "Emergency calls only"
Any one could help us to have original firmware in samfirmware.com or exist any method to install an European firmware and don't have the "Emergency calls only" issue
To solve the issue the user need to set usage of only 2G networks in Settings.
i have same problem with firmware, but i manged to fix this problem with another phone with stock firmware from my operator.
i used the base system of stock firmware, create an update.zip .
after that i installed last 2.2.1 firmware and use the update.zip file.
if u want u can pm me and i will explain to u how i did it.
i hope this wile help u.
You could try the amss.mbn file and replace it with your amss.mbn south america version and put it in european odin flash. I now this because the ZTE Blade was sold with 2.1 which was gen 1 radio firmware and devices sold with 2.2 and 2.2 radio firmware enabled hsupa and the 850MHz band. So you could try that

Well, I open the MODEM file (extension .tar.md5) and replace the file, then when I try to add to odin, launch a message that said "Invalid binary type", then I try to flash but 10 minutes later still in downloading amss.
I disconect the phone and flash again 2.2.1
Well, I think that other option is flash the 2.3.x full (without CSC file) and then create a single package with only amss file, reboot the phone and flash the single package with odin.
Is it possible?, is compatible the 2.2.1 amss with the 2.3.4 or 2.3.3
Thanks

I have an ACE s5830L TELCEL too and I just have a few (2) issues with the "emergency calls only" but i have many problems with wifi (it just turn off and i can´t turn on again only resetting the phone) and problems with flashing screen when I use European firmwares KPE 2.3.3 or KPH 2.3.4, so please kiriotto tell us, do you have an ACE 5830L or just an ACE 5830?
if you have an ACE 5830L, really you don´t have this issues? (wifi and flashing screen), and so, the solution to this problems was flashing with a T-mobile cooper.ops?
thanks for your time...

I'm from Brazil and I have a S5830B, yes, with the B, haha.
I bought the phone a few days ago and the first thing that I did was flashing the latest 2.3.4 FW, after that, the phone had these problems, the wifi and the screen flashing. Even flashing back to the 2.2.1 using the European FW, all the problems was still there.
I had to swap the phone with another new on the store. Now I'm using the new phone with the stock 2.2.1 S5830BVJKC4 FW.
We really need an american 2.3.4 FW.

After I install this Kies and connect the S5830 to the PC it shown "this device is not upgradeable". I wish someone in here can help me to upgrade to 2.3.3, here is the information I found on my S5830:
Model number - GT-S5830
Andriod verison - 2.2.1
Baseband version - S5830XXKB1
Kernel version - 2.6.32.9-perf
[email protected] #2
Build number - FROYO.ZSKC2
Please help, thank you.

I've heard people from chile that used the rom 2.3.4 vivo but they didn't use the csc file you left the space in blank. Search for the post how to root and flash samsung galaxy ace for instructions on how to flash. The flashing process will erase everything on your phone. so perform a backup!

I've read a couple of posts about this, but it seems there's not a clear criteria about it. So I want to buy an LG G3. I live in Costa Rica. The cheapest version of this phone on ebay is the Sprint version, but the unlock codes available for sale on several websites for the LG G3 only support the AT&T and T-Mobile version.
So, I really need to know if the Sprint version of the LG G3 can be somehow unlocked (not by requesting to Sprint the unlock code, because most ebayers don't even have a Sprint account haha, which is kind of suspicious how they got hands on one of these devices ). Can someone please tell me for sure if there's a way to unlock this phone and use it internationally on a WCDMA (3G) network (with micro SIM card)? If there is, does it depends on the specific ROM/version/model? I don't want to buy this phone and ending up without being able to use it as a phone in my country.
Thank you so much in advance for any information/tip you could provide me! :good:
hmm
be specific mann
Yes.it can be unlocked . I am sure ... Cause i saw someone sell this phone and have unlocked it to use gsm /cdma..

I flashed ZTO from Brasil, it's the closest to BTU on our SM-G9650, only bloat is Microsoft's apps (Word, Excel, ETC).
Your Active country CSC might not change, I'm on Claro Dominican Republic, and about phone reports TPA/TPA/CDR as active CSC. CDR is my orignal country product code.
Regards.

Yes it's unbranded.
Sammobile: https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/SM-G9650/ZTO/download/G9650ZHU2ARD3/216997/
Instructions below the download link work like a charm, you also get the download link to the latest version of ODIN.
I'd flash the normal CSC, and not the HOME_CSC, and start fresh. it guarantees no pesky bloatware is left behind. (HOME_CSC doesn't factory reset for phone).
Awesome!
I'm downloading it directly from SamFim Tool, I'll report back when I'm done, thanks a lot!

No, SM-G965U (USA Unlocked, Verizon, T-Mo, etc...) and SM-G9650 (China, LATAM) firmwares are not compatible, you could brick your Phone (or best case scenario ODIN won't let you flash).
I believe you can flash the open market firmware for your SM-G965U, or go with the T-Mo firmware, which as listed on Sammobile has the latest firmware version from Samsung(ARC6).
USC(USA unclocked): https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/SM-G965U/USC/download/G965USQU1ARBG/215539/
TMB(T-Mobile): https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/SM-G965U/TMB/download/G965USQU2ARC6/216249/
I don't know if the locked bootloader in your device is an issue, never had a USA Samsung smartphone.
Regards.

No, for the SM-G965F your best bet is BTU (UK Open) it's known to be the fastest updating CSC
Sammobile: https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/SM-G965F/BTU/
Regards
P.S. SM-G965F is Exynos international variant, SM-G9650 is CHINA and Latin America with Snapdragon chipset.

As far as I know, VoLTE will only work with a Telcel firmware

Haven't flashed anything, it has been two updates from the phone directly. The lastest is ARD3 with April patch.
It's june already, lets ask again:
Currently, I'm using the ZTO firmware for my device, but I want the moooost recent patch (June if its possible), so... what's the most recommended "DEBLOATED" firmware for my G9650???
BEST REGARDS!
Hidden menu shows 5 g bands does that means its g8x supports 5g?
No it doesn't but there is way to verify band supports from modem log. Here is method for LG: https://mt-tech.fi/en/how-to-get-4g-supported-ca-combinations-from-your-android-phone/#New_method . You can then share it to me so i can then list of supported bands and also 4G Carrier Aggregation combinations.
